Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma’s directorial Rangeela starring Aamir Khan, Urmila Matondkar, and Jackie Shroff completed 25 years earlier this month in September. Considered as one of the cult classics in the Indian cinema, the film garnered a lot of attention with the love triangle between Mili, Munna, and Kamaljeet.
During a reunion panel discussion with RJ Rohini for Radio Nasha, the cast along with Ram Gopal Varma and music composer AR Rahman came together to reminisce the fond memories. Speaking of the film, Ram Gopal Varma made an interesting revelation that Jackie Shroff has not seen the full film yet. Aamir Khan was quick to say that he would believe that Jackie has not seen the film.
Ram Gopal Varma said, “I don’t think Jackie has seen the film. I think he has seen some scenes in parts on Youtube.”
When Aamir questioned Jackie about it, he was gesturing with folded hands and admitted, “Ramu is right, I have seen it in parts. I hardly watch films.”
Music composer AR Rahman, who made his Hindi debut with Rangeela, also said, “Even I haven’t watched the film fully. After the first premiere, I haven’t watched it.”
Rangeela released back on September 8, 1995.
