SCOOP: Love & War REAL budget revealed; Sanjay Leela Bhansali's epic costs Rs 350 cr, not Rs 425 cr.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is among the most celebrated directors of Indian Film industry, whose cinema has stood the test of time. His next, Love And War is a casting coup of the decade as the maverick filmmaker has brought Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal together for the first time. Earlier in the week, there were viral reports on how Love and War budget has shot up to Rs. 425 crores, and the production has gone into turmoil.

However, our reliable sources close to the project confirm that Love And War is proceeding as planned. "Love And War budgets have shot up for sure, but it happens with all Sanjay Leela Bhansali films. Initially, it was planned as a Rs. 250 crore epic, and the costs through the shoot have now shot up to Rs. 350 crores. SLB doesn't compromise on his vision, and he is passionately filming this, which he believes could be his best work to date. The Rs. 425 crore figure of cost of production is trying to harm the project on purpose, and there is no truth to the claims," a source shared with Bollywood Hungama.

The source told us further, "Unlike many high on VFX films, Love And War is largely shot on sets, with recreation of the era gone by. This doesn't cost much. Anyone who understands filmmaking would say that the Rs. 425 crore budget is a bluff. But truth finds its way, and it's for the people to know that Love And War is a Rs. 350 crore film, and the makers plan to splurge another Rs. 30 crore on marketing, taking total landing cost to Rs. 380 crore."

As for the release, Love And War will now be released in 2027, between the two Ramayana films. The shoot will be wrapped up by June.

SCOOP: Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan's Haiwaan sells non-theatrical rights for a MASSIVE Rs. 80 crores; makers recover 70%+ already

The Akshay Kumar- and Saif Ali Khan-led Haiwaan, directed by Priyadarshan, is among the anticipated releases of 2026. Just a couple of weeks ago, we exclusively reported that Sony Network had secured the satellite, digital, and music rights for the film, showcasing their excitement about the content. And now we have got another exclusive and exciting update on Haiwaan.

Reliable sources have confirmed that the non-theatrical rights of Haiwaan have been sold for a hefty sum of Rs. 80 crores. A source informed Bollywood Hungama, "Haiwaan is hot in the market, as multiple players were bidding to have it on their platform. But the highest bid came from Sony Network, which gave the offer to buy satellite, digital and music rights for a sum of Rs. 80 crores. With this, the team of Haiwaan have already recovered more than 70 percent of their investment."

The source also tells us that Haiwaan could be released in the month of August, and the official announcement is around the corner. "Haiwaan's release date will be strategic as the makers want a clean run. It's a high-concept thriller, and the team is clear not to release it in a crowded window. The tentative timeline indicates an August release."

Directed by Priyadarshan, Haiwaan is produced by KVN Productions and also has a cameo by Mohanlal. The Rs. 80 crore deal just consolidates the goodwill of Khiladi Kumar in the market.

REVEALED: Kerala High Court cites Padmaavat, Aarakshan verdicts to clear The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond’s release

On February 27, the Division Bench of the Kerala High Court, comprising Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari and Justice P V Balakrishnan, stayed a Single Judge’s interim order that had halted the release of the film The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond for 15 days.

The Single Judge had relied on excerpts from the film’s teaser to conclude that the content had the prima facie potential to disturb communal harmony and that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) may not have adequately applied its mind under Section 5B of the Cinematograph Act, 1952. However, the appellate Bench emphasized a critical constitutional principle: once the CBFC, a statutory expert body, has granted certification after viewing the film in its entirety, courts must ordinarily presume due application of mind.

In arriving at this conclusion, the Bench drew heavily from two landmark Supreme Court precedents. First, in Prakash Jha Productions v. Union of India, decided in 2011 in the context of the film Aarakshan, the Supreme Court held that once a film has been certified by the CBFC, States cannot suspend or prohibit its exhibition merely on apprehensions of law and order problems. The Court made it clear that maintaining public order is the responsibility of the State, not a ground to curtail certified expression.

Second, the Bench relied on Viacom18 Media Pvt. Ltd. v. Union of India, the 2018 judgment concerning the film Padmaavat. In that case, the Supreme Court reaffirmed that creative content is protected under Article 19(1)(a) of the Constitution. Once certification is granted, there exists a presumption that statutory guidelines, including those relating to public order and communal harmony, have been duly considered. States cannot pre-emptively block exhibition on speculative grounds.

The Kerala High Court noted that the petitioners had not viewed the film in full and were relying solely on teaser clippings. It further observed that the producer had incorporated modifications directed by the CBFC, reinforcing the inference of due scrutiny. Therefore, merely on the basis of selective excerpts, the finding of non-application of mind could not be sustained.

In Viacom18 Media Private Limited and others v. Union of India and others [(2018) 1 SCC 761], the Supreme Court of India stayed state-imposed bans (Gujarat, Rajasthan, etc.) on the film Padmaavat upholding freedom of expression. The court ruled that states cannot prohibit a film already certified by the CBFC, as maintaining law and order is a state responsibility, not a ground to curtail film exhibition.

Meanwhile, M/S Prakash Jha Productions & Anr vs Union Of India & Ors (2011) 8 SCC 372 is a landmark Supreme Court case affirming that state governments cannot ban films already certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The court held that once cleared, a film’s screening cannot be halted due to hypothetical public unrest, reinforcing freedom of speech.

The Kerala Story 2 producer Vipul Shah says Kerala HC Division Bench’s final verdict is the “biggest proof of the truth of film”

Producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah has stated that The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond does not target the state of Kerala or its people. His remarks came after the Kerala High Court Division Bench vacated the interim stay on the film’s release on Friday, February 27, clearing the path for its theatrical run.

Addressing the media shortly after the court’s decision, Shah said that the legal hurdle had been removed and screenings had begun. He described the film as a “true” account made after considerable effort and rejected allegations from certain quarters that it promotes propaganda.

“The Kerala High Court Division Bench has withdrawn the stay that we got yesterday. And they have cleared the way for the release of the film. Now our shows have already started opening. So I request the people that this is a true film made with a lot of hard work. And the biggest proof of the truth of our film is that the Kerala court has vacated the stay order. If our film was a lie, then the Kerala court would have seen it and the stay order would not have been vacated,” he said.

Shah also expressed gratitude to the court on behalf of his team and appealed to audiences in Kerala to approach the film with an open mind. Emphasising that neither he nor his team holds any bias against the state—often referred to as ‘God’s Own Country’—he maintained that the intention behind the project was not to malign Kerala.

With the stay lifted, attention now shifts to the film’s release plans across theatres. The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond features Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia, and Aishwarya Ojha in the lead roles.

An official update on its wider theatrical rollout is awaited.

Sunny Deol starrer GABRU teaser coming soon; actor shares update on social media

Superstar Sunny Deol on Thursday shared a fresh update on his upcoming film GABRU, confirming that the teaser of the action-drama is on its way. Not too long ago, we at Bollywood Hungama had revealed that the film’s release might be delayed further. As of now, however, fans eagerly waiting for the film’s release will get a sneak peek into it soon.

Sunny Deol took to Instagram to post a picture from the film’s set, featuring producer Vishal Rana of Echelon Productions, and director Shashank Udapurkar. With the post, Deol officially signalled that the first glimpse of the film will be unveiled soon by captioning it simply, “#Gabru Teaser coming soon” and even added a hug emoji.

GABRU, backed by Echelon Productions, is described as an action-drama that places Deol in a powerful and emotionally layered role. While the makers have yet to announce the teaser launch date, the actor’s update has heightened curiosity among fans, especially following his recent box office successes.

However, there has been a development regarding the film’s theatrical release. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Gabru was scheduled to release in cinemas on March 13. But now, the makers have decided to push the release. The makers are considering a few options and are expected to lock a date soon. Once done, they’ll make an official announcement.”

While the makers have not cited an official reason for the postponement, trade circles suggest that market dynamics may have influenced the decision. A trade source explained, “The holy month of Ramzan will be underway in mid-March, which could limit footfalls from a section of the audience. Moreover, the much-awaited films Dhurandhar: The Revenge and Toxic are set to clash on March 19. Sunny Deol’s track record has strengthened after the blockbuster success of Gadar 2. Hence, it makes sense to arrive at a time when a larger number of moviegoers will be available to catch the film on the big screen.”

From what Bollywood Hungama has learned, GABRU revolves around the journey of Deol’s character and a child artist, both grappling with personal struggles. Their intertwined lives reportedly form the emotional backbone of the story, which is said to celebrate resilience and human connection.

With the teaser announcement now official and a revised release date expected soon, all eyes are on the makers to reveal their new strategy. Given Deol’s renewed box office momentum, the timing of GABRU’s release could play a crucial role in shaping its theatrical run.

The ceremony reportedly took place in Udaipur at 10:10 am, in keeping with Telugu wedding traditions. Set against a regal backdrop, the celebrations were intimate yet grand, with close friends and family in attendance. As mentioned earlier, the actors hosted a traditional South Indian style ceremony and Vijay also penned a heart-touching romantic note for his new wife. "One day, I missed her. Missed her in a way that made me feel like my day would've been better if she were around. Like my meals would've felt more wholesome if she were sitting across from me. Like my workouts would've been more fun and less of a punishment if she were doing them with me. Like I needed her - just to feel that sense of home and calm, no matter where I was. So, I made my best friend... my wife".

Meanwhile, Rashmika too took to Instagram to add the same photos but she dedicated a separate love note to her husband wherein she added, "Hi my loves, Introducing to you now “My Husband”! Mr. Vijay Deverakonda!! The man who taught me what true love feels like, The man who showed me what being in peace feels like! I’ve become the woman I have always dreamt of being, because you made her who she is today! I’ve truly been blessed! Vijju I am always short of words to describe the feelings I have for you!! I’ve always told you that!! But you know suddenly all of my achievements, struggles, happiness, sadness, joy, life - everything just makes a lot more sense now - it is because I have you - witnessing it all.. being the biggest part of it all! I am so so so so soooo excited to becoming your wife! to be your wife! To be called your wife!! it’s full party time now!! Let’s have the bestestest life ever together! I love you!".

Last Sunday, February 22, the couple formally announced their wedding through a joint note that quickly went viral. Their off-screen love story has often mirrored their on-screen chemistry. The two first shared screen space in Geetha Govindam, a film that became a commercial success and cemented their popularity as a pair. Siddhant Chaturvedi, Alizeh to lead Vikas Bahl’s 1990s-set UK Punjabi music drama: Report

Filmmaker Vikas Bahl is set to explore new ground with a full-fledged musical romance drama. The yet-untitled project will star Siddhant Chaturvedi and Alizeh Agnihotri in the lead roles and is being produced by Reliance Entertainment.

According to a report by Variety India, the upcoming film is said to be inspired by the rise of the UK Punjabi underground movement of the 1990s — a period when music became a marker of identity for the post-immigrant generation. Blending traditional Punjabi folk with Western influences, the movement created a distinct cross-cultural sound that resonated widely across communities in the United Kingdom.

Set against this backdrop, Bahl’s film will centre on a love story shaped by ambition, identity and artistic aspiration. Siddhant will reportedly play a drummer, while Alizeh will essay the role of a singer. The narrative is expected to trace their personal and creative journeys during what is often regarded as a defining era for UK Punjabi music.

Bahl, known for films such as Queen, Super 30 and Shaitaan, has completed the script and is preparing to move into pre-production. Shooting is planned for the second half of 2026.

The project will mark Siddhant’s second collaboration with Bahl after their upcoming romantic comedy Dil Ka Darwaza Khol Na Darling, which is slated for release later this year. The actor was recently seen in Do Deewane Seher Mein and is expected to begin work on a biopic based on legendary filmmaker V. Shantaram before starting this musical.

Alizeh made her acting debut with Farrey, the Hindi adaptation of the Thai film Bad Genius. Bahl’s musical will mark her second feature outing.

Kerala High Court halts release of The Kerala Story 2 rights; questions CBFC’s U/A certification

The Kerala High Court on Tuesday instructed the producers of the controversial film The Kerala Story 2 to refrain from releasing its rights until the court delivers a verdict on petitions contesting its certification.

While hearing the case, the bench observed that the concerns flagged by the petitioners appeared genuine and directed the filmmakers to put their plans on hold. The court insisted in a statement that movie is not released as scheduled tomorrow and that the makers have to wait for the hearing to conclude, giving the court time to decide on the petitions as well.

The bench also raised questions about the certification granted by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), asking them the reason behind giving U/A certificate instead of an ‘A’.  The judges remarked, expressing surprise at the rating. The court further noted that the producers themselves were not pressing for an immediate screening and pointed out that there was limited time to examine the matter comprehensively.

During arguments, counsel representing the CBFC defended the certification, stating that several films have previously used names of Indian states or cities in their titles. Examples cited included Go Goa Gone, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai and Delhi Belly, suggesting that objections to the current title were not unprecedented.

The producers’ legal team argued that the film focuses on the experiences of women survivors and maintained that the petition raises broader legal questions. They also contended that the request to quash the certification was legally unsustainable.

The court clearly maintained that Kerala is a part of India and not a location isolated from the country, adding that the question is not about dignity of Kerala but dignity of India. After hearing preliminary submissions, the High Court recorded the undertaking by the filmmakers that they would await its ruling before proceeding further. The matter was then adjourned and will resume tomorrow, on February 26.

Directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, The Kerala Story 2 recently drew political and public attention following the release of its trailer. The film, featuring Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia and Aishwarya Ojha, is scheduled to release on February 27.

Ram Gopal Varma calls Seedance 2.0 the “asteroid” set to brutally murder film industry’s “arrogance”: “This is actually the liberation of cinema”

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has stirred a fresh debate on the future of cinema, calling AI tool “Seedance 2.0” the “murderer of the film industry” while also describing it as a force of liberation.

In a post shared on February 25, 2026, Varma argued that advanced AI filmmaking tools could dismantle the traditional structure of the movie business. Referring to blockbuster filmmaker S. S. Rajamouli, he wrote that directors like Rajamouli command massive budgets due to their proven creative vision and track record. However, he questioned how many equally talented storytellers across India never get access to funding or industry networks.

According to Varma, tools like Seedance 2.0 have “kicked the gate down and set it on fire,” enabling creators from small towns to generate large-scale, cinematic visuals using descriptive prompts alone. He described it as “true democracy in motion,” suggesting that AI shifts power away from a select few and into the hands of the masses.

Varma went further, predicting a structural collapse of the current filmmaking ecosystem. “A director’s primary job is to take a scene on paper and transfer it onto screen,” he wrote, listing the vast crew involved in the process. Advanced AI, he claimed, could eliminate the need for actors, technicians, production teams and even large budgets.

“No more star issues. No more producers panicking over budgets. No more 300 people standing around waiting for one shot. Just one person. One prompt. One mind,” he stated.

Calling the evolution inevitable, Varma likened the shift to an asteroid striking dinosaurs. “The dinosaurs had their 100 year reign. Now the asteroid has arrived. And its name is A I,” he wrote, adding that the industry “will get murdered brutally — not slowly, not peacefully.”

SEEDANCE 2.0 , the MURDERER of FILM INDUSTRY Leaving aside its copyright infringements etc which is another matter , here’s my take on Seedance 2.0

@ssrajsmouli is the no. 1 director because he makes the most expensive films and the most successful ..People fund him a 1000…

— Ram Gopal Varma (@RGVzoomin) February 25, 2026

He concluded by posing a provocative question: Is this the death of the film industry, or its ultimate democratisation?

Varma’s remarks have already sparked conversations on the social media platform, reigniting the ongoing debate over whether artificial intelligence will disrupt or redefine the future of cinema.

Priyamani boards Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal 5 as shoot begins in Mumbai, reunites with Maidaan co-star Ajay Devgn: Report

Actress Priyamani has reportedly joined the cast of Golmaal 5, the latest instalment of Rohit Shetty’s popular comedy franchise. The development marks her reunion with Ajay Devgn after their collaboration in Maidaan.

According to Variety India, the first shooting schedule is expected to span approximately a month. Filming for the film commenced on Monday, February 23, in Mumbai, with Ajay Devgn slated to join the sets on February 25. While details about Priyamani’s character are being kept under wraps, reports suggest that she has already begun shooting her portions.

The Golmaal franchise remains one of Hindi cinema’s most commercially successful comedy series, known for its ensemble-driven storytelling and recurring characters. The fifth instalment will see the return of its core cast, including Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu and Shreyas Talpade. Veteran performers Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Mukesh Tiwari and Ashwini Kalsekar are also set to reprise their popular roles.

There have also been reports suggesting that Akshay Kumar may join the cast. However, the makers have not officially confirmed this development.

The film’s production gains momentum weeks after an alarming incident at Rohit Shetty’s Juhu residence, where five rounds of bullets were reportedly fired. The Mumbai Crime Branch investigation revealed that the vehicle used in the firing was sourced from Pune. Officials earlier stated that the accused, including Subham Lonkar, allegedly intended to create panic in the city. Investigators also said that Rs 40,000 was transferred to one of the arrested accused, who was in contact with Lonkar through a single messaging application.

The Kerala Story 2 teaser row: Makers deny removal rumours as Kerala High Court questions CBFC certification

The controversy surrounding The Kerala Story 2 – Goes Beyond intensified on February 24 after reports surfaced claiming that the film’s teaser had been removed amid legal scrutiny. However, the makers have categorically denied these claims.

In an official statement, Sunshine Pictures clarified that the circulating news about the teaser being taken down is false adding, “Sunshine Pictures would like to categorically clarify that the news currently circulating regarding the removal of The Kerala Story 2 – Goes Beyond teaser is completely false, baseless, and misleading. The matter is presently sub judice. No judgment or order has been passed by any court directing the removal of any content. We have not deleted or taken down any material. Both the teaser and the trailer of The Kerala Story 2 – Goes Beyond continue to remain available across all our official platforms. We strongly urge media houses, digital platforms, and individuals to refrain from spreading unverified information and speculative reports. Such misinformation only creates unnecessary confusion”.

The clarification comes after the Kerala High Court raised serious questions over the certification granted to the film by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas, while hearing three petitions seeking a stay on the film’s release and cancellation of its certification, observed that the CBFC holds significant responsibility, especially when a film portrays a secular state like Kerala through what petitioners describe as a communal lens.

During the hearing, the Court remarked on Kerala’s secular fabric and communal harmony, questioning whether due consideration had been given to how the state is represented in the film. The judge noted that portraying events as occurring across the state could give a “wrong indication” and potentially incite passion, which is precisely where the censor board’s role becomes crucial.

The Court further observed that since the film is projected as being inspired by true events, the concerns raised by the petitioners appear to have some prima facie justification. Justice Thomas also pointed out that the inclusion of the name ‘Kerala’ in the title heightens public apprehension, particularly if the narrative could lead to communal tension.

Senior Advocate S. Sreekumar, representing the producers, agreed during the hearing to remove the existing teasers until the Court delivers its verdict and offered to arrange a special screening for the judge. The Court is now expected to watch the film before proceeding with further hearings.

The sequel follows the controversial The Kerala Story, which depicted women from Kerala allegedly being recruited into ISIS. Petitioners in the current case have argued that the sequel’s promotional material — including the tagline “ab sahenge nahin… ladenge” — could incite confrontation and disturb public order. Multiple pleas have challenged the CBFC’s certification under Section 5B of the Cinematograph Act, 1952, alleging misrepresentation, regional vilification, and potential communal disharmony.

The matter will now move forward after the scheduled screening, with the Court set to examine the film before taking a call on the pending petitions.

EXCLUSIVE: CBFC asks for 15 cuts and modifications in The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond; reduces kiss and rape visuals by 50%

The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond is all set to release this Friday, February 27, and it has managed to create considerable noise on social media because of its shocking and controversial content. Usually, such films often contain disturbing content and, as a result, are meant for only adult-viewing. Hence, it was a surprise for the trade and industry that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) passed the film with a U/A 16+ certificate.

However, the CBFC asked for 16 cuts or modifications in the film. To begin with, the visuals of kissing were reduced by 50%. In short, the lip-lock scene was shortened by 7 seconds. Similarly, the rape scene visuals were also reduced by 50%, that is, by 20 seconds. Two scenes - one of a woman being slapped and the other of a woman's head being hit - were both reduced by 2 seconds.

The visuals of the house of the accused being demolished with a bulldozer were asked to be modified. Three dialogues, at three different places, were modified while a word was asked to be muted. However, no details of these are available in the cut list.

The makers were instructed to add a disclaimer that the film is based on true events. The duration of the static text, presumably a disclaimer, was asked to be increased by 2 minute and 3 seconds, along with voice over. The makers were asked to submit the script, as per script dialogue and also submit proper documents for a true event depicted in the film. Finally, a consent letter was submitted to the CBFC for casting a minor artist in the film.

Once these changes were made, The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond was handed over the censor certificate on February 16. The length of the film, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 131.24 minutes. In other words, The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond is 2 hours, 11 minutes and 24 seconds long.

The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond is produced by Vipul Shah and directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh. It stars Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia and Aishwarya Ojha in leading roles. It releases in cinemas on February 27.

Anil Kapoor turns fierce in Prime Video’s ‘Subedaar’ trailer; action-drama also stars Radhikka Madan and Mona Singh in key roles

Prime Video has unveiled the trailer of its upcoming Prime Original action-drama Subedaar, headlined by Anil Kapoor. The film features Anil Kapoor as Subedaar Arjun Maurya, a retired army officer navigating life in India’s rugged heartland, where illegal sand mining has created an atmosphere of fear and silence. The narrative follows Arjun’s confrontation with Prince, played by Aditya Rawal, while also delving into his strained relationship with his daughter Shyama, portrayed by Radhikka Madan. The ensemble cast includes Mona Singh, Saurabh Shukla, Faisal Malik and Khushboo Sundar in pivotal roles.

The trailer hints at a tense face-off between Arjun and his adversaries, with the emotional core rooted in a father-daughter dynamic. One of the standout moments features Anil Kapoor delivering the line, “Fauji hai, seene mein goli jhel sakte hai, beizzati nahi.” The film positions itself as a blend of action and personal drama, set against a backdrop of socio-political conflict.

Speaking about the film, Anil Kapoor said, “Playing this character has been one of the most powerful and emotionally demanding experiences of my career. Subedaar Arjun is a man defined by discipline, sacrifice, and deep personal loss, and bringing that to life on screen was both challenging and incredibly fulfilling for me as an actor. It also marks my first collaboration with director Suresh Triveni, Vikram Malhotra and Prime Video. Their commitment to scale, authenticity, and bold storytelling gave us the freedom to tell this story with the intensity it truly deserves. Producing this project was equally important to me because I wanted to give my best, not only as an actor but also as a producer. Being involved creatively behind the scenes allowed me to contribute to the vision of the film in a more holistic way. This journey would not have been possible without the brilliant performances of my co-actors Radhikka, Mona, Saurabh, Aditya, Faisal, and Khushboo, along with the fantastic team behind the lens. I am excited for audiences across India and around the world to experience this raw, fearless and intense story when it premieres exclusively on Prime Video in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu across India and over 240 countries and territories on March 5.”

Radhikka Madan added, “My character, Shyama is a young woman dealing with loss, unspoken fear, and quiet strength, while trying to protect herself and navigate a fractured relationship with her father. What I admire about her is that her courage is not loud — it comes from resilience, self-belief, and emotional honesty. Sharing the screen with a veteran like Anil Kapoor sir made this movie truly memorable. His intensity, discipline, and emotional depth as an actor elevated our scenes, and I learned so much just by observing him. Working with Suresh Triveni sir was a dream come true. I have been trying to work with him for the past four years. He is one of the best directors I have worked with. Under his vision and amazing style of direction, the father-daughter equation has become the strong and emotional backbone of the film. Subedaar is an action drama with real heart, and I cannot wait for the audience to experience Shyama’s journey when the film premieres on Prime Video on March 5.”

Director Suresh Triveni described the film as a tribute to the mainstream cinema he grew up watching and highlighted the father-daughter relationship at its core. He also noted that the film explores the challenges of a retired army man adjusting to civilian life while holding on to his values.

With its blend of action and emotional conflict, Subedaar is positioned as a character-driven drama set against a volatile backdrop, set to stream on Prime Video from March 5.

Directed by Suresh Triveni, Subedaar is produced by Vikram Malhotra, Anil Kapoor and Suresh Triveni under Opening Image Films, in association with Anil Kapoor Film & Communication Network (AKFCN). The screenplay is written by Suresh Triveni and Prajwal Chandrashekar, with dialogues by Suresh Triveni, Saurabh Dwivedi and Prajwal Chandrashekar. The film is set to premiere exclusively on the platform on March 5 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu across India and in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Vijay Deverakonda - Rashmika Mandanna Wedding EXCLUSIVE: Banana leaf feast and coconut water to add traditional touch, reveals source

As excitement builds around the upcoming wedding of Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda, new details about the ceremony’s traditional elements have surfaced. A source close to the couple has revealed that the celebrations will incorporate distinct South Indian customs, offering guests an authentic cultural experience.

“Guests at Rashmika vijay wedding are likely to experience a touch of South Indian tradition, with meals served on banana leaves and coconut water being specially arranged as part of the hospitality,” the source shared.

The detail suggests that despite their pan-India popularity and high-profile status, the couple intends to keep the ceremony rooted in regional traditions. Serving food on banana leaves is a customary practice in many South Indian weddings, symbolising prosperity and auspicious beginnings, while coconut water is often associated with purity and welcome.

The couple confirmed their wedding on February 22 via Instagram, announcing that the ceremony will be known as “The Wedding of VIROSH” — a name coined by fans who combined their names years ago. In a heartfelt note, they dedicated the celebration to their supporters, stating that the identity created by admirers had become an integral part of their journey together.

While the emotional announcement garnered significant attention online, preparations now appear to be in full swing. The duo is expected to tie the knot on February 26 in an intimate ceremony in Udaipur, attended by close family and friends. A grand reception is reportedly planned for March in Hyderabad, following an invitation that recently went viral on social media.

Over the years, Rashmika and Vijay have maintained a strong fan following both individually and as a pair, with speculation about their relationship frequently making headlines. By formally acknowledging “VIROSH” as part of their wedding identity, the actors have turned what would typically be a private milestone into a shared celebration with their audience.

With traditional hospitality details now emerging, anticipation continues to grow around what is being described as one of the most talked-about weddings of the year.

Shah Rukh Khan starrer In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones, Massey Sahib to Screen at Red Lorry retrospective

The Red Lorry Film Festival, India’s premier destination for world cinema, will present a special retrospective honouring acclaimed filmmaker Pradip Krishen, spotlighting his rare and influential body of work.

Titled A Retrospective Celebrating Filmmaker Pradip Krishen, the showcase will revisit three of Krishen’s most distinctive films: In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones, Electric Moon, and Massey Sahib, offering audiences a chance to experience his sharp storytelling.

Pradip Krishen remains one of Indian cinema’s most original filmmakers. His campus cult classic In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones, written by Arundhati Roy captured the spirit of 1970s Delhi student life with wit and quiet rebellion. His debut feature Massey Sahib earned international acclaim and launched the career of Raghuvir Yadav, while Electric Moon stood out for its satirical take on post colonial India. Beyond cinema, Krishen stepped away from filmmaking to become one of India’s leading naturalists.

Ashish Saksena, COO Cinemas, BookMyShow and Festival Director, Red Lorry Film Festival, said, “Pradip Krishen’s films occupy a special place in Indian cinema for their originality, intelligence and cultural depth. Through this retrospective, we are proud to bring his landmark works back to the big screen for new and longtime audiences of the Red Lorry Film Festival.”

“This is a pinch-me-to-see-if-I’m-dreaming moment for me! Truly an honour to have all 3 of my films shown together at the Red Lorry Festival in Mumbai. Wonderful to be able to see them return to the big screen,” says filmmaker Pradip Krishen.

The Red Lorry Film Festival will be held from 13 to 15 March in Mumbai and will feature over 120 films from across the world. Festival passes are now available on BookMyShow.

After Toxic, Yash steps away from KGF, plans directorial debut

After Toxic, Yash has no plans of returning to the KGF franchise. Shocked as his fans may be to hear this, the superstar will not be doing another KGF film at least not for quite a while. In fact, and you heard it here first, Yash intends to direct a film next.

According to a source very close to the actor, “Throughout Toxic, Yash was a very close collaborator with his director, Geetu Mohandas. You could almost say he was a co-director on the film. His input has gone into almost every sequence. But Yash won’t be taking any credit, as he considers Geetu Mohandas the true and rightful helmer of the project, while he sees himself as just another technician on the team.”

That equation may soon change. The next Yash starrer is likely to be directed by the superstar himself. He already has an idea for the project but prefers to speak about it only after Toxic releases.

SCOOP: Sunny Deol-Aamir Khan-Rajkumar Santoshi's Lahore 1947 likely to undergo title change

Sunny Deol began 2026 with a bang with Border 2 and he’s expected to release multiple films this year, all of which look exciting. The most awaited of them is Lahore 1947. It reunites Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi and is produced by Aamir Khan. Aamir will also be seen in the film in a supporting role and it also stars Preity Zinta, Ali Fazal and Shabana Azmi. Due to the stellar team and Sunny’s booming track record, Lahore 1947 is a film that is expected to set the cash registers ringing. However, as per the buzz in the trade, the makers of the film are looking for a change of title.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Lahore 1947 is based on the famous play ‘Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya’. Since the film is set in the Pakistani city and during the Independence period, the title Lahore 1947 was initially deemed suitable. But now the makers feel that there can be a better title that is apt for the story of the film.”

The source continued, “Accordingly, they have come up with a few options. Another round of meeting will happen with the stakeholders and if all are on the same page, the name of the film will undergo a change.”

A few days ago, the makers of Lahore 1947 announced that their labour of love would be released on August 13, that is, in the beneficial Independence Day week.

The play, ‘Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya’, was written by Syed Asghar Wajahat in 1980. The Partition-era story revolves around a Muslim family which migrates from Lucknow to Lahore and is allotted a haveli vacated by a Hindu family. The old Hindu matriarch refuses to leave her ancestral home and she also strikes a rare bond with the Muslim immigrants.

Western Railway earns RECORD Rs. 1.72 cr through film and ad shoots in 2025-26; spokesperson reveals, "Shoojit Sircar FIRST filmmaker to shoot aboard Vande Bharat; John Abraham’s Maria IPS and Ayushmann Khurrana-Sharvari’s Yeh Prem Mol Liya shot on WR premises"

The Vande Bharat Express has emerged as one of Indian Railways’ proudest achievements. Launched in February 2019, it remained unseen on celluloid until last year, when Shoojit Sircar became the first filmmaker to shoot aboard the semi-high-speed train. This and a lot more fascinating information were revealed to Bollywood Hungama by Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer, Western Railway (WR).

The ad in question is for Independence, an FMCG brand of Reliance Consumer Products Limited. It was released digitally in May last year, and a making video, featuring Shoojit Sircar, was released by Western Railway in January 2025.

Western Railway recently announced that it has generated a record Rs 1.72 crore from film and advertisement shoots conducted on its premises between April 1, 2025 and February 15, 2026. Its earlier highest earnings were recorded in 2022–23, when it collected approximately Rs 1.64 crore from film shoots.

Vineet Abhishek told Bollywood Hungama, “It is often assumed that government offices function in a typical way where one will be asked to go from one counter to another. However, that’s not the case with Western Railway. We have a single window clearance system for approving film shoot permissions. One can also apply through India Cine Hub, run by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC). Western Railway is the only railway zone to be covered under ICH.”

John Abraham shot at WR Headquarters in Churchgate, Lower Parel railway station and Mumbai Central railway station for Maria IPS.” Bollywood Hungama has learned that the permission to shoot for Maria IPS was applied for in November 2025.

EXCLUSIVE: Anurag Kashyap reveals why Vijay Sethupathi and Javed Akhtar have been mentioned under ‘Special Thanks’ in Kennedy

After a long wait, Anurag Kashyap’s Kennedy, starring Rahul Bhat and Sunny Leone, was finally released on Friday, February 20, on Zee5. The acclaimed film premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. The same year, it was screened at the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, that too in the sprawling Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, where it got a thunderous response from the 1000+ attendees. Last year, Anurag had revealed in an interview that Vijay Sethupathi would be mentioned under ‘Special Thanks’ in Kennedy, but didn’t divulge the reason behind it. True to his statement, the popular actor is indeed credited, with Javed Akhtar also featuring in the ‘Special Thanks’ list.

Bollywood Hungama exclusively spoke to Anurag Kashyap to understand the reason behind their mentions. Anurag revealed, “Vijay made some edit suggestions into the film.” As for Javed Akhtar, he replied, “Earlier, we had used a dialogue from Javed Saab. But later, it got edited.”

In an event hosted by The Hindu in May 2025, Anurag Kashyap revealed how Vijay Sethupathi convinced him to take up the role of the antagonist in the 2024 cult Tamil flick, Maharaja. At that time, Anurag had said, “After Imaikka Nodigal (2018), I said no to a lot of South films because every other day, a South film would come to me. It started post-Kennedy. I was in the post-production of Kennedy. I was constantly meeting Vijay Sethupathi at my neighbour’s.”

Anurag continued, “He (Vijay Sethupathi) said there’s this amazing story, and they’ve (the makers of Maharaja) been trying to reach you. I said no first. Then he helped me find something in Kennedy. He has a ‘Thank You’ card in Kennedy. Then I couldn’t say no to him. Then I said, ‘Listen, I have to get my daughter married next year, and I don’t think I can afford it.’ Then Vijay Sethupathi said, ‘We’ll help you.’ And Maharaja happened (laughs).”

Salman Khan and family unhappy with public health update of Salim Khan: Report

The family of veteran screenwriter Salim Khan has expressed displeasure over the public disclosure of his medical condition and has requested that no further updates be shared with the media. The development comes after his treating doctor addressed the press about his health following his recent hospitalisation.

Salim Khan was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai after suffering a minor brain haemorrhage. Dr Jalil Parkar, who is overseeing his treatment, confirmed to the media that the screenwriter was stable but on ventilator support. He also stated that Khan had undergone a medical procedure earlier this week.

However, according to a source close to the family who spoke to Variety India, the family was unhappy with the public nature of the statement. “Health is a private matter. Ideally, no updates should be shared with the media and any communication should be left entirely to the family, if and when they choose to address fans and well-wishers,” the source said.

The source further revealed that the family conveyed their concerns directly to hospital authorities. “Salman and his family were displeased with the doctor’s public statement and have clearly conveyed to the authorities that they do not want any further details disclosed,” the source added.

The hospital, which has previously issued regular updates regarding high-profile patients, has reportedly agreed to respect the family’s wishes in this case.

Despite the intense public interest in his condition, the family has emphasised that medical information remains confidential and that they wish to avoid speculation or unnecessary media scrutiny.

Over the past two days, several members of the family have been seen visiting the hospital, including his wife Salma Khan, sons Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan, daughters Alvira and Arpita, and Helen.

Salim Khan continues to receive treatment at Lilavati Hospital.

Kerala HC seeks CBFC, producers’ response on plea to stay The Kerala Story 2 release

The Kerala High Court on Thursday issued notice to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and the producers of The Kerala Story 2 – Goes Beyond on a petition seeking cancellation of the film’s certification and a stay on its release.

The plea, filed by Kannur resident Sreedev Namboodiri, alleges that the upcoming sequel portrays Kerala in an unfair light and has the potential to incite communal and regional disharmony. The matter was heard by Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas, who directed the CBFC and the film’s producer, Sunshine Pictures, to file their responses. The case is scheduled for further hearing on February 24.

The Kerala Story 2 – Goes Beyond is the sequel to the controversial Hindi film The Kerala Story, which depicted a group of women from Kerala who were allegedly recruited into the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

In his petition, Namboodiri has challenged the certification granted to the sequel, arguing that the CBFC failed to properly evaluate the film’s impact on public order, decency and morality as mandated under Section 5B of the Cinematograph Act, 1952.

The plea raises concerns over the teaser and trailer of the film. It points to the closing line in the teaser — “ab sahenge nahin… ladenge” (we will not tolerate it anymore, but will fight) — claiming that it amounts to a call for action that could trigger violence. The petition also alleges that certain dialogues and themes in the promotional material may provoke communal tensions.

According to the petitioner, while the teaser and trailer depict women from multiple States, the narrative continues to be branded as The Kerala Story, which he argues unfairly associates terrorism and forced conversion specifically with Kerala. The plea contends that such portrayal undermines the dignity and reputation of the people of the State and may infringe constitutional protections under Articles 14 and 21. It also argues that the certification overlooks the reasonable restrictions on free speech under Article 19(2).

The petitioner has sought quashing of the film’s certification, suspension of its release pending consideration of his revision petition, or directions for modifications to the film. These include reconsidering the title and inserting adequate disclaimers to avoid what he describes as regional vilification.

Filmmaker Navjot Gulati has alleged that his long-delayed film Pooja Meri Jaan remains unreleased due to ongoing pricing disagreements, revealing that his father’s last wish was to see the film before he passed away in 2024.

In an interview with Variety India, Gulati said his father repeatedly asked about the film’s release during the final months of his life. “He kept asking me ‘Kab aayegi teri Pooja’ and I kept telling him soon. But it was not to be,” Gulati shared, adding that his father died waiting for the film to see the light of day.

The director further claimed that the film’s co-producer, Amar Kaushik, has not responded to his calls or messages since October 2025. “I'm tired of calling and texting and yet not hearing back. The only reason I'm telling this to the world is because they refuse to have any sort of accountability,” he said.

According to Gulati, Pooja Meri Jaan has faced multiple postponements — first slated for 2024, then pushed to 2025, and now still awaiting release in February 2026. He stated that while a streaming platform has shown interest in acquiring the film, negotiations over pricing have continued for nine months without resolution, calling it an “unending cycle.”

The film was originally commissioned as an OTT release and was set to stream on JioCinema. However, after the platform merged with Disney+ Hotstar, the producers were reportedly informed that they could explore selling the film to other platforms.

Gulati alleged that the production house, Maddock Films, is holding out for a higher price. While he said he understands the commercial considerations, he questioned why alternative release strategies are not being considered. Referring to Luv Films’ recent release Vadh 2, which was originally commissioned for OTT but later released theatrically, Gulati asked why a similar approach could not be adopted for his film.

“They will never sell it unless they don't get the price they're looking for. The reality is, they are so consumed by big movies now that they don't care about the small films they have made,” he said.

Expressing his fears, Gulati added that he does not want Pooja Meri Jaan to meet the fate of Shoebite, directed by Shoojit Sircar, which remains unreleased despite years of discussion.

In a social media note shared in January last year, Gulati wrote about losing his father in November and described the lingering regret that he could not show him what he called his “life’s best work.” The post, tagged with actors Mrunal Thakur and Vikram Singh Chauhan, expressed hope that the film would eventually release.

As of now, the makers of Pooja Meri Jaan have not publicly responded to Gulati’s latest remarks.

EXCLUSIVE: Vishal Bhardwaj reveals why Aamir Khan has been thanked in O'Romeo: “His suggestion changed so many things for me; wanted to thank Aamir from the BOTTOM of my heart”

Shahid Kapoor’s O'Romeo is having a decent run at the box office and is enjoying a good word of mouth. Moviegoers, who ventured out to see the film on the big screen, were surprised to see the mention of Aamir Khan in the opening disclaimer. Many expected that the superstar might have a cameo in the crime drama. However, Aamir is not present in the film and this made many moviegoers curious about his connection to O'Romeo.

Bollywood Hungama has learned the reason behind the special thanks to Aamir. Director Vishal Bhardwaj exclusively told us, “Aamir wanted to hear the script of O'Romeo. And when he heard it, he gave me this idea, that someone should be killed at a crucial point in the film.”

Vishal Bhardwaj further revealed, “Killing the lawyer Anjum Ansari (Resh Lamba) in the restaurant was his idea. This is the reason why I thanked him. This suggestion changed so many things for me. Because from there, the protagonist, Ustara (Shahid Kapoor) gets attracted towards the girl (Afshan, played by Triptii Dimri). He realizes, ‘Oh my God, she can do anything to exact revenge’. So, he starts taking her seriously and even nurses her back to health after she gets injured.”

Vishal Bhardwaj continued, “So, the whole love story starts from there. That was a big plot point for me. And that's why I wanted to thank Aamir from the bottom of my heart.”

Besides Shahid Kapoor, O'Romeo also stars Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar and Avinash Tiwary while Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia and Disha Patani feature in special appearances. It is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. Incidentally, the enterprising and dashing producer celebrated his 60th birthday yesterday, on February 18.

As for Aamir Khan, he delivered the successful film, Sitaare Zameen Par (2025) last year and was also seen in an interesting cameo in Rajinikanth-starrer Coolie (2025). At present, he’s gearing up for Lahore 1947. While it features Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta in prominent roles, Aamir reportedly has an extended cameo. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, it also stars Ali Fazal, Shabana Azmi and others. Recently, Aamir Khan Productions announced that Lahore 1947 will be released on August 13 this year. Before the partition saga, the banner will also release Ek Din on May 1. It stars Junaid Khan and marks the debut of South sensation Sai Pallavi in Hindi cinema.

The case stems from a financial dispute connected to his directorial venture Ata Pata Laapata, for which funds were borrowed in 2010. Over the years, the matter escalated into cheque bounce proceedings, with the outstanding amount reportedly rising due to accumulated interest and penalties.

Earlier this month, the High Court had taken note of delays in settlement before Yadav surrendered and was briefly sent back to jail. Following subsequent hearings, he has now been granted bail.

With the legal proceedings still underway, Yadav has reiterated that he will remain present as directed by the court and comply with future orders.

Rajpal Yadav secures bail; lawyer says legal battle over 2010 film deal was “layered and confusing”

Actor Rajpal Yadav was granted bail on Monday in connection with an ongoing financial dispute linked to his 2010 production venture. Speaking to Mumbai Mirror shortly after the court’s decision, his lawyer Bhaskar Upadhyay said that obtaining relief was a challenging process.

According to Upadhyay, the case traces back more than a decade and revolves around contractual arrangements tied to a film project produced by Yadav. Over the years, he explained, several agreements were executed, followed by a consent decree and additional legal proceedings, ultimately resulting in what he described as a complicated and multi-layered matter.

Commenting on his client’s understanding of the situation, Upadhyay said, "He is not a lawyer; he doesn't understand technicalities. He is an actor, a family man. Whenever the court asked, he simply said, Whatever I owe, I will pay," he shared, adding, "He himself had a lot at stake in that project. It's not like he walked away unaffected," Upadhyay said.

The lawyer further alleged that the complainant was intent on seeking imprisonment rather than financial recovery. "If it was only about money, they could have taken the security. But there was a malicious intent. The complainant said that 'We don't want this and just kindly execute the decree by sending him in jail'. This was categorically said by the complainants. If it was the issue of a money only then they must have taken the surety. He had given his original property documents. He surrendered it before the court stating the value of my property is more than 40 crores," he said.

Upadhyay also confirmed that part of the outstanding amount has already been arranged. He stated that Rs 2.5 crore has been mobilised towards the total sum under consideration. "He is trying, within his capacity, to honour what he has committed," he said, adding, "For him he was in the impression that that money was 5 crores. He has to pay back 5 crores. He never disputed that amount. But he just wanted the code to clarify. What about that money? Because this 5 crores was invested by the complainant in that movie, not given a personal loan to him for his personal needs."

There has also been speculation within industry circles that members of the film fraternity have extended assistance. While refraining from naming individuals, Upadhyay acknowledged the support. "Many are helping in his odd hours. The specifics are for him to share when the time is right," he said.

Despite the legal challenges, the lawyer maintained that Yadav remains composed. "He is strong. He says he will comply with court directions. His only request is that his side be properly heard," Upadhyay said.

Ameesha Patel faces non-bailable warrant over alleged breach of contract case; Gadar 2 actress REACTS!

A court in Moradabad has issued a non-bailable warrant against Bollywood actor Ameesha Patel after she allegedly failed to appear despite multiple summons in connection with a 2017 breach of contract case. The order, reportedly, was passed by the court of the Additional Civil Judge (Junior Division), which is hearing a complaint filed by local event organiser Pawan Verma.

According to the complaint, Verma — a resident of Double Phatak and owner of an event management firm — had booked Patel to perform at a wedding ceremony on November 16, 2017. The event was reportedly held for Ayush Agrawal in Moradabad.

Verma claimed that an advance payment of Rs 14.50 lakhs was made to the actor for the appearance. He further stated that accommodation and meal arrangements were made for her at a hotel on Delhi Road in the city.

However, Patel allegedly did not travel from Mumbai to attend the event on the scheduled date. Following the no-show, Verma claimed that the actor assured him the entire amount would be refunded. Payment Dispute and Legal Action In his submission before the court, Verma alleged that Rs 10 lakhs was returned in cash. The remaining Rs 4.50 lakh was issued through a cheque, which later bounced.

After the cheque dishonour, Verma approached the court seeking legal remedy. The court subsequently issued multiple summons to Patel to appear in connection with the case. As she did not appear on the scheduled dates, the court has now issued a non-bailable warrant to secure her presence.

The complainant has also alleged that the actor was attempting to evade legal proceedings. Defence Cites Settlement Responding to the development, Gadar 2 actress took to Instagram Stories, and said that the case is an “old and settled matter”, adding that her lawyers will now initiate criminal proceedings of cheating against Pawan Verma.

“Media reports suggest about certain proceedings at Moradabad by one Pawan Verma. I wish to inform one and all that this is avv old matter which was years back in which the said Pawan Verma had signed a settlement deed and received the entire agreed amount,” Ameesha wrote.

She added, “Despite this it seems he has lodged proceedings making false allegations. My lawyers are initiating appropriate criminal proceedings of cheating against this person to expose his lies while I prefer to focus on my work and ignore people who choose to make a public spectacle for gaining attention on false pretexts.”

Dhurandhar 2 shoot lands Aditya Dhar’s banner in trouble, BMC seeks permanent blacklisting: Report

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has initiated strict action against filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s production banner, B62 Studios, over alleged violations during the Mumbai shoot of Dhurandhar: The Revenge. According to a report by The Indian Express, the civic body has recommended permanent blacklisting of the production house from seeking future filming permissions, citing repeated breaches of conditions.

According to officials from the BMC’s A ward office, a letter has been sent to the Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Zone 1) proposing that B62 Studios be barred from applying for shooting permissions through the state-run portal managed by the Maharashtra Film, Stage and Cultural Development Corporation Limited. Alleged Violations During February Shoot The controversy stems from a shoot conducted between February 7 and 8 in South Mumbai, specifically between Modi Street and Perin Nariman Street in A ward. Permission for the schedule had been granted on January 30 through the state film corporation.

However, authorities allege that the production team violated police conditions that explicitly prohibited the use of crackers and flammable materials on set.

Following these alleged breaches, a subsequent application was submitted by Komal Pokhriyal seeking permission to shoot on February 13 and 14. Citing earlier violations, officials cancelled the request. Second Incident and Seizure of Torches A fresh application was later filed for filming between 12:30 am and 4:00 am on February 14. This time, conditional approval was granted after the applicants assured authorities that no flammable materials would be used.

Despite this undertaking, police reportedly received complaints around 12:45 am on February 14 regarding the use of flammable torches during filming. A senior BMC official stated that civic officers reached the spot within 15 minutes and seized five lit torches from the location.

After the second alleged violation, the applicants reportedly informed authorities that fire-related visuals would instead be created using visual effects (VFX). Proposed Penalties and Blacklisting In addition to recommending permanent blacklisting, the civic body has proposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh for allegedly shooting on a building terrace and deploying two generator vans without proper authorisation. The Rs 25,000 security deposit submitted by the applicant has also been forfeited.

The A ward office has further sought approval to formally register the seized items and proceed with penalties against the applicants — Komal Pokhriyal, Nashir Khan — along with B62 Studios.

If approved, the action would prevent the production house and named applicants from securing future filming permissions through the state film corporation portal.

Dharma Productions vs Humble Motion Pictures: Bombay HC dispute over Vyaah Kartaare Da ends amicably, reveals a source

A source has confirmed that Dharma Productions' legal dispute with Dubai-based Humble Motion Pictures FZCO over the Punjabi film Vyaah Kartaare Da has been amicably resolved. The development comes days after the production house approached the Bombay High Court alleging wrongful termination of a services agreement.

A source close to the production house said, “Dharma Productions had approached the Bombay High Court against Humble Motion Pictures FZCO after Humble wrongfully and without cause terminated the Services Agreement for the Punjabi film Vyaah Kartaare Da. Dharma sought injunctive relief to restrain Humble from acting upon the termination, along with monetary relief of approximately Rs. 7 crores. The Parties have now amicably resolved the matter. Humble has withdrawn the termination notice and confirmed that it will perform the Services Agreement in full force and effect, without any modification.”

The petition had been filed under Section 9 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, seeking urgent interim protection pending arbitration proceedings. As per court records, Humble Motion Pictures had sought time to file its reply on February 12, 2026, with the matter scheduled for further hearing on February 18.

According to the plea, a services agreement dated December 10, 2025, was executed between the two companies. Under this arrangement, Dharma was to provide consultancy, marketing and allied services for Vyaah Kartaare Da. The structure of the agreement reportedly allowed Dharma to recover losses of approximately Rs. 7.25 crores allegedly incurred from an earlier joint project between the companies.

Dharma had contended that it bore no obligation toward production costs of the Punjabi film. Instead, it was entitled to specified revenue shares until it recouped a fixed amount of Rs. 7.03 crores under the agreement. The dispute arose after Humble Motion Pictures allegedly issued an email on January 21, 2026, terminating the agreement, stating that it no longer wished to avail Dharma’s services.

In its petition, Dharma argued that the contract did not contain a termination-at-will clause and that no breach had been attributed to the company. It also claimed that Humble had already benefited from Dharma’s brand association before issuing the termination notice.

With the latest source statement confirming withdrawal of the termination and continuation of the agreement without modification, the legal stand-off appears to have concluded for now, clearing the way for the collaboration on Vyaah Kartaare Da to proceed as originally structured.

Rajpal Yadav gets temporary relief: Delhi High Court grants bail in Rs. 9 crores cheque bounce case to attend family wedding

Veteran Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav has received temporary relief from the Delhi High Court in the long-running Rs. 9 crores cheque bounce case that has resurfaced dramatically in February 2026. The court has suspended his sentence, granting him bail to attend a family wedding on February 19, even as legal proceedings against him continue.

Recent reports suggest that the actor is supposed to attend his niece’s wedding due to which the court reached this decision. While the latest bail order offers temporary relief, it does not amount to a final acquittal. The actor has been directed to remain present—physically or virtually—at the next major hearing scheduled for March 18, 2026.

The case traces its origins back to 2010, when Yadav borrowed Rs. 5 crores from Murali Projects Pvt Ltd, a Delhi-based company, to finance his directorial debut, Ata Pata Laapata. Released in 2012, the film failed to perform at the box office, leaving the actor unable to repay the loan. The financial dispute soon escalated into multiple cheque-bounce cases. Over the years, accumulated interest and penalties reportedly pushed the total outstanding amount to nearly Rs. 9 crores.

In 2018, Yadav was sentenced to six months in prison and served three months in Tihar Jail before being released on bail pending appeal. However, the matter regained urgency this month after the High Court observed that the actor had breached multiple undertakings to settle the dues.

On February 2, 2026, the court noted that despite more than 25 adjournments granted for mediation and repayment discussions, there was a lack of “sincere and genuine measures” taken to clear the liability. Following the refusal to grant further extensions, Yadav surrendered on February 5 and was sent back to Tihar Jail to serve the remainder of his sentence.

During subsequent hearings on February 12 and 16, Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma underscored that restitution for the complainant remains the court’s top priority. The bench rejected a proposal to deposit funds via a Fixed Deposit Receipt (FDR), directing that payments be made through a Demand Draft (DD) to ensure immediate realization of funds.

Amid these developments, members of the film fraternity reportedly stepped forward to extend financial support. As of mid-February, Yadav’s legal team informed the court that approximately Rs. 1.5 crore had been deposited into the respondent’s bank account.

All eyes are now on whether Yadav can make substantial progress in settling the remaining dues before the case reaches its next decisive stage.

Deepika Padukone to join The White Lotus Season 4: Report

Deepika Padukone’s long-rumoured association with The White Lotus appears to be back in focus, with fresh reports suggesting she may join the upcoming fourth season of the critically acclaimed series.

According to a report by Deccan Chronicle, Deepika is set to feature in season 4 of the Emmy-winning dark comedy anthology, reportedly alongside actors such as Helena Bonham Carter and Chris Messina, among others. The publication claims that the new season will be filmed in France, with Château de La Messardière in Saint-Tropez reportedly selected as the primary location.

However, it is important to note that there has been no official confirmation from the studio or the makers regarding Deepika’s involvement. Her participation in the project remains speculative at this stage.

This is not the first time Deepika’s name has been linked to the series. In 2024, reports had claimed that she was in talks to join season 3 alongside BLACKPINK’s Lisa. However, she allegedly opted out due to her pregnancy. While those reports were never formally confirmed, they had sparked considerable buzz around a possible Hollywood streaming debut in a high-profile ensemble show.

Now, with season 4 in development, speculation around her casting has resurfaced.

What we know about season 4

Created by Mike White, The White Lotus is known for its satirical take on wealth, privilege and human relationships, set against the backdrop of luxurious resort destinations. Each season introduces a new set of characters while occasionally bringing back familiar faces.

Season 1 was set in Hawaii, season 2 moved to Italy, and season 3 unfolded in Thailand. While HBO has not officially confirmed details about season 4, multiple reports suggest the story will take place at Château de La Messardière in Saint-Tropez, with portions unfolding along the French Riviera and in Paris.

The fourth season is expected to begin production in the spring. Reports indicate that the cast may include Helena Bonham Carter, Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Marissa Long, Alexander Ludwig, Chris Messina, AJ Michalka and Sandra Bernhard. The release is not anticipated before late 2026 or early 2027. Details about the plot have been kept under wraps.

Deepika’s upcoming projects

On the work front, Deepika will next be seen alongside Shah Rukh Khan in the forthcoming film King, directed by Siddharth Anand. The film is slated for a December 24 release.

Until an official announcement is made, her reported casting in The White Lotus season 4 remains unconfirmed.

Is Rohit Saraf playing Ranjha in Heer Ranjha? Here’s what we know!

A couple of days after the official announcement of Heer Ranjha, the sequel to Laila Majnu, reports about the film’s lead actor have already stirred conversations online.

On February 14, 2026, producers Ektaa Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali announced their reunion for the sequel to the 2018 romantic drama Laila Majnu, which originally starred Avinash Tiwary and Triptii Dimri. The new film, titled Heer Ranjha, will be directed by Sajid Ali, who also helmed the original. However, the makers did not reveal any details about the cast at the time of the announcement.

On the same day, Variety India reported that Rohit Saraf had been locked in to play the male lead, Ranjha. “While the cast has not been officially announced, Variety India has exclusively learned that Rohit Saraf is locked to play Ranjha,” the report stated.

However, Hindustan Times has since spoken to sources close to the film’s development who denied the claim. According to the source, the report is untrue and casting for Heer Ranjha is still underway. The source further added that an official announcement regarding the cast will be made soon.

Notably, the makers themselves have not yet issued any statement confirming or denying the speculation around Saraf’s involvement.

The buzz around Rohit’s possible casting has nevertheless excited fans, given his growing popularity among younger audiences. The actor was last seen in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari and is set to return in the fourth season of the hit series Mismatched. He will also feature in the Amazon Prime Video original show Revolutionaries.

Rajpal Yadav is still in Tihar jail; wife Radha dismisses release rumours: “We are hopeful that he will be out soon”

Actor Rajpal Yadav continues to remain in custody at Tihar Jail amid his ongoing legal battle in a cheque-bounce case, his wife Radha Yadav has confirmed. In a recent interaction with Bombay Times, Radha addressed growing speculation that the actor had been released. The rumours intensified after an old video resurfaced online showing Rajpal thanking Salman Khan, leading some to assume he had secured relief.

Dismissing the claims, Radha said, “As of now, he is not out of Tihar Jail. The bail hearing is scheduled for Monday (February 16).” When asked about his well-being, she shared a brief but reassuring update. “He is okay, from what I understand,” she added. Family Standing Strong Amid the legal turmoil, Radha emphasised that the family has remained united. “Our whole family is together at this time. We are grateful for the support and love he is receiving from his fans and the film fraternity,” she said, expressing gratitude for the concern shown by colleagues and admirers.

There have also been reports suggesting that actors such as Salman Khan, Sonu Sood, and Ajay Devgn stepped in to help clear Rajpal’s financial dues. However, Radha refrained from confirming any specific details.

“I can't take any specific names right now, but I would just want to say many people from the industry have stepped in to support. I'm not able to divulge names and figures at this stage,” she said cautiously. The Legal Case Rajpal’s legal troubles stem from a Rs 5 crores loan he took in 2010 to finance his directorial debut, Ata Pata Laapata. After the film underperformed at the box office, repayment issues led to a prolonged court battle. Over time, the outstanding amount, including interest, reportedly rose to nearly Rs 9 crores.

While the actor has deposited Rs 75 lakh so far, the court observed that a significant portion remains unpaid, leading to his recent surrender and continued custody. Hope for Resolution Ending on a hopeful note, Radha expressed confidence that the matter would soon be resolved. “We are hopeful that he will be out soon. That's all I can say now. Once Rajpalji is out, he will be able to speak to you and the media and give further clarity on the matter.”

As the bail hearing approaches, the family awaits the court’s decision, while support from fans and industry peers continues to pour in.
