Gauahar Khan and Zaid Darbar are all set to tie the knot on THIS date

After Gauahar came out of the Bigg Boss 14 house post her role as a Toofani senior, her long-time boyfriend, Zaid Darbar popped the big question. During one of his interviews during Gauahar’s stay in the Bigg Boss house, Zaid Darbar had hinted towards marrying her before the year ends and it looks like that he is sticking to his promise.

After proposing to her, Zaid and Gauahar went away for a small vacation in Goa and now, the couple has announced that they will be getting married on December 25. Taking to their social media, they have shared the big news with their fans that their Nikaah ceremony will be taking place on Christmas Day. Posting a couple of pre-wedding photoshoot pictures, they wrote a heartfelt note for the love they have received so far and spoke about ending the year on a good note.

Manoj Bajpayee, Neena Gupta, and Sakshi Tanwar to star in Rensil D'Silva's thriller Dial 100

A gripping collaboration will soon see the light of day as one of India's leading production houses, Sony Pictures Films India announces its next project titled, Dial 100 jointly backed by filmmaker Siddharth Malhotra and Sapna Malhotra’s Alchemy Films. Starring Manoj Bajpayee, Neena Gupta, and Sakshi Tanwar, sort of a casting coup, the upcoming film is a unique thriller, crafted for excellence in that genre.

What makes this collaboration interesting is that it comes from the studio (Sony Pictures Films India) that has witnessed the acclaim and commercial success for blockbusters such as Piku, Padman, and Shakuntala Devi and from a filmmaker (Siddharth Malhotra), who has helmed dramas such as We Are Family and Hichki in the past. These two creative forces have joined hands to give viewers a thriller that promises to keep them at the edge of their seats. The film goes on floors today in Mumbai and has filmmaker, Rensil D'Silva at its helm.

Abhishek Bachchan reacts after his Bob Biswas look got leaked, reveals he had to gain weight for the role

A week ago, actors Abhishek Bachchan and Chitrangda Singh resumed the shooting for Bob Biswas after nine months since wrapping the first schedule of the film. Both the actors headed to Kolkata to kick off the next schedule as their looks got leaked online.

In the film, Abhishek plays a contract killer. In the pictures from the sets of the film, Abhishek was seen dressed in a plain blue full sleeves shirt and baggy trousers. He is wearing a pair of spectacles and has mid-parted hair. Speaking to a daily, the actor said that the paparazzi knew that they were going to shoot in Kolkata so they had gathered at the location with their cameras. He said that he would have loved the way if the look had been revealed during their marketing campaign as intended by director Annapurna Ghosh. But, the netizens’ reaction surprised him and gave an assurance that they are doing something right.

For the role, he had to gain weight as Bob Biswas’ character is portly. He said that he had to pile on kilos but maintaining the same frame was difficult during the lockdown. He further said that though they returned to the sets after nine months, it didn’t feel like it after the first day of shooting was done.

The film is a spinoff of Bob Biswas character essayed by Saswata Chatterjee in the film Kahaani starring Vidya Balan. The film is bankrolled by Gauri Khan, Sujoy Ghosh, and Gaurav Verma, a directorial debut for Diya Ghosh and written by Sujoy Ghosh.

Ileana D’cruz raises the temperature in a black bikini as she soaks in the sun

Actor Ileana D’cruz seems to be missing the beach. She is currently in her home in Texas, Houston. While she continues to document her life on her social media, she recently took to Instagram to post a stunning picture of herself.

Dressed in a black bikini and flaunting her beach body, the actress says that she is mentally at the beach but also happy to have reunited with family. She captioned the picture, "Mentally on the beach but actually in the middle of glorious much-needed family time #imhappyijustdontlookit.”

Vir Das on his new show Inside Out

Vir Das is ready with a new show. It’s called Inside Out and it premiers on Netflix on December 16. Explaining the concept behind the show Vir says, “It started out just to raise money for different charities. I'd do an online show every night to raise money and give the ticket sales away. To warm up the audience I'd ask 'what’s the first thing you're going to do when the world is normal again?'. Suddenly people all over opened up about their dreams. And I knew this was a moment I needed to capture. So the entire show is a comedian asking people across the world that one question.”

Vir says he enjoyed his lockdown period. “I’ve been a circus performer for the past decade, travelling seven months a year. So I’ve never had this kind of time at home. So it’s nice to have this pause. So far I’ve been regurgitating output for the past decade now I’ve time to ingest content. And I had really been ignoring the digital platform. So far I had done some stand-up on Netflix. But never played the YouTube or the Instagram game. I am just taking time off to put up some uplifting feel-good content on those two platforms.”

For the lockdown entertainment seekers Vir has daily treat. “I set up a show on zoom every night where I work way my backward through the day. It’s a 90-minute daily show with tickets sold and the proceeds going to various charities and causes, like Helpage, migrant workers, children with cancer.”

Vir feel the lockdown is the best thing that could have happened to contain the virus. “Absolutely I feel our central government and state ministers have done a really good job. Every country is marching to its own beat in this Corona crisis. India too is doing its own thing and the Government decided on the lockdown at the right time. But I would love to see more testing kits and better relief packages.”

Ananya Panday, Katrina Kaif, Vicky Kaushal in party mode as they visit Karan Johar

It's party season already. While parties being kept intimate, it seems like Karan Johar hosted a small gathering at his place on Monday night. The night saw the attendance of big names from Bollywood.

Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal were in attendance. The pair have been rumoured to be dating since last year after they were snapped at several parties together. Though they have not confirmed their relationship, rumours are rife that they are very much together. They arrived separately at Karan Johar's residence as paparazzi clicked pictures.

Ananya Panday was also one of the guests who was seated on the front seat and waved at the paparazzi. The party also saw the presence of Kartik Aaryan, Kabir Khan, Mini Mathur.

Jacqueline Fernandez joins Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon starrer Bachchan Pandey, shooting begins on January 6

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala’s Bachchan Pandey will roll in January 2021 and continue till March. It marks Akshay Kumar's 10th collaboration with his producer buddy. Earlier, it was being reported that besides Kriti Sanon, another actress will be signed for the project. It is now confirmed that Jacqueline Fernandez has come on board.

The actress has joined the team of Bachchan Pandey. This marks her eighth collaboration with Sajid Nadiadwala. Her character is kept under wraps whereas it is being reported that Kriti Sanon plays the role of a journalist. Jacqueline excitedly shares, ”I was very new to the industry when I did the ‘Dhanno’ song in Housefull for Nadiad and our bond & friendship goes way back then. I am elated to be back working with him and Bachchan Pandey will mark our 8th film together after Judwaa & Housefull series. I can't wait to reunite with Akshay once again. It's a crazy mad ride always with him and I am sure we will have a blast together."

Talking about the shooting schedule, she shares, "I’m looking forward to begin the shoot in January with them. I can't spill the beans on my character yet but I can tell you it's a totally different avatar. This film will be an altogether different experience for us as we would be shooting in the new normal owing to the on-going pandemic but as we say the show must go on. With the precautions and norms for Covid -19 which would be taken care of, I am extremely excited to be at my 'Happy Place' with Sajid, Akshay, and have a gala time."

She further adds, “I have just finished shooting for a film while the other one is going on and I’m set to roll for Bachchan Pandey soon post which I’ll be back with Nadiad directing Salman & myself for Kick 2.” she signs off.

Jacqueline begins shooting with Akshay, Kriti & Arshad from the first week of January in Jaisalmer. Directed by Farhad Samji, the film will be reportedly shot in places like Gadisar Lake and Jaisalkot. Akshay Kumar's eponymous character Bachchan Pandey is a gangster who aspires to be an actor. Meanwhile, Kriti Sanon will essay the role of a journalist, who harbours dreams of becoming a film director. Recently, Arshad Warsi has been roped in to play the role of Bachchan Pandey's friend.

“Akshay, along with actress Kriti Sanon and Jacqueline Fernandez, director Farhad Samji and the rest of the unit will fly to Jaisalmer in a charter for a marathon schedule of over 2 months during which they will be shooting in real locations. Last month, the production team secured all the requisite permissions and taken care of all the government guidelines and locked the shooting locations,” a source had earlier revealed. The shooting begins on January 6.

The entire team will be stationed at a Suryagarh Hotel together and some indoor sequences will be shot there. The film also has some elaborate action scenes and teams from across the country will be joining the crew for that shoot.

Apart from Bachchan Pandey, Jacqueline Fernandez will also star in Bhoot Police, Cirkus, and Kick 2.

After It’s My Life, Anees Bazmee’s Naam, starring Ajay Devgn, to also get a release

The Coronvirus-induced lockdown and the subsequent closure of theatres for many months led to many films releasing directly on OTT platforms. In the midst, Anees Bazmee’s ten year old film It’s My Life stood out. Instead of releasing on a streaming platform, it premiered on satellite yesterday, on Zee Cinema. Produced by Boney Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor, it starred Harman Baweja and Genelia Deshmukh and was an official remake of the 2006 hit Telugu film, Bommarillu.

And now another film of Anees Bazmee, which has been stuck since ages, is all set to be revived. Naam, starring Ajay Devgn, Sameera Reddy and Bhumika Chawla, is now being readied for release. In an interview to an entertainment portal, Anees Bazmee revealed that it might release on an OTT platform or like It’s My Life, it might directly release on television. He also promised viewers that the suspense thriller has one of the best performances of Ajay Devgn.

When contacted, Anees Bazmee confirmed that it’s true and added, “The producer has said Naam is releasing soon. I don’t have any more details on this.”

Naam was shot around 2004, two years after Deewangee (2002), which was suspense flick starring Ajay Devgn (along with Urmila Matondkar and Akshaye Khanna) and directed by Anees Bazmee, released. There were talks of this film releasing in cinemas in 2013 but it didn’t materialize. It was initially titled Benaam and later changed to Naam. Priyanka Chopra was earlier signed for this role but due to some issues, she was replaced by Sameera Reddy. The film was edited by Shirish Kunder and Himesh Reshammiya had composed the music. Incidentally, its producer is Dinesh Patel who gave a break to Ajay Devgn in Phool Aur Kaante (1991). The producer later made the 1995 flick Saajan Ki Baahon Mein, starring Rishi Kapoor, Raveena Tandon and Tabu followed by Naam.

Interestingly, last year, Anees Bazmee had tweeted an on-the-sets image of Naam. It featured Anees and a bespectacled Ajay shooting for the film in a snowy region. The filmmaker had tweeted his wish as well that he hopes that this film releases and that audiences get a chance to see it. It looks like his wish is finally going to come true.

"Horror is a very tough genre because you have to be convincing to an audience" - says Bhumi Pednekar on Durgamati

Bhumi Pednekar has carved a niche for herself in Bollywood with her brilliant acting skills. The versatile actress will be seen next in a horror-thriller titled Durgamati, which is releasing on December 11 on Amazon Prime Video. Bhumi is headlining this project that is being produced by Akshay Kumar. Bhumi says she wants to sink her teeth into every genre and put up great performances in them.

Bhumi says, “I want to explore all genres and put up superlative performances in each one of them. As an artiste, that is my personal ambition. I want to be in the best films that are being made in India today and put up diverse performances that test me, push me to the max. I don’t want to make a genre or a type of film my niche. I want to do it all and try and excel in every project that I take up. Durgamati, for me, was one such project.“

Bhumi is thrilled that Durgamati pushed her to deliver one of her best performances. She says, “I knew it will help me push the envelope and I will get to expand myself as an artiste. It was definitely a huge learning experience for me. Horror is a very tough genre because you have to be convincing to an audience who knows that what they are seeing is not real. So, the performances have to carry the film and deliver outstanding entertainment to audiences. I wanted to experience this genre and I was sure that I would be able to deliver a solid performance.”

Bhumi is confident that audiences will give her a lot of love for Durgamati. She says, “I’m very hopeful that audiences will give me as much love as they have given me for all my performances so far when Durgamati releases. I consider myself fortunate that people have always supported and validated my performances and film choices.”

Krushna Abhishek denies the rumours of Bharti Singh’s exit from The Kapil Sharma Show after her arrest

Comedian Bharti Singh along with her husband Harsh Limbachiya was arrested for consumption of drugs by the Narcotics Control Bureau. A total of 86.5 gms of substances were found in her apartment and they were in judicial custody for a couple of days. However, after she was granted bail, there are rumours about Bharti Singh being dropped out of The Kapil Sharma Show by the makers.

Her co-stars Kiku Sharda and Krushna Abhishek have denied the rumours citing that the channel has not spoken to them yet about the same. Kiku said that she did not come to shoot a day prior and that was about it. While Krushna Abhishek lent his support to her and said that no matter what the channel decides, he will stand by her and she will always be his sister. Kapil Sharma and Krushna will continue to support Bharti Singh.

Krushna also expressed a lot of dislike towards Raju Srivastava’s comments on Bharti and said that their entire team is miffed with him about it. He has further said that Raju has taken on a lifetime worth of grudge from our end and we will not forgive him for that.

Actress Sophie Choudry, too headed to Maldives, and has been regularly sharing some stunning pictures of herself from her getaway.

Ever since she reached the island country, Sophie has been updating her Instagram feed with pictures of herself in different outfits. On Monday, she posted an all blue picture. In the picture shared by the actress she can be seen wearing a blue halter neck bra and blue denim shorts and is posing in the backdrop of the blue sea. Abhishek Bachchan reveals the personal story behind naming his Kabbadi team Jaipur Pink Panthers

Amazon Prime Video is all geared up to get you going 'Kabaddi Kabaddi' with is upcoming sports docu series Sons of The Soil : Jaipur Pink Panthers. A documentary that is unscripted, raw, unfiltered in the players, coaches and management lives in the franchise.

In a recent press conference, owner of the team, Abhishek Bachchan shares this 'personal touch' that involved in the name 'Jaipur Pink Panthers', he says, "Jaipur Pink Panthers has a very personal touch with me. Whatever work I do in life, I feel it should have a personal connect. When I was little, my father used to call me out saying 'Tiger' then after a few years I thought even I should call him something as an answer. One day when he came back home from shooting, he asked me 'How are you tiger? I replied,' I am fine Panther. How are you?' and I was 4-5 years old then. Since then it became like a fun thing, he used to call me Tiger, I used to call him Panther. If there was an animal that we wanted to choose, I was sure that it was Panther because that is how I used to call my father. Pink is my daughter, Aaradhya's favorite colour. So I thought that Pink and Panther would be nice. My wife Aishwarya has worked in the film Pink Panther 2 with Steve Martin, so that's a connect to Aishwarya. Jaipur was the city, Aishwarya and I came together in, so that's why Jaipur. If you see, our Pink Panther has blue-green eyes which are the same as my wife's. So there is a personal connect to everything about Jaipur Pink Panthers."

Sharing this connect that he found 'embarrassing' has actually struck a chord in our hearts as we all are in awe. The series is produced by BBC Studios India and directed by two-time BAFTA Scotland Winner Alex Gale, following Jaipur Pink Panthers through their journey in Season 7 of Pro Kabaddi League.

The Sons Of the Soil: Jaipur Pink Panthers are set for Le Panga! on December 4. The Amazon Original Series will launch in over 200 countries and territories exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.

Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan, who is an avid social media user, often posts old pictures and stills from his films and even rare pictures of his family members. Recently, the actor shared a photoshoot of himself which he had done for a film that never saw the light of the day.

In the photo shared by the actor, a young Amitabh Bachchan was seen in a black tapered pants and a gun kept by his side. When I first heard the story, I was instantly hooked, and I felt it had the perfect mix of thrill and drama that are required to complete a show of this kind. This is the best werewolf story we could have right now on Indian television. I am really looking forward to portraying this character because it is something very different from what I have essayed earlier and it brings its own set of challenges. Moreover, I am returning to Zee TV after nearly four to five years and I am glad to be a part of the family once again”.

The actor’s character has a rather ferocious avatar which takes Chetan nearly four hours to step in and out of the look. Talking about his look, Chetan said. “It takes minimum 4 hours and a team of four to five exceptionally skilful people to set the heavy prosthetics on my face. Shooting in the costume, that includes performing various action sequences comes as a big challenge by itself but none of this takes away from the interest and fascination that I have for this role. “While it might be quite a tough process, transforming from Vardhan into Brahmarakshas and back into Vardhan is actually the most exciting part of this character.”

Actors Anupam Kher, Satish Kaushik and Pankaj Tripathi recently visited The Kapil Sharma Show as guests. Anupam Kher, Satish Kaushik and Anil Kapoor happen to be a group of three close friends in Bollywood. On the show, Satish and Anupam spilled some interesting secrets about their friendship.

In a promo of the show, the two actors reveal their habit of gossiping especially when one of the three is not present. The promo begins with Satish saying, “When Anupam and Anil Kapoor are together, they gossip about me. When Anil Kapoor and I are together, we are like ‘Kapoor saab, kya yaar…”

Listening to this, Kapil said, “As you said, when the two of you are together, you gossip about the third person. Since the two of you are here together why not get some tea.” Carrying on with what Kapil was referring to Anupam Kher jokingly said, "Ye Anil kya samajhta hai yar apne aap ko, badi body shody dikhane laga hai (What does Anil think of himself these days, he keeps showing off his body).”

Coolie No 1: When David Dhawan was angry with Varun Dhawan but vented it on Sara Ali Khan during ‘Main Toh Raste Se’ shoot

A few days ago, the highly-awaited trailer of Coolie No. 1 starring Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan was unveiled. Directed by David Dhawan, the upcoming film is a rendition of the iconic 1995 Govinda-Karisma Kapoor starrer family comedy.

During the press interaction on Saturday, Sara Ali Khan revealed a hilarious moment from the sets of the film when David Dhawan got angry at her. “We were filming ‘Main Toh Raste Se’ when David sir got upset with me and shouted at me because, although I was ready for my shot, I was supposed to tag something on my costume and that was taking time”.

However, there was a reason for it and she blamed Varun Dhawan for it. “He was doing some costume business in the van and David sir got pretty upset at him as it was delaying the shoot. So basically, he was angry at Varun but vented on me. That was a bit of an issue, but it is all good,” she said.

“Working on Coolie No. 1 has really been a dream come true. One has grown up listening to songs like ‘Husn Hai Suhana’ and ‘Mirchi Lagi’, and it’s surreal that I now feature in the reprised versions of these songs! Working with Varun was an amazing experience, as not only is he an impeccable actor but he is also an extremely considerate, helpful, and motivating friend who always has your back on set. Of course, working with David Sir was a sheer privilege as I truly believe he’s the king of this commercial, masala, family comedy genre. Every day on set was a riot of fun, while at the same time one got to learn so much just by watching actors like Paresh sir, Rajpal sir, Johnny Sir, Bharti Maam, Javed Sir, and even Saahil and Shikha. Actors Sayani Gupta, Hussain Dalal, and Rishabh Kapoor starrer short film Shameless is India's official entry for Oscars 2021 in the Live Action Short Film category. The film is written and directed by Keith Gomes.

Keith Gomes thanked the cast and crew of the film who are National and Oscar winners. He said he makes films with little funding from family and friends. He said that everyone comes together with loads of love and passion. Gomes said that he couldn’t be more blessed.

The short film was released in April last year. It was selected amongst Shaan Vyas' Natkhat, Aditya Kelgaonkar's Sound Proof, Safar, and Trapped.

Rubina Dilaik breaks down on Bigg Boss 14 recalling that she was to get divorced, leaves husband Abhinav Shukla teary-eyed

It is known that Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla’s marriage was in rough waters before they decided to do the show.

Speaking of her dark secret, Rubina reveals that they were on the verge of divorce and had given each other the time till November. She said, “Humne ek dusre ko November tak ka time diya tha. We were about to get divorced. Agar yaha dono saath nahi aate, toh shayad sath bhi na reh paate”. As soon as she steps out of the area, she breaks down while a teary-eyed Abhinav Shukla gives her a tight hug.

Ashwini Kalsekar and Seemaa Desai win big at 3rd New Jersey Indian and International Film Festival, for their short film Tindey

After winning lots of accolades and recognitions, Seemaa Desai's Tindey has now gone on to win at the third edition of New Jersey Indian and International Film Festival, for their short film Tindey. While the director, Seemaa Desai won an award in the best short film category, actress Ashwini Kalsekar won the Best Actress award for the same.

The scene stellar Ashwini Kalsekar has won everyone over with her natural acting and nails every scene in the film. Talking about the win Ashwini Kalsekar, shares, “I am very excited, delighted enraptured at the same time very humbled and touched today because my work is being appreciated at NJIIFF (New Jersey Indian and International Film festival). I would like to thank everyone who is responsible for putting this joy in my life. I am thankful for my director, Seema Desai who projected me in a different way.”

She further adds, "To receive an award is always encouraging for any actor and it also increases the actor’s responsibility to deliver good. I promise to entertain my audience all my life.”

Delighted receiving yet another award, director Seemaa Desai, shares, “I am very happy on receiving the award for our short film ‘Tindey’. This film is extremely close to my heart as I had very special people who showed faith in it and made this project possible.”

Tindey is a heart-warming and humorous short film starring Adah Sharma, Rajesh Sharma, Ashwini Kalsekar in lead roles. The short film is produced under the banner of Sejal Kaushik's Beatus Productions and Parag Desai's Mumbai Talkeez.

Anurag Kashyap: “Of course I am happy. This was one year where I felt we had four films that had backing and they made a bold choice. Jallikattu has XYZ films as US distributor and a successful festival run and international reviews. So it does stand a good chance .There was also The Disciple in the selection race that has Cuaron and international distribution and festival wins There was Sir that has international distribution and festival run and backing and there was Yeh Ballet that had international appeal and Netflix backing. Lijo Jose Pellissery is a filmmaker of international standards and the world needs to know him so I am happy this will cast the light on him.”

Hansal Mehta: “It's a brilliant film. Absolutely no doubt. I haven't seen Chaitanya Tamhane's film The Disciple yet but going by the accolades it received and so much talk about it being a possible contender for Oscars maybe this was the film to be sent? About time this process for selection changes. Films that stand a chance need to be sent. Period. And films stand a chance based on many factors. Not just likes/dislikes of some mystery jury. The year Lunchbox was in contention they sent Good Road. The year Shahid and Fandry were in contention they sent Liars Dice. The politics, motives and understanding of these 'jurors' are very questionable at times. Jallikattu is a good film. But I'm sure The Disciple is far more international given Alfonso Cuaron’s involvement. We've missed one more shot at nominations I think.”

Honey Trehan: “I think it’s a well deserving entry and I personally have been a fan of Lijo’s films. I like the way through Jallikattu talks about many aspects of our society, culture, pathos and specially the greed. Jallikattu is an experience. I’m glad to know that our jury has chosen this film for Oscar entry...much respect.”

TWICE gives stunning performance on 'I Can't Stop Me' on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert; the group releases English version of the song

The powerful girl group TWICE, from South Korea, made their late-night talk show debut with a stunning performance on 'I Can't Stop Me' on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

On the day of the English version release of the lead track from their latest album 'Eyes Wide Open', the group performed on the synth-wave track that beautifully captures the emotions of the members who are trying a make a choice between the good and the evil. Dressed in the varied version of brown colour, the popstars gave a memorable performance on the show as they crooned the Korean version of the song.

The English version was released on November 30, 2020. The lyrics go, "Oh I been caught under the spot, spot, spotlight / I wanna cave into the dark side calling to me / The ending’s obvious I know it’s not right / I can’t stop me, can’t stop me." The group dropped their second full-length album 'Eyes Wide Open' on October 26, 2020.

Kicking off Monday on a huge note, global superstars BTS have earned their fifth No. 1 album with their latest release 'BE' on the Billboard 200 chart. The chart announcement was made on November 30, 2020. This makes their second chart-topper after their February 21, 2020, full-length album release 'Map Of The Soul: 7'.

According to Billboard, "Of Be’s 242,000 units earned in the tracking week ending Nov. 26, album sales comprise 177,000, TEA units comprise 35,000 and SEA units comprise 30,000 (equating to 48.56 million on-demand streams of the album’s songs)."

This announcement put to rest months of speculation surrounding the release of the film. The first poster of Shakeela starring Richa Chadha met with a lot of excitement.

The latest poster of the film that launches today features Richa in a glamorous avatar. Draped in a saree and with a gun in her hand, she pays the perfect ode to the South siren. In the background, there are allusions to her epithet of a box office queen, along with obscene words related to her body, religious affiliation, and skin colour. The poster is a testament to the fact that Richa conveys Shakeela's attitude and style with a rare spunk and vivacity. It also communicates that it is no dirty picture and explores Shakeela’s world beyond her erotic image and stardom.

Inspired by a shocking true story about the life of superstar Shakeela, the film traces her journey - filled with hurdles and discrimination – from playing side characters to becoming the face of B-grade films and eventually reaching the pinnacle of glory. Soon, she began threatening the stardom of the biggest superstars of that era in the South film industry.

Born in a conservative Muslim family, Shakeela began her career at the age of 16. Having worked in about 250 films, she emerged as an adult star who ruled the South film industries in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Talking about the film, director Indrajit Lankesh says, “Shakeela is my passion project. I have known her since 2003 when I worked with her. Her rags-to-riches story caught my attention. I did some extensive personal interviews with her and came to know so much about the person that she is behind that image of a star. And I knew that it is only Richa who can nail the part. Apne 2 starring Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Karan Deol to release in Diwali 2021

In October, it was being reported that Apne 2 was on cards. The actors Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, and Bobby Deol were set to reunite for this sequel. Now, joining them is Karan Deol as the three-generation of Deols are set to embark on a new journey. While Apne released in 2007, the sequel is set for Diwali 2021 release.

This Guru Nanak Jayanti just got more special, when the makers and the family decided to announce its sequel with the blessings of Guru Nanak. Now, 14 years later, the team is up for an encore. Joining the terrific trio this time will be Sunny's elder son Karan Deol!

Sunny Deol, on Monday, took to Twitter, to announce the film. “Babaji ke aashirwaad aur aapke pyaar ki wajah se aaj hum vapas ek sath nazar aayenge. Feeling blessed to get a chance to work with my father, brother again this time with my son. #Apne2, in cinemas Diwali 2021,” he wrote.

The second installment of the film has been in the works for some time and now, the entire script is in place. Keeping the essence and values of the first film, Apne 2 takes the original engaging story many notches higher in its action, drama, emotions, and entertainment with new characters being added in.

The makers will be shooting from March next year, in Punjab and Europe and the family entertaining sports drama is being readied for a grand release on Diwali 2021.
