Shah Rukh Khan skips Mannat balcony tradition on 60th birthday, cites safety concerns: “My deepest apologies”

November 2, 2025, marked a significant milestone for Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan as he turned 60, an occasion celebrated by fans around the world. Traditionally, the actor greets his admirers from the balcony of his iconic residence, Mannat, drawing thousands of fans eager for a glimpse of the King Khan. However, this year’s celebration was different.

Due to ongoing renovations at Mannat and concerns over crowd control, Shah Rukh Khan was advised by authorities not to step out and meet the gathered fans. In a heartfelt message posted on X (formerly Twitter), SRK expressed his apologies to his fans, stating, “My deepest apologies to all of you but have been informed that it is for the overall safety of everyone due to crowd control issues.”

The large crowd that assembled outside Mannat had to be asked to disperse to maintain safety protocols, despite the enthusiasm and love fans brought to the occasion. This decision, while disappointing for many, was made with the well-being of everyone as a priority.

To keep the birthday celebrations interactive, a meet and greet session was organized by SRK’s fan club at the Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir Auditorium, Bandra, Mumbai. Many fans were excited for the opportunity to meet Shah Rukh Khan there, continuing the joyous atmosphere despite the change in plans for the traditional Mannat meet.

Pankaj Tripathi’s mother, Smt. Hemwanti Devi, passes away at 89 in Bihar

Actor Pankaj Tripathi’s mother, Smt. Hemwanti Devi, passed away at the family’s hometown in Belsand, Gopalganj, Bihar, on Friday. She was 89 years old and had been unwell for some time.

According to an official statement issued on behalf of the Tripathi family, Smt. Hemwanti Devi “left for her heavenly abode peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by her loved ones.” The actor was by her side during her final moments.

The cremation took place on Saturday in Belsand, attended by close family members, relatives, and friends.

In the statement, the family expressed deep sorrow over the loss and requested privacy during this difficult time. “The Tripathi family is mourning this immense loss and humbly request everyone to keep Smt. Hemwanti Devi in their thoughts and prayers. The family also requests the media and well-wishers to respect their privacy during this period of grief and allow them time to mourn in peace,” it read.

Smt. Hemwanti Devi’s passing marks a personal loss for Pankaj Tripathi, who has often spoken fondly of his roots and family in Bihar. The actor and his family are currently in Belsand for the last rites.

Netflix unveils Operation Safed Sagar at Sekhon Indian Air Force Marathon 2025, honoring IAF’s daring Kargil mission

The spirit of India soared high as Netflix unveiled its upcoming series, Operation Safed Sagar —an ambitious retelling of the Indian Air Force’s pivotal role in the Kargil War — at the first-ever Sekhon Indian Air Force Marathon 2025 (SIM-25) in New Delhi. Created by Abhijeet Singh Parmar and Kushal Srivastava and directed by Oni Sen, the series is headlined by Siddharth, Jimmy Shergill, Abhay Verma, Mihir Ahuja, Taaruk Raina, and Arnav Bhasin, among others.

The marathon, held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi, brought together serving officers, veterans, dignitaries, including Air Chief Marshal AP Singh- Chief of the Airstaff, members of the press, and thousands of civilians united in pride for the Indian Air Force. Amid an atmosphere charged with patriotism, Netflix India’s VP of Content, Monika Shergill, and Series Head, Tanya Bami, unveiled the teaser of what promises to be Netflix’s biggest Indian series of 2026.

Produced by Matchbox Shots and Feel Good Films, and created with the support of the Indian Air Force, Operation Safed Sagar is a lesser-known chapter of the Kargil War based on true events. It follows a story of IAF pilots who pushed beyond their limits to attempt a daring and dangerous mission to fight for their motherland.

Filmed extensively across operational Indian Air Force bases, the series features MiG aircraft and IAF personnel and offers an authentic, high-octane portrayal of heroism.

Veteran film trade analyst and journalist Taran Adarsh has been named the ‘Digital Icon of 2025’ at an event held in Hyderabad. The award, presented as part of the Digital Icon Awards 2025, recognizes individuals who’ve made significant contributions to India’s digital media landscape.

Filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya has officially commenced shooting for his next directorial under the Rajshri Productions banner, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari in the lead. The untitled film, a romantic family entertainer, went on floors on November 1, 2025, marking the beginning of a new collaboration between Rajshri Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films.

Actor Anupam Kher, who has been a long-time collaborator of Barjatya, took to social media to share a special update from the sets. Revealing that this project marks his 549th film, Kher wrote, “ANNOUNCING MY 549th FILM:???? Delighted to share that my 549th untitled film started today with one and only SOORAJ BARJATYA! Presented him the auspicious shawl which I got from #Ayodhya! Sooraj was #MaheshBhatt Saab’s 5th assistant for my first film #Saaransh! It has been a long, happy, amazing and creatively joyous journey with him. Actually I am an integral part of @rajshrifilms and their family for all these years! As is the tradition, I have the privilege to be in the first shot of the film! Jai Shri Krishna!”

In October, Bollywood Hungama exclusively reported that Rajshri Productions has teamed up once again with Mahaveer Jain Films for this project, following their collaboration on Uunchai. The film, a romantic family entertainer starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari Wagh in lead roles, went on floors on November 1.

A source had earlier told Bollywood Hungama, “After Uunchai (2022), Sooraj Barjatya’s last film, Rajshri Productions has decided to join hands once again with Mahaveer Jain Films. Both Sooraj Barjatya and Mahaveer Jain had a wonderful time working with each other on Uunchai and hence, they decided to collaborate once more for the upcoming film.”

Presented and produced by Rajshri Productions in association with Mahaveer Jain Films and Anita Gurnani, the yet-untitled project is expected to carry Barjatya’s signature touch of warmth, relationships, and emotional depth.
