Watch: Comedian Trevor Noah announces his exit from The Daily Show in an emotional video; expresses his gratitude

In the emotion-laden video message, Noah said, “I remember when we first started... so many people didn't believe in us. It was a crazy bet to make. I still think it was a crazy choice, this random African.” As the video progressed further, he shed light on all the years that he has given to the show and how he wants to explore other avenues associated with stand-up comedy.

“I spent two years in my apartment (during Covid-19), not on the road. Stand-up was done, and when I got back out there again, I realised that there's another part of my life that I want to carry on exploring,” added the South African comedian.

Recalling how the show has been loved across different countries including India, he went on to say, “The show has grown around the world. I recently went to India for the first time and people there supported everything that we have done on the show. I found myself filled with gratitude for the journey. It's been absolutely amazing. It's something that I never expected.”

Concluding his speech by mentioning how hosting the show for seven years had been a challenging task for him, Noah asserted, "After the seven years, my time is up, but in the most beautiful way, honestly. I loved hosting this show. It's been one of my greatest challenges. I have learned how to make people laugh even when the stories are particularly sh***y on many days. We laughed together and cried together ... But after seven years I feel like it's time.”

The 38-year-old comedian’s announcement earned a standing ovation from the studio audience.

Kanye West reveals why his new Instagram profile picture features ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s mom Kris Jenner

Hollywood rapper caught his fans by surprise yesterday as he changed his Instagram profile picture to a picture of his former wife Kim Kardashian’s mother Kris Jenner.

As noted by NME, on September 28, Ye changed his display picture to a photo of Jenner on Instagram. Taking to his stories, the Donda rapper said writing in all caps that he’d “posted Kris with thoughts of peace and respect. Let’s change the narrative.” The picture is the exact same photo that Kris is using for her account.

Previously, West also called out Jenner for supporting her daughters Kylie and Kim when they shot for Playboy. “Hollywood is a giant brothel. Pornography destroyed my family,” he wrote in a recent online post. “I deal with the addiction [and] Instagram promotes it. Not gonna let it happen to [his daughters] Northy and Chicago.”

West also posted a screenshot of a message that Kardashian had sent him on behalf of her mother, "From my mom- PLEASE. Tell him to please stop mentioning my name. I'm almost 67 years old and I don't always feel great and this stresses me to no end," Kim's alleged text read.

To that, he replied, "Y'all don't have so so over my black children and where they go to school. They will not do playboy and sex tapes."

Star Plus launches new show titled Faltu starring Niharika Chouksey and Aakash Ahuja; story to revolve around inspirational journey of a girl

Many shows in the past have showcased the way female infants are treated in traditional Indian communities, especially revolving around the Northern belt. While there are some shows in the past which have portrayed crimes like female infanticide, child marriage in the past, Star Plus is all set to come up with a show named 'Faltu' that will highlight the inspirational journey of a girl from India's heartland. Faltu is the story of an unwanted and unwelcomed girl child that revolves around her journey to gain acceptance from her feudal family, and make her people proud.

A source close to the production house said, “The world has come a long way ahead of gender discrimination that was witnessed in previous times when a boy child was always considered a gift and a girl child was a curse.   In some parts of the country, people still name their girl child as ‘antima’ ,‘nakusha’ and many others, which carries a hidden message that signifies 'now it’s time for a boy'. The show highlights a prevalent aspect of society, through the lens of a third girl child in a conservative community of Rajasthan.”

The show is extensively shot in Rajasthan to maintain authenticity and realness in terms of the feel and the ambiance. “Faltu goes on to prove that she is anything but Faltu, in fact she is a Heera, who deserves to be loved and respected by all around her! The show promises to be a one of its kind story that holds a very strong message for society about the strength of a girl child,” the source added.

Speaking about the show, produced by Boy Hood Productions, it is expected to feature Niharika Chouksey and Aakash Ahuja in the lead role.

Dia Mirza backs Greendigo as a strategic investor and brand ambassador

Greendigo, a three-year-old brand focussing on offering organic clothing options for babies has partnered with actor Dia Mirza. Mom, actress, producer, social worker, and long-time champion for sustainability, Dia Mirza, managed by Exceed Entertainment, has chosen to back Greendigo as the brand echoes deeply with her own eco-friendly and conscious lifestyle.

Dia Mirza backs Greendigo as a strategic investor and brand ambassador

The actor has stepped in as Strategic Investor and Brand Ambassador for the female-founded, sustainability-driven, baby clothing brand. She and her team at Exceed Entertainment strongly believe that the future of our little ones is directly dependent on the choices that we as parents make today. Staying true to the belief, the team together has set out on a mission to partner with like-minded businesses that can affect changes at multiple levels under Dia’s tutelage and allegiance to a safer and healthier environment. Greendigo, an SDGs-compliant business is a very effective and logical chapter in her already existing eco-sphere of sustainable businesses.
Greendigo combines practical designs with organic materials and sustainable processes to create one-of-a-kind garments that are loved by children and adults alike, all whilst ensuring a zero-carbon footprint.

Mirza joins the Greendigo family as a parent first, an advocate second, and an investor third, with the primary goal of bringing alive the company’s powerful and heartfelt purpose to a broader audience.

“We’re thrilled to have Dia on board in a multi-pronged capacity,” says Barkha Bhatnagar Das, Cofounder, Greendigo. “We have a clear and focused vision, which is to make organic kids clothing a norm rather than an exception. With someone as relatable and honest as Dia, we have no doubt that our message will hit home.”
With this partnership, Greendigo hopes to create awareness about the harmful effects of toxic chemicals that are found in conventional baby clothing.

Greendigo hopes to leverage Mirza’s wide and diverse platform to push for a switch to organic, specifically clothing and nursery essentials that focus on comfort, quality, safety, functionality and aesthetics.
“There’s nothing more important to us than the comfort and safety of babies. So, we spend a lot of time understanding the unique challenges that new parents face,” explains Meghna Kishore, co-founder, Greendigo.

Being a new mom and speaking about the strategic partnership, she said, “What I love most about Greendigo is the fact that it speaks to the parent and the planetarian in me. As a mom to a year-old baby boy, I’ve become deeply protective of all nature’s creations. Hence, supporting a brand that safeguards the well-being of all forms of life, couldn’t make me happier. The fact that the brand walks the talk when it comes to sustainable practices resonated with me 100% - be it their internationally certified products, plastic-free packaging, zero carbon emission operations or alignment with all 17 UN SDGs.”

It’s safe to say that this union is a natural extension of both parties, Mirza and the Co-founders, beliefs and values. This also throws light on the growing baby wear segment and the potential this industry has.

Ayan Mukerji reveals he wanted to do a bear sequence like the lavish animal sequence in RRR; confessed he couldn’t do it due to budget constraints

Brahmastra has gone on to roar at the box office with the film receiving a lot of appreciation from fans and viewers. Despite the low phase in Bollywood, the fantasy adventure bringing together real-life couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt together for the first time, has been doing good business at the box office. While expectations are riding high not just for Part One but also for the upcoming two parts of the trilogy, Ayan Mukerji has asserted that the next parts will be academically inclined towards Indian mythology rather than human emotions. Recalling his experience of shooting for Part One, the filmmaker revealed that he had to comprise on shots due to budget constraints including a scene that was eventually incorporated in the SS Rajamouli film RRR.

Ayan Mukerji reveals he wanted to do a bear sequence like the lavish animal sequence in RRR; confessed he couldn’t do it due to budget constraints

Reminiscing about one such incident, Ayan Mukerji revealed during FICCI 2022, that he had planned a bear sequence quite similar to the one showcased in RRR featuring Junior NTR. However, he couldn’t achieve what SS Rajamouli could, because of budget restrictions. Speaking about the kind of compromises he had to make during Brahmastra, Ayan said during a media interaction, “I think there is no life or relationship without compromise. Even in Brahmastra, there were many times when I had thought of something but couldn’t do it that way or there were times when we hoped we could do it but were not able to. Let me tell you something interesting. In RRR, there is this interval sequence where all the animals jump out, which is an incredible sequence. That sequence is done by Namit’s company as well. A few years ago, I had thought of such an incredible sequence with a bear in Brahmastra. But due to budget constraints, we had to cut the bear out of part one but it was a great sequence. Now in RRR, they managed to put the sequence with a lot of other animals. Even now, when I meet Namit I ask him about how he made me compromise on the bear sequence. So you do compromise but still, try to do your best.”

Speaking of Brahmastra, the film features Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in lead roles along with Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles. It released on September 9 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. On the other hand, RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli starring Ram Charan, Junior NTR, along with Alia Bhatt released on March 24.

Ayan Mukerji reveals he doesn’t want to take up another 7 years for Brahmastra 2; reveals what Part Two and Part Three are all about

Readers would be aware that Brahmastra was announced years ago, way back somewhere in 2015. Seven years later, the film finally saw the light of the day and has opened up to rave reviews from audiences. The VFX of the film is being highly appreciated and there are a lot of expectations riding high on the second part of the trilogy. When the film was announced with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead, filmmaker Ayan Mukerji asserted that it is only the first part of the Brahmastra trilogy. Speaking about the other two parts at the recently held FICCI event in Mumbai, Ayan, who shared the stage with producer Karan Johar, opened up about the details of the film.

Ayan Mukerji reveals he doesn’t want to take up another 7 years for Brahmastra 2; reveals what Part Two and Part Three are all about

At the recent FICCI event, Ayan Mukerji said, “We hope we can complete the film faster and people can enjoy it. That's the vision! Our production processes are now being able to fasten this Astraverse. It was very important to achieve that because we can’t take another 7 years to make Part 2. So how do we integrate that quality within that amount of time?” The filmmaker asserted that the work on the second installment of the trilogy will be completed at a much faster pace. He went on to add, “I feel that urge to start working on part two how to get faster. So that's the vision. We have to make this all happen.”

During the same event, Ayan also spoke about what the second and third parts will be like. While there have been theories and ideas floating around about what the next film will be, the filmmaker opened up by asserting that the two films will be a lot more technical unlike the first. He added, “I think what also attracted a lot of people was Indian spirituality along with the visual spectacle. I think it’s a very important ingredient. I realized very early on that the bedrock of this fantasy needs to come from Indian history.”

He added, “I did not approach the first part in a scholarly fashion, I approached it in a very emotional fashion. In fact, as I move on to part two and part three, we might get a little more academic on Astras and will be reading a lot about Indian mythology. But in Part One, I approached it in a very emotional manner. The first part was more about my connection with my faith, with God, stuff in me that I had forgotten, the shlokas that I had heard, what was my understanding of Hindu philosophy and I just expressed all of it. I went with this idea that if I do this in a pure way with a pure heart, somehow it will go through very naturally and people will not have any issues.”

He went on to speak about how Brahmastra did not get entangled in any controversy because he made it with pure intention. “I think we had one issue with Ranbir kicking the Kandi in the trailer you know he was wearing slippers but it went through very nicely. So I think my instinct worked,” he concluded.

Karan Johar opens up about ‘Marvel-ous’ universe of Astras; says, “Each astra can be a franchise in itself”

Exploring the rare theme of Indian mythology, Brahmastra is a fantasy adventure film that seems to be receiving a positive response from the audiences. Amidst Bollywood films facing several challenges to earn box office collections, the Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt starrer has been doing well. During the recent event of FICCI, filmmaker Karan Johar, who produced the big-budget, VFX-heavy film, spoke about it and also opened up about how vast the subject is.

Karan Johar opens up about ‘Marvel-ous’ universe of Astras; says, “Each astra can be a franchise in itself”

In the recently held FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry) event, Karan Johar broached the topic of Astras, wherein he explained that the film has explored so many Astras like the Nandiastra, Vanastra, Jalastra and how considering how massive the description of each one of them is, it can create an entire universe in itself. Speaking about Brahmastra, filmmaker Karan Johar said, “Each Astra can be a massive movie and a franchise itself. Can you imagine what this one film can really do if we make the right move in the future? It is actually a creator of a ‘Marvel’ous universe.”

While he elaborated on how huge each of these concepts can be created, he also referred to the popular Marvel Universe. The universe of Marvel characters is possibly one of the biggest comic franchises across the world.

Coming to Brahmastra, the film featured Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead role along with Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, Mouni Roy in pivotal roles. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the first installment of the trilogy, Brahmastra Part One released seven years after it was announced. The film hit the big screens on September 9 in three languages which includes Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
