Shah Rukh Khan helped team Marjaavaan with certain VFX shots for Riteish Deshmukh’s role as a dwarf!
Riteish Deshmukh will be playing the role of a dwarf for the first time in Milap Zaveri’s Marjaavaan. The actor is also the antagonist in the Sidharth Malhotra, Tara Sutaria, and Rakul Preet Singh starrer film. Marjaavaan being a full-fledged masala film, the expectations are quite high from the same. The star cast is promoting the film in full swing and Ritiesh spoke about getting help from Shah Rukh Khan for certain VFX shots in an interview with a leading daily. Shah Rukh Khan has also played the role of a dwarf in Aanand L Rai’s Zero. The actor happens to own one of the best VFX set up in the country and coincidently, he was shooting for Zero around the same time Ritiesh was shooting for Marjaavan. In the interview, Riteish revealed that Shah Rukh Khan was generous enough to help Milap out with certain VFX shots because he had the best equipment and his production budget was on a bigger scale. Pagalpanti’s next song, ‘Walla Walla’, is an Arabic themed party number that features the entire star cast!
Anees Bazmee’s Pagalpanti is a multi-starrer comedy starring John Abraham, Arshad Warsi, Anil Kapoor, Ileana D’Cruz, Urvashi Rautela, Kriti Kharbanda, and Pulkit Samrat among the others. With an elaborate star cast, the movie’s trailer has surely tickled the audience’s funny bones. The makers have already released a remake of the song, ‘Tum Par Hum Hain Atke’, from Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya. Now, the star cast is all set to make their fans groove to the upcoming Arabic themed party song, ‘Walla Walla’. The song is voiced by Nakash Aziz, Neeti Mohan, and Nayeem Shah and is choreographed by Ganesh Acharya. John spoke about the song to a leading daily and said that the tunes of this number are completely different and it is nothing we’ve ever heard before. Director Anees Bazmee spoke about the song and said that it is quite special for him since everyone wanted to opt for a Punjabi wedding song. Since he did not want to make it stereotypical, he opted for something different and revealed that the team couldn’t stop listening to it on loop. He went on to say that it looks great on-screen and he’s certain that the audience will enjoy it too. The movie is slated to release on November 22 under Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series banner. Ananya Panday is all praises for her Pati Patni Aur Woh co-star Kartik Aaryan!
Ananya Panday and Kartik Aaryan’s chemistry is quite the talk of the tinsel town, especially after the trailer of Pati Patni Aur Woh was released. Recently, the first song of the film, ‘Dheeme Dheeme’, was released and the duo along with Bhumi Pednekar has clearly set the screens on fire with their oomph. With Bosco Martis’ choreography and groovy tunes by Tony Kakkar, the song has crossed quite a few million views on YouTube. Talking about the song and her equation with Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Panday said they understand each other well. It surely makes it easier to work with someone if you have a level of understanding. Ayushmann Khurrana, Radhika Apte and Tabu starrer Andhadhun to release in Japan
Filmmaker Sriram Raghavan's Andhadhun, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Radhika Apte, and Tabu, won several accolades at the National Film Awards this year. With critical acclaim and the audience's positive response, the film went on to become of the finest films of 2018. And it grabbed Ayushmann Khurrana his first National Award for Best Actor. Now, after receiving a good response in China, Andhadhun will now release in Japan on November 15, 2019. The film was a black comedy in which Ayushmann played a blind pianist and Tabu was the antagonist. Andhadhun has been produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Matchbox Pictures and distributed internationally by Eros International.
Imtiaz Ali to make a film on the life of actress Madhubala
Until now, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has given us some memorable films like Jab We Met, Rockstar, Highway, etc. The Imtiaz Ali is now all set out to try his hands at a biopic. The filmmaker is looking forward to making a biopic on one of the most talented and beautiful actresses of India- Begum Mumtaz Jehan Dehlavi or better known as Madhubala. Ali recently acquired the rights to make a biopic on her either as a film r web series. As per reports, the biopic will narrate the life of Madhubala from the time she made her debut as a child actor in Basant to her big break as an actress opposite Raj Kapoor in Neel Kamal. Imtiaz Ali has also acquired a Life Story Rights Assignment Agreement from her family. While the cast of the film has not been revealed yet, Madhubala's sister Madhur Brij Bushan wishes to see Kareena Kapoor Khan essay the role. Meanwhile, on the work front, Imtiaz Ali is working on the post-production of his upcoming film starring Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan. The film is a sequel to the 2009 film Love Aaj Kal. Jealous man in the US allegedly kills wife for being a Hrithik Roshan fan
A 33-year-old man from the United States allegedly stabbed his wife to death as he found his wife's obsession towards Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan unbearable, and later hung himself to death. As per reports, Dineshwar Budhidat from Queens was very jealous of the fact that his 27-year-old wife Donne Dojoy, a bar-tender by profession, was a huge fan of Hrithik. Mala Ramdhani, a karaoke singer who worked at the same bar as Donne did, revealed that she was often stopped from watching songs or films featuring Hrithik at home as her husband would get jealous. Reports also state that the woman had moved out of the apartment where she lived with her husband, but has visited the place for some time. After committing the murder, Dineshwar allegedly texted his sister-in-law confessing that he had killed her and also directed her as to how she could find the house key. Then he left the house and committed suicide nearby. Donne was apparently abused, threatened and beaten by the husband in the past as well, and even had an order of protection from the court after Dineshwar was arrested in August, on charges of slapping and strangling her.

Disagreements between actors and directors happen but they usually tend to get sorted out before the release of the film. But looks tough on this one. Apparently, due to deteriorating relations, Akshay Kumar (plays ATS Chief Veer Sooryavanshi), and Rohit Shetty have had a major fallout while shooting for Sooryavanshi and stopped communicating with each other completely. Besides Akshay Kumar, the cop action-drama also stars Katrina Kaif, Gulshan Grover, Neena Gupta, Sikandar Kher and Niharica Raizada among others. Says a trade source, “There are icy vibes between the lead actor and the director as they don't talk to each other on the sets of Sooryavanshi. Apparently, Akshay and Rohit have major problems with each other and to such a degree that they have stopped talking to each other. There were massive creative differences on the script and the way the movie was being shot which apparently led to a showdown between both one day. Since that day they don't talk to each other but communicate on the sets through the assistant directors who explain the shots to Akshay before filming. Rohit has a movie to complete with a release date (March 27, 2020) looming over him so maybe he pushes things around a bit to get things done his way. While those who have worked with Rohit realise that this is his style of working, to others like Akshay, who is working with him for the first time, it may look as if Rohit is doing whatever he wants and throwing his weight around so things have been spinning a bit out of control. One has heard that these days he comes on the sets after Akshay arrives. Everybody knows how punctual the superstar is and never makes anybody wait. The director ideally is one of the first to arrive to give instructions to his team on a movie set.” The source adds that while creative differences have opened up between Rohit and Akshay, the main reason for their cold war goes way back – when the filmmaker had preponed the release date of Sooryavanshi to March 27, 2020, something which Akshay had apparently not been consulted over. “Akshay is a cool, hassle-free guy and a thorough professional. He never interferes in any decision that his director or producer makes but he was upset when Rohit decided to prepone Sooryavanshi without even informing him. Apparently, the filmmaker had made this decision talking to Salman Khan directly. A hurt Akshay kept quiet but when script issues spiralled out of control, he could no longer keep quiet as his dates were being jostled around. He is very organised and his dates are chalked out months in advance. With re-shooting of Sooryavanshi happening, his dates were getting messed up with his other projects. Apparently, Akshay is also unhappy with the re-shoot of some major scenes in the movie.” A major fallout because of the rumoured rift between the filmmaker and the superstar, the trade source says, is a change of the promotional strategy. “Rohit and Akshay will not promote the film together. At the most they may come together for the promo launch only. But interviews and promotions they won’t be doing together. Apparently, relations have soured so much between them that one day, Karan Johar had to be called on the sets to intervene and sort things out. He is playing the mediator to make sure that the project gets completed on time.” During the shoot of Dilwale, similar rumours of a rift between Shah Rukh Khan and Rohit Shetty had surfaced, leading to speculations that the two wouldn’t work together again. Recently, there was talk that Hrithik Roshan had left Farah Khan and Rohit’s next movie and the two filmmakers had approached Akshay for it. Raakhee Gulzar makes a comeback after 16 years
Raakhee Gulzar the legendary actress who ruled Hindi and Bengali cinema for more than 25 years with memorable performances in a slew of films in both the languages was last seen in Rituparno Ghosh’s whodunit Shubho Mahurat in 2003. And now she is back on the screen with a Bengali film Gautam Haldar’s Nirbaan. It was screened on November 9 as part of the Kolkata International Film festival. Says the forthright actress, “The film has been ready for some time now. I’ve no idea why its release is delayed. But it’s a very relevant subject. We’ve made it in Bengali and Hindi.” It was a triumphant homecoming for veteran actress Raakhee Gulzar when she touched down on Kolkata on November 8 as a special guest at the Kolkata International Film festival. Shockingly, Raakheeji whose breathtaking beauty inspired Sahir Ludhianvi to write the lines Kabhi kabhi mere dil mein khayaal aata hai ke jaise tujhko banaya gaya hai mere liye, reveals that she has never been invited by Festival before. “This is the 25th year of existence for the Kolkata Film Festival. Not once did they invite me before this. This is the first invitation I’ve got and that too because Mamtaji (Bengal’s chief minister Mama Bannerjee) wanted me to be honoured. I said yes because of her.” The honorary function went swimmingly with Bengal’s chief minister ensuring her presence throughout. Says Raakheeji appreciatively, “She was giving instructions about the Bengal cyclone on the phone while attending the function to honour me. She is a wonderful person, much misunderstood and vilified for being a powerful woman.” Shah Rukh Khan was also present at the function to honour Raakheeji. Says the veteran actress fondly, “Shah Rukh is very fond of both me and Mamtaji. Ever since I played his mother in Baazigar and Karan Arjun he has been very close to me. And he hasn’t changed one bit over the years. He held my hand and greeted me with the same warmth.” Raakheedi invited Shah Rukh to accompany her on stage. “On stage I made him recite two lines from Rabindranath Tagore’s O Amar Desher which talks about bowing one’s head to one’s motherland. Shah Rukh recited the lines like a Bengali.” So her fans have something to look forward to? She laughs her throaty laughter. “Fans? I don’t think anyone even remembers me today. Time has moved on. The young audience today is not familiar with my work…or maybe they know Kabhi Kabhie, Paroma and a few others.” Any unfulfilled wishes? “Yes, I always wanted to work with Tapan Sinha. According to me he is the best filmmaker Bengal has ever produced. So progressive, so ahead of his times. It was my misfortune that I never got a chance to work with him.” Working with Rituparno Ghosh was also a pleasure. “He was very very good with women characters. In fact I recommended Ritu to Aishwarya Rai when she was considering Chokher Bali. It is sad that he died so young. Amitabh Bachchan to take a sabbatical from work
Long-standing health issues have re-surfaced in mega-star Amitabh Bachchan’s life. Apparently, Bachchan has been advised a long layoff from acting by doctors. And this time, he has no option but to comply. According to sources in the know, Big B would be taking time off right after the completion and release of Nagraj Manjule’s football film Jhund in December. “The other projects that Amitji has signed would have to wait,” informs a family source. “Right now it is imperative that he take a longish break. He is physically exhausted; his body needs rest repair and healing.” This time, Big B’s family is also adamant about his time off. “Wife Jaya, daughter Shweta and son Abhishek have made it very clear to Bachchan Saab that this time he must take the medical advice seriously. He has been seriously advised to take time off on several occasions in recent years. Each time he has disregarded the warning and continued to work. Not this time. The family will make sure he takes time off for rest,” says a family friend of the Bachchan family.

Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior - It's going to be battle between Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan
Ajay Devgn is gearing for the release of his next film, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior which marks his 100th film in the industry. The actor will essay the role of Tanaji Malusare, who fought alongside Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Saif Ali Khan will take over the role of antagonist Udaybhan Rathod, who fought against Tanaji during the Battle Of Sinhagad. Director Om Raut said that Ajay Devgn was his first choice for the role. He started writing the film in 2015 and gave the narration to Ajay two years ago. He said that he was fascinated by the story since he was a child. Om Raut also said that Ajay has the persona, eyes, and physic that exudes power. For the filmmaker, it was difficult to recreate the 17th century without any visual references but at the same true they had to stay true to the characters and mileau. Saif Ali Khan and Ajay Devgn are all set to face off in the film. Om Raut further added that during the filming they realized that this was a battle royal between the two stars. Kajol will be essaying the role of Savitri Bai, Tanaji Malusare's wife who stayed by his side through thick and thin. She will be playing a Maharashtrian role for the first time. Akshay Kumar is a rare superstar who has multiple releases in a year. With the exception of the year 2017 when he had just two releases, the actor has at least three films releasing every year. In 2012, he created a record by having as many as 5 releases – Housefull 2, Rowdy Rathore, Joker, OMG Oh My God and Khiladi 786! This year, 2019, he has come up with 3 films already – Kesari, Mission Mangal and Housefull 4 – and now awaiting the release of Good Newwz. What’s interesting to note is that he always spaces out his releases well. As a result, there has rarely been a time when promotions of his films have overlapped as no two films have released close to each other. However, this trend is about to broken, it seems. If all goes as scheduled, then Akshay Kumar will have two releases in less than a month! In the end of 2020, Akshay Kumar will present Bachchan Pandey on the day of Christmas. It is directed by Farhad Samji, who recently helmed Akshay’s Diwali reincarnation comedy, Housefull 4. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, it is said to be an adaption of the Ajith starrer Veeram, though it won’t be a scene-to-scene remake. The first look of the film was out with the announcement and it showcases Akshay in a badass, massy avatar that will surely be lapped up by the audiences. Yesterday, Akshay Kumar fans got a nice surprise as the actor announced that he’s signed a film titled Bell Bottom, co-produced by Vashu Bhagnani and Nikkhil Advani and directed by Ranjit M Tewari. It is said to be inspired by true events and is set in the 80s. Just like it happened with Bachchan Pandey, the makers unveiled the first look of Bell Bottom as well along with the announcement and it got a great response. It features the actor in a very retro look which is in sync with the film’s setting and also the title. Interestingly, the makers have announced that the film will release on January 22, 2021! This means that Bell Bottom will release 29 days after Bachchan Pandey, which is expected to come out on December 25, 2020. It’ll be hence be an interesting time for Akshay fans as they’ll end 2020 and begin 2021 with two diverse yet entertaining films of their favourite star! However, a source close to the team of Bachchan Pandey hints that the Farhad Samji-directorial might not make it on the said date. The source says, “The scripting of the film is taking longer than usual. Though a final call is yet not taken, the producers are thinking of postponing the shoot.” The source further says, “The other reason is that Aamir Khan-starrer Laal Singh Chaddha is also releasing on Christmas 2020. Though his last film Thugs Of Hindostan flopped, his credibility is intact and his films always generated tremendous excitement and emerge as biggest grossers of the year. Laal Singh Chaddha looks excellent and something in Aamir Khan’s zone. Hence, a clash can prove detrimental which is why Bachchan Pandey might move.” The source before signing off makes it clear, “For all you know, Bachchan Pandey might still make it on Christmas 2020. Even this film is quite exciting. A clearer picture will emerge in the days to come.” Even if Bachchan Pandey is postponed, Akshay Kumar would still have three releases in 2020 – Rohit Shetty’s action flick Sooryavanshi on March 27, the horror comedy Laxmmi Bomb on Eid and the period drama Prithviraj on Diwali. Chhichhore actor Naveen Polishetty reveals that he was mistaken for Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly by casting director
Naveen Polishetty who made his acting debut in the Hindi film industry with the recently released Chhichhore revealed that he was approached for the role because of mistaken identity. Naveen recently appeared as a guest on stand-up comedian Abish Mathew’s show, Son Of Abish, where he spoke about how he landed the role of Acid in Chhichhore. Talking about getting a call from the casting director of Chhichhore, Naveen said, “Niteish sir apparently called the casting director and said, 'I want to test for Chhichhore. I want Nivin Pauly's (Malayalam superstar) audition’. So the casting director calls me and told me that, ‘Nitesh sir is asking for your audition. He wants to test you for an important part.' I did the audition and sent it." Later, when Nitesh Tiwari saw the audition clip, he was left confused and asked the casting director that Nivin looked very different. The casting director then called up Naveen Polishetty and asked him whether he had shaved in the past six months. This was the last Naveen heard from the casting team. Producer Viki Rajani known for backing innovative subjects in his films like Table No. 21, Phobia, R…Rajkumar, Munna Michael amongst others has now signed up writer-director Manish Gupta to direct two suspense films based on true events. Manish Gupta who's presently riding high on the critical acclaim garnered by the recently released Section 375 written by him said, “Viki is a young, dynamic and visionary producer and has an interesting slate lined up for the next two years. I’m associating with him on a long-term basis. Both our films will create two separate franchises; one is a murder mystery franchise and the other a legal drama franchise” Viki Rajani confirmed the news by saying, “I saw Section 375 and was blown away by the story, screenplay and dialogues written by Manish. I recalled that Manish had previously written the story, screenplay and dialogues for Amitabh-Bachchan-starrer Sarkar. Intrigued by Manish’s work, I saw Rahasya directed by Manish, I realised that Manish is a master in the genre of suspense and I immediately decided to back his vision. Delhi shooting of Dostana 2 dropped due to pollution

One hears from reliable sources that the shooting of the Karan Johar production Dostana 2 which was to feature Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor has been called off due to the unfriendly climatic condition. A source clued in to the unfortunate setback reveals, “The cast and crew couldn’t breathe. Visibility was so low that the camera couldn’t capture the shots properly. It was a no-win situation. The team decided to disperse until the weather improves.” Interestingly a while ago, Priyanka Chopra, who starred in the original Dostana film in 2008, was shooting in Delhi with Rajkummar Rao for The White Tiger. She posted a message about the hostile climate of Delhi and got trolled for it. But the suffocating air in Delhi has begun to impact Bollywood’s Delhi plans. A number of filmmakers are either waiting for the smog to clear or seriously thinking of re-locating their films to another city.
Post Saaho, no Hindi version for Prabhas’ next Jaan
Telugu superstar Prabhas suffered a bit of a box office blow with the multi-lingual action thriller Saaho. The actor has now moved on to his next. Titled Jaan, it would be an out-and-out romantic film with Pooja Hegde as his significant other. Sources in the know reveal Jaan, to be directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, would feature minimal action. “Prabhas feels his fans have had their fill of action in Saaho, at least for a while. Jaan will be a romantic film with a large number of songs to be composed by Amit Trivedi.” More significantly there will be no Hindi version of Jaan. According to sources, Prabhas is done with trying to woo the Hindi belt for now. “He will focus on his primary market for the next couple of films. The Hindi market can wait. Prabhas won’t lose his core audience for a pie in the sky,” says the source. The Hindi version of Saaho lost a huge amount of money, thereby providing a lesson to all actors from the non-Hindi language making a crossover into the mainstream. Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Bala hit by Ayodhya decision
Ayushmann Khurrana’s eighth consecutive hit Bala was hit by a roadblock on Saturday when, anticipating unrest after the Ayodhya decision, theatres in some cities in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, specially Bhopal, decided to down shutters. The one-day hit has, however, not put this winner of a film on the back foot. Collections everywhere soared by 60 percent over the weekend. Bihar’s prominent distributor Kishan Damani comments, “The collections of Bala are better and has opened stronger than Ayushmann Khurrana’s previous release Dream Girl with better reviews all across. Yes, collections were hit in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh where theatres were closed to government orders.” Another prominent exhibitor-distributor from Mumbai who wishes to go unnamed says Bala was initially affected by the release of a similar film a week earlier. “After Ujda Chaman last week audiences felt it was too much to see another film about premature balding. But they went nevertheless only because of Ayushmann Khurrana who has become synonymous with quality products.”

The actor happens to own one of the best VFX set up in the country and coincidently, he was shooting for Zero around the same time Ritiesh was shooting for Marjaavan. Ali recently acquired the rights to make a biopic on her either as a film r web series. As per reports, the biopic will narrate the life of Madhubala from the time she made her debut as a child actor in Basant to her big break as an actress opposite Raj Kapoor in Neel Kamal. Imtiaz Ali has also acquired a Life Story Rights Assignment Agreement from her family. While the cast of the film has not been revealed yet, Madhubala's sister Madhur Brij Bushan wishes to see Kareena Kapoor Khan essay the role. Apparently, Akshay and Rohit have major problems with each other and to such a degree that they have stopped talking to each other. There were massive creative differences on the script and the way the movie was being shot which apparently led to a showdown between both one day. Since that day they don't talk to each other but communicate on the sets through the assistant directors who explain the shots to Akshay before filming. Rohit has a movie to complete with a release date (March 27, 2020) looming over him so maybe he pushes things around a bit to get things done his way. While those who have worked with Rohit realise that this is his style of working, to others like Akshay, who is working with him for the first time, it may look as if Rohit is doing whatever he wants and throwing his weight around so things have been spinning a bit out of control. One has heard that these days he comes on the sets after Akshay arrives. Everybody knows how punctual the superstar is and never makes anybody wait. He is very organised and his dates are chalked out months in advance. With re-shooting of Sooryavanshi happening, his dates were getting messed up with his other projects. Apparently, Akshay is also unhappy with the re-shoot of some major scenes in the movie.” A major fallout because of the rumoured rift between the filmmaker and the superstar, the trade source says, is a change of the promotional strategy. “Rohit and Akshay will not promote the film together. At the most they may come together for the promo launch only. But interviews and promotions they won’t be doing together. Apparently, relations have soured so much between them that one day, Karan Johar had to be called on the sets to intervene and sort things out. According to sources in the know, Big B would be taking time off right after the completion and release of Nagraj Manjule’s football film Jhund in December. “The other projects that Amitji has signed would have to wait,” informs a family source. “Right now it is imperative that he take a longish break. He is physically exhausted; his body needs rest repair and healing.” This time, Big B’s family is also adamant about his time off. “Wife Jaya, daughter Shweta and son Abhishek have made it very clear to Bachchan Saab that this time he must take the medical advice seriously. The film is going to be the first Gujarati sports drama, where Daisy Shah will share screen space with Pratik Gandhi and Kevin Dave. In a recent interview, Daisy Shah spoke about the film and said, "I have no restrictions of not doing regional films. Gujarat 11 is a good script, it is a full package of entertainment, comedy, emotions and has a message for the audience."
