Mayuri Deshmukh supports 'Menstrual Leave'; says "women shouldn't be compelled to work against will in difficult circumstances"

While society is slowly changing and is evolving in a better way, we've been witnessing a huge decline in societal taboos. Today, women are much more comfortable in embracing their womanhood as compared to what the scenario was before. Recently the topic of 'Menstrual leave' was introduced where a lot of women right from the corporate industry to the domestic help sector, demanded Menstrual leave. For some women it might seem like a task to carry out the work efficiently while being on their periods.

Actress Mayuri Deshmukh, who has always been vocal about women empowerment in her previous interviews as well did not take a step back in speaking on this issue. When we asked her about the same. The Dear Aajo actress asserts "Honestly, it is a personal choice! If a woman feels the need for it, she should definitely apply for it and if you don't it's your choice! But if you can manage the work keeping up the same energy then you shouldn't. It is very individualistic, but women shouldn't be compelled to work against their will in difficult circumstances or if they're not feeling well at all but then again not everyone goes through it". Well, Mayuri has time and again has stood up for the rights of women and their empowerment but a propagator of 'equality' Mayuri certainly has a very important point to make which she did through this interview!”

On the professional front, Mayuri is currently winning hearts as Malini in Imlie.
