WOW Life Science Organic Apple Cider Vinegar is made from the juice of the finest quality apples grown organically in the orchards of the pristine hills of the Himalayas. It is natural, raw, unfiltered, and unpasteurised that retains the apple’s natural residue called ‘Mother of Vinegar’. The apple cider vinegar, popular as a drink, offers a bunch of health benefits. It is rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and enzymes that help boost overall health.

The current pandemic situation has made consumers realise the importance of being fit and staying healthy by following a more nature-based lifestyle. Today, wholesome lifestyle and healthy eating habits have become part of daily schedules, even within the confines of one’s home. Apple Cider Vinegar, though an old companion for the health-conscious, has today become an in-demand, popular health drink across all consumer segments.

WOW is spearheading innovation in product ideas, formulations, and packaging. The brand’s uniqueness is what makes WOW products the preferred choice of the consumers. The brand through its strong consumer-centric approach has grown manifold in 2020 despite the pandemic. The company attributes this to the numerous entrances across the D2C space in terms of integrations, collaborating with brands, ATL and BTL exercises, collaborations with A-list celebrities as brand ambassadors, curating masterclass, and experiential. The brand has also forayed into the brick-and-mortar formats to engage more closely with the consumers. WOW has also been recently backed by Chrys Capital which is expected to boost further growth.

Scam 1992 and The Family Man star Shreya Dhanwanthary to play a crucial role in Taapsee Pannu-Tahir Raj Bhasin’s Looop Lapeta

Shreya Dhanwanthary will be seen in an important role in the forthcoming Taapsee Pannu-Tahir Raj Bhasin starrer Looop Lapeta. She becomes a household name recently after both her series Scam 1992 and The Family Man became runaway hits. The makers were looking for a popular and strong actor to match up to Taapsee and Tahir (who play Savi and Satya respectively), and Shreya, who has worked with Ellipsis previously, was the instant choice for the part of Julia in the new-age millennial film.

"There were many reasons for me to take up the film. The part offered to me was so delicious I couldn’t say no. I took my first steps with Tanuj and Atul from Ellipsis. The title is so loopy. And because I am always itching to try something new and crazy, which is what Looop Lapeta is! I've watched the original! Boy, Franka Potente can run!" says Shreya Dhanwanthary.

Looop Lapeta, produced by Sony Pictures Films India, Ellipsis Entertainment, and Aayush Maheshwari, and directed by Aakash Bhatia is scheduled to release this year.

Sonam Kapoor to make her digital debut; Blind opts for a direct to OTT release

While the film was made for the theatres, we now hear that Sonam's Blind remake will now be a direct to OTT release. Our informer adds, "Sujoy had thought of waiting it out for a theatrical release. He is in fact very happy with how the film has turned out. But given the third wave scare, and another shut down of theatres, he is being advised to not hold onto the movie anymore. He is now talking to three digital streaming companies and he will select the best deal."

A trade guy shares, "Blind will be Sonam's debut on OTT. It is only a logical move to opt for the web because theirs is a small film and they will easily recover the money. Theatrical business is even more dicey at this point. So it's a good call."

“I was left with the potbellied look with all the gyms closed during the first lockdown”- Farhan Akhtar talks about Toofaan

The trailer of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s directorial Toofaan was released earlier today(June 30). Starring Farhan Akhtar as a boxer, it is one of the most anticipated films of the year. The trailer gives us a glimpse of the life of Ajju aka Aziz Ali who goes from being a street fighter to a boxer to an incident that gets him banned from professional boxing for five years. Post the release of the trailer, Farhan Akhtar spoke to a group of journalists about the film.

“I was left in the potbellied look with all the gyms closed during the first lockdown”- Farhan Akhtar talks about Toofaan

Farhan spent nearly 8-9 months before the film went on floors to get the physique of a boxer. While he has been appreciated for building an impressive physique, in the trailer we also see him sporting a potbelly. When asked if it was difficult to detach himself from a character on which he spent months working on, Farhan said, “To a certain extent, it was. The reason for that is because we ended shooting roughly about four days before the first lockdown happened. So I was actually just stuck in the character and nobody else to talk to and nothing else to move on to. I was just at home. Now that you have seen the trailer you have seen the potbellied look that I have. So I was left in that look with all gyms closed and nowhere to train and nothing to do. So I had to live with this character way longer than I would have chosen to otherwise. That’s why there was a bit of a hangover. I did get to mourn this character for quite some time because I had to live with him; I didn’t have much of a choice. But given the intensity of the experience itself, I do think that was also natural for that to happen because leading up to the wrap of the film, it was almost a year-and-a-half, if not a little more dedicated just to this one film and this one character. That does take time.”

Further, when asked if he had opted for prosthetics or actual weight gain for the potbellied loo, the actor said, “Neither Rakeysh nor I wanted to take any kind of shortcut for that part of the film. When you are showing the journey of a character then that person goes through the journey of the character at some level to be able to understand it and show it to somebody else. So all the weight gain you see in the film, I have put it on with a lot of effort. I was given 3 months to gain weight, I would eat almost everything. It was only fun in the first week to 10 days and then it became difficult. You realise you don’t need to eat so much.”

Toofaan also stars Mrunal Thakur and Paresh Rawal. Produced by Excel Entertainment, the film will be released on July 16 on Amazon Prime Video.

To prepare for a possible third wave of COVID-19, with predictions of children being impacted to a greater degree, Huma Qureshi, along with Save the Children, are setting up a 30-bed pediatric ward. On 29 June, Huma Qureshi and Save the Children staff visited the Tilak Nagar Colony Hospital, New Delhi.

Huma Qureshi and Save the Children initiative: 30-bed pediatric ward for Delhi to fight COVID-19's third wave

To prepare for a possible third wave of COVID-19, with predictions of children being impacted to a greater degree, Huma Qureshi, along with Save the Children is helping set up a 30-bed pediatric ward. On 29 June, Huma Qureshi and the Save the Children staff visited the Tilak Nagar Colony Hospital, New Delhi to take stock of the progress of this initiative. Following the first two waves where there has been an increase in infections amongst the younger population, child-specific needs are the focus of this initiative called 'Breath of Life'.

While preparing this ward, special care is being taken to make it child-friendly for that helps in healing. The walls are also being painted in ways to make them pleasant, friendly for children. Huma Qureshi made an effort to join the painting work. Huma Qureshi said, ‘’At Tilak Nagar Colony Hospital in Delhi I witnessed first-hand how hard work and earnest intentions do bear fruit. My ‘Breath of Life’ mission with Save the Children has received massive support and empowered us to set up a 100-bed COVID Facility in the city I proudly call my home. A big thank you to everyone who contributed and stood up for the people in their hour of need. But the battle is not yet over, with speculation rife about an anticipated third wave and its potential impact on our children, we need to be prepared. I am not waiting for the situation to get worse like the second wave. Together with Save the Children we are prepping already to add a 30- bed pediatric ward to this facility, dedicated for Delhi’s children. And keeping children in mind, we want to create a ward that is child-friendly colours, wall painted with animals. And today, I joined the team in painting the wall. It was overwhelming to see it all come alive. And most of all, to experience the child in me."

Huma Qureshi also met the Commissioner Gynaesh Bharti and Additional Commissioner Randhir Sahay of South Delhi municipal corporation (SDMC), during which a Doctors team was also present with her. The SDMC commissioner thanked Huma Qureshi and Save the Children for the 'Breath of life' initiative.

“SDMC was facing challenges during the second wave of COVID-19 due to shortage of supply of medical oxygen in this facility -- when the support from the Breath of Life initiative helped in providing 100 beds into oxygen support. We highly appreciated this support and going ahead with the support of this project we are looking now to set up a 30-bedded pediatric ward in this facility with pediatric ICU and neonatal ICU. This collaboration has also created an enthusiastic environment for the doctors, and they are looking forward for completion of this set up.’’- Gynaesh Bharti, Commissioner, SDMC

Sudarshan, CEO of Save the Children said, "We understand that children have specific needs and one such need is to prepare for the probable third wave and have robust facilities to ensure children’s care if they are hospitalised. This is a great initiative prioritised by the government and with Huma’s fantastic efforts that will pave the way for many more, including the effort to set up Neo-natal ICU and children's ICU facilities during the pandemic in Delhi and with Save the Children’s effort across the country."

Huma and Save the Children's mission ‘Breath of Life’ has received massive support to set up a 100-bed COVID Facility in the city. Save the Children is setting a 12 beds ICU in Satara but much more needs to be done to ensure that we are better prepared. To add your support, please visit

Dongri to Dubai, Farhan Akhtar's series on Dawood Ibrahim, to resume shooting after monsoon?

Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s production venture Dongri To Dubai will chronicle the life of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and adapted from Hussain Zaidi’s book "Dongri to Dubai: Six Decades" of the Mumbai Mafia, has been constantly hitting the roadblock since the time the shooting began.

Dongri to Dubai, Farhan Akhtar's series on Dawood Ibrahim, to resume shooting after monsoon?

Featuring Avinash Tiwary, Kay Kay Menon, Jitin Gulati, Amyra Dastur, and Kritika Kamra and directed by Shujaat Saudagar, the show went on the floor just before the pandemic wreaked havoc. In mid-May 2020 the show’s set at Madh island Mumbai was demolished as it was unused during the lockdown period. The makers finally reconstructed the set in January 2021, seven months after they pulled it down due to a pandemic. But in March, the director tested positive for Coronavirus forcing the entire cast and crew to go under isolation.

It is now heard that the shooting will begin only after the monsoons. A source reveals, “The set which was dismantled at Madh island was rebuilt at the same place in January and it still remains. Around 40 days of shooting are remaining which will be shot only after the rainy season. Despite the permission given by the Maharashtra government to resume shooting by following the SOP (standard operating procedures), the makers have decided to wait and watch as they do not want to take any chances this time around and stall the shooting again."

The source further reveals that there are some really crucial sequences that remain to be shot, “These are important scenes which were kept on hold. There are some crowd sequences that need to be shot which are being planned as the makers do not want anyone to contract the virus again. There is also a segment of Dubai that is remaining. The makers are contemplating whether to shoot it here or take a limited crew to Dubai and shoot it there."

No OTT for Vijay Deverakonda’s Hindi debut

There is a buzz in Bollywood’s corridors that Karan Johar and Dharma Productions are negotiating with a major OTT platform for the streaming rights of Liger, Vijay Deverekonda’s Bollywood debut film.

No OTT for Vijay Deverakonda’s Hindi debut

False! A source very close to the development told me.

“There is no way Vijay’s debut will go digital. Karan Johar has made the Telugu star a promise that his Bollywood debut would be no less than spectacular. Liger would release only in theatres and on the same level and volume of theatres and screens as Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi,” a source close to Karan Johar informs me.

It’s not as though Karan Johar is opposed to digital releases. “He is all for it. But content for OTT from Dharma would be very different from the big-screen projects. So no, Liger won’t be released on the streaming platforms although the amount being offered by the digital platform is what a Shah Rukh Khan or Salman Khan film would normally get.”

In Liger, Deverakonda turns into a full-fledged action star. He plays a mixed martial artiste who is out to avenge the wrong done to his family.

Bellbottom can be another Rs. 100 crore grosser for Akshay Kumar, feels trade; but terms and conditions apply

The release of the much awaited film, Bellbottom, is less than a month away. Two weeks ago, the makers of the Akshay Kumar starrer announced that the action thriller would release in cinemas on July 27. The announcement happened at a time when the Covid-19 cases were steadily reducing. The Maharashtra government had announced that those cities and districts that fall under Level 1 and Level 2 will be permitted to open cinemas. Other states too seemed to be relaxing restrictions. Hence, it was expected that almost everything will open up by July 27. Sadly, in the last 10 days, the news surrounding the Delta Plus variant has made the governments cautious. The Maharashtra government has done away with Level 1 and Level 2 and reintroduced certain curbs. The trade, industry and fans are now wondering if enough cinemas would be open by July 27 to release Bellbottom.

Possible box office outcome of Bellbottom

We asked trade experts what they feel about its potential at the box office, provided all cinemas are open across India, at 50% occupancy. Akshaye Rathi, film exhibitor and distributor, says, “If all India is open at 50% occupancy and every screen where it deserves to be played plays the film, then I think the scope is terrific. Subject to the film releasing across all theatres and how the film is, Bellbottom certainly has the potential to do over Rs. 100 crore.”

Girish Johar, producer and film business analyst, in agreement, says, “If all India opens at 50% and the situation is a bit more normal, then it definitely has the potential to do another century for Akshay Kumar. Bellbottom after all is looking very promising, sleek and upmarket-ish.”

Trade analyst Atul Mohan observes, “It’s a big film, starring Akshay Kumar. His last film Laxmii (2020) continues to get good numbers on satellite. Bellbottom, moreover, gives a feel of Airlift (2016) and Baby (2015), and Akshay hasn’t been in this space for sometime. And it should be patriotic. And down South, we saw how some films worked big time recently. Toh log Bellbottom dekhne jaa sakte hai.”

At present, cinemas are permitted to open in Gujarat, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana. Assuming theatres are open only in these states on July 27, will it be feasible to release Bellbottom? Trade analyst Taran Adarsh says, “If Mumbai and its suburbs are not open, how would they release the film? It’ll be difficult.” Akshaye Rathi also agrees, “Business will be limited if the prevailing situation continues.”

Mumbai, Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh: huge contributors to the domestic box office

Mumbai and its satellite cities along with Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh contribute a major chunk of business in today’s times. And these regions aren’t open yet. Akshaye Rathi remarks, “Mumbai, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and East Punjab in all contribute 50%.” Taran Adarsh meanwhile estimates that “almost 60% of business comes from Mumbai and its satellite cities, Pune and Delhi-NCR. Delhi-NCR belt is a huge contributor because of the density of multiplexes. The business gets curtailed if these two territories don’t open. Then the producers will have to rethink. They perhaps are planning what to do next or perhaps, they’ll be clueless. The question will be best answered by them.”

Girish Johar also confirms that these places contribute massively. Atul Mohan states, “Mumbai, Delhi-NCR and UP are the biggest markets. The rest of the states contribute but not much. The maximum business happens in Mumbai, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. And if this belt is not open, toh fir release karke matlab hi nahi banta.” Girish Johar adds, “If cinemas in Maharashtra, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana are not open, then the business will be severely affected.”

Will multiplexes agree to the OTT window rule?

The other challenge in front of Bellbottom makers is to convince exhibitors to let them arrive early on Amazon Prime. Pre-pandemic, the multiplex chains were adamant that producers can release their films on OTT only 8 weeks after theatrical release. Off late, they have softened their stand and allowed Roohi (2021) to release on Netflix within 4 weeks. Even Mumbai Saga (2021) and Saina (2021) arrived early. But in the case of Bellbottom, there are reports that the makers want to arrive early, within 20 days on OTT. This decision hasn’t gone down well with the multiplex chains.

On this, Akshaye Rathi opines, “There has not been any united call taken by any exhibition sector. Each cinema and each multiplex chain will decide on its own, whether they are okay with a shorter window than normal. If that’s the case, it needs to be seen what kind of benefit in commercial terms is being offered to the exhibitors etc. If the producers are expecting something exceptional after the way cinemas have bled, then some incentive would also have to be provided to the exhibitors. The exhibition sector needs to set the right precedent and not give in to any irrational demands.”

Girish Johar states, “It’s a catch 22 situation. The makers have unveiled the release date. The hope is that the four-week window between theatrical and OTT is not breached. The moment it is breached, every producer would demand the same. It’s a very difficult situation honestly for cinemas because if they open, they’ll need to decide whether or not to play or whether they should stick to their stand.”

Taran Adarsh says, “Ideally, there should be a sufficient gap. The multiplexes and the producers will need to sit across the table and sort it out. A 2 or 3-week gap between theatrical and digital holds no value. Why would viewers spend money in a cinema hall when they have a subscription to a particular OTT platform and they know the film will be out on it in a fortnight or 20 days? So if the gap is sufficient, then I think that it’ll be a win-win situation for the producers, exhibitors and also for the OTT platform.” He adds, “I think 4 weeks is the minimum gap.”

Girish Johar also agrees that “the business will be affected if it comes on OTT within 4 weeks.” He exults, “The situation needs to be analysed first. Will Bellbottom be allowed to have a 1500-2000 screen release? Or are the makers getting to release only in say 30, or 40 or 50 screens due to Covid restrictions in most parts of India? For the latter situation, the multiplexes would rather not play the film as it won’t be practical. This will also give them a chance to show the world that they are sticking to their four-week rule. But if Bellbottom manages to get a wide release and a chain like PVR can release it in 500 screens, then the multiplex owner would think ‘Chalo film laga dete hai. At least mera business roll toh ho raha hai. Kuch log toh aa rahe hai’. They might remove the shows once it’s out on digital.”

Atul Mohan meanwhile says, “The multiplexes need to change with the times. The need of the hour is such that they need to relax the window. Those who want to see the film would not wait for the OTT premiere and instead, rush to watch it in cinemas. Those who are not interested would anyway watch the film whenever it arrives on digital. So theatrically, Bellbottom can still do well.”

Bellbottom can be another Rs. 100 crore grosser for Akshay Kumar, feels trade; but terms and conditions apply

Should Bellbottom release on July 27?

Amidst the uncertainty, is it fair for Bellbottom to release on July 27? Or should it be pushed ahead? Akshaye Rathi says, “Right now, all we can do is hope and pray for the best. There’s a degree of uncertainty because of the Delta Plus variant. I am hopeful, especially after reading about studies that the two vaccines available in India – Covishield and Covaxin – are effective against the variant. So hopefully, things will be under control and businesses should resume soon.”

Taran Adarsh tells, “I am sure the producer must be wondering what steps they take - whether they should postpone or stick to the date. I am sure there’ll be clarity in this regard by the first week of July. But when you have announced that your film is going to release on July 27, then you have to begin your promotions. But how do you do that? Should they begin and then stop, in case things don’t go as planned as it happened in the case of Sooryavanshi last year and even Thalaivi in the recent past? So it’s a wait and watch situation right now as to how things unfold in July.”

Girish Johar states, “It all depends on the pace of vaccination. Maharashtra has been at the forefront as it has vaccinated more than 3 crore people. It also depends on consumer confidence. The problem is that ICMR guidelines are quite strict when it comes to indoor activities in air-conditioned environments. That’s why the state governments are allowing cinema halls at the very last to restart.” As for Atul Mohan, he says, “The situation is critical. If the cases increase, then it’ll be difficult for the film to make it to cinemas.”

The future won’t be as gloomy

However, the trade experts feel that things are sure to get better for the cinema business. Akshaye Rathi makes an observation, “Just today I was out at a restaurant. The number of people out there clearly showed the pent up demand among consumers, for any and every avenue of outdoor recreation. It has given me a lot of confidence that when cinemas do open up and a big-ticket film releases, people will throng to the theatres, thus ensuring good numbers at the box office. It’s only a matter of time. Once the whole scenario around the third wave and Delta Plus variant settles and big-ticket movies start releasing, there will be a storm at the box office.”

Girish Johar specifically speaks about Bellbottom, “They can score overseas. It seems to be an overseas friendly film as its look is that of a high-end film. And the foreign markets in the USA, UAE, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand etc are open. So Bellbottom has an advantage. And hopefully, if Delhi and Mumbai open up by July 27, fir toh makers ke liye sone pe suhaga ho jaayega.” Taran Adarsh also admitted that looking at overseas business, one can hope that things will improve in India in the future.

Atul Mohan signs off with a very interesting argument, “Compared to last year, the situation is a little better now due to the vaccination. People are slowly getting used to going out to public places. However, the fear is still there, especially over going to cinemas. Cinema kahin na kahin culprit lagne laga hai. Restaurants are riskier as you are touching the plates and cutlery served to you by the staff. In cinemas, you can walk in using contactless technology, sit on your seat, watch the film and leave. In restaurants, you are even removing your mask. Andar se kaun kaise khaana prepare kar ke la raha hai, iske baare mein kisi ko koi idea nahi hai. I am not trying to defame the F&B industry but it’s important to draw comparisons. The way cinemas have been treated, it is giving out an impression that theatres bahut khatarnaak jagah hai.

Akshay Kumar and Bell Bottom team gets an offer of additional Rs. 30 crores from Amazon Prime Video for an early OTT premiere

Bollywood Hungama had exclusively informed our readers that Akshay Kumar and the team of Bell Bottom have decided to opt for an early premiere on Amazon Prime Video. In our scoop, we revealed that Bell Bottom will premiere on the digital world within 3 weeks of its release date in the theatres. The newsbreak created a stir in the trade and as expected the multiplex association decided to revolt against the strategy of early OTT premiere.

Akshay Kumar and Bell Bottom team gets an offer of additional Rs. 30 crores from Amazon Prime Video for an early OTT premiere

According to trade sources, the multiplex owners had decided to raise their concerns on the premiere in such a short timeframe on OTT. And now we have another scoop. A highly placed source has informed us that the team of Bell Bottom has received an offer of a premium pricing from Amazon Prime Video if they decide on an early premiere. "If the film premieres within 3 weeks of release, Amazon Prime Video will pay the Bell Bottom team an additional Rs. 30 crores over and above their signed deal [the conventional premiere pattern of 6 to 8 weeks]," the source informed Bollywood Hungama.

This is a big amount for the team of Bell Bottom, as the theatrical revenues are expected to be low given the pandemic scenario. It's the magnitude of money that's too lucrative for them to reject and hence, they have more or less zeroed in on this release plan. As it is, the film would do miniscule business post the 2 week run given the current pandemic. So it's better to grab the additional Rs. 30 crores and make it a win and win scenario for producers. Even exhibitors would get some fresh content to screen," the source explained.

While through this, the producers are in the plus making profits, the exhibition sector is divided as everyone in the industry is discounting the fact that the exhibition sector has been the worst hit in the pandemic. "While it's a profitable move for producers, the exhibitors might lose out on the audience. Why would anyone risk to watch a film in theatres if it's available for free in less than 20 days? The single screens are bleeding and such a move will hamper their business further in the longer run. Short OTT window would mean faster death of single screens, as it would open up another avenue for producers to mint money. Today, it's Bell Bottom, tomorrow, it could be anyone else."

In the new concept photos, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook embrace the summer vibe in denims, overalls, white tank tops setting the bar too high for casuals. But, interestingly, the concept is car washing at gas station, something which we have watched in movies, but literally, no one predicted BTS would imbibe this vibe. They are definitely 'hot like summer'.

Meanwhile, BTS' dance-pop anthem 'Butter', which released on May 21, is at No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart for five consecutive weeks, making BTS the first Asian act in history to achieve this milestone. The group has broken the tie with Aerosmith and surpassed their 23-year-old record with the track 'I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing'.

It becomes the group's longest-leading No. 1 hit, surpassing the three-week run of 'Dynamite'. BTS has dropped one instrumental and three remixes of 'Butter' - Hotter Remix, followed by Sweeter and Cooler remixes. The group is basking in the glory of their latest English single 'Butter' which has been topping the Billboard Hot 100 charts for four consecutive weeks. 'Butter' single CD will be released in two versions - Peaches and Cream.
