Akshay Kumar starrer Prithviraj release preponed, to now release on June 3, 2022

Akshay Kumar starrer Prithviraj was slated to hit the theatres on January 21. However, the third wave of Covid-19 led to the film getting pushed. However, after the third wave subsided, filmmakers started announcing new release dates for films. A few weeks back the team of Prithviraj had announced June 10 as the new release date of their film. However, the film will now be arriving a week before.

The YRF-backed film will now come a week before. This is the second big announcement by the production house today after they announced the release date of SRK starrer Pathaan earlier today. Akshay Kumar took to his Twitter handle to share the new release date for Prithviraj. "Elated to announce that Samrat #Prithviraj Chauhan's grand saga is arriving sooner to the big screen on 3rd June in Hindi, Tamil & Telugu," he wrote.

While Akshay plays the role of the legendary king Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, Manushi Chhillar will be seen playing Princess Sanyogita in her debut film. The role of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan’s trusted saamant, Kaka Kanha is essayed by Sanjay Dutt while Sonu Sood will be seen as Chand Vardai.

Interestingly, there were reports that the name of the film will be changed due to objection from the Sri Rajput Karni Sena. However, the character posters make it clear the film is still called Prithviraj. This grand period saga is directed by Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi.

Director Matt Reeves misses the premiere of Robert Pattinson and Zoë Kravitz starrer The Batman following Covid-19 diagnosis

Matt Reeves' rendition of the DC superhero is all set to open in theaters and fans can finally witness Robert Pattinson and Zoë Kravitz' The Batman in just about two days. The film recently had its screening at Lincoln Center in New York on Tuesday evening which saw the entire cast and crew, including Robert Pattinson and Zoë Kravitz, walk the red carpet, except the film’s director Matt Reeves.

As Variety reports, the much-awaited film’s director Matt Reeves could not attend the event after being diagnosed with Covid-19. After the cast was introduced on stage, Matt Reeves explained his absence through a live video call ahead of the screening of the film. “We were taking the film around and doing the press tour. Despite being double-vaccinated and boostered, I got COVID,” Reeves shared.

“The good news is that I’m healthy, I’m good. But I’m not with you,” the filmmaker added. “It’s a great heartbreak for me because this movie means so much to me. It was a five-year journey for me and I’m really excited that we’re sharing it with you tonight.”

Further in his speech, Matt Reeves thanked the "incredible crew" of the upcoming reboot film. “They are such incredible craftsmen, artists… [It’s] the best crew that we ever worked with. I know that so many of you are there tonight. I’m so sad that I’m not there with you,” the 55-year-old filmmaker continued, following up with a joke, “I’d like to thank each and every one of you, name by name, though they informed me that this movie we made is quite long.” Reportedly, the film's premiere was Covid-19 sensitive and proper social distancing was maintained between the viewers.

Farhan Akhtar mourns the death of Indian student in Ukraine amid war with Russia - “Feel terrible for the family”

Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar condoled the demise of an Indian student in Kharkiv, Ukraine on Sunday. An Indian student lost his life during the shelling in Kharkiv. Farhan Akhtar mourns the death of the student Naveen Shekharappa. He was from Haveri, Karnataka and was in the 4^th year of MBBS in Ukraine.

The actor condoled and wrote, “An Indian student is now a casualty of the Ukraine invasion.. feel terrible for the family… deepest condolences… hope we can get all our citizens home safe and soon.”  on his Twitter handle.

The government of India has launched the operation Ganga to bring back all the citizens and students back to India from Ukraine and they have also deployed special envoys in the neighbouring countries to coordinate in the evacuation process of the Indian Nationals.

Akshaye Widhani named CEO of Yash Raj Films

Yash Raj Films (YRF), announced today that Akshaye Widhani has been named the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective immediately. Akshaye Widhani most recently served as the Senior VP- Finance and Business Affairs and the Head of Operations, YRF Studios.

Akshaye joined YRF at the age of 22 and has been associated with YRF for 17 years. He has been responsible for setting up and running several business verticals for YRF. Akshaye started his career at YRF as a studio manager, in charge of setting up operations for YRF Studios in 2005. Thereafter, he has gradually taken up leadership roles in corporate finance, strategy, and operations.

Akshaye is a graduate from the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University with a dual major in Finance and Entrepreneurship. He is a philanthropist at heart and has been spearheading the recent initiatives for The Yash Chopra Foundation.

Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor's upcoming yet to be titled film, helmed by Luv Ranjan, has been pushed further from Republic Day 2023 to Holi 2023. The film will now release in theatres on March 8, 2023.

Ankita Lokhande and Vicky Jain reveal Sushant Singh Rajput's death was a 'tough test' for their relationship

Actress Ankita Lokhande tied the knot with her long time boyfriend Vicky Jain in December 2021. The couple is one of the most celebrated couples in the television industry. They have also made their Television debut as a married couple with the reality show Smart Jodi. Before dating Vicky Jain, Ankita Lokhande was in a relationship with late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

During their appearance in the show, The newly married couple not just talked about their love story but also the 'difficult phase' after Ankita's ex-boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput's death.

During the show, Ankita and Vicky were taken down memory lane as the host Maniesh Paul showed them an old picture. Seeing the picture Ankita shared that it was from 2013 and taken at Arjun Bijlani's house. She revealed that Vicky and she weren't even friends then but only met formally at their common friends' parties. The actress also shared that it was through one of her worst phases in life that she connected with Vicky on the phone and there's been no looking back.

Later, the couple also talked about late actor Sushant Singh rajput's demise and how it severely affected them. They also revealed that it was a 'tough test' for their relationship. Ankita told Maniesh, "It's not easy..har ladke ke bass ki baat nahi hai uss waqt apni ladki ke saath khada hona ( Not every guy has that to stand with his girl during tough times). I was going through a very bad phase and Vicky mere saath khade rahe hain (Vicky was there with me)."

Vicky said, "Relationship ka isse tough test nahi ho sakta...jo cheezein achanak se beech mein hui. Aisa turn aaya jisne humein hi kya pure nation ko hila diya. Jo bhi hua bahot shocking tha, sudeen tha...aise cheezon ke liye koi bhi insaan prepared nahi ho sakta hai. (There couldn't be any tougher test for us with the thing that happened midway. A turn came in that did not just shake us but the entire nation. "

Ankita praised Vicky for giving her clarity and letting her speak her mind amid several speculations that were going on about her relationship with Sushant Singh Rajput. She said, "The time was such. People had different narratives. I was constantly being questioned. When I wouldn’t answer, they would make an answer of their own because of which Vicky and I faced a lot."

Vicky said, "A lot of people had wrong notions about things. I was unable to understand it all. I am proud of Ankita that she very boldly handled it. She fulfilled all the duties and responsibilities she had. Wherever it was needed, she said her piece for herself and that relationship. For her honesty, I have always supported her."
