After Saif Ali Khan, Ranveer Singh turns brand ambassador for Ajmal Perfumes, fronts ‘Aristocrat’ campaign amid Dhurandhar success

In a significant brand move, Ranveer Singh has been announced as the new face of Ajmal Perfumes, taking over ambassadorial duties after Saif Ali Khan. The announcement was jointly made by the brand and the actor across social media platforms, marking the beginning of a fresh collaboration as Ranveer fronts the company’s latest fragrance campaign.

Currently enjoying the success of Dhurandhar The Revenge, which released on March 19 and continues to perform strongly in theatres, Ranveer has also featured in a newly unveiled commercial for Ajmal Perfumes. The campaign, built around the theme ‘Your Unseen Power’, positions ‘Aristocrat’ as a refined oudh-based fragrance with woody undertones, designed for individuals who make a lasting impression without overt display. The brand’s messaging highlights subtlety and presence, aligning with Ranveer’s portrayal in the ad, where his poised screen presence anchors the narrative.

Beyond ‘Aristocrat’, the collaboration also extends to Ajmal’s wider fragrance portfolio. Ranveer will be associated with upcoming launches including ‘Aurum Summer’, a floral unisex scent aimed at capturing freshness and vibrancy, and ‘Wisal Layl’, described as a sensual, woody fragrance that leans into deeper, more intimate notes.

Speaking about the association, Ranveer Singh shared that Ajmal Dubai represents heritage, craftsmanship, and the belief that fragrance is an extension of one’s personality—an idea he personally resonates with. He noted that the ‘Your Unseen Power’ campaign reflects this philosophy through fragrances like Aristocrat, Aurum Summer, and Wisal Layl, each capturing different facets of confidence, energy, and intimacy. He further described these fragrances not merely as perfumes, but as immersive experiences that allow individuals to step into their own ‘unseen power’.

Ajmal Perfumes, known for its legacy in crafting Oud-based scents and its strong presence in the Middle East, continues to expand its global footprint with this collaboration. By bringing Ranveer Singh on board, the brand appears to be targeting a wider, younger audience while maintaining its core identity rooted in tradition and luxury.

With this new partnership, Ranveer Singh adds another high-profile endorsement to his portfolio, while Ajmal Perfumes strengthens its positioning in the competitive global fragrance market through a campaign that blends heritage with contemporary appeal.

Dhurandhar The Revenge faces legal heat; plea seeks ban on the film’s release ahead of Tamil Nadu elections

In a significant development ahead of the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, a plea has been raised before the Madras High Court seeking a ban on the recently released film Dhurandhar The Revenge in the state. The matter was mentioned urgently on Monday, March 23, with concerns that the film’s politically charged narrative could influence voters during the crucial election period.

Advocate Sheela brought the issue before a bench comprising Chief Justice SA Dharmadhikari and Justice G Arul Murugan. The counsel argued that the film contains strong political undertones and may impact voter sentiment, especially with elections scheduled to take place on April 23, 2026.

Highlighting the timing of the release, the advocate pointed out that the Model Code of Conduct is currently in force following the March 15 announcement by the Election Commission of India. She urged the court to restrain the screening of the film in Tamil Nadu until the completion of polling, suggesting that its exhibition could resume thereafter.

Dhurandhar The Revenge, which hit theatres on March 19, has been generating considerable buzz for its high-octane narrative and intense political backdrop. The film reportedly follows the journey of a covert operative returning to India after a long mission, only to find himself entangled in a web of power, corruption, and political intrigue. With its layered storytelling and dramatic conflicts, the film has sparked conversations among audiences and critics alike.

While the court did not pass an immediate order on the oral mention, it directed the complainant to file a formal petition to examine the matter in detail. An urgent hearing is expected to take place after the complainant completes the filing process, which could determine whether the film continues its theatrical run in the state during the election period.

The development adds a fresh layer of controversy to the Ranveer Singh starrer, which has already been in the spotlight for its bold themes and strong narrative tone. As the legal proceedings unfold, all eyes will be on the court’s decision and its potential impact on both the film’s box office performance and the broader conversation around cinema and political sensitivity during elections.

Hera Pheri 3 Row: Vijay Kumar claims ‘100 percent’ IP ownership amid legal battle with Firoz Nadiadwala

A legal tussle surrounding the Hera Pheri franchise has come into focus, with Vijay Kumar asserting complete ownership over the intellectual property, as his dispute with producer Firoz Nadiadwala continues in court.

In a candid interaction with Pinkvilla, Vijay Kumar laid out his stance on the matter, claiming that the rights to the franchise have always remained with his side. Addressing the ongoing case, he confirmed, “We have the total rights for Hera Pheri franchise clean and clear, everything. And guess what? This man did the second instalment without permission.”

According to Vijay, the issue dates back to the sequel itself. While a one-time remake right for the Hindi version was granted, he alleges that subsequent developments took place without consent. “We had only given a one-time remake right for the Hindi version. He made that, but then proceeded with a second film without our consent or knowledge,” he stated, adding that the matter was not pursued legally at the time.

The dispute intensified when plans for Hera Pheri 3 surfaced. Vijay revealed that repeated attempts to resolve the issue amicably did not yield results, prompting legal action. “When he attempted a third film, we issued a notice stating clearly that he has no rights, and even the second film was a violation,” he said. He further alleged that Nadiadwala attempted to transfer or sell the project, which led to the filing of an intellectual property rights case.

Providing an update on the legal proceedings, Vijay claimed that the court has already indicated its stance. “The court has made it very clear that the rights are with us, and we are confident of getting that order as well,” he said, while also accusing the opposing side of delaying the process through repeated adjournments and non-appearance.

Despite the ongoing dispute, Vijay acknowledged the commercial value of the franchise and did not rule out future collaborations once the matter is resolved. “Selling can only be considered after we sort things out with Nadiadwala. Once that is resolved, all options are open… because it is a prime brand,” he explained.

On the creative front, he emphasised that the original trio of Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty remains integral to the franchise’s identity, noting that retaining them “makes the most business sense in every way.”

For now, the fate of Hera Pheri 3 remains uncertain, hinging largely on the outcome of the legal proceedings, which Vijay believes will eventually conclude in his favour, even as delays continue to stall a final resolution.

Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan’s health takes a toll on his forthcoming project

Salman Khan breathed a sigh of relief when his father, Salim Khan, returned home from the hospital. However, the worst may not be over yet, as the Khan patriarch is still a long way from recovery.

A source very close to the family reveals, “In fact, Salim Saab is very, very unwell. At 92, full recovery from his neurological condition is unlikely. We can only hope for the best. The family is taking him home so he can be comfortable with his loved ones. Otherwise, it is pretty much a replay of what happened with Dharmendra some months ago. We are all praying and hoping for the best.”

A close friend of Salman Khan adds that the actor has taken his father’s health decline “very badly.”

“Salman is extremely upset. His equation with his father is well known to those close to the family. He is unable to focus on anything but his father’s health. And yet, he continues to work on Maatrabhumi, navigating post-production while visibly distressed—snapping, sulking, and struggling to stay composed.”

BREAKING: Dhurandhar The Revenge beats highly anticipated Hollywood film Ready Or Not 2 overseas; brings Bahar to Mumbai’s Bahar cinema

Dhurandhar The Revenge is unstoppable; the film was expected to break records, and yet, the trade and industry are stunned by how it's performing at the box office. On Saturday, March 21, it set a new record by collecting Rs. 100 crore in a day. On Saturday, March 21, the film created history by collecting Rs. 100 crore in a single day. And now, its dominance is being felt in the Overseas market as well, where it has managed to outgross a much-awaited Hollywood sequel.

According to a report in Deadline, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, a highly anticipated sequel, opened with $9 million. On the other hand, Dhurandhar The Revenge collected a huge $10.5 million. Dhurandhar’s sequel was always set to open big, considering the response of the first part, which was released in December 2025. However, Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come, released by Fox Searclight Pictures, should have ideally opened bigger in foreign territories, considering the star cast (Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elijah Wood and Kathryn Newton). The fact that Dhurandhar The Revenge has gone past it only underlines the scale of its global craze.

Dhurandhar 2 brings Bahar to Bahar Cinema

Meanwhile, residents of Vile Parle East and Andheri East in Mumbai got a pleasant surprise as the popular Bahar Cinema will play four shows of Dhurandhar The Revenge on Sunday, March 22. This has never happened before since it commenced operations in November 2010.

According to an exhibition source, “Due to certain regulations of the commercial establishments in the cinema building, Bahar is allowed to play shows only after 5:00 pm. But with Dhurandhar The Revenge, they have made an exception. On Sunday, the film had four shows, at 8:00 am, 12:30 pm, 5:00 pm and 9:30 pm.”

Bollywood Hungama was the first one to report that Dhurandhar The Revenge’s post-midnight and early morning shows have been planned by several cinemas. As the film was released and went on a record-breaking spree, more theatres joined the bandwagon, probably for the first time. Kasturba Cinema in Malad hosted a 2:30 am show, while Woodland Cinemas in Virar, near Mumbai, arranged a 7:45 am screening on Sunday for eager moviegoers. Both shows were nearly sold out.

Dhurandhar The Revenge is produced by Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios and Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar of B62 Studios. It is written and directed by Aditya Dhar.

Delhi High Court moves to protect the personality rights of Sonakshi Sinha amid AI misuse concerns

The Delhi High Court on Friday indicated that it would issue an interim direction to safeguard the personality rights of Bollywood actor Sonakshi Sinha. The matter was heard by Justice Jyoti Singh, who was considering an application filed by the actor seeking an injunction against alleged misuse of her identity.

During the proceedings, the court asked for specific instances of infringement. In response, the counsel representing Sinha pointed to the unauthorised use of her persona and characteristics by certain AI chatbots. Taking note of the submission, the court directed the legal team to provide a soft copy of the alleged infringing links. It also permitted the filing of additional documents in a sealed cover within two days. The case has now been scheduled for further hearing on July 6.

This development follows a recent order by the same court granting protection to the personality rights of Ramdev, founder of Patanjali Ayurved, through a John Doe directive. Over time, coordinate benches of the High Court have passed similar rulings in favour of several public figures across fields.

Among those who have received such legal protection are singer Jubin Nautiyal, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar, and actors Kajol, R. Madhavan and N. T. Rama Rao Jr. Actor Salman Khan has also approached the court with a similar plea.

The High Court has, in separate cases, extended protection to spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar of The Art of Living Foundation, Telugu actor Nagarjuna, as well as Bollywood actors Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and filmmaker Karan Johar.

In another recent instance, journalist Sudhir Chaudhary was granted relief after raising concerns over misleading AI-generated videos circulating online. Similarly, a John Doe order was issued in favour of podcaster Raj Shamani, with the court recognising his prominence in the digital content space.

Sonakshi Sinha, who made her Bollywood debut with Dabangg opposite Salman Khan, has since featured in several commercial and content-driven films including Rowdy Rathore, Mission Mangal with her recent success being in the web-series Heeramandi in which she essayed a double role. Known for balancing mainstream entertainers with performance-oriented roles, the actor has built a steady presence in the industry, making the protection of her identity and likeness increasingly significant in the evolving digital landscape.

Supreme Court quashes copyright case against Sujoy Ghosh over Kahaani 2, calls allegations baseless

In a significant relief for filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh, the Supreme Court of India has set aside criminal proceedings initiated against him in a copyright infringement case linked to his 2016 film Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh.

According to a report by Bar and Bench, a Bench comprising Justices PS Narasimha and Alok Aradhe observed that the complaint lacked substance and failed to establish even a basic comparison between the two works in question. The court noted that the allegations were vague and unsupported, with no clear indication of how the film resembled the complainant’s script.

The case stemmed from a complaint filed by Umesh Prasad Mehta, who alleged that his script titled Sabak had been copied for the film. He claimed to have shared his work with Ghosh in 2015. Acting on this complaint, a magistrate court in Hazaribagh had issued summons in 2018 under provisions of the Copyright Act. Later, the Jharkhand High Court declined to quash the case, stating that the matter warranted trial.

Ghosh subsequently moved the apex court, where his counsel, Senior Advocate Siddhartha Dave, argued that the complaint did not provide any material evidence demonstrating similarity between the scripts and that the proceedings were a misuse of legal process.

The Supreme Court agreed with these submissions, pointing out that both the magistrate’s summoning order and the High Court’s decision showed a lack of proper judicial consideration. It also highlighted that witness statements presented by the complainant did not establish that any part of the script had been copied.

A key factor in the ruling was the finding of the Screen Writers Association’s Dispute Settlement Committee, which had earlier concluded that there was no resemblance between the two works. The court noted that this crucial detail had not been disclosed to the magistrate at the time of issuing summons.

Additionally, the Bench underscored that Ghosh’s script for Kahaani 2 had been registered well before the complainant’s script was created, making the allegation of infringement untenable.

Reiterating that courts must guard against frivolous or malicious litigation, the apex court emphasized the need to examine surrounding circumstances in such cases to prevent misuse of criminal law. It ultimately set aside both the summoning order and the High Court’s ruling, bringing an end to the proceedings pending before the trial court.

The case was argued on behalf of Sujoy Ghosh by Senior Advocate Siddhartha Dave, assisted by a team of advocates. As for Ghosh’s 2016 thriller Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh, it is a Vidya Balan-led film that revolves around a woman living under an assumed identity while protecting a child, unfolding into a layered narrative of crime, abuse, and hidden pasts. Also starring Arjun Rampal and Jugal Hansraj in key roles, the film was expected to be a spiritual sequel to the 2012 blockbuster Kahaani.

Dhurandhar The Revenge makers issue statement amid show delays across languages: “We truly apologise for the inconvenience”

The makers of Dhurandhar The Revenge have issued an official statement addressing the disruption in show timings across languages on the film’s release day, March 18, 2026.

The film opened to strong demand nationwide, with most shows witnessing heavy advance bookings and several theatres reporting houseful boards for the evening screenings. However, a section of audiences faced inconvenience as certain shows, particularly in regional languages, were either delayed or cancelled.

Responding to the situation, the production team acknowledged the issue and clarified the revised rollout plan. In their statement, they said, “Most of our Hindi shows across India are running as scheduled from 5 pm onwards. All of our Tamil and Telugu shows will commence from 9 pm onwards. However, due to unforeseen technical difficulties, our Malayalam and Kannada shows will begin from tomorrow morning.”

The makers also addressed concerns of ticket-holders whose shows were impacted. They added that audiences who had booked tickets for the affected dubbed versions would have the option of either a refund or watching the Hindi version with subtitles.

Apologising for the inconvenience, the team said, “Dhurandhar is not just a film for us, it is something we have lived with, nurtured, and dreamed of sharing with each and every one of you, together, at the same moment, in every language.”

The statement concluded with an expression of gratitude towards audiences, acknowledging the overwhelming response and assuring viewers that the team is eager to present the film as intended.

Interestingly, a similar situation had unfolded during the release of the first installment of the franchise, which also saw a few show disruptions despite high demand.

Government asks CBFC to review Nora Fatehi-Sanjay Dutt starrer song ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’: Report

The controversy surrounding the song ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’ from KD: The Devil has escalated, with authorities now stepping in following allegations that the track features vulgar and sexually suggestive content. According to an India Today report, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has directed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to examine the matter and take appropriate action. Reportedly, the board has been asked to ensure the removal of the song from media platforms if the allegations are found to be valid.

The track features Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt, and has drawn criticism from multiple quarters. Critics have raised concerns over its lyrics, visuals and choreography, alleging that it promotes vulgarity and objectifies women, with potential impact on younger audiences.

Officials have also suggested that monitoring mechanisms for obscene or objectionable content in films and music videos could be tightened. If necessary, amendments to existing film certification rules may be considered to prevent the circulation of content deemed indecent or harmful to public morality.

The issue gained further traction after the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) formally wrote to the CBFC and Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, seeking immediate intervention.

In its letter, the association termed the matter a "serious public concern," alleging that the song includes double-meaning content and does not meet the standards of decency expected in Indian cinema. It also pointed to what it described as an "alarming trend" in the industry, where certain songs are created to generate controversy and publicity.

AICWA has called for the song to be banned and removed from digital and broadcast platforms, and has urged authorities to reconsider the film’s certification.

Smriti Irani, British Council partner to support 1 lakh women entrepreneurs in India

A new collaboration aimed at strengthening women entrepreneurship in India was formalised on March 17, 2026, as the British Council signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with SPARK – The 100K Collective in New Delhi. The initiative is backed by Smriti Irani, founder of the Alliance for Global Good – Gender Equity and Equality, who has been advocating for institutional partnerships to advance women’s economic participation.

The programme focuses on supporting nearly one lakh women entrepreneurs across the country, particularly those in the “missing middle” segment. These are individuals who have moved beyond small-scale operations but face challenges in scaling their businesses due to limited access to skills, networks and resources.

Under the partnership, the British Council will provide training in English, communication and digital skills. The aim is to enable women entrepreneurs to improve business pitches, expand professional networks and access larger markets. The collaboration also seeks to build a broader support ecosystem, covering areas such as governance, compliance, visibility and leadership development.

Speaking at the event, Smriti Irani highlighted the importance of cross-sector collaboration in advancing gender equity. “The Alliance for Global Good - Gender Equity and Equality was founded on the belief that advancing gender equity requires strong collaboration across institutions and sectors. Women entrepreneurs across India are already demonstrating extraordinary leadership and resilience. By strengthening access to skills, resources, and supportive networks, initiatives such as this can help women scale their ambitions into sustainable enterprises and participate more fully in shaping India's economic future,” she said.

Scott McDonald, Chief Executive of the British Council, underlined the role of skills and education in driving opportunity. “At the British Council, we see education, skills and connections as powerful drivers of opportunity. Supporting women to build the capabilities they need to grow their businesses and participate fully in the economy is an important part of that vision. Through this collaboration, we're pleased to bring our experience in English and skills development to support women entrepreneurs in strengthening their communication, expanding their networks, and growing their enterprises with confidence,” he said.

Lindy Cameron also emphasised the significance of the initiative, noting its potential to help women entrepreneurs integrate into global supply chains through improved language and communication skills.

Susan Acland-Hood, Permanent Secretary at the UK’s Department for Education, described the programme as an encouraging example of how access to language and communication can expand opportunities, not just in India but globally.

The agreement was signed at the British Council’s New Delhi office in the presence of senior representatives from both sides. The partnership signals a continued effort to build structured, scalable support systems for women-led enterprises, with a focus on long-term growth and economic inclusion.

EXCLUSIVE: CBFC reduces visuals in 4 violent scenes in Dhurandhar The Revenge by 34 seconds; censors abusive words

Dhurandhar The Revenge releases tomorrow from 5:00 pm and the excitement is historic to say the least. The censor process finally got over today, March 17, and Bollywood Hungama in this article will exclusively focus on the cut list.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) passed Dhurandhar The Revenge with an 'A' certificate. However, the Examining Committee (EC) asked for 21 cuts and modifications.

To begin with, abusive words were asked to be muted and some abuses were asked to be replaced. No details have been provided in the cut list about these cuss words. At another point, a non-abusive word was replaced. In two places, a word was muted while a name was replaced, possibly with a fictional name.

Coming to the visual cuts, the visuals of hitting the head with a hammer was reduced by 2 seconds. A violent scene of hitting the head with cement blocks was shortened by 4 seconds. 4 second visuals of smashing the eye was also asked to be reduced. The visuals of beheading and kicking were reduced by 24 seconds.

In two places, the EC asked for correction, one regarding a historical event (only in the subtitles) and the other with regards to the name of a city.

Delhi High Court closes Celina Jaitly’s petition over brother’s detention in United Arab Emirates

The Delhi High Court has closed a petition filed by former actor Celina Jaitly seeking consular access to meet her brother, Vikrant Jaitly, who is currently being held in the United Arab Emirates. The court took the decision after being informed that Vikrant had chosen not to communicate with his sister and preferred that any legal decisions regarding his case be taken only after consulting his wife.

The matter was heard on March 16 by Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav, who observed that there was no reason to keep the petition pending in light of the developments.

During the hearing, authorities informed the court that Vikrant had already been granted consular access but had declined legal assistance. As part of the petition, Celina had requested that authorities help arrange legal expenses for her brother. Addressing this request, the court recorded that the matter had been communicated to him.

“Petitioner prayed that respondent assists in securing legal expenses for Mr Jaitly. As per the court direction, the aforesaid aspect was brought to the notice of Mr Jaitly, who in his interaction with the officials has unequivocally stated that he is not willing to be represented by any of the law firm,” the court noted.

The court was further informed that a law firm had offered to represent him on a pro bono basis. However, Vikrant did not agree to the proposal. “The court directed the officers to bring to the notice of Jaitly that Khalid Almari law firm is willing to provide pro bono legal assistance to him. Even the said request has not been acceded to by Jaitly,” the order stated.

In addition to seeking legal assistance for her brother, Celina had also asked authorities to facilitate direct communication with him. According to the information placed before the court, Vikrant declined that request as well.

During the proceedings, Vikrant’s wife also urged the court to ensure that further details related to the case are not made public. The court noted that state authorities are continuing their efforts in consultation with him.

While disposing of the matter, the court directed authorities to remain in contact with Vikrant and extend any assistance that may be available under the law. “In view of the facts and developments, there is no reason to keep this petition pending,” the court stated while concluding the case.

Vikrant Jaitly has reportedly been detained in the United Arab Emirates since September 6, 2024.

Amazon Prime Video cancels Rs. 110 crores streaming deal for Vijay's Jana Nayagan

The OTT deal for Vijay’s long-delayed Jana Nayagan has been cancelled by Amazon Prime Video. The movie, which was initially slated for release during Pongal 2026, was postponed indefinitely due to an ongoing censor dispute.

Jana Nayagan and its dubbed Hindi version Jan Neta were postponed after being impeded by the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification). This, after the film had received an all-clear from the CBFC on December 29, and the producers were informed that Jana Nayagan would be granted the ‘UA 16+ censor certificate. However, on January 5, 2026, the Jana Nayagan producers were informed that the film was being referred to a Revising Committee. The CBFC cited an alleged complaint related to religious sentiments and the questionable portrayal of armed forces as the reasons for re-censoring.

With no sign of censor clearance, the producers of Jana Nayagan took a collective decision to postpone the film indefinitely.

The streaming platform Amazon Prime Video had purchased the post-theatrical streaming rights for a mind-blowing Rs. 110 crores. However, the platform has now backed out of the deal as there is no sign of the film’s theatrical release.

Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif expected to reunite in Raajneeti 2, sequel to also be based on Mahabharat

Filmmaker Prakash Jha is bringing back Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif in a sequel to his 2010 hit Raajneeti.

“And like the first Raajneeti, the second part will also be based on the Mahabharat,” said Prakash Jha whose new series Sankalp on the arrogance and corruption in the educational system of Bihar is resonating on the OTT platform.

Jha said, “The script for Raajneeti 2 is finally ready. And the time is ripe for the sequel to Raajneeti. There is so much more story to tell than what we have seen so far.”

Raajneeti 2 is expected to have the same stellar cast: Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif (who has been on a long maternity leave and this would be her comeback), Ajay Devgn, Nana Patekar, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpayee and Naseeruddin Shah.

Raajneeti had created history on many counts. Katrina, earlier known for her glamour alone, had played a character resembling Sonia Gandhi and she was fully committed to getting it right.

Prakash Jha just can't stop preening over the fact that his Raajneeti featured the maximum number of National Award winners in its cast. “It was Ranbir I was most hopeful about. I hoped, in fact, I was pretty certain he would win the National Award for his performance.” Ranbir played an US-educated scion of a political dynasty who had to reluctantly return home to shoulder his family's duties.

Said Jha, “This film took Ranbir to another level. In fact, everyone was outstanding in the film. And why not? I had a line-up of National Award winners in the cast, from Naseeruddin Shah and Nana Patekar to Manoj Bajpai and Ajay Devgan.”

From Bollywood to Harvard: Sanjana Sanghi to headline Arts & Advocacy panel at the Women in Power Conference

Indian Film actor and global youth advocate Sanjana Sanghi has been invited to Harvard University on April 18, 2026, to participate in the prestigious Women in Power Conference (WIPC) at the Harvard Kennedy School. In a historic line-up for the 2026 edition, titled ‘Power Beyond the Podium: Turning Vision into Change.’

Sanjana Sanghi will headline a specialized Arts and Advocacy panel and lead an individual ‘Lunch and Learn’ session, exploring how cultural expression and storytelling can shape advocacy and policy. The actress joins a powerful lineage that includes Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Smriti Irani, and Karisma Kapoor.

Reflecting on her excitement ahead of reaching Harvard Kennedy School campus, Sanjana stated: “As a young girl growing up in India, being told ‘you can’t’ was a more frequently murmured phrase than anything else. Turning that ‘you can’t’ into an ‘I will’ is a strength and conviction I only got courtesy of the powerful women in my life who granted me that permission. I see so many such women on WIPC’s speaker line-up; therefore, to be entrusted by Harvard with the honor of being in such incredible company at WIPC makes me jump with joy! As a highly studious girl through school and college, Harvard University, in my mind, has always been the pinnacle of greatness, one I’ve always revered.”

While Sanjana formed a permanent place in the audience’s heart with her memorable debut in Dil Bechara, Sanghi’s academic and social-impact credentials are equally formidable. As a UNDP India Youth Champion and an Education Advocate with Save the Children India, the WIPC leadership highlighted that her journey bridging film, youth leadership, and global development reflects the exact kind of ‘Power Beyond the Podium’ the conference seeks to celebrate.

Most notably, Sanghi recently made history as the first and only Indian celebrity to partner with the Rockefeller Foundation. Alongside Foundation President Dr. Rajiv Shah, she has championed over 100,000+ female-led enterprises in rural India. Her work focuses on how clean energy can act as a direct engine for women's financial independence - a testament to her ability to turn ‘Vision into Change’.

At Harvard, Sanghi, who has been declared as a leading voice for youth-led development by the World Bank, is expected to propose that culture and creativity are the true foundations for education equity, youth empowerment, and digital inclusion. By sharing the stage with global icons, Sanghi continues to solidify her role as the ‘Modern Academic-Actor’, proving that intellectual rigor and global stardom are powerful catalysts for change.

Neetu Kapoor denies news about Kapoor family copyrighting Rishi Kapoor's name

A recent news report claims that the Kapoor family obtained the necessary permission to copyright the actor’s name posthumously. The decision, according to the report, ensures that any individual or organisation seeking to use Rishi Kapoor’s name in commercial, professional, or public contexts must first obtain approval from the family.

However, when this writer contacted the late actor Rishi Kapoor’s wife Neetu Kapoor, she admitted she had no knowledge of any such move by the family. Mrs Kapoor replied, “Hi Subhash, I am not aware of this.” When I asked if this was false news, she replied. “I think so. I am not sure.”

Close family friend and singer Nitin Mukesh said, “I don’t think this can be true. I mean Chintu, who was like my brother, didn’t have a stylized personality, unlike Raj uncle (Rishi Kapoor’s father Raj Kapoor) who was known for his mannerisms that were universally copied. Chintu was….how do I put it…inimitable.”

Of late, there have been some actors known for their patented acting style like Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Shatrughan Sinha, who have gone to court to have their personalities copyrighted. But Rishi Kapoor seems a case of barking up the wrong tree.

Haryana Women’s Commission seeks Badshah’s arrest

The Haryana State Commission for Women has directed the Haryana police to seize Badshah’s passport, so he cannot leave the country and that he be arrested immediately.

These harsh steps have been evoked after Badshah’s song ‘Tateeree’ provoked strong reactions. On March 6, Badshah skipped the hearing at the Women’s Commission.

Calling for his immediate arrest, the Commission has accused Badshah of denigrating the women and girls of Haryana. It would be hard for rappers-singers like Badshah and Yo Yo Honey Singh to get away with problematic lyrics in the future.

Here's how Rashmika Mandanna's silk saree revived Mysore silk looms

When Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda tied the knot, their celebration quickly became one of the most talked-about weddings in recent times. The couple’s wedding music video went viral across social media, becoming the most-liked video globally, even surpassing engagement numbers of posts featuring football icons Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. But beyond the internet-breaking moment, it was Rashmika’s elegant reception look that sparked an unexpected cultural wave that many are now calling - "The Rashmika Effect."

At a time when most celebrity wedding wardrobes lean heavily toward couture gowns or elaborate designer ensembles, Rashmika made a conscious decision to honour her roots. Styled by celebrity stylist Ami Patel, the actor chose a rich red Mysore Crepe Silk saree with a striking black border, creating a look that blended traditional elegance with understated grandeur.

Since images from the reception began circulating online, demand for Mysore Silk sarees has skyrocketed. Reports suggest that the surge has been so intense that state-run silk bodies had to temporarily pause online sales to keep up with the overwhelming response. In many places, buyers have reportedly been queuing up as early as 4 AM just to secure the coveted weave.

The renewed interest in Mysore Silk has brought fresh momentum to the weaving community, with 16 looms running at full capacity to meet the sudden demand. For many master weavers, this surge has translated into renewed stability and pride in their craft. Rashmika’s reception look has therefore gone far beyond bridal fashion. By choosing a handloom deeply rooted in regional heritage, the actor has helped bring Mysore Silk back into the spotlight, reminding people of the beauty and legacy of India’s traditional textiles.

Anil Kapoor reveals he turned down cameo in Dhurandhar: The Revenge: “It’s my loss, but…”

Veteran actor Anil Kapoor recently revealed that he was approached for a cameo in Dhurandhar: The Revenge but had to decline the offer due to prior professional commitments.

The film is the sequel to Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, which released on December 5, 2025 and went on to emerge as a major box office success. The scale of the first installment and its ensemble cast have contributed significantly to the anticipation surrounding the sequel.

Speaking at the India Today Conclave, Kapoor shared that Dhar had approached him for a small role in the upcoming film. However, the actor said he had already committed his dates to another filmmaker.

“Yes, Aditya came to me for Dhurandhar 2. He wanted me to do a small cameo in the film. But the reason I am what I am today is because of my professionalism and my commitment. That’s very important—only talent cannot make you what you are,” Kapoor said.

Explaining why he declined the role, the 69-year-old actor added, “At that time, I had already committed those dates to another filmmaker. I told Aditya, ‘I would have loved to do this cameo, but I’m already committed.’ He is releasing the film now, and it’s a fantastic film. It’s my loss, but it’s okay. So yes, he did offer me the role, and hopefully we will work together in the future.”

Following his revelation, social media users began speculating whether Kapoor had been approached to play the mysterious character ‘Bade Sahab’, whose identity is expected to be revealed in the sequel. There have also been rumours about Emraan Hashmi being linked to the role, though the makers have not confirmed any details.

INSANE response for Dhurandhar 2: Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore start facing capacity issues; demand for more shows skyrocket

Dhurandhar 2 is turning out to be an unstoppable tsunami at the box office as the tickets are selling at unheard levels. With 5 days to go for the paid previews, the movie is already facing capacity issues at multiple centres, as most of the tickets have already been sold. On-ground analysts confirm that cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore have pent-up demands for tickets, and the showcasing is not able to match the demand from the audience.

While Mumbai has already sold 50 per cent of the tickets, Hyderabad and Bangalore stand taller with 75 per cent pre-sales and 60 percent pre-sales respectively. The audiences are putting pressure on exhibitors to open advances for the rest of the weekend, as they are eager to block their seats in advance. The mayhem of Dhurandhar has not been witnessed by a feature film in years, and one has to go back to Baahubali 2 to explain this phenomenon. This is the hottest feature film of Indian Cinema since the release of Baahubali 2 in 2017.

The advance for the rest of the weekend is expected to open tomorrow morning, as the Paid Previews are suffering from limited supplies. Talking of numbers, Dhurandhar 2 has sold tickets worth Rs. 27 crore already for the paid previews, and this alone could go towards the Rs. 35 crore mark by the day of release. The paid previews of Dhurandhar 2 are expected to be around the Rs 40 crore, which is highest of all time by a historic margin of Rs. 30 crore, as the previous best was held by Stree 2 around the Rs. 10 crore mark.

In term of national multiplex chains, Dhurandhar 2 has sold 2.60 lakh tickets across the top 3 multiplexes for the paid previews and is looking to clock historic results of 3.50 lakh tickets, which could be a record to stand tall for years to come by. All eyes now on the pre-sales it records for the full fledged opening day and weekend starting from tomorrow.

CBFC makes subtitles mandatory for all Indian films from March 15

In a move aimed at making the movie-going experience more inclusive, the Central Board of Film Certification has made subtitles mandatory for films across languages. The CBFC’s directive will come into effect from March 15, 2026. Henceforth, all Indian films will be required to include subtitles, along with audio descriptions wherever applicable.

The move is intended to improve accessibility for audiences who are hearing or visually impaired, allowing them to experience films more fully regardless of language or physical limitations.

However, not all netizens are happy with the CBFC’s decision to make subtitles mandatory. Many have taken to social media to express their dissatisfaction, arguing that subtitles can be distracting and interfere with the immersive movie-viewing experience.

Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 release date announced; sequel arrives in cinemas on August 28, 2026

The makers of Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 have officially announced the film’s theatrical release date. The sequel to the cult comedy Khosla Ka Ghosla will arrive in cinemas on August 28, 2026. The announcement was made with the unveiling of the film’s poster, confirming the next chapter of the beloved franchise nearly two decades after the original became a favourite among audiences.

The sequel is directed by Prashant Bhagia and produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar under T-Series in association with Tandav Films. The project is also produced by Savita Raj Hiremath and Raj Hiremath.

While plot details have been kept under wraps, the sequel will see the original cast members reprising their roles, bringing back the characters that made the first film a cult favourite. Actor Ravi Kishan has also joined the film in an important role.

The project was first announced earlier this year in January. Veteran actor Anupam Kher marked a major milestone in his career on January 3, 2026, when he began work on the film, which also happens to be his 550th project. Sharing the moment with his followers on social media, Kher reflected on his long journey in Indian cinema.

In a note posted online, the actor recalled an interaction with an international filmmaker at the Cannes Film Festival, who had once referred to him as the “Marathon Man of Indian Cinema” after learning about the sheer number of films he had worked in. As he began filming the sequel in Delhi, Kher wrote, “So today as I start my 550th film #KhoslaKaGhosla2 my heart is filled with GRATITUDE and THANKFULNESS!”

The original Khosla Ka Ghosla earned widespread appreciation for its satirical take on middle-class aspirations, family dynamics, and the chaotic realities of property disputes in urban India. Over the years, the film has developed a strong cult following, with audiences continuing to celebrate its humour and relatable storytelling.

Tiger Shroff-owned Prowl secures Rs 4 crores funding to expand men’s grooming portfolio

Actor Tiger Shroff’s active-lifestyle brand Prowl has raised Rs 4 crores in a Pre-Series A funding round led by Resolute Ventures. The investment comes months after the brand’s relaunch in June 2025 and follows its expansion into the men’s grooming segment.

Since pivoting to grooming products six months ago, Prowl has expanded its presence across major e-commerce platforms including Amazon, Myntra and Flipkart, as well as quick-commerce platforms. The brand currently offers products such as face wash, sunscreen, lip balm, body lotion, body wash and roll-ons, and has reported strong repeat purchase rates among its target audience.

According to the company, the newly raised capital will be used to expand Prowl’s product portfolio and strengthen distribution. The brand plans to introduce new science-backed formulations, starting with three serums expected to launch soon, while also building a wider range of everyday grooming products for men.

The funds will also support the brand’s efforts to deepen its reach in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities and improve delivery timelines through same-day and next-day fulfilment options.

Speaking about the development, Shroff said, “Prowl is more than just a brand; it’s a reflection of my personal philosophy of discipline and simplicity. I’ve been deeply involved in the formulation and strategy because I wanted products that actually work for the Indian skin type without a 10-step routine. This investment from Resolute Ventures validates our vision of making effective grooming accessible to every man, from the metros to the heartlands of India.”

Shriyhas Jichkar, CEO of Prowl, said the first few months helped the company test its product-market fit. “The first six months were a litmus test for our product-market fit. The data shows that the Indian man wants a routine that is easy to understand and execute. With this capital infusion, we are ready to accelerate our innovation pipeline,” he said.

The brand’s growth strategy is also supported by Lap Ventures, which manages Prowl’s marketing, communications and distribution partnerships as it continues to scale in the Indian grooming market.

Tisca Chopra shares heartfelt note after mother Pammi Arora passes away on March 7: “We will carry her spirit forward”

Actor Tisca Chopra is mourning the loss of her mother, Pammi Arora, who passed away on March 7. The actor shared the news on Instagram on Wednesday (March 11), posting a series of photographs featuring herself with her late mother and father along with an emotional note remembering her life and values.

Reflecting on her mother’s personality, Chopra described her as someone who brought warmth and light to everyone around her. She wrote, “On the 7th of March, we said goodbye to my mother, Pammi Arora. Those who knew her loved her, instantly, completely. And the reason was very simple, she was so very light of being. Seriousness never stood much of a chance in her company. If a problem appeared, she had a two-word philosophy ready, ‘Mitti pao’. Move on. Life was too lively to sit around nursing grievances.”

Chopra also spoke about the lessons she learned from her mother, especially about optimism and resilience. “From her I learnt one of the most useful life lessons anyone ever gave me, ‘You already have a ‘no’ in your pocket. Now go out and get a ‘yes’’. It was classic Pammi Arora, practical optimism with a twinkle in the eye. She also gave me something else that shaped my entire life: the artistic gene. The instinct to perform, to tell stories, to lean toward colour and expression rather than grey routine,” she wrote.

The actor further remembered her mother as a beloved teacher who left a lasting impression on generations of students. “To the outside world she was ‘Arora Ma’am’. To generations of children she was the teacher who was somehow almost as childlike as them. She made school feel lighter, softer and more like home,” she shared.

Chopra also highlighted her mother’s strength during difficult times. “Cancer and a broken hip came, and she refused to bow. Even in the ICU, her Punjabi shoulders bobbed up and down to the beats of a song,” she wrote.

Concluding the tribute, Chopra remembered her mother as a resilient and inspiring woman. Soon after she shared the post, several celebrities and fans offered their condolences in the comments section.

Hansika Motwani and Sohael Khaturiya granted divorce; no alimony sought, says lawyer

Actor Hansika Motwani and businessman Sohael Khaturiya have been granted a divorce by a family court in Mumbai’s Bandra suburb. The development was confirmed by the actor’s lawyer, Adnan Shaikh, according to a report by NDTV. The couple’s separation comes months after speculation about trouble in their marriage began circulating online. In August last year, social media was abuzz with rumours that the two had been living separately for some time.

Confirming the development, Shaikh said in a statement, “Our client, Hansika Motwani, has been granted a decree of divorce by the Hon’ble Family Court Bandra. The divorce was granted by mutual consent after both parties acknowledged that the marriage had irretrievably broken down.”

He further added, “Our client had initially approached her now former husband seeking an amicable separation, which ultimately culminated in the present decree. The respondent filed his affidavit before the court today confirming his consent to the dissolution of the marriage.”

Shaikh also clarified that the actor did not seek any financial settlement from her former husband. “It is pertinent to clarify that our client has made no claims whatsoever for alimony or maintenance, as her sole intention was to bring a dignified and peaceful closure to the marriage. The reasons for the breakdown of the relationship were placed before the Hon’ble Court in the petition. Our client now wishes to move forward with her life and professional commitments,” he said.

Hansika Motwani married Mumbai-based businessman Sohael Khaturiya on December 4, 2022, in a lavish ceremony held at Mundota Fort and Palace. The wedding had attracted significant attention online.

Before their wedding, Khaturiya had proposed to the actor in front of the Eiffel Tower in November 2022. At the time, Hansika had shared pictures of the proposal on Instagram with the caption “Now and Forever.”

Speculation around their separation intensified last year after the actor deleted several wedding photos from her social media handle. Hansika has not yet publicly commented on the divorce.

Hurun Global Rich List 2026: Ramayana producer Namit Malhotra joins India’s Billionaire Club as nation reaches 308 billionaires

India’s billionaire ranks continue to expand, with the latest Hurun Global Rich List 2026 adding 57 new names and pushing the country’s total tally to 308 billionaires. Among the notable entrants this year is filmmaker and visual effects entrepreneur Namit Malhotra, whose journey from a modest editing setup in his father’s garage to heading one of the world’s most celebrated VFX studios that will now be producing the much-awaited Ranbir Kapoor, Yash starrer Ramayana, has become a remarkable success story.

Malhotra is the founder and CEO of DNEG, the global visual effects and animation company known for its work on several award-winning international films. Over the years, DNEG has earned multiple Academy Awards for its groundbreaking VFX contributions to Hollywood productions, cementing its reputation as a powerhouse in the global film industry.

Beyond his work in visual effects, Malhotra has also been actively involved in large-scale film production. He is currently backing one of the most ambitious projects in Indian cinema—Ramayana, a two-part cinematic retelling of the ancient epic. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film is designed as a grand mythological spectacle aimed at both Indian and global audiences. The first installment is expected to release during Diwali 2026, with the second part planned for a Diwali 2027 release.

The film features an impressive ensemble cast that brings together actors from across Indian cinema. Ranbir Kapoor will portray Lord Ram, while Sai Pallavi plays Sita. Yash, widely known for the KGF franchise, will appear as Ravana, and Sunny Deol takes on the role of Hanuman. Actor Ravi Dubey has been cast as Lakshman.

What makes the project particularly noteworthy is its scale. With a reported budget of around $100 million (approximately Rs.835 crore) for the first instalment alone, Ramayana is being positioned as one of the most expensive films ever produced in India. The production also relies heavily on cutting-edge technology, including advanced motion-capture techniques and large-scale visual effects.

Malhotra’s DNEG is overseeing the film’s VFX work, ensuring world-class visual storytelling. He has previously emphasised that the project has been developed with a “reverence-first” approach, with years of pre-production dedicated to honouring the epic’s cultural significance while presenting it with global cinematic standards.

With his entry into the Hurun billionaire list and the mounting anticipation around Ramayana, Namit Malhotra’s influence across both technology and filmmaking continues to grow on the world stage.

SCOOP: Bhagam Bhag 2 shoot delayed to August 2026; Akshay Kumar set to start Golmaal 5

Akshay Kumar means man in business. After wrapping up a major schedule of director Anees Bazmee's family comedy, Akshay took a break from the shoot and is now all charged up to embark on another new journey. According to reliable sources, Akshay Kumar is all set to start shooting for Golmaal 5 from the end of March. "He has allotted 18 days for the film, and it's a start-to-finish schedule starting from the end of March," a source told Bollywood Hungama on condition of confidentiality.

Earlier in the month, we exclusively reported that Bhagam Bhag had been stalled at the moment owing to a legal battle between Ekta Kapoor and director Raaj Shandilyaa. While a PR website clarified that the film is on schedule to go on floors, we have exclusive insight into the same.

Reliable sources confirm that the shooting for Bhagam Bhag 2 has been delayed to August 2026. "Bhagam Bhag 2 was set to begin in March in India, but the shoot schedule got stalled due to the legal battle between Ekta Kapoor and Raaj Shaandilyaa. The actor's dates went haywire, and the next window for everyone to reunite is in August. The team is working to reschedule the shoot in the second half of the year, and hopes that all legal issues are sorted by then," a source shared with Bollywood Hungama.

The source also informed that the team might shoot for a week or so in the middle if the dates align with Akshay Kumar, but all the combination sequences, which were planned from March to April, are pushed to August now. "Akshay has all his dates blocked for now, but if a window opens, he might give some days to team Bhagam Bhag 2."

He will finish Anees Bazmee's next, Golmaal 5 and another comedy before Bhagam Bhag 2 now.

Is Lakshya Lalwani stepping away from Dostana 2? Here’s what we know!

Actor Lakshya Lalwani, who gained attention for his performance in The Ba***ds of Bollywood directed by Aryan Khan and released on Netflix in 2025, may reportedly be stepping away from Dostana 2 following fresh delays in the project.

Lakshya’s journey in the industry has seen several ups and downs. Two of his early high-profile films — Bedhadak, co-starring Shanaya Kapoor and Gurfateh Pirzada, and Dostana 2 — had earlier faced setbacks. The latter, backed by Dharma Productions and directed by Collin D'Cunha, was initially announced with Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles.

In 2021, Dharma Productions confirmed that the film would be recast due to “professional circumstances,” after which Kartik exited the project. Despite the changes, Lakshya was expected to remain part of the sequel.

However, according to a recent report by Filmfare, the project has once again been delayed, which could lead to Lakshya’s exit from the film. The report claims that actor Vikrant Massey will continue to be associated with the project even if the cast undergoes changes. A source quoted in the report said, “Dostana 2 is happening for sure but the cast isn't locked as of now.” As of now, there has been no official confirmation regarding Lakshya’s departure.

Earlier, Vikrant Massey had confirmed his involvement in the film during an interaction with Times Now. Speaking about the project, he said, “I'm doing Dostana 2. I'm doing my first Dharma movie. You will see me wearing good designer clothes. Karan sir will make sure that I wear good clothes and those fancy sunglasses. Shooting somewhere in Europe.”

The actor, however, did not reveal the name of the female lead in the upcoming film.

Over the years, Dostana 2 has remained one of the most talked-about projects from Karan Johar’s banner, partly due to the multiple changes surrounding its casting. Earlier reports had also suggested a rift between Johar and Kartik Aaryan, which allegedly contributed to the project being put on hold.

Singer-Composer Leslee Lewis makes Bollywood playback comeback after 26 years

Veteran singer-composer Leslee Lewis is set to make a comeback as a playback singer in Hindi cinema after a gap of 26 years, marking a significant moment in his long musical journey. Known for shaping India’s Indi-pop movement in the 1990s, Lewis is returning with the song Zorr Ka Dhakka, which will mark his re-entry into Bollywood playback singing.

Lewis rose to national fame as part of the iconic duo Colonial Cousins alongside Hariharan. Their fusion of Indian classical and Western pop in the mid-1990s helped redefine the independent music scene in India and earned them international recognition, including the MTV Asia Viewer’s Choice Award and the Billboard Viewer’s Choice Award.

Speaking about his return, Lewis shared his excitement about reconnecting with Bollywood after decades. “I was relevant then and I’m still relevant now,” he said while discussing his comeback and his continued passion for music. Alia Bhatt, Sharvari starrer Alpha locks July 10, 2026 for its theatrical release

The upcoming YRF Spy Universe film Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, has officially locked its theatrical release date. The much-anticipated spy thriller is scheduled to hit cinemas on July 10, 2026, marking a significant addition to the blockbuster franchise created by Yash Raj Films.

Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha is expected to be the first female-led installment in the YRF Spy Universe, which previously delivered major box-office successes with films such as Pathaan and War 2. The film places two women at the centre of a high-octane espionage narrative, expanding the scope of the franchise that has so far largely revolved around male protagonists.

While the makers have kept specific plot details under wraps, the film is described as a gritty, globe-trotting espionage thriller. The narrative reportedly follows Alia Bhatt and Sharvari as elite secret agents undertaking a high-stakes mission. Unlike some of the more stylised entries in the spy franchise, Alpha is said to adopt a rugged and raw aesthetic, focusing on a more grounded and intense depiction of field intelligence operations.

A post shared by Yash Raj Films (@yrf)

The film also brings together a strong ensemble cast. With Alia, Sharvari leading the narrative, Bobby Deol is set to play the primary antagonist. The actor’s role was previously teased through a brief appearance in the post-credits sequence of War 2. Veteran actor Anil Kapoor will also be seen in the film, portraying Vikrant Kaul, a senior intelligence official within the story’s spy network. Additionally, Hrithik Roshan is expected to make a special appearance, reprising his role as Major Kabir Dhaliwal, further connecting the film with the broader timeline of the YRF Spy Universe.

Behind the scenes, the screenplay has been written by Shridhar Raghavan, who has been associated with several action-driven projects. The film is being mounted on a large scale, with extensive action set pieces and visual effects work forming a key part of its cinematic experience.

Alpha has seen multiple shifts in its release schedule. The film was initially slated for a Christmas 2025 release before being moved to April 17, 2026. The project has now settled on the July 10, 2026 date, allowing the makers additional time to complete its extensive visual effects work.

Addressing speculation surrounding the delay, a YRF spokesperson said the team wanted to ensure the film was presented at its best possible scale, adding that Alpha is being mounted as a major theatrical spectacle and that the studio aims to present it in its most cinematic form.
