The rumours quickly gained traction online, prompting fans to speculate about possible tension between the two actors. However, Bobby has now addressed the reports and clarified that there was never any such issue on set.

She works very hard. Alia was also prepared for all the fight sequences that she had to do. Toh mujhe nahi samaj mein aaya kisne kya soch ke ye sab rumours likhe. I can't go around proving the point to anybody. So it is not true. Log Instagram se influenced rehte hai lekin uspe 90 per cent kahaniyaan sahi nahi hoti hai,” he added.

Darlings fame Jasmeet K. Reen replaces Nupur Asthana as director of The Royals Season 2: Report

Netflix India’s romantic comedy series The Royals is set to undergo a significant creative shift in its second season. According to an exclusive report by Variety India, filmmaker Jasmeet K. Reen has been brought on board to direct the upcoming season of the Ishaan Khatter-led show.

Reen, who made her directorial debut with the critically acclaimed film Darlings in 2022, will take over directing responsibilities from Nupur Asthana. Asthana, who helmed the first season alongside Priyanka Ghose, is understood to have stepped away from the project due to prior commitments. She is currently working on another Netflix series backed by Ekta Kapoor's production banner. Priyanka Ghose is expected to continue her association with The Royals.

Reportedly, pre-production on the second season is currently underway, with filming likely to begin in July 2026.

The change in direction comes shortly after reports suggested that Bhumi S. Pednekar, who played the female lead opposite Ishaan Khatter in the first season, will not return for the next chapter. It is speculated that her exit has been linked to a broader creative restructuring of the series.

Reen gained recognition with Darlings, starring Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah and Vijay Varma, which received widespread critical appreciation following its release. She is also attached to direct a period drama based on the life of legendary actress Madhubala. The project, backed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, will reportedly feature Dhurandhar actress Sara Arjun in the lead role.

According to reports, Reen is expected to complete filming for The Royals S2 before beginning work on the Madhubala biopic later this year.

According to the makers, the story is entirely set in Mumbai and aims to explore themes of friendship, love, identity, and ambition through the lens of underground and contemporary music culture. MEGA EXCLUSIVE: Alia Bhatt-Sharvari starrer Alpha preponed; to now release on July 3

Fans of Alia Bhatt and Sharvari are in for a treat as their much-awaited film, Alpha, will now arrive earlier than scheduled. The action entertainer was earlier scheduled to release on July 10. Bollywood Hungama has now exclusively learned that the film will arrive in cinemas a week earlier, on July 3.

A source in a prominent multiplex chain told Bollywood Hungama, “July 3 has emerged as an apt date to bring Alpha to cinemas since Dhamaal 4, which was scheduled to release on the same day, has now been pushed to July 17. With no major release planned for July 3, producer Aditya Chopra felt it was the right date to bring Alpha to theatres.”

A trade expert commented, “Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is also releasing on July 17, along with Dhamaal 4. As a result, Alpha will now get two weeks to make the most of an open run at the box office, especially since no Bollywood film is scheduled to hit theatres on July 10.”

Alpha is the next film from the YRF Spy Universe. Besides Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, the film also stars Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor. It is directed by Shiv Rawail, who previously helmed the globally acclaimed series The Railway Men.

A few days ago, Bollywood Hungama had exclusively reported that Alia Bhatt’s character in Alpha is unlike anything seen before in the YRF Spy Universe. This makes things a lot more interesting because she isn’t playing a spy that YRF has so far given to the audience with every film.

“Alpha is definitely a major turn for the YRF Spy Universe,” said a senior trade source familiar with the developments of the film to Bollywood Hungama. “It presents a lead character who is an assassin, not a spy that we have seen all leads play earlier. For the first time, Aditya Chopra is giving us an origin story that introduces a character that is more grey, more of an anti-hero in tonality. It is refreshing because otherwise it would be extremely boring for us to watch,” said the source.

Rs. 400 crore SHOCKER! Vashu Bhagnani's Puja Entertainment sues Tips, Tauranis and David Dhawan; seeks Rs. 100 crore more over Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai song row

Bollywood Hungama has been at the forefront in reporting the feud between producer Vashu Bhagnani and the makers of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai over the use of the songs ‘Chunari Chunari’ and ‘Ishq Sona Hai’ from Biwi No 1 (1999). Now, it has come to light that Vashu’s production house, Puja Entertainment (India) Ltd, has filed a whopping Rs. Rs. 400 crore suit before Bombay High Court against Tips Industries Limited, Ramesh Taurani, Kumar S Taurani and filmmaker David Dhawan over the alleged unauthorized use and alleged exploitation of iconic aforementioned songs in the upcoming Varun Dhawan-starrer, slated for a release on June 5.

As per the press statement, the suit, filed through Counsels V K Dubey Associates, seeks urgent and sweeping injunctive relief restraining the release, distribution, exhibition, streaming and further commercial exploitation of the film and its promotional material containing the disputed songs, including 'Chunnari Chunnari' and 'Ishq Sona Hai'. The Court has reportedly permitted the filing of the proceedings and has kept it for hearing soon. As per the press statement, it could be ‘one of the most explosive copyright battles in recent Bollywood history’.

Apart from seeking a complete injunction against the alleged infringing use of the songs, Puja Entertainment has also sought directions for the removal of the songs ‘Chunnari Chunnari’ and ‘Ishq Sona Hai’ from the film and its promotional material, along with a demand for a change of the title, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. The production house has further demanded an additional Rs. 100 crores as damages in the event that Tips Industries Limited and David Dhawan fail to comply with the said demands and continue exploiting the disputed works. Puja Entertainment (India) Ltd has further alleged that the defendants have unlawfully exploited valuable intellectual property rights despite allegedly having no authority, assignment or licence to commercially use the original audio-visual works. The production house contended that the alleged infringement strikes at the very foundation of proprietary and commercial rights vested in the original cinematographic works associated with the late 1990s blockbuster banner.

The press statement also said that leading Counsel V K Dubey, representing Puja Entertainment, confirmed that after considering the entire scenario, the Honourable Court has decided to list the matter for hearing shortly, and the matter is presently sub judice.

SCOOP: Salman Khan turns Cupid in Ranveer Singh-Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3 war; superstar steps in to broker peace

Salman Khan is rightfully called the Godfather of the Indian film industry, as the superstar is always there for people in their tough times. As the industry is divided over the Ranveer Singh vs Farhan Akhtar conflict over Don 3, Salman Khan has now stepped in to ensure that the two parties amicably resolve their issues without creating a media circus.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, "Salman Khan is fond of Ranveer Singh, and is equally fond of the Akhtars too. He picked up the call on both the stakeholders, and has asked them to resolve their issues without hurting the future of their respective projects. He explained to Farhan about creative differences being a common thing in the industry for decades, and he also had a long chat with Ranveer, understanding his stance. He is playing the cupid to ensure that no one feels sabotaged."

The source further informs that Salman also informed both parties to think as one industry, and work on another project together, once the heat of this debate settles down.

Both Farhan and Ranveer have taken the words from Salman Khan seriously, and are thinking to come together and amicably arrive at a solution without creating a controversy. He doesn't want any legal turbulence between Ranveer and Farhan, nor does he want the film bodies to take any uninformed decision. Apparently, he has asked the two to sort out their differences without involving any third party, which includes himself as well.

Salman is standing by Farhan for the losses, and also pushing Ranveer to start a new project to capitalise on the historic success of Dhurandhar.

SCOOP: Sanjay Dutt asks Rajkumar Santoshi to direct Khalnayak Returns; veteran filmmaker politely declines the offer

On April 24, Sanjay Dutt, Aksha Kamboj, Executive Chairperson of Aspect Global (Aspect Entertainment), Subhash Ghai and Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios announced Khalnayak Returns at an event in Mumbai. The intro teaser of Khalnayak Returns was unveiled at this event, and it received a thunderous response. Sanjay Dutt looked dashing, and the use of the iconic Khalnayak theme added to the excitement. Since Subhash Ghai had directed the original Khalnayak (1993), it was widely assumed that the Showman would return to helm Khalnayak Returns as well. Soon, Subhash Ghai confessed that he won’t be donning the director’s hat again.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Sanjay Dutt was keen that Rajkumar Santoshi should direct Khalnayak Returns. He felt that Raj ji has an understanding of commercial cinema and would be able to do justice. Moreover, the two powerhouse, talented individuals have never worked together. Hence, Sanjay Dutt felt that it would be great to finally join hands with Rajkumar Santoshi, that too for a special project. Accordingly, he met the director and offered him the film.”

The source continued, “However, Rajkumar Santoshi politely and respectfully declined the offer. He’s currently busy providing final touches to his film Lahore 1947, starring Sunny Deol. He’s also written scripts that he wants to pitch to Sunny as well as Aamir Khan. Hence, he told Sanjay Dutt that he doesn’t have the time to direct Khalnayak Returns.”

The source added, “However, Rajkumar Santoshi was touched by Sanjay Dutt’s gesture. He wished him all the best and appreciated his look and swag in the intro teaser. Meanwhile, Sanju sir is now considering other filmmakers to direct Khalnayak Returns.”

At the Khalnayak Returns event, Sanjay Dutt revealed, “I got the thought of making Khalnayak part 2 in jail (smiles). I used to play music inside the prison. The inmates used to insist only on the songs of Khalnayak. I asked them, ‘Agar Khalnayak phir se banaye, toh kaun dekhna chahega?’. All 4000 prisoners said in unison that they would love to see it. I told them, ‘Send me a one-pager idea of the film’. It took me a lot of time to read 4000 pages! One of the ideas that I got appealed to me.”

BREAKING: Reliance Industries Ltd moves Bombay High Court to halt release of Carry On Jatta 4

The upcoming Punjabi film Carry On Jatta 4 has landed in legal trouble ahead of its scheduled theatrical release on June 26, 2026. According to a report in the May 23, 2026 issue of Atul Mohan’s Complete Cinema magazine, Reliance Industries Ltd. has approached the Bombay High Court seeking to restrain the release of the much-awaited comedy entertainer.

As per the article, the matter reportedly arises from a contractual dispute linked to a tripartite arrangement involving Reliance Industries Ltd., Panorama Studios International Ltd. and Humble Motion Pictures. The dispute has now reached the court, with Reliance seeking urgent protection in connection with the film’s rights and release.

The matter came up before Justice Abhay Ahuja, who permitted Reliance to correct certain procedural defects in its commercial plaint. The court also granted Reliance liberty to approach the Vacation Court for appropriate relief.

During the hearing, the defence raised objections to the maintainability of the suit, pointing out non-compliance with the verification requirements for commercial disputes. Senior Advocate Venkatesh Dhond, appearing for Reliance, sought a status quo order, expressing apprehension that the defendants could create third-party rights over the property.

On the other hand, Senior Advocate Ashish Kamat, appearing for Panorama Studios, opposed the request for status quo. He argued that third-party rights had already been created before Reliance moved its application before the court.

With the film’s release date already announced, the legal proceedings could become crucial in determining whether Carry On Jatta 4 faces any delay or hurdle before its theatrical arrival.

About Carry On Jatta 4

Kartavya, Dhurandhar Raw and Undekha, and Desi Bling power Netflix India’s global streak with 31+ million viewing hours combined

High-stakes action, larger-than-life drama, glamour, emotion and binge-worthy entertainment - this week, Indian titles across genres are taking over Netflix’s global charts in a big way. From blockbuster crime thrillers to spy-action dramas to breakout unscripted hits, audiences everywhere are diving into stories packed with spectacle, heart and cultural flavour, proving that entertainment from India is resonating not just at home, but with viewers across the globe too.

Leading the momentum is Kartavya, which climbs to #1 on the Global Top 10 Non-English Films list this week, after ranking at #2 last week. Starring Saif Ali Khan, Rasika Dugal and Sanjay Mishra, the film amassed 16.3 million viewing hours worldwide in the past two weeks. Adding to the blockbuster streak Dhurandhar: Raw & Undekha, which landed at #5 on the same list with 4.9 million hours viewed globally. Meanwhile, Desi Bling, the glitzy unscripted series serving up ambition, luxury and unapologetic desi swagger has emerged as a breakout favourite, trending at #6 on the Global Top 10 Non-English TV chart with 10.4 million viewing hours.

The success of these titles adds to the growing global momentum for Netflix India’s diverse slate across genres and formats. India’s presence in the Global Top 10 Non-English list has become increasingly consistent, with at least one Indian title featuring in the ranking every week since 2025. Earlier this year, Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web made history as the first Indian series to hit No.1 on Netflix’s Global Non-English TV list, while Kohrra Season 2 stayed on the Global Top 10 Series list for two consecutive weeks with over 1.6 million views and 7.7 million hours watched. Accused (2026) further strengthened this trajectory as the first Indian film to trend in over 70 countries. Originals across languages, including Toaster and South Indian content, including Made In Korea, have been a part of the Non-English Films chart.

Within this continuum, strong recurring presence across weeks has been driven by titles such as Maamla Legal Hai, Hello Baccho, and The Great Indian Kapil Show. Across licensed content like the war-drama film Border 2 trended in the Top 10 Non-English Films across 16 countries with a record 11.1 million viewing hours. Rani Mukherjee starrer Mardaani 3 also recorded 13.7 million viewing hours and was a part of the list, too.

Together, these titles reflect Netflix India’s evolving content strategy: building a slate that spans blockbuster films, premium series, unscripted entertainment, comedy formats and culturally rooted stories that can travel across borders.

SHOCKING: 66 hard disks containing Made In Heaven, Ghost Stories and unreleased footage go missing from Zoya Akhtar-Reema Kagti's Tiger Baby office; staffer allegedly sold drives for Rs. 15,000-20,000 each

A major data-theft case has emerged from Tiger Baby Digital LLP, the production house of filmmakers Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti. As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, as many as 66 hard disks containing important production material have allegedly gone missing from the company’s Bandra office. Some of these drives reportedly contained unreleased footage and work-in-progress content, making the matter serious for the production house.

The complaint was filed by Mehjabeen Mushtaq Shaikh, who works as the executive assistant and HR administrator at the company. Acting on her complaint, the Bandra police registered an FIR against Mohammad Shahid Azim Khan and Ritesh Suresh Shah, a 44-year-old Borivali resident. The police confirmed to Mumbai Mirror that both have been arrested and sent to police custody till May 29.

The issue was discovered on May 21, when the staff needed certain hard disks for ongoing work but could not find them. This led to an internal check of the office storage area. During the inspection, several hard-disk boxes were allegedly found empty and damaged. The company’s records showed that it had an inventory of 119 hard disks, out of which 66 were allegedly missing.

The scale of the missing material has made the case even more alarming. The hard disks reportedly had storage capacities between 16TB and 72TB. They contained raw shooting footage, edited scenes, post-production files, advertisement projects, backups, archival material and completed movie-related data. Some of the content was connected to film and OTT projects, while some was still unreleased.

Investigators have said that Khan allegedly admitted during internal questioning that he stole 24 hard disks over the last five months. These drives were allegedly sold to Shah for Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000 each. The police also suspect that some of the hard disks may have later entered the grey market.

The data on the stolen drives reportedly included material linked to projects such as Made In Heaven and Ghost Stories, along with advertisement campaigns for beauty and digital-content companies.

The police are now trying to find out whether the data was copied, accessed, transferred or leaked before the drives disappeared. Cyber experts may be asked to examine if any of the material has been circulated online or misused.

Meanwhile, investigators are also checking whether any other employee had a role in the matter. However, officials have not reached any conclusion on that aspect yet.

Now, Ranveer Singh’s official spokesperson has issued a detailed statement, emphasising that the actor has deliberately maintained silence throughout the controversy out of respect for the people associated with the franchise.

The statement read, “Ranveer Singh holds the highest regard for the film fraternity and for everyone associated with the Don franchise. Throughout the recent developments surrounding Don 3, he has consciously chosen to maintain silence, believing that professional discussions and personal equations are best handled with dignity, maturity and mutual respect.”

The spokesperson further stated that despite multiple narratives and speculations circulating publicly, Ranveer Singh did not feel the need to engage in public arguments or clarify every rumour.

“While several narratives and speculations have surfaced over time, Ranveer has never considered it necessary to respond publicly or contribute to conjecture. His focus remains firmly on his work and the commitments ahead,” the statement added.

The actor’s team also stressed that Ranveer continues to respect everyone involved in the Don franchise and wishes the film success in the future.

“He continues to hold deep respect and goodwill for all those involved and sincerely wishes the franchise continued success. Choosing restraint and grace in moments like these has always been a conscious decision on his part, and he will continue to maintain the same stance,” the spokesperson concluded.

The statement has now intensified discussions around the Don 3 controversy, with fans divided over the situation. While some have appreciated Ranveer Singh’s decision to remain silent and dignified, others continue to speculate about what may have led to the fallout between the actor and the makers.

As of now, neither Farhan Akhtar nor Excel Entertainment has issued any fresh statement regarding the matter.

Meenakshi Seshadri returns to Mumbai after 30 years, speaks on acting comeback struggles: “I'm managing this journey on my own, without any agency”

Veteran actor Meenakshi Seshadri has revealed that she has officially relocated back to India after spending nearly three decades abroad. The actor, who stepped away from Bollywood at the peak of her career in the late 1990s, shared that she is now looking forward to restarting her journey in the entertainment industry with fresh opportunities in films and OTT platforms.

Meenakshi’s decision to leave the film industry after marriage has remained one of Bollywood’s most discussed exits over the years. In 1995, the actor married investment banker Harish Mysore and moved to the United States, gradually distancing herself from the Hindi film industry despite being one of its leading stars at the time.

On May 25, 2026, Meenakshi shared a heartfelt two-minute-long video on social media, where she opened up about returning to Mumbai and trying to find meaningful acting opportunities once again.

In the video, she said, “A warm Namaste to my growing family of Instagram followers. Today I want to sincerely thank each one of you for your love, encouragement and constant support. After 30 long years, I have relocated back to my Karmabhoomi, Mumbai, India and have stepped once again into the entertainment industry with hope, passion and positivity.”

The actor further shared that she is open to all kinds of roles, as long as they allow her to perform meaningful characters. “I'm really looking forward to meaningful opportunities, whether it's a lead role, supporting character or even a short show. And it doesn't matter as long as it's an impactful performance. It could be films or OTT shows,” she said. Speaking about the kind of work she wishes to pursue, Meenakshi added, “I want to explore roles that challenge me as an artist and help me discover new dimensions of my craft.”

The actor also candidly admitted that while several offers came her way after her return, many projects failed to excite her creatively. “You know, many offers did come my way, but some weren't exciting enough and some simply didn't materialise,” she revealed.

Meenakshi further shared that she is currently managing her comeback independently, without the support of any talent agency. “But I'm managing this journey on my own, without any agency. And your support means everything to me during this phase,” she stated.

Although she has now shifted base to India, the actor clarified that she continues to spend time with her family in the United States. Her post caption also mentioned that she was currently in Boston celebrating her son’s graduation from Harvard University.

I want to share that after my relocation to INDIA I have been working towards more opportunities in the entertainment industry. While there have been offers, they were either not exciting enough or just didn’t work out.”

Meenakshi concluded her message by saying that she is not trying to prove anything to anyone and simply wants to do work that genuinely makes her happy. Her return has already sparked excitement among fans, many of whom are hopeful about seeing the veteran actor back on screen after such a long gap.

Brown teaser out: Karisma Kapoor plays a troubled Kolkata cop in Abhinay Deo's neo-noir thriller, watch

Breaking away from decades of polished on-screen glamour, Bollywood icon Karisma Kapoor is steering her career into highly intense, uncharted territory. Streaming giant ZEE5 has officially unveiled the teaser for its upcoming web series Brown, offering audiences a striking first look at the actress in what is tracking to be her most transformative avatar to date.

Set against a haunting, morally fractured backdrop of Kolkata, Brown is a neo-noir psychological crime thriller that extends far beyond a conventional murder mystery. The teaser introduces Karisma stepping into the boots of Rita Brown, a fiercely resilient officer in the Kolkata Police Force. The gritty visuals and deeply emotionally charged atmosphere immediately set a dark tone, establishing the series as a deeply layered psychological portrait. Dropping her familiar, expressive style for a rugged, stripped-down look, Karisma's first glimpse promises a fearless, unfiltered performance.

As one of the few leading ladies from the '90s who continues to connect effortlessly across generations, Karisma Kapoor has consistently adapted to changing digital storytelling formats. Brown marks one of the boldest narrative shifts of her career as she embraces contemporary character complexities on OTT platforms. Portraying an emotionally fractured officer battling deep-seated personal demons while investigating disturbing metropolitan crimes, the actress takes a dramatic leap into pitch-black storytelling territory.

Kangana Ranaut defends Aishwarya Rai Bachchan amid Cannes criticism: “She is not here to please you”

Actor Kangana Ranaut has come out in support of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan after the latter faced criticism on social media over her appearance at the Cannes Film Festival 2026. Responding to the online discourse surrounding Aishwarya’s fashion choices, Kangana shared a strongly worded note defending the actor and speaking about individuality, self-expression, and the scrutiny faced by women in the public eye.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Kangana posted a photo from Aishwarya’s first Cannes red carpet appearance this year, where the actor was seen wearing a striking blue gown. Sharing her thoughts on the criticism, Kangana wrote, “Fashion and style is a self expression, it is one's own interpretation of life and their attitude, no woman owes anything to anyone, Ash looks great!!”

The actor further criticised those judging Aishwarya’s appearance and questioned the unrealistic standards often imposed on women, especially senior actresses. “Those of you who want to see her any other way, why don't you show what you got?? She is not here to please you, she is glorious,” Kangana added.

Addressing conversations around ageism and representation on international red carpets, Kangana also wrote, “if you are not used to seeing older women on red carpets, get used to them now. Thanks.”

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made her 24th appearance at the Cannes Film Festival this year, continuing her long-standing association with the prestigious global event as the brand ambassador for L'Oréal Paris. Joining her at Cannes was daughter Aaradhya Bachchan, who also made an official appearance alongside her mother at the Lights on Women’s Worth Gala dinner hosted during the festival.

Interestingly, Aishwarya was not the only Bollywood celebrity to face online criticism over fashion choices during Cannes this year. Actor Alia Bhatt, who was also a part of L’Oreal, too found herself at the centre of social media discussions regarding her outfits and overall styling during her appearances at the festival. Several actors, filmmakers, and fans had also stepped forward in support of Alia, highlighting the growing conversations around trolling, unrealistic beauty standards, and personal expression in fashion.

Kangana’s statement has since garnered attention online, with many social media users appreciating her for standing in solidarity with Aishwarya and speaking against age-based criticism directed at women in entertainment and fashion spaces.

FACT CHECK: Paresh Rawal has NOT quit Hera Pheri 3 again; old Bollywood Hungama report from 2025 gets picked up as fresh news

Exactly a year ago, Bollywood Hungama reported what was probably one of the biggest newsbreaks of 2025 – Paresh Rawal had quit Hera Pheri 3. It shocked the trade, the industry, fans and even the team of the film. A few days after this news broke, Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films, the producer of Hera Pheri 3, sued Paresh Rawal for Rs. 25 crores. A couple of days later, Bollywood Hungama published another report stating that Paresh Rawal had returned the signing amount of Rs. 11 lakhs with 15% p.a. interest, along with some additional money for stepping away from the series. A few weeks later, Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar resolved the matter, and the former returned to the franchise. The issue was put to rest and had even become history. But now, amusingly, it is back in the news.

On Saturday, reports started coming in that Paresh Rawal has once again quit Hera Pheri 3. Interestingly, these reports carried the same information that Bollywood Hungama had published exactly a year ago – that Paresh Rawal had returned the signing amount with 15% interest and additional compensation for walking out of the film. CLICK HERE TO READ THE NEWS

Back then, Bollywood Hungama had also reported further details about the development – that the actor was being paid Rs. 15 crores for the film, had received Rs. 11 lakhs as the signing amount and was to receive the balance Rs. 14.89 crores a month after the film’s release. A source had told us then, “The senior actor had reservations about this clause. Also, the film’s principal shoot was to commence sometime next year. This means that Hera Pheri 3 was unlikely to be released before late 2026 or in the year 2027. In short, Paresh would have had to wait for nearly two years to get the rest of his acting fees.”

The same information has now been picked up by certain news outlets, and the source of the information has been attributed to Bollywood Hungama. However, what they forgot to inform readers was that Bollywood Hungama had published this report on May 23, 2025, while these outlets wrote about it exactly a year later, on May 23, 2026!

Another amusing aspect is that the articles mention that Paresh Rawal would have to wait two years to get his acting fees if Hera Pheri 3 is released in late 2026 or 2027. But we are now in 2026. Hence, if the news was actually fresh, he would have to wait just six months or less than a year to receive Rs. 14.89 crores. This itself proves that the information being circulated is a year old.

As expected, the report has spread like wildfire on the internet and has panicked fans. However, they need not worry. Whenever Hera Pheri 3 is made, everyone’s favourite Baburao Ganpatrao Apte will definitely be there to entertain them.

David Dhawan admits he made Chashme Baddoor in ANGER: “I was not getting stars. They didn’t reject the film but they were hesitating”

The David Dhawan Film Festival is going on in PVR and to celebrate the legendary director, the multiplex chain organized a fireside chat. It involved David Dhawan talking about his life and films with his son, Varun Dhawan. Incidentally, both are also gearing up for the release of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. The comic caper will arrive in cinemas on June 5. Towards the end of the event, David Dhawan opened up about the hardships he faced and how actors sometimes declined to work with him.

David Dhawan said, “If a director’s film doesn’t work, toh actor usko dekh ke kahin aur muud jaayega. Actor ki jaat hi aisi hoti hai! Actor kisi ka saga nahin hai.” Varun was amused and also awkward, as he’s an actor. It also raised laughs.

David continued, “But there’s one actor I worked with who never bothered ki iski film chali ya nahin. That actor is Govinda. I remember once when my film didn’t work, I was upset. He told me, ‘Tu script likh na’! Then I wrote Shola Aur Shabnam (1992).”

Varun asked him, “Was there a time when you were not getting stars?” He replied, “Yes, I made Chashme Baddoor (2013). Bahut gusse mein banayi thi maine. Chintu ji (Rishi Kapoor) was there in the film as well. He told me, ‘I don’t have a role’. I replied, ‘Aap karo, yaar’! He did it for me (smiles).”

Varun then asked, “Did you face rejection from some actors?” David explained, “No, but I could feel it. They were hesitating. I wanted to get out of that rut of stars, which was difficult. When one is able to write a good script and get good songs, then that person can make a film with newcomers.”

Chashme Baddoor starred Ali Zafar, Divyenndu and Siddharth. It marked the debut of Taapsee Pannu in Hind cinema.

Akshay Kumar teams up with Vipul Shah for alien action thriller Samuk; Hollywood creature and action experts join project

Actor Akshay Kumar is set to headline a new large-scale sci-fi action thriller titled Samuk, directed by Kanishk Varma and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah. Positioned as an ambitious alien survival thriller, the film is currently in development and is expected to go on floors soon.

The project marks Akshay Kumar’s return to a full-scale action role and will reportedly combine elements of survival horror, military realism, and alien thriller storytelling. The makers are also bringing together an international technical team with experience across several Hollywood franchise films. Speaking about the project, producer Vipul Shah said, “We always try to challenge ourselves with different genres, and Samuk is something Indian cinema hasn’t attempted before. Our aim is to create a world-class alien thriller for audiences.”

Director Kanishk Varma, known for projects such as Sanak and Inside Edge, revealed that the idea for the film emerged from his interest in survival thrillers and elite security force worlds. “Samuk was born from my love for the SPG world and survival thrillers like Alien and Predator. Bringing those influences together with Akshay sir has been surreal,” he said. The filmmaker also emphasised the use of practical effects over fully CGI-driven visuals. “I always wanted the creature to feel physically real on set. That old-school tactile horror is what made films like Alien timeless,” he added.

Joining the project is acclaimed Hollywood creature effects designer Alec Gillis, whose filmography includes work on the Alien and Predator franchises, along with films such as Starship Troopers, It, and Tremors. Gillis, who previously worked under legendary filmmaker Stan Winston, described the collaboration as creatively exciting.

“Working with Kanishk has been fantastic because he genuinely loves practical creature filmmaking. Our goal is to create an alien predator unlike anything audiences have seen before,” Gillis said. He further added, “Together Kanishk and I designed the title character, which is truly a unique alien horror. In an era of CGI and AI, it is gratifying that directors and audiences still value handcrafted, human-made traditional monsters.”

Praising Akshay Kumar’s screen presence, Gillis said, “He has the physicality of Jason Statham and the likeability of Tom Cruise. The challenge is creating a monster worthy of facing him. My goal is to create an alien nemesis in Samuk whose energy and screen charisma equal Mr. Kumar's. Defeating this new classic movie monster will not be an easy task, even for him.”

The action sequences for the film will be overseen by British stunt coordinator Luke Tumber, whose credits include the Mission: Impossible films, Star Wars, No Time To Die, and the Venom franchise. Speaking about the collaboration, Tumber said, “Kanishk has a very clear vision for the action, and Vipul Shah wants the scale to feel truly Hollywood-level. Working with Akshay Kumar on this kind of grounded, high-intensity action film is incredibly exciting.”

He added, “This project represents an exciting fusion of international stunt expeakshay kumarrtise, visionary filmmaking, and authentic action cinema, and I'm proud to be part of bringing that vision to life. Together, we aim to deliver a film that combines powerful storytelling with cutting-edge live-action sequences that will resonate with audiences internationally.”

Akshay Kumar also confirmed his involvement in the project, saying, “Yes, I've signed this film. I found the script and subject of Samuk fascinating. Alien thriller is a totally new genre for me and also for our films. I am very excited about it.”

Co-produced by Aashin A Shah, Samuk is being developed as a pan-Indian theatrical project with a planned 2027 release window.

BREAKING: CBFC censors ‘Rajasthan’, ‘M***r C**d’, middle finger visuals in Ram Charan-Janhavi Kapoor starrer Peddi

The much-awaited film Peddi is all set to release on June 4 and its makers have completed the censor process way in advance. In this story, Bollywood Hungama will feature on the cuts given to the Pan-India entertainer’s original Telugu version.

Peddi was passed by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a U/A 16+ certificate. However, the makers were asked to make several changes. Words like ‘Loudesh’, ‘Bokka’, ‘Lambdi kodaka’, ‘M***r C**d’, ‘Dongamunda kodaka’ and ‘Kalchi padi denguta’ were asked to be muted or modified. The words ‘Saruku saman’ in the ‘Chikiri Chikiri’ song were asked to be modified. In the second half, the word ‘Rajasthan’ and a reference to a community were asked to be deleted.

Thankfully, no visual cut was imposed on the film. In other words, the action and violent scenes remain intact. The only modification requested was to cover the shot of the middle finger with CG visuals.

Once these changes were made, the makers of Peddi were handed over the censor certificate on May 22. The length of the film, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 189.00 minutes. In other words, Peddi is 3 hours and 9 minutes long.

Peddi stars Ram Charan, Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu, Boman Irani and others. It is written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana, produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru and co-produced by Ishan Saksena. Oscar-winning A R Rahman has composed the songs. Jio Studios will handle the North India distribution. It’ll also release in the IMAX format.

At the trailer launch, Ram Charan said, “Last 25-30 days, we were doing kushti and pehelwan shoots. And I asked our director Buchi Babu Sana to get trained artists, but he got real pehelwans. While shooting, I got a cartilage tear, but that’s fine. It’s worth it, and it’s a beautiful memory of Peddi.”

EXCLUSIVE: Vashu Bhagnani vs Tips-Dhawans row gets UGLIER; a source hits back, "Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai has NOTHING to do with Biwi No. 1; Dhawans paid Rs. 16 cr. from their own pocket to save Coolie No. 1 vendors from suffering"

Vashu Bhagnani held an explosive press conference on May 22 with select media members, alleging that producer Ramesh Taurani of Tips can’t use the songs from the former’s film, Biwi No 1 (1999). The producer also alleged that the story of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai may be similar to Biwi No. 1. Meanwhile, Bollywood Hungama spoke to a source who provided the other side's version.

Bollywood Hungama spoke to a source, who provided the other side’s version. The source said on condition of anonymity, “Vashu Bhagnani has lost the case in the Supreme Court today. That itself explains why the Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai team is confidently going ahead with the trailer launch tomorrow. If there was any merit in his allegations, would the makers have gone ahead in this manner? Mr. Bhagnani said that he planned to make Biwi No 1 Part 2 with David and Varun. However, Varun had never signed any film with Puja Entertainment after Coolie No 1, not even Biwi No 1. So where is the question of Varun being committed to such a film?”

In the press conference, Vashu Bhagnani claimed, “I was just a namesake producer on Coolie No 1 (2020). It was David ji who 100% handled the production and expenses. I paid David ji big money to make that film; almost Rs. 70 crores, which was not even his worth.”

Reacting sharply to this, the source said, “This is laughable. Vendors were not paid for Coolie No 1. It was Mr. Bhagnani who had to pay them. Yet, the Dhawans ended up paying nearly Rs. 16 crores from their own pocket to clear vendor dues because their reputation was being dragged into the mess. They did it so that people who worked on the film were not left helpless. And now, instead of acknowledging that, Mr. Bhagnani is making these claims in public.”

The source further remarked, “Also, David Dhawan was never paid Rs. 70 crores. If that had happened, David Dhawan would have been the highest-paid director in the country at that time. Can Mr. Bhagnani show any document or put any proof in the public domain to back this claim? Let him release the agreement, the payment proof or any paperwork. Till then, this remains nothing but a wild claim.”

The source continued, “He’s saying that the Dhawans did not call him. But did he call them? He also didn’t. Some people were trying to reach out to Mr. Bhagnani, but he didn’t answer their calls. So to now suggest that only one side should have reached out is unfair. Communication is a two-way street. It is also bewildering that it was known months ago that ‘Chunari Chunari’ is a part of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. Yet, he decided to file the case just a month before the release. Why wait till the last minute? Why create noise only when the film’s trailer launch and release campaign are about to begin? The timing itself raises questions.”

The source then added, “Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is in no way connected to Biwi No 1. That film was about a married man having an extramarital affair. Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is about a double pregnancy. The two stories are poles apart. Just because David Dhawan is directing the film and a popular old song is being used, one cannot randomly claim that it is a remake or spiritual successor of Biwi No 1. Anyway, the trailer will be out tomorrow, after which everyone will know the truth. Once the trailer is out and people see that the film has nothing to do with Biwi No 1, will Mr. Bhagnani and Puja Entertainment apologize?”

The source signed off on a pointed note, saying, “The Dhawans have maintained silence for long, but that should not be mistaken for weakness. They have protected their dignity, paid people from their own pockets when required and moved on. But if false narratives are being created now, then the facts also need to come out.”

Also Read: EXPLOSIVE: Vashu Bhagnani claims, “I suffered Rs. 27 cr loss on Coolie No 1; Varun Dhawan never bothered to ask about it…paid David ji Rs. 70 cr…he was to make Biwi No 1 part 2 with me”

Namit Malhotra contemplating a masterstroke to prepone Ramayana to October 30, 2026, a week before Diwali

The Namit Malhotra-produced Ramayana is all set for a Diwali 2026 release. For the film, the producer has put together a magnum opus star cast by getting Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi and Sunny Deol together under the direction of Nitesh Tiwari. The first teaser dropped earlier in the year, and grabbed eyeballs all across.

And now, Bollywood Hungama has learnt that Ramayana: Part One won't release on Diwali. Before one concludes, let us confirm that the film release could be pre-poned by a week and it might now hit the big screen on October 30, 2026. "Namit Malhotra wants the film to establish itself before the Diwali period. He wants the word of mouth to spread all across, so that the business peaks in the second week. He is here to redefine business by not just bringing a pre-Diwali release, but also a film that scores a bigger second week than the first due to the festive period. The conversation to pre-pone by a week is underway, and a final decision will be taken soon," a source told Bollywood Hungama anonymously.

The source also informs that the release date will be announced once the makers lock the distribution deal for Ramayana. Reportedly, they are negotiating a Rs. 450 crore offer from top distributors, and a final call on whom to sell the film will be taken shortly.

Ramayana's second part will meanwhile release on Diwali 2027, a year after the first instalment of the epic.

Actors Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal are set to attend the official launch of New Zealand’s first-ever Indian film festival, The Indian Film Festival of New Zealand (TIFFNZ), on June 2, 2026. The launch event will also feature a special screening of Girls Will Be Girls, the first feature film produced by the actor-producer duo, which has previously received recognition at several international film festivals, including Sundance and the Independent Spirit Awards.

TIFFNZ is scheduled to debut in October 2026 and is being positioned as New Zealand’s first dedicated Indian film festival. Founded by Petrina D’Rozario, the festival aims to celebrate Indian cinema while encouraging stronger creative and cultural collaborations between India and New Zealand.

The launch event is expected to place significant focus on Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal, who have increasingly expanded their presence beyond acting into film production. Over the years, the duo has backed projects that balance mainstream appeal with independent storytelling, while also supporting content-driven cinema with global reach.

Speaking about their participation in the launch event, Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal said in a joint statement, “We’re very happy to be part of the launch of TIFFNZ. Film festivals play an important role in building dialogue and creating space for diverse stories. The idea of bringing Indian cinema to New Zealand in a structured, celebratory way feels both timely and meaningful. We’re looking forward to supporting this new chapter and engaging with audiences there.”

The festival is envisioned as a four-day event that will take place across Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch. Apart from film screenings, TIFFNZ is also expected to host workshops, cultural events, and industry conversations aimed at connecting filmmakers, audiences, and creative professionals from both countries.

According to the organisers, the inaugural edition of the festival is expected to showcase nearly 30 films across feature-length and short film categories. The programming will focus on highlighting the diversity of Indian cinema while also amplifying South Asian voices in Aotearoa, New Zealand.

Meanwhile, Girls Will Be Girls continues to remain a significant milestone in Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal’s journey as producers. The film garnered attention on the international festival circuit for its coming-of-age narrative and has helped establish the couple’s production ambitions on a global platform.

With TIFFNZ preparing for its first edition later this year, the launch event featuring Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal is expected to mark the beginning of a new cultural and cinematic exchange between the Indian and New Zealand film industries.

Captioning the post, the actor once again urged people to stay vigilant against such fraudulent activities that misuse celebrity identities to exploit unsuspecting individuals. He wrote, “Be very careful of people using celebrities identities to fool people and take advantage of them. In case you come across such instances it’s always a good idea to bring it to the celebrities notice. Me nor my representatives will ever reach out asking for money or for any such favors.”

With online impersonation scams becoming increasingly common, several celebrities in recent years have issued warnings about fake accounts and fraudulent booking agents operating in their names. Ronit Roy’s latest statement serves as another reminder for social media users to verify identities carefully before engaging in conversations or financial transactions online.

Saswata Chatterjee joins Rajkummar Rao starrer Sourav Ganguly biopic Dada: Report

The upcoming film Dada, based on the life of former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly, continues to generate buzz with fresh casting developments emerging from the film’s sets. After the makers officially announced the project earlier this year with Rajkummar Rao stepping into the lead role, the latest reports suggest that acclaimed Bengali actor Saswata Chatterjee has now joined the cast of the highly anticipated biopic.

Best known nationwide for portraying the chilling Bob Biswas in Kahaani, Saswata is reportedly set to essay the role of Sourav Ganguly’s father, Chandi Ganguly, in the film. According to reports, the actor has already joined the ongoing shoot alongside the rest of the cast currently filming in Mumbai. The film’s supporting cast is also gradually taking shape. Reports suggest that Aparajita Auddy and Rahul Dev Bose have come on board to portray Sourav Ganguly’s mother Nirupa Ganguly and brother Snehashish Ganguly respectively.

The ensemble is expected to play an important role in showcasing the personal side of the cricketing icon’s journey beyond the stadium. “All three actors are currently shooting in Mumbai. Dada was present on set during the shoot on Sunday. The production team will shoot in Kolkata from the end of this month”, a source was reported saying to Bombay Times.

The biopic officially went on floors in April this year after Rajkummar Rao confirmed the development on social media. Sharing behind-the-scenes photos, including a glimpse of the film’s clapperboard, the actor had written, “And it begins … The one and only #DADA ?? ???? @souravganguly @motwayne #LuvRanjan @gargankur82 @luv_films”.

The film, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, is expected to chronicle Sourav Ganguly’s inspiring journey from his early aspirations of becoming a cricketer to eventually leading the Indian national team and transforming Indian cricket during his captaincy era. Apart from focusing on his professional milestones and achievements on the field, the narrative is also expected to explore his personal life, particularly his relationship with wife Dona Ganguly. Meanwhile, reports also suggest that Tanya Maniktala, who gained attention for her performance in Kill, has been finalised to play Dona Ganguly after several Bengali actresses reportedly auditioned for the part.

With filming now progressing steadily and the team preparing for an extensive Kolkata schedule, Dada remains one of the most anticipated sports biopics currently in development.

Court grants interim relief to Pooja Entertainment in ‘Chunari Chunari’ rights dispute with Tips Music

The ongoing legal dispute between producer Vashu Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment and Tips Music has reignited the long-standing debate over ownership of film music rights in the Indian film industry. The controversy erupted after Pooja Entertainment approached the court alleging that Tips recreated the iconic track ‘Chunari Chunari’ for the upcoming film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai without obtaining permission. The song originally featured in Biwi No.1 (1999), produced by Pooja Entertainment. The court has currently granted interim protection in favour of Vashu Bhagnani.

While reacting to the matter on social media, Tips Music insisted that they remain to be “lawful owner” of the music rights and termed the allegations made by Pooja Entertainment as “malicious.” Responding to Tips’ statement, a legal spokesperson representing Vashu Bhagnani said that all music rights, songs, and films referred to in the suit are presently covered under the court’s “status quo” order. The spokesperson further maintained that, at this stage, the issue of lawful ownership or the validity of agreements cannot be determined as the matter is now under the jurisdiction of the court.

The spokesperson also stated that actors, filmmaker David Dhawan, producers, technicians, and everyone associated with the matter may be required to appear before the court and submit their responses, failing which they could face contempt proceedings.

Calling the interim relief a significant development, the spokesperson described it as a win for film producers and said that producers across the industry should unite to safeguard their rights. According to the statement, music companies have generated massive revenues over the years from rights and investments that originally belonged to producers, making it important for producers to collectively assert their claims. The spokesperson added that this interim order is only the beginning and expressed hope that complete justice would eventually be delivered.

Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai stars Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde in lead roles.

EXCLUSIVE: Marathi film Deool Band 2 set for a HUGE start; sells 25,000 + tickets; popular series has a UNIQUE connection with Drishyam franchise

Marathi cinema had a tough time in 2025, but in 2026, it is expected to set new records. Krantijyoti Vidyalay Marathi Madhyam, which released on the first day of the year, collected around Rs. 25 crores. Raja Shivaji continues to remain strong, collecting Rs. 93.10 crores in 18 days and marching towards the Rs. 100 crore mark. And now, another film, Deool Band 2, is all set to surprise. The devotional cum drama film releases in cinemas tomorrow, that is, Thursday, May 21 and is set for a huge opening.

As per the data accessed by Bollywood Hungama, Deool Band 2 has sold more than 25,000 tickets. Despite the film releasing on a non-holiday Thursday, several shows in cities like Mumbai and Pune are already fast-filling. The latter, it seems, is ahead of Mumbai and is driving the collections. City Pride, which has 7 cinemas in Pune, has sold more tickets than PVR Inox. MovieMax opened bookings for Deool Band 2 around 12 noon on Wednesday and within 4 hours, it sold 400 tickets, which is quite a feat.

Deool Band 2 will have a strong weekend, if reports are in its favour. It now remains to be seen if post-midnight and early morning shows are organized by cinemas to cater to the demand on Saturday and Sunday.

Like Deool Band’s first part, Deool Band 2 also stars Mohan Joshi in the role of revered saint Swami Samartha. Deool Band appealed to millions of Swami Samartha’s devotees and moviegoers in general due to its premise, science vs spirituality angle, Mohan Joshi’s terrific portrayal and Pravin Tarde's mass-appealing direction. Deool Band 2 is a spiritual sequel and besides Mohan Joshi, it stars Mahesh Manjrekar, Snehal Tarde, Pravin Tarde, Prasad Oak, Om Bhutkar and others.

Interestingly, the Deool Band series has a fascinating Drishyam connection. The first part was released on July 31, 2015 – the same day as the release of the Hindi remake, Drishyam. And now, Deool Band 2 releases on the same day as the release of Drishyam 3’s Malayalam version.

Drishyam 3 is also set for a record start. The other major release of the week is Chand Mera Dil, starring Lakshya and Ananya Panday. The film is expected to fetch a good start at the box office, thanks to the reduced-price offer. In short, it’ll be a healthy weekend for the industry and exhibitors.

Sonu Nigam sells five Karjat land parcels for Rs 95 lakhs: Report

Playback singer Sonu Nigam has sold 1.067 hectares of land in Karjat, part of the emerging Mumbai 3.0 development corridor, for a total consideration of Rs 95 lakhs, according to property registration documents accessed by CRE Matrix and reported by Hindustan Times.

The recent transactions involve five adjoining land parcels located in Savele village of Karjat. Collectively spread across approximately 1.067 hectares, the land parcels were sold through multiple deals registered on May 12, 2026. Documents reveal that a stamp duty of Rs 5.7 lakhs was paid for the transactions.

As per the registration papers, one land parcel measuring 0.21 hectare was purchased by a group of four individuals for Rs 20 lakhs. Another adjoining plot measuring 0.215 hectare was acquired by two homebuyers for the same amount.

In a separate transaction, a 0.225-hectare parcel was sold to an individual buyer for Rs 20 lakhs. Meanwhile, another 0.20-hectare plot was purchased by two individuals for Rs 17 lakhs. The fifth parcel, measuring 0.217 hectare, was sold for Rs 18 lakhs.

Neither Sonu Nigam nor the buyers have publicly commented on the transactions so far.

Interestingly, this is the second set of land deals involving the singer in Karjat within a short span. In April 2026, Sonu Nigam sold multiple land parcels in the same region totalling over 1.9 hectares for ₹1.95 crore. Those transactions were registered on April 7, 2026, and reportedly involved four separate buyers.

According to the documents, the first parcel measuring 0.405 hectares was sold for Rs 50 lakhs, while another 0.718-hectare plot fetched Rs 75 lakhs. A third parcel spread across 0.607 hectares was sold for Rs 50 lakhs, while the fourth transaction involved a 0.208-hectare plot valued at Rs 20 lakhs. A stamp duty of Rs 11.70 lakhs was reportedly paid for those deals.

Apart from these sales, the Nigam family has also remained active in Mumbai’s real estate market. Earlier this year in February, Sonu Nigam’s father, Agam Kumar Nigam, purchased a 1,197 sq m property in Madh Island, Mumbai, for Rs 10 crores. The acquisition reportedly included a ground-plus-one-floor residential and commercial structure.

In 2025, Sonu Nigam was also in the news for leasing a commercial property in Mumbai’s Santacruz East for a five-year period at a total rental value exceeding Rs 12.61 crores.

Ahaan Panday to shoot energetic dance number in Manchester for Ali Abbas Zafar film? Here’s what we know!

Ahaan Panday is reportedly set to showcase his dancing skills for the first time on the big screen in his upcoming untitled film with director Ali Abbas Zafar. After creating a strong fan following with Saiyaara, the young actor is now expected to step into a more commercial and larger-than-life space with an energetic dance number planned as part of the action entertainer.

While many expected Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara to introduce Ahaan in a more conventional Bollywood hero format, complete with dance and music, the filmmaker instead presented him in an intense and emotionally layered avatar. The film turned Ahaan into an overnight Gen Z sensation, with audiences particularly connecting to his romantic and emotionally vulnerable character.

Now, industry buzz suggests that Yash Raj Films and Ali Abbas Zafar are planning to unveil a completely different side of the actor in his second film. According to sources, a special dance sequence is being planned in Manchester, UK, where a major portion of the film is currently being shot.

“This will be the first time that Ahaan will be seen dancing on the big screen, and we expect this to be a spectacularly special moment. A four-day shoot is being planned to shoot Ahaan singing and dancing just like the stars we have all seen doing for all these years,” a source revealed.

The source further added that the makers want to present Ahaan in a full-fledged star avatar. “The sequence will show Ahaan in his effortless best, and that’s how Aditya Chopra and Ali Abbas Zafar want to present him onscreen.”

Reports also suggest that Ahaan will rehearse for the song during breaks in the UK shooting schedule before filming the track toward the end of the international leg. The makers are reportedly looking to create a song with viral appeal among younger audiences, with plans to finalise a leading choreographer soon.

Alia Bhatt and Sharvari shoot with Samay Raina for India’s Got Latent Season 2 in viral photo

A viral picture featuring Alia Bhatt, Sharvari and comedian Samay Raina has taken social media by storm, sparking widespread speculation around the return of India’s Got Latent. The photos, reportedly clicked at The Habitat in Mumbai, have led fans to believe that the actresses may be appearing as part of the promotional campaign for their upcoming spy-universe film Alpha.

While there has been no official confirmation from the makers or the actors involved, the viral images have already triggered intense discussions online. Many fans appeared excited at the possibility of seeing Alia and Sharvari participate in Samay Raina’s popular digital talent-roast format, especially given the enormous online popularity the show achieved after its launch in 2024.

Created by Samay Raina, India’s Got Latent quickly became one of the most talked-about digital shows in the country due to its unfiltered humour, unpredictable format, and viral guest interactions. However, the show also attracted controversy and criticism over certain segments, eventually leading to a temporary shutdown and legal scrutiny. Following months of silence, Samay recently addressed the situation during his stand-up special Still Alive, confirming that the show would eventually return despite the emotional and legal challenges surrounding it.

Now, with Season 2 already generating buzz, the appearance of mainstream Bollywood actors on the set has divided a section of the internet. While some social media users welcomed the crossover between Bollywood and digital comedy culture, others expressed concern that the show’s original raw and irreverent tone could shift towards a more promotional and corporate-friendly format.

Several users online commented that India’s Got Latent initially stood out because of its unconventional energy and unpredictable guest lineup. According to some viewers, frequent film promotions could dilute the authenticity that made the show popular among younger audiences in the first place.

Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt continues to dominate headlines globally following her recent appearance at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, marking her second outing at the prestigious event. Apart from Alpha, the actress also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War in the pipeline alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.

Sharvari, on the other hand, is currently occupied with promotions for her upcoming film Main Vaapas Aaunga, directed by Imtiaz Ali.

In recent weeks, Aakhri Sawal has also drawn attention due to several high-profile screenings and public discussions surrounding the project. RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale attended a special screening of the film, while a premiere event held in Delhi was attended by Rekha Gupta, who later shared her appreciation for the film on X.

Reports have additionally suggested that a screening of the film took place at Rashtrapati Bhavan in the presence of invited guests.

At the same time, the film has also faced controversy during its release journey. Aakhri Sawal was reportedly not cleared for release in the UAE after the censor board suggested multiple cuts and modifications. The makers, however, chose not to proceed with the requested changes and retained the film in its original version. The project has also witnessed legal attention, with PILs reportedly filed regarding certain aspects of its content.

Featuring Sanjay Dutt, Amit Sadh, Sameera Reddy, Tridha Choudhury, Neetu Chandra and Namashi Chakraborty, the film is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Abhijeet Mohan Warang.

Presented by Nikhil Nanda, Aakhri Sawal is produced by Nikhil Nanda and Sanjay Dutt, with Puneet Nanda, Dr. Deepak Singh, Gaurav Dubey, and Ujjwal Anand serving as co-producers. The story, screenplay, and dialogues have been written by Utkarsh Naithani.

Suraj Nambiar slams rumours surrounding his separation with Mouni Roy: “There is no alimony, no disputes, no third party involved”

Mouni Roy and entrepreneur Suraj Nambiar have once again found themselves at the centre of public attention following their recent separation announcement. A week after officially confirming their split through a joint Instagram statement, Suraj has now addressed the growing speculation surrounding the end of their marriage, firmly denying rumours about alimony, disputes, and third-party involvement.

Taking to Instagram, Suraj shared a lengthy statement calling several reports “baseless” and “malicious.” The note was later reposted by Mouni Roy on her own social media account, indicating a united stance from the former couple amid the ongoing chatter online. In his statement, Suraj wrote, “Recent baseless reports surrounding our separation have been made in bad taste and are absolutely malicious. Let me set the record straight once and for all. There is no alimony. There are no disputes. There is no third party involved”.

He further clarified that the decision to separate was mutual and made with maturity and respect for one another. “Mouni and I chose to part ways together, with mutual respect and with full consideration for each other's wellbeing. That is the truth. Everything else being reported is fiction, and in some cases, a deliberate attempt to vilify two people who have done nothing but ask to be left alone”.

Addressing rumours involving friends and alleged third parties, Suraj strongly objected to innocent individuals being dragged into the matter. He stated, “I want to state this clearly and finally: there is no truth to any of the claims being made about either of us, or about any third party. Dragging other people into this is not cool. Specially innocent friends who have nothing to do with this. Mouni and I have both conducted ourselves with dignity through this period and we expect that same dignity to be extended to us by those reporting on it”.

Calling out what he described as irresponsible reporting, Suraj added, “Media houses have chosen to fabricate narratives that do not exist. These reports have been published without a shred of verification, which is highly unfair. I am calling this out clearly and directly, because staying silent in the face of deliberate misinformation is not something I am willing to do”. He concluded the note by urging everyone to respect the joint statement shared earlier by the couple. “Our joint statement said everything that needed to be said. I request everyone to honour it and to allow both of us the space to move forward in peace. Thank you”.

Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar got married in January 2022 in Goa in the presence of close friends and family members. Their wedding, which featured both Malayali and Bengali traditions, had generated massive buzz on social media. Over the years, the couple frequently shared glimpses of their personal life and vacations online, becoming one of the most talked-about celebrity couples.

Three days ago, the former couple officially announced their separation through a joint Instagram note, requesting privacy and understanding from fans and the media as they navigated this personal transition.

Cocktail 2 song event: Rashmika Mandanna brings the house down with her “Kriti Sanon is F**KING hot!” remark; Shahid Kapoor calls Kriti and Rashmika “superstars in the prime of their careers”

A fun event was hosted by the Cocktail 2 team at a premium restobar in central Mumbai on Sunday, May 17, and was attended by Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Rashmika Mandanna, producers Dinesh Vijan and Luv Ranjan, director Homi Adajania and music director Pritam Chakraborty. Two unreleased songs were premiered at the event – ‘Mashooka’, featuring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, and ‘Tujhko’ featuring Shahid and Rashmika Mandanna.

At the event, Shahid Kapoor said, “I am very fortunate to have worked with these two amazing actresses, superstars and beautiful ladies who are extremely professional and in the absolute prime of their careers. Both have given spectacular performances and look amazing. That’s why my character, Kunal, can’t decide who to go with. That’s what the film is all about.”

He added, “With Rashmika, this is my first film. But it never felt so. Whenever we got into any shot, we never even discussed what we were going to do. I just loved that she was all up for spontaneity.”

Rashmika Mandanna added, “I fully agree. Everytime we were working on a scene together, somehow, spontaneously, we would come up with aftertakes. There’ll be one extra ‘tichka’ that we would give and we would not see it coming. We would even rehearse. That’s why the chemistry was magical.”

Kriti Sanon remarked, “You guys have such cute chemistry. It is adorable.” Then she asked the mediapersons, “Guys, how did you like their chemistry? Isn’t it super-cute?”

Next, Rashmika praised the duo, “We have definitely known for a while that you guys have something magical. But something in Cocktail 2 is so different.” Pointing at Kriti, she said, “You look hot; the world knows that. And you are f**king hot.”

Realizing that she uttered a profanity, Rashmika clarified to the media, “Oh, sorry! Censor kar dena. I didn’t say that!” She then rephrased and remarked, “She’s amazing. Look at her.”

Later, Luv Ranjan came on stage and stated, “I am scared because the first part was written by Imtiaz Ali. I am a huge fan of Imtiaz sir. I told Dino and Homi, ‘Better make a good film’. Or else, sabse zyada gaali mujhe padegi ki ‘Yeh hota hai jab Imtiaz Ali ko Luv Ranjan replace karte hai’! I want this to work so that I don’t let him down.”

Dinesh Vijan raised laughs as he joked, “If you don’t like anything in Cocktail 2, it's Luv’s fault!”

Cocktail 2 releases in cinemas on June 19.
