Priyanka Chopra on being called ‘black cat’, ‘dusky’ in Bollywood: ‘I thought I was not pretty enough’

Priyanka Chopra has risen to global fame. After a successful career in the Hindi film industry, the actress ventured into Hollywood and has starred in many projects and headlined the ABC series Quantico. As she gears up for Citadel, the actress recently sat down for a conversation about women in films, South Asian identity and pay parity. She discussed about body shaming and being called ‘black cat’ in the film industry. Speaking after she was mentioned on the BBC 100 Women list for 2022, Priyanka Chopra recalled being shamed for her complexion. “I was called 'black cat', 'dusky'. I mean, what does 'dusky' even mean in a country where we are literally all brown? Of course, that comes from our colonial past, it's not even been 100 years since we shed the British Raj, so we still hold on to it, I think. But it is up to our generation to be able to cut those ties and change it so that the next generation doesn't inherit the equity placed on light skin,” she told BBC. "I thought I was not pretty enough, I believed that I would have to work a lot harder, even though I thought I was probably a little bit more talented than my fellow actors who were lighter skinned. But I thought that was right because it was so normalised," she said. Meanwhile, with Citadel already gearing up for the premiere in April 2023, Priyanka Chopra has lined up her next project. The actress is set to executive produce an upcoming limited series through her banner Purple Pebble Pictures (PPP). Amazon Studios is developing the project titled Assume Nothing, which is based on Tanya Selvaratnam’s memoir of the same name. Priyanka is also in talks to star in the same. Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra has Citadel set on Prime Video with Richard Madden and Stanley Tucci. The series is set to premiere on April 28. She also has a movie Love Again releasing in theatres on May 12, with Sam Heughan and Celine Dion. REVEALED: No change in release plans; Ranbir Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor starrer Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar to arrive in cinemas on March 8, as originally scheduled

Last week, Bollywood Hungama reported that there could be a change in the release date of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. The makers of the Ranbir Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor starrer were contemplating releasing the film on Tuesday, March 7, instead of Wednesday, March 8. The thought emerged as the makers thought that it’ll be wise to take advantage of the Holi holiday in several states on March 7. However, we have not learnt that the prepone plans have been dropped. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “There is no change in the plan. Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar will release on March 8, as originally scheduled.” The source further said, “A lot of last-minute prep is going on with the film and the makers feared that releasing a day earlier might add a lot of stress to the already overworked team. Moreover, even internationally, the plan was locked for March 8. Hence, a decision was taken to release Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar on March 8.” The source added, “The makers are confident of a healthy opening, though it’ll be a working day in several states on March 8. But thanks to considerable hype and youthful appeal, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar can score on the partial holiday on Wednesday. And let’s not forget that Women’s Day also falls on March 8 and that can further boost the footfalls.” A trade expert quipped, “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar will enjoy a five-day weekend and then there’s limited competition till the release of Ajay Devgn’s Bholaa. If the film clicks with the audience, it’ll be the second hit of 2023 after Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan.” Besides Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar also stars Dimple Kapadia and Anubhav Singh Bassi. Disney+ Hotstar and the filmmaker and creator Farhad Samji team up to present the comedy series of the year - Pop Kaun. Produced by Yam Productions, this series promises to bring together the best in comedy for a riotous, entertaining watch. With a legendary cast and side-splitting humour, Pop Kaun will be an ultimate streaming experience soon coming on Disney+ Hotstar. TV actor Zeeshan Khan undergoes treatment after being admitted due to food poisoning

Recent reports have been doing the rounds that reality show star Zeeshan Khan will soon be making his Bollywood debut. While the actor was seen in a unique negative role in the popular fantasy drama Naagin, now we hear that Khan has bagged another interesting supernatural television show.  It seems that Khan has kicked off a new project but faced a minor setback as he got admitted to the hospital while shooting for his show titled Baagin. Zeeshan Khan will be playing a negative lead in the show Baagin and is currently shooting for the same in Rajpipla, Gujarat. A source revealed that the actor fell ill on the sets of the television serial adding, “ Recently, an unfortunate incident took place. While shooting for Baagin, Zeeshan started feeling uneasy and complained of stomach ache. He was later rushed to the hospital as the ache became severe. The doctors ran some regular tests and confirmed that it was food poisoning. Post the tests, the actor was kept under observation for a while. However, the doctors have confirmed that he is stable now. In fact, Zeeshan has resumed work and has also returned to the sets.” For the unversed, Zeeshan Khan was previously seen in Bigg Boss and he has also been a part of a reality show Lock Upp on ALT Balaji. Samantha Ruth Prabhu is going through a lot these days, right from her upcoming projects to her health. For those not in the know, the actress revealed at the end of last year about her struggle while dealing with Myositis. If this wasn’t enough, she just went through some more pain. Samantha recently got bruised on the sets of her upcoming project Citadel. Her character in the Amazon Prime Video show requires her to perform a lot of action and stunt sequences. While shooting one such scene today, Samantha got bruised on her hands. She shared a picture of her condition on her Instagram story and wrote, “Perks of action.” Citadel is the Indian version of Russo Brothers’ international action show of the same name and on the same platform. It will see Samantha teaming up with Varun Dhawan in the latter’s first web series. The Indian version is helmed by Raj and DK, who have previously worked with Samantha in the second season of their celebrated show The Family Man. Pankaj Tripathi gets angry with Azamgarh makers; plans to take legal action for using his name for promotions: Reports

Pankaj Tripathi is currently among those few actors who have multiple projects lined up; from web series to films. Recently, the critically-acclaimed actor visited the National School of Drama (NSD) and interacted with the students at a session of Bharat Rang Mahotsav. He spoke to her on a variety of topics including his experience in the industry, what struggling actors face while trying to make a mark in the industry and much more. Besides this, he is also making headlines for another reason as he wants to take legal action against the makers of Azamgarh. For the unversed, Azamgarh is the debut feature film of National Award winner Kamlesh Mishra. In the film, Pankaj Tripathi plays a titular character of a Maulavi, who leads the youth to the path of terrorism. Reportedly, Pankaj saw the hoardings of the film ahead of its OTT release, and it apparently upset the actor. According to a report by Amar Ujala, Tripathi was told that this is a short film and he shot for it only for three days. While the makers are using his name to promote the film as if he has a lead role in it, Pankaj does not want such ‘cheap popularity.’ The report also added that the actor worked on this film without taking any remuneration. It is said that Tripathi doesn't want the makers to promote Azamgarh by using his name and if they do not agree, he will take legal action against them. The actor feels that he has a small role in the film, and the way he is featured in the poster is wrong. However, it is worth mentioning that Tripathi has not issued any official statement on the matter, as of now. After launching the remake of Turkish drama 1000 Nights - Katha Ankahee, the channel recently launched the promo of their new show, Sapnon Ki Chhalaang, starring Megha Ray in the lead role. The show revolves around her journey and how she tries to adjust to a world that is completely different from the one she has been living in. Bollywood actor Salman Khan is gearing up for his Eid 2023 release. The actor has already released one song 'Naiyyo Lagda' featuring Pooja Hegde from Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. As he gears up for his second song release, the actor has already screened the first cut of his film to his family and close friends. As per a report in Mid-day, the actor had screened the first cut at his brother Sohail Khan's studio in Bandra. Reportedly, they found the movie as a family entertainer. The report also said that some changes that were suggested will be incorporated in the final cut by Bunty Negi (editor). A Salman Khan Films Production, produced by Salma Khan, the film is directed by Farhad Samji. He is set to shoot a massive song with Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh and has hinted that he is paying homage to his favourite filmmaker of all time. Sharing a video of his team on a flight flying to an unknown location, Karan Johar wrote on Instagram, “Shooting the last schedule of our film #rockyaurranikipremkahani…a film i have directed after 7 years…shooting a song which is a homage to my favourite filmmaker of all times… won’t say any more…” Over a month ago, Bollywood Hungama had reported that Karan Johar will shoot the song as a tribute to his mentor Yash Chopra. For the romantic track, Rishi Kapoor and Sridevi in Chandni are the reference points. In 2021, Bollywood Hungama was the first to reveal the title and cast of the upcoming family-centric movie. Akshay Kumar’s ‘The Entertainers’ concert in New Jersey CANCELLED due to poor demand; the rest of the 4 shows to take place as scheduled

Akshay Kumar recently released his two-hero film, Selfiee, co-starring Emraan Hashmi. After the release of the film, the actor is all set to fly to the USA for a five-city show. Titled ‘The Entertainers’, it will be fronted by Akshay Kumar and also comprises Nora Fatehi, Disha Patani, Sonam Bajwa, Stebin Ben, Jasleen Royal, Mouni Roy, Aparshakti Khurana and Zahrah Khan. Unfortunately, one of the shows of ‘The Entertainers’ has been cancelled. As per a statement released by the promoter of the show, Amit Jaitly, the show that was scheduled at Cure Insurance Arena, Trenton, New Jersey on Saturday, March 4 will not take place. Amit Jaitly attributed the cancellation to the 'slow sale of tickets'. He added that the show wasn’t appropriately marketed and that they had 'less than stellar support for marketing from the Tour organizer'. The statement ended with an assurance that those who had booked tickets will be fully refunded. However, the rest of the four shows of 'The Entertainers' will take place as scheduled. Akshay Kumar and the rest of the actors will commence the tour with a performance on Saturday, March 3 in Duluth, Georgia. This will be followed by shows in Allen, Texas on Wednesday, March 8, Kissimmee, Florida on Saturday, March 11 and Oakland, California on Sunday, March 12. The cheapest ticket for ‘The Entertainers’ is available for $59, as per the information given on a booking website. The booking website shows that the tickets are fast filling for the show in Oakland on March 12. As per a report, Nora Fatehi already reached the USA yesterday, on February 26. Akshay Kumar and the rest of the actors, meanwhile, will land in the USA on Tuesday, February 28. A grand rehearsal has taken place in Mumbai. Akshay is expected to dance to his popular tracks and the remix versions of some of his old songs, as per this report. The actor told media, "I think dada (Sourav Ganguly) is a living legend not just in India, around the world. A biopic on him will be very special. Unfortunately, mujhe yeh film offer nahi huyi hai (I have not been offered this film). I think the makers of Luv films are still writing the script." While the trailer and the remake of the song, ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’ from the film was quite well-received, the film failed to make a mark among the audiences. In a recent interview, the actor, who insisted on giving up his Canadian citizenship for Indian citizenship, also opened up about his recent failures at the box office. The superstar also requested everyone to not blame the audience, further taking up the blame on himself about his films not working. In his interview with Aaj Tak, Akshay Kumar opened up about the performance of his recent theatrical releases, and said, "It is a great alarm, aapki film nahi chal rahi to galti aapki hai (If your films are not working, it is your fault). When your films flop in a row, it is an alarm for you that it is time for you to change. Dunki director Rajkumar Hirani speaks highly of Shah Rukh Khan; says, “Sometimes I have kept two days for a shoot and he finishes it in two hours”

Rajkumar Hirani is arguably the biggest director of Bollywood right now. He has delivered five films till now, all of which have been huge successes and have tremendous recall value. As a result, the expectations are tremendous from his upcoming film, Dunki. Moreover, it stars Shah Rukh Khan, who’s on a roll after the blockbuster success of his recently released action entertainer, Pathaan. Rajkumar Hirani rarely gives interviews and mostly speaks to the media around the time of his film’s release. As a result, it was a surprise when he recently spoke to India Today about Dunki. In this conversation, he expressed his love for Shah Rukh Khan and his work ethic. Rajkumar Hirani revealed that he was blown away by Shah Rukh's prep process and that the actor would shoot videos of a scene from his home and send it to him. That’s not all. Rajkumar said, “There will be 15 ways of how he is going to do this. Before I go on the set, I know what he is going to do. Sometimes I have kept two days for a shoot and he finishes it in two hours.” He also praised him for his command over the language. It’s common knowledge that Shah Rukh Khan is not an early morning person. Hence, Rajkumar Hirani said that he was pleasantly surprised to see him arrive at 7:00 am for a shoot. He also said that Shah Rukh knew that the director sleeps early and hence, he ensures that he doesn’t call him late at night. At the same time, however, Rajkumar Hirani said, “He keeps teasing me that by the time the shoot is done, he will have converted me (into a night owl). And now, it has come to light that the second song of this much-awaited film will be out very soon. Bollywood Hungama has learnt that the second track is titled ‘Billi Billi’. The song is expected to be a fun, catchy number and it will be released to the public on Thursday, March 2. Interestingly, the makers have embarked upon an interesting promotional strategy before the release of ‘Billi Billi’. They sent cat masks to several journalists today and informed them through a letter that a similar mask has been used in the song as well. The much-awaited romcom, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, is less than two weeks away from its release and there's considerable excitement among the audiences. The trailer and songs of this Ranbir Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor starrer have worked well and trade expects Luv Ranjan’s directorial to have a huge opening at the box office. And if sources are to be believed, the makers are thinking of releasing it sooner than expected. A source said, "Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar is scheduled to release on Wednesday, March 8. But the producers are toying with the idea of preponing it and releasing it a day earlier, on Tuesday, March 7.” The source continued, "The second day of Holi falls on March 7. There has been confusion over this aspect. In many places, the Holi holiday will be on March 7. To take advantage of it, the makers felt that it was wise to come on March 7 since that's when it'll get maximum footfalls." The source, however, also added, “A decision will be taken in a few days. If Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar gets ready in time, it’ll be out on Tuesday, March 7. SCOOP: Sanjay Dutt to play a villain in Hera Pheri’s third part, starring Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal?

The past week has been dominated by Hera Pheri. It all began with the report that the much-awaited comedy sequel has gone on floors on February 21. The report also stated that Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal will be reprising their characters. Later, it came to light that Farhad Samji will be directing the film and that the team shot for a promo. The next day, Bollywood Hungama broke the news that the third part will not be called Hera Pheri 3. Instead, it has been titled Hera Pheri 4. And now, we bring to you another exciting update. Yesterday, it was reported that Sanjay Dutt has been cast in Hera Pheri 4. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Sanjay Dutt has indeed signed the film. It is said that he’ll be playing one of the antagonists in the film. His character is blind and is quite quirky. He’s expected to add to the madness quotient of the Hera Pheri series.” The source further said, “Sanjay Dutt is superb in comedy roles and the makers felt he’ll be right for this role. Moreover, his casting will add to the brand value. He’s an exciting addition to the Hera Pheri universe and it’ll be interesting for the audiences to see him locking horns with Raju (Akshay Kumar), Shyam (Suniel Shetty) and Baburao Ganpatrao Apte (Paresh Rawal). There are also reports that Arshad Warsi has been signed in Hera Pheri 4 but our source couldn’t confirm this development. Wasn’t hit maker Anees Bazmee almost inked for directing the third part of producer Firoz Nadiadwala’s Hera Pheri franchise? Now we hear Farhad Samji is doing the film. Anees is suddenly out. What happened? I reached out to Anees, and he didn’t beat around the bush. “I met the producer Firoz Nadiadwala several times. He didn’t have much of a story let alone a script. Unhone jo mujhe idea bataya woh kuch jammee bahin (the idea he threw at me didn’t jell with me). Maina na keh diya (I said no),” admits Anees. The formula for a successful film is simple for Anees. “No script no hit. It’s as simple as that. Which is why I am taking so much time over my next screenplay, which will star Shahid Kapoor. I am going to finish writing it by the end of this month. Then there will be an announcement.” Coming back to the third part of Hera Pheri (which will be titled Hera Pheri 4) Anees says, “After I declined the offer, I now hear the film is going to be directed by someone else (Farhad Samji). Akshay Kumar who was totally opposed to doing the film without a proper script has apparently agreed to come on board. I don’t know how or why. Only he will be able to tell. Speaking for myself, I am not part of that project anymore.” Was the fact that Firoz Nadiadwala still owed Anees money for the last film that they did together, also a reason for Anees opting out? “Yes, that too. Raju, Shyam and Baburao to go international in Hera Pheri 4, “They will do Hera Pheri globally,” reveals Paresh Rawal

The news about the third film in the Hera Pheri franchise was out two days back on February 22. A leaked photo of the famous trio from the series – Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal – along with the team were spotted shooting a promo for the movie in a studio in Mumbai. Interestingly, despite it being the third film in the franchise, it is titled Hera Pheri 4. There is a lot of curiosity among the fans to know what the next instalment of the series has in store. It is now learnt that this time, the Hera Pheri trio of Raju, Shyam and Babu bhaiya, played by Akshay, Shetty and Rawal, would travel internationally. Rawal revealed this in a conversation with Mid-Day along with the shooting schedule of the film. “We’ll begin shooting in three months,” he told the publication. “It will be a (long) schedule in Mumbai. The movie will also be shot in international locations like Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Los Angeles, as Babu bhaiya, Raju and Shyam go abroad. They’ll do hera pheri globally.” Rawal was happy to meet his co-stars for the promo shoot recently. “Meeting them felt like ghar wapsi. It’s always a joy shooting with Akshay and Suniel. They are talented actors who are not insecure about their work. We have mutual respect. Our off-screen camaraderie reflects in our on-screen chemistry,” he further told the publication. Earlier, there were reports about Kartik Aaryan replacing Akshay in the third part of Hera Pheri. Reacting on this, Rawal revealed, “As far as I know, initially, both Kartik and Akshay were to do the film, but it didn’t work out. I don’t know what happened.” The first film in the series, titled Hera Pheri, had released in 2000 and it became a cult classic. It was directed by Priyadarshan. But Neeraj Vora took onto the director’s chair for Phir Hera Pheri, which released in 2006. Hera Pheri 4 will be helmed by Farhad Samji. Brothers Ayushmann Khurrana and Aparshakti Khurana to host Zee Cine Awards 2023

Ayushmann Khurrana has carved a niche for himself in mainstream Hindi cinema with his unusually funny and quirky dramas over the years, including his spectacular debut in the form of Shoojit Sircar’s Vicky Donor in 2012. Similarly, his younger brother Aparshakti Khurana has also succeeded in displaying his talent in films and web-series in the last few years. Although both the siblings are different in terms of their acting skills, they do share a common penchant for humour. Now, the two are all set to display their comic skills as the hosts of this year’s Zee Cine Awards, which will be taking place on February 26 in Mumbai. Ayushmann was recently announced as the host of the show. Now, the news about his brother joining him is just out. Speaking about sharing the stage with his brother, Aparkshakti said in a statement, “It’s always great to work with him. We had previously hosted another show together and that was a riot. When it comes to work, we are aware that it’s a professional commitment and it’s not often we come together. But given our personal background, it definitely adds a layer of charm and fun to the show and I hope we can bring that to the stage. At the end of the day the idea is to make the evening memorable and both of us are going to do our best on that.” Coming to the work front, Aparshakti had two theatrical films last year in the form of Dhoka: Round D Corner and Bhediya with Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon. Nawazuddin Siddiqui dowry case dismissed by Mumbai court

Readers may be aware that for the past few days, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is in news after his ‘former’ wife Aaliya Siddiqui threw major allegations against his family, including that of house arrest and as well as forcing her and their children to only use selected facilities within their residence. Along with her complaint, she had also alleged that Siddiqui and his family are harassing her for dowry and had moved the court regarding the same. However, as per recent reports, the Mumbai court has dismissed her pleas after their divorce documents were presented. In recent reports, lawyers Adnan Shaikh and Drishti Khurana had alleged that the couple are not married anymore. Presenting evidence to support their argument, the lawyers clarified in their statement that they produced divorce documents of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Aaliya Siddiqui aka Zainab. Following this, the court dismissed two pleas. In their statement, the lawyers also alleged how the marriage documents were presented to the court but their divorce documents were concealed. Talking about Aaliya Siddiqui, after she claimed that she and her kids were being tortured by Nawaz’s parents in their house, she had taken to social media to post videos of how there were security guards in her residence. In the video, Aaliya aka Zainab had shared how these guards refused her access to basic places like bathroom and toilet as she and her kids, were allegedly, allowed to use only the living room. As for the case, Aaliya had registered the case at Versova police station against Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his family by filing an FIR against them under sections 498A, 509, and others of IPC on the grounds of dowry harassment and protection of women’s rights. This came after Aaliya was allegedly accused of trespassing by Siddqui’s family. SCOOP: Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan to shoot together for Tiger 3 in April 2023

Readers would recall that Pathaan featured Tiger aka Salman Khan in an extended cameo and the moment was loved the audiences. The dialogues in the film also indicated that Pathaan will be joining Tiger briefly on the latter’s next mission. Although the makers had hinted on the possibility of this much earlier, even prior to the release of the Shah Rukh Khan starrer, now it has not only been confirmed but the superstar has even allotted his dates for the spy actioner Tiger 3 that will once again see Khan reuniting with Zoya aka Katrina Kaif. The success of Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) had promoted the makers to take the franchise of the spy-action drama ahead and it will once again have Salman Khan as Tiger and Katrina Kaif as Zoya. And now as per our trade source, it has been confirmed that the scenes of Shah Rukh Khan in Tiger 3 will be shot in summer. The trade source says, “Watch out for Pathaan’s entry in Tiger 3! As the super-spies start crossing over in each other’s films, which are part of the blockbuster YRF Spy Universe, expect twists and surprises that deliver outstanding entertainment value to audiences in theatres!” The source added, “Shah Rukh will shoot for Tiger 3 by end-April and the shoot is expected to be in Mumbai. Details of this shoot is being kept completely under wraps but expect fireworks when the two super spies meet again in Tiger 3. Salman told SRK in Pathaan that he was going on an important mission so Pathaan will meet Tiger during this mission.” As for the film, Tiger 3 will also feature Emraan Hashmi, who will be a part of the franchise for the first time. The actor will be seen as the antagonist in the film which is slated to release in November 2023. After tons of rumours of Kartik Aaryan joining the star cast of Hera Pheri 3, Akshay Kumar publicly accepted that he backed out from the film. But recently, the OG Hera Pheri trio of Akshay, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal started shooting for the third instalment. While a section of fans is still rejoicing the news, there is another big news coming in for another Akshay Kumar-led franchise, Welcome. For the unversed, released in 2007, Welcome was one of the biggest laugh riots of that year. Besides him, the film also starred Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Paresh Rawal, Mallika Sherawat and Katrina Kaif. Later, in 2015, Welcome Back, the sequel, saw Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar and Paresh Rawal reprise their roles, along with Shruti Haasan, John Abraham, Shiney Ahuja, Dimple Kapadia and Naseeruddin Shah joining the star cast. The upcoming part, which was earlier titled Welcome To The Jungle, will be called Welcome 3. If a report by Times Of India is something to go by, then the forthcoming Firoz Nadiadwala-produced movie will have Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi leading from the front along with Akshay Kumar. The report further added that the film is expected to start rolling either during the last leg of Hera Pheri 3 or as soon as it hits the theatres. Meanwhile, the director of Welcome 3 is yet to be finalised. Coming back to Akshay, as mentioned above, he has, reportedly, started shooting for Hera Pheri 3. Meanwhile, the release of his film Selfiee is around the corner. The project, also headlined by Emraan Hashmi, is slated to release on February 24. It is an official Hindi remake of a Malyalam-language film, Driving Licence, which was released in 2019. The trailer of the film will be out tomorrow, that is, February 23, and Bollywood Hungama has come across some interesting information about the film. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway is a special film for Rani Mukerji as this is the first time she has turned singer. A soulful composition in the film has been sung by her and it will be one of the film’s highlights. The song has a mix of Hindi and Bengali lyrics.” This is the first time that Rani Mukerji will be credited as a playback singer in a film. The source further said, “Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway is very close to Rani Mukerji’s heart as it tells an incredible and inspiring story. Now, reports have it that the makers of the film have already begun shooting for the venture, with a special promo that features all the three actors. The truth about producer Firoz Nadiadwala’s proposed project, the third part of the Hera Pheri series: Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal have finally agreed to come together for the beleaguered project, which has been on the anvil for the past six years. The lie: that the project’s shooting already started on February 21. A source in the know spills the beans. “How is that possible? How can three busy stars suddenly start shooting for a new project? How can they shoot for Hera Pheri when they don’t even have a script yet? They have no script and no leading ladies. It is true that Akshay has agreed to come on board. But the three actors have only shot a promotional video on Tuesday which will be out next week.” As for the actual shooting, “There are no immediate plans to shoot the actual film as yet. The promo was shot in haste to generate resources and interest in the project. Right now, there is nothing beyond that.” As for the film, Hera Pheri 3 that has been titled Hera Pheri 4, comes as the third film in the franchise with the film that was released in 2000 directed by Priyadarshan, and its sequel, Phir Hera Pheri release in 2006, directed by Neeraj Vora. Firoz Nadiadwala in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama confirmed that the same star cast as in the first two parts - Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal - will be featured in the third part. As expected, the news went viral. Yesterday, Hera Pheri 3 was once again in the news after it was reported that it went on floors. A few hours later, news came in that Farhad Samji is the director of the much-awaited film. Bollywood Hungama has now stumbled upon another interesting piece of information. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Although it’s Hera Pheri’s third part, it won’t be called Hera Pheri 3. Instead, the makers have decided to name the film Hera Pheri 4. The makers feel it justifies the story and viewers will understand the reason behind it once they see the film.” The source also shared, “Hera Pheri 4 hasn’t gone on the floors yet. Yesterday, Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal shot for a promo, announcing that the third part of the blockbuster comedy franchise is officially on and that it’s going on floors soon. The filming will begin later on, in a month or two.” Last year, a controversy erupted after it came to light that Kartik Aaryan has been signed for the film and that Akshay Kumar has moved out. Akshay, in an event, revealed that since he was not happy with the script, he decided to not do the film. It led to a lot of brouhaha as Akshay Kumar’s character Raju is a favourite of the fans. Hence, many people felt that without him, Hera Pheri’s next part won’t make for an exciting watch. After this episode, however, the differences between producer Firoz Nadiadwala and Akshay Kumar got resolved and Akshay Kumar was back in the Hera Pheri franchise. Hera Pheri (2000), which was directed by Priyadarshan, was a story of a poor landlord and his two tenants, and how they become rich after they receive a wrong number. The sequel, Phir Hera Pheri (2006), directed by Neeraj Vora, took the story forward and how the trio went from riches to rags in their quest for greed and wealth. Hera Pheri 4 is expected to take the story forward after the events of the second part. When he came to know of what Salman and done with Kareena’s connivance, Bhansali had no choice but to drop Bajirao Mastani and make Black with Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji. In fact, Aditya Chopra who usually stays away from the limelight has been thrust into the spotlight with the success of the Siddharth Anand directorial and the recent Netflix docu-series The Romantics. While the audience continues to patronize Pathaan, reports have surfaced claiming that Aditya Chopra is considering merging two major franchises. As per reports, rumours floating around say that Aditya Chopra will be merging his Dhoom Universe with the Spy Universe. We can assure you that this information is absolutely incorrect. “Dhoom franchise and YRF Spy Universe are now two of the biggest IP’s in the history of Indian cinema and Aditya Chopra, who owns both these IP’s, will never merge the two because he would want to grow them separately. YRF Spy Universe is a world of super spies and Dhoom is the world of anti-establishment anti-heroes. They can’t come together. He will protect the sanctity of these two universes and grow them separately to make them even bigger IP’s in the years to come,” informs a very senior trade source. Sonu Nigam gets attacked in a concert in Mumbai; registers complaint against politician’s son for causing chaos

As per recent reports, Sonu Nigam has been admitted the hospital after a few people caused a major ruckus at his concert in Mumbai. The Padma Shri award-winning singer was performing at a finale of a homegrown festival in Chembur when an MLA’s son and his nephew attacked the stage after they were unable to fulfill their wish of getting a selfie with Nigam. While the security guards try to bring the chaos under control, some of them sustained injuries too. From what we hear, Shiv Sena MLA Prakash Phaterpekar’s son and nephew was keen on clicking photographs with the singer and was attempting to interrupt the concert while Sonu Nigam was singing on stage. When the bodyguards and security tried to stop him from entering the stage, the matter worsened as he and his team got into a fight with the guards, which resulted in chaos. A video of the same has been doing the rounds on social media. Although Sonu was rushed to the hospital, followed by the incident, it seems that the singer is doing well. However, his close aide, Rabbani Khan (his guru Ghulam Mustafa Khan’s son) and his bodyguard is expected to have sustained a few injuries. Udaariyaan actress Twinkle Arora shoots despite suffering from 101.1 fever

Recently Twinkle Arora, who essays the character of Nehmat from Udaariyaan, won hearts of people on the sets of the show as well as her fans with her dedication and sincerity. The actress took to social media to talk about her unwell health. While concerned fans expressed their concern over it, the actress revealed that she is currently on the sets working, despite her health conditions. Sources close to the actress confirmed the news but also assured concerned fans that she is recovering. Twinkle Arora had taken to social media to reveal that she had 101.1 degrees fever. However, she did not reveal that the actress did not take a break from her shoot to rest amidst the condition. A source close to the actress stated that she was instructed to take rest by the doctor and was given medication. The source added, “Twinkle was seen continuing the shoot taking only mini breaks and that too, post medication. But she didn’t take a single off from the shoot. Moreover, she also ensured that she was on time for the shooting schedule. Twinkle also continued to give as many takes as required until the shot was finalized without letting her fever impact her professional commitments. However, let us assure concerned fans that Twinkle is recovering well and once is following her medical course diligently. The earthquakes in Turkey and Syria have claimed close to 40,000 lives. As rescue operations continue in full force, Bollywood star Sunny Leone and Daniel Weber have decided to join the rescue missions currently active in the region. The power couple is among the first ones from India who have vouched for their support towards helping survivors and their families with the required essentials.  Leone and Weber, earlier today, announced that they will be donating 10% of all sales of their leading cosmetic brand Starstruck by SL to assist in relief and recovery efforts in the earthquake-affected zones. The couple's agenda to go out and help the Earthquake survivors sends a message of kindness and empathy.  Talking about Leone said, in a statement, "Together, we can rebuild and restore hope after the earthquake. It is essential that everyone the world over comes together and lends a hand to those in need. I urge people to join us in helping the earthquake survivors rebuild their lives." SCOOP: Before Pathaan’s release, Zee Studios had considered coming on board Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan; backed out as the acquisition cost was more than Rs. 300 crores

Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan is an all-time blockbuster and now, he has already moved on to completing his other two films, Jawan and Dunki. Jawan will be his next release and there’s already considerable hype for it, especially after its massy first look teaser was released last year. Moreover, it’s directed by South director Atlee, who knows the pulse of the audience. And with Pathaan becoming a Rs. 500 crores grosser, the excitement for Jawan has gone many notches higher. Interestingly, there’s no clarity yet on who’ll be distributing and releasing Jawan. While Bollywood Hungama was enquiring about it, we stumbled upon an interesting piece of information. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Almost six months ago, Zee Studios was in talks with Shah Rukh Khan’s production house Red Chillies Entertainment, also the producers of Jawan, to come on board as the studio partner. But Zee had to decline as the acquisition cost went above Rs. 300 crores, to around Rs. 350 crores.” The source continued, “These talks took place nearly six months ago. This was a time when films were flopping left, right and centre. Also, Pathaan had not released yet and had wowed the industry and trade with its achievement of collecting Rs. 70 crores in a day and a lot more. Hence, Zee probably decided to back out as they felt that it might be financially unviable.” The source, however, has no update about the present-day scenario and whether Zee Studios has once again shown interest or some other studio has commenced discussions with Jawan’s makers. Besides Shah Rukh Khan, Jawan also stars Priya Mani and Sanya Malhotra. Vijay Sethupathi, who recently debuted in the Hindi-speaking markets with the acclaimed web series Farzi, is reportedly playing the antagonist. Turns out, not Sumeet Vyas, but popular Pakistani actor Danish Taimoor was supposed to be paired opposite Kareena. Rhea Kapoor brought Fawad Khan to the film industry and it seems like she wanted to introduce another fresh face in the films who was already a heartthrob in Pakistan. In a recent conversation, Danish Taimoor revealed that the actor was supposed to be a part of the film but due to Kareena’s pregnancy, the film was delayed and the rising tension between the two nations also put a stop for actors to work in Bollywood. During his chat on The Talk Talk Show with Hassan Choudary, the actor said, “We didn’t reveal it because we were too excited, (I, and Ayeza Khan [his wife, actor]), we were ecstatic. I was also given the dates by the production house, and they had finalized me and Javed Sheikh. When the first scene of the film was to be shot in Thailand, Kapoor announced her pregnancy which caused an inevitable delay followed by the escalation from both India and Pakistan." The project will be co-produced by Ekta Kapoor and directed by Hansal Mehta. Ekta and Kareena Kapoor Khan previously teamed up on the comedy, Veere Di Wedding in 2018. Reports also state that Kareena Kapoor Khan has signed a project, which will also star Tabu and Kriti Sanon. The makers are yet to confirm their movie. Cinemas to celebrate Pathaan Week from February 20 to 23, to show the film only at Rs 110

The Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan has been ruling the box office right from the time its advance bookings were opened last month. The spy action film, which is directed by Siddharth Anand, recently crossed the Rs 500 crores nett mark in India and is now all set to reach Rs 1000 crores gross worldwide. To celebrate this feat, theatre owners across India have decided to hold Pathaan Week from February 20 to 23 by showing the film for only Rs 110. The makers had already slashed the ticket prices to Rs 110 for the film’s fourth weekend (till today). Now the same will continue for the weekdays as well. Sharing the news, Rohan Malhotra, Vice President, Distribution, YRF, said, “2023 has started extremely well not just for YRF with Pathaan but also for the entire exhibition circuit and we couldn’t be happier. The biggest all-time blockbuster Pathaan, which is the latest offering from Aditya Chopra’s YRF Spy Universe, has been entertaining audiences globally since its release and it is amazing that all the leading multiplex chains are coming together to celebrate the contribution of this film towards the Hindi film industry.” He added, “It is going to be Pathaan Week across these participating cinemas with tickets priced at flat Rs 110. Shehzada star Kartik Aaryan gets challan for leaving car in ‘no parking’ zone during Siddhivinayak visit, Mumbai Police tease him saying ‘Don't do the 'Bhool'’

Following almost a month of promotions, Shehzada released in theatres on Friday. Starring Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon, it is a Hindi remake of the Telugu superhit Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo starring Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde. On the day of the film’s release, Kartik visited the Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai to seek blessings for his film. However, the actor got in trouble with the traffic laws. As per a report in ANI, Mumbai traffic police booked a challan in Kartik Aaryan’s name for parking his car in the ‘no parking’ zone. The Mumbai Traffic Police shared the photo of his car on their Twitter page with a caption that read, “Problem? Problem yeh thi ki the car was parked on the wrong side! Jaideep Ahlawat felt bad about An Action Hero’s failure at the box office: ‘I felt yeh galat hai’

Bollywood actor Jaideep Ahlawat, who has worked on projects like Raazi, Paatal Lok, and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar among others, was most recently seen in An Action Hero starring alongside Ayushmann Khurrana. However, the film didn't work at the box office back in December 2022 but found a new life on Netflix. Ahlawat has said that he felt angry about this and thought that it was wrong that it didn't fare well at the box office. When asked if the film didn't get its due credit, Jaideep Ahlawat told Indian Express, “Yes, I definitely feel that. I feel a little bad for Anirudh (Iyer) also, he is a first-time director and he is an amazing filmmaker and an amazing human being. So I felt a little bad for him, the film also and for me, I felt yeh galat hai.” He said, “And then when the film came on OTT, everybody watched and loved it. I felt a little angry also. People (after watching it on OTT) wrote how they wished they had watched the film in theatres. Everybody who watched it in theatres or on OTT loved the film. I haven’t come across anyone who said yeh kya bakwaas film hai (what nonsense this is). It feels weird, I was like yeh samajh nahi aaya aise kyun hua (I don’t know what went wrong). It was a Bollywood masala film with so many things in it. There were so many factors in it, so many little social issues were addressed in the film. In 2018, Karan Johar produced Dhadak, which marked the debut of Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, it was the official remake of the 2016 Marathi blockbuster Sairat, starring Akash Thosar and Rinku Rajguru. And now, it has come to light that one more Marathi film has caught Karan Johar’s eye and if all goes well, he might soon be remaking it. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Karan Johar had been in talks to remake Jhimma (2021). He loved the film’s concept, funny and emotional moments and its characters. The talks began last year and the recent developments are not known. Nevertheless, if all goes well and if he gets the right actors, the Dharma Productions’ head honcho would be going ahead with Jhimma’s remake.” The source further said, “Jhimma comprises an all-female cast. On Karan Johar’s wish list are Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan and Neena Gupta. He feels that these three actors will do complete justice. Also, bringing the powerhouse artists together will add to the film’s hype.” Jhimma was released on November 19, 2021, and told the story of a group of ladies of different age groups going on an all-women packaged tour to London from India. It starred Sonalee Kulkarni, Suchitra Bandekar, Nirmiti Sawant, Kshitee Jog, Suhas Joshi, Sayali Sanjeev and Mrinmayee Godbole. Siddharth Chandekar was a rare male actor in the film and he played the role of the guide who's sometimes irritated and at times blown away by the ladies. Jhimma was directed by Hemant Dhome and he also featured in the film in a small role. It was the first Marathi hit post-pandemic and despite the absence of a conventional storyline, it was loved for its light-hearted treatment, ensemble cast, music and strong writing.
