We are now back with another interesting piece of information – the shoot is steadily progressing and is expected to be completed this month, that is, February 2026.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba shot a month-long schedule in Mumbai with Kartik Aaryan. Yesterday, on January 31, the Mumbai schedule was wrapped up. 70% of the shoot is now complete.”

The source added, “The team of Naagzilla are heading to Delhi this month, that is, February 2026, where a three-week-long schedule will take place. The completion of the Delhi leg will mark the wrap of the film.”

Naagzilla is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Mahaveer Jain’s Mahaveer Jain Films (with Mrighdeep Singh Lamba as a partner). Interestingly, she is also paired opposite Kartik Aaryan in his other 2026 film, the untitled musical saga, directed by Anurag Basu.

The source further revealed, “Naagzilla went on floors on November 1, 2026, and within four months, the shoot will be wrapped up, thanks to advance planning and dedication of the cast and crew. This was a challenging and one-of-a-kind film and in between, Kartik went all out to promote his Christmas release, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri (2025; also produced by Karan Johar). At the same time, he gave more than a hundred per cent to Naagzilla as well. Once the shoot is completed, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba’s complete focus would be on post-production and ensuring that their labour of love turns out to be an exciting and fascinating piece of cinema for the audiences.”

Priyadarshan to direct Bhoot Police 2 without Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor: Report

Veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan is reportedly set to direct the sequel to the 2021 horror-comedy Bhoot Police, with significant changes to its cast and production approach. According to industry reports, Priyadarshan has been brought on board with a substantial fee of Rs 21 crores to lead the project, underlining confidence in his creative vision for the franchise’s next chapter.

Sources familiar with the development told entertainment portal Pinkvilla that while Bhoot Police 2 will maintain the core blend of humour and supernatural elements that defined the first film, it will not feature the original leads — Saif Ali Khan and Arjun Kapoor. “While the sequel retains the core idea of a horror-comedy, the casting will see a complete refresh. Saif Ali Khan and Arjun Kapoor will not be returning for the second instalment,” the source said.

“The idea is to reinvent the franchise with a new duo. The makers are looking at two actors — one senior and one junior — to create an interesting combo. It’s a proper horror-comedy, staying true to the genre but with more of a theatrical treatment,” the insider added.

Bhoot Police, directed by Pavan Kirpalani, originally starred Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez and Yami Gautam. The film garnered attention for its light-hearted take on ghost-hunting and became popular among audiences on OTT platforms following its 2021 release.

Priyadarshan, known for his work on films such as Hera Pheri, Hungama and Hulchul, is also juggling multiple projects including Bhooth Bangla and Haiwaan, both slated for 2026 releases. Bhooth Bangla — featuring Akshay Kumar — has already locked its theatrical date and marks a reunion between Kumar and the director after more than a decade.

Big Boy Toyz lists Shilpa Shetty, Rohit Shetty’s luxury cars for auction; deets inside!

Big Boy Toyz (BBT) has expanded its footprint in India’s luxury automobile space with the launch of Auction House by Big Boy Toyz, a platform positioned as a premium marketplace for high-value collectible assets. Among the key highlights of the launch is the listing of celebrity-owned luxury vehicles, including cars previously owned by actor Shilpa Shetty and filmmaker Rohit Shetty.

The newly launched auction platform currently features Shilpa Shetty’s Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 and Rohit Shetty’s Mercedes-Benz CLA 200D, bringing celebrity provenance into the spotlight as part of BBT’s larger push to formalise India’s luxury collectibles market. The platform aims to bring cars, watches, elite number plates and other exclusive assets under a single, verified ecosystem.

The launch of the Auction House was marked by a record-setting sale, with the VIP number plate DDC 0001 being auctioned for Rs 2.08 crores. The winning bidder, Kiran Kolipakula from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, underscored a growing appetite for high-value luxury assets beyond India’s metro cities.

Commenting on the launch, Jatin Ahuja, Founder and Managing Director of Big Boy Toyz, said, “For nearly two decades, Big Boy Toyz has been built on one simple promise: trust. People have trusted us with the most valuable cars in the country.” He added that the success of the DDC 0001 auction reinforced the need for transparency and verification when dealing with assets of such scale and value.

According to the company, Auction House by Big Boy Toyz has been designed to support both sellers and buyers, offering curated access to affluent collectors while ensuring end-to-end transaction support. Celebrity-owned vehicles, such as those belonging to Shilpa Shetty and Rohit Shetty, are positioned as assets that carry both luxury appeal and cultural relevance.

EXCLUSIVE: Kennedy to FINALLY release; Sunny Leone, Anurag Kashyap, Rahul Bhat to launch trailer at Kala Ghoda Arts Festival 2026

Fans of Anurag Kashyap have been eagerly waiting for his much-loved film, Kennedy, to release. Bollywood Hungama has learned that the acclaimed thriller will finally see the light of day in a month or two. Moreover, the trailer of the film will be launched at the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival 2026 in Mumbai.

As per the schedule uploaded on the website of Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, the trailer will be unveiled on Sunday, February 8 at Cross Maidan in South Mumbai. Anurag Kashyap, along with the film’s star cast – Sunny Leone and Rahul Bhat – will be present and the trio will indulge in an interaction about the film in the presence of several attendees. The schedule mentions that this exciting event will bring ‘the festival to a powerful cinematic close’.

Kennedy premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival and was also screened in the sprawling Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre as part of the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival the same year. It is produced by Zee Studios, Ranjan Singh and Kabir Ahuja. In 2025, Anurag Kashyap made his displeasure clear after the release was delayed. He told The Hollywood Reporter, “Where is Kennedy? And whose hands is Kennedy in? It’s in the hands of some people who’ve never made films before. The people who made Kennedy in the studio are all gone… The people who are there, the directive given to them is to up the share prices, generate profits, cost recovery... That’s all there is. Nobody is interested in films. It doesn't matter if Kennedy went to Cannes; it doesn't matter if it had such a massive reception at festivals. Forget outside India, they've seen the reception in India, but where is the film?”

The fact that the trailer is being launched has given hopes that the release of the film is also in the offing very soon. It now remains to be seen whether it releases next month or in March and whether it arrives in cinemas or directly on an OTT platform.

Other highlights at Kala Ghoda Arts Festival 2026 Besides Kennedy trailer launch, many other film-related events will take place at the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival this year. On February 1, R Balki will indulge in a chat about movies and food and it'll be followed by the screening of his film Cheeni Kum (2007). Two more similar interactions that will stand out are that of the team of Jhankaar Beats (Sujoy Ghosh, Rahul Bose, Sanjay Suri, Shayan Munshi, Rangita Pritish Nandy) on February 6 and the team of Tanvi The Great (Anupam Kher, Shubhangi Dutt, Ankur Suman and Abhishek Dixit) on February 4. The screenings of both films will take place before the discussion.

A screening of Ardh Satya (1983) will be held on February 2 followed by a discussion with key members of the team. The discussion will be moderated by Nandita Puri, the ex-wife of Ardh Satya's lead actor, the late Om Puri.

The teams of Tu Yaa Main, Kohrra: Season 2 and Do Deewane Sheher Mein will indulge in promotional events on February 1, February 4 and February 7, respectively. On February 6, Vir Das will promote his memoir, 'The Outsider: A Memoir For Misfits'. On February 7, the legendary Gulzar will talk about poetry, cinema and more with Sathya Saran. While Usha Uthup will have a concert on February 7, Monali Thakur and Farhan Akhtar will perform live on February 8. Interestingly, these performances will take place at the Asiatic Library Steps.

On February 4, Tannishtha Chatterjee and Sharib Hashmi will stage the play, Breast Of Luck. On February 1, Saiee Manjrekar will be the muse for Dolly Jain for a saree-draping session. Lastly, Regal Cinema will screen interesting films like Sabar Bonda (2025), The Seven Year Itch (1955) and Sholay – The Final Cut (1975) on February 5.

9 minutes edited out of Dhurandhar on Netflix

While there was talk of extended playing time with added footage, Dhurandhar-ites are disappointed to see footage trimmed on Netflix.

The playing time for Dhurandhar in the movie theatres was 3 hours and 34 minutes. It is reduced to 3 hours and 25 minutes on OTT. Hence nine minutes of playing time have been curtailed on the digital platform.

While no explanation is available officially, a source informs this writer that the decision to trim this epic film was taken unilaterally by Netflix without the director Aditya Dhar’s consent.

Dhurandhar released in theatres last year on December 5. The film is still running with quite a few shows all over the country. It has turned out to be the all-time highest Hindi grosser by earning close to Rs. 900 crores. Its worldwide figures easily surpassed Rs. 1300 crores gross.

Produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, Dhurandhar told the story of an Indian secret spy, played by Ranveer Singh, who infiltrates the underworld of Lyari in Karachi in order to nullify their anti-India terror activities. The film also starred Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi among others in pivotal roles.

Paresh Rawal Addresses Hera Pheri 3 Delay, Clarifies It’s Due to Technical Issues

Recently, during his appearance on the Gujarati comedy YouTube series The Lavari Show, veteran actor Paresh Rawal spoke at length about the ongoing speculation surrounding Hera Pheri 3. The actor confirmed that the much-awaited third installment is definitely happening, but clarified that certain issues have temporarily stalled the film’s progress.

Hera Pheri remains one of the most iconic comedy franchises in Indian cinema, with Rawal’s Baburao Ganpatrao Apte continuing to enjoy cult status among fans. When asked about the status of the film, Rawal firmly stated, “Hera Pheri will hundred percent be made.” However, he added that the delay has been caused by technical complications rather than creative disagreements.

Addressing reports of legal trouble and rumours suggesting that Akshay Kumar had sued him for Rs 25 crores, Rawal brushed aside the controversy in his trademark candid style. He said, “All this that had blown up in between that Akshay Kumar has sued me for Rs 25 crores, that is all okay yaa, it’s like kachva chaap agarbatti.” Through the remark, Rawal indicated that the issue has been exaggerated and is being misunderstood by the public. Explaining the reason behind the delay, the actor clarified that the matter lies between the producer and Akshay Kumar. He stressed that the issue has nothing to do with him personally and that he remains committed to the project. Rawal added that once the technical issue is resolved, the film will be signed and will move forward without further obstacles.

Paresh Rawal also made it clear that Baburao is central to the identity of the franchise. Emphasising his point, he said, “If they are going ahead with the idea of doing Hera Pheri without Baburao, then it will be a disaster.” His statement underlined the importance of the character and its deep connection with audiences.

FIR filed against Ranveer Singh over alleged insult to Chavundi Daiva tradition, case to be heard on April 8

An FIR has been registered against actor Ranveer Singh at the High Grounds Police Station in Bengaluru for allegedly hurting Hindu religious sentiments and disrespecting the Chavundi Daiva tradition of coastal Karnataka, according to a report by NDTV. The case was filed on Wednesday, months after the incident that initially sparked controversy.

The complaint relates to an event held on November 28, 2025, during the closing ceremony of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. During the event, Ranveer Singh allegedly mimicked a Daiva performance inspired by Rishab Shetty’s film Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1. The act reportedly drew sharp criticism on social media, with many users accusing the actor of mocking a sacred ritual deeply rooted in the cultural and religious practices of coastal Karnataka. Following the backlash, Ranveer Singh had issued a public apology through his Instagram Stories, expressing regret for hurting sentiments and clarifying that there was no intention to offend any community or tradition. Despite the apology, legal action has now been initiated in connection with the same incident.

The FIR has been registered under Sections 196, 299, and 302 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The complaint was filed by Prashanth Methal, a 46-year-old advocate based in Bengaluru. According to the complaint, the actor imitated expressions linked to Panjurli and Guliga Daiva in a crude and comical manner. It further alleged that Ranveer Singh referred to the revered Chavundi Daiva as a “female ghost,” which the complainant claimed amounted to a serious insult to religious beliefs and traditional practices.

The matter has since been referred to the 1st Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court in Bengaluru. The court is scheduled to hear the case on April 8. As of now, there has been no response from the actor or his representatives regarding the registration of the FIR.

Madras High Court grants anti-piracy injunction to protect Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani 3 ahead of release

In a significant development ahead of the theatrical release of Mardaani 3, the Madras High Court on Wednesday granted an ad-interim anti-piracy injunction to safeguard the copyright of the upcoming Hindi film starring Rani Mukerji. The order was passed in a suit filed by the film’s producer, Yash Raj Films, citing concerns over potential piracy before and after the release.

Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy issued an interim order restraining internet service providers (ISPs) and cable television operators from any unauthorised broadcast, transmission, or dissemination of the film. The injunction aims to prevent the film from being unlawfully telecast or circulated online prior to its official release in theatres.

While passing the order, the Court observed that cases involving pre-release piracy carry the risk of irreversible injury to the copyright holder if unauthorised broadcast is not curbed at the earliest stage. The Court noted that once pirated content enters the public domain, the damage caused to the producer’s commercial interests cannot be undone.

At the same time, the Court also acknowledged concerns surrounding the broad scope of anti-piracy injunctions. It observed that such expansive orders could potentially affect the legitimate business interests of intermediaries, including ISPs and cable operators, who may not be directly involved in piracy-related activities.

Striking a balance between protecting intellectual property rights and safeguarding lawful commercial operations, the Court directed that the injunction would remain in force subject to Yash Raj Films furnishing an indemnity in favour of the respondents. This indemnity would cover any legitimate business losses that may arise due to the operation of the interim order.

The legal action was initiated by Yash Raj Films amid apprehensions that Mardaani 3 could be subjected to unlawful telecast or online circulation, a concern that has become increasingly common with high-profile film releases.

Mardaani 3 marks the third instalment in the Mardaani franchise, with Rani Mukerji reprising her role as a police officer, a character she previously portrayed in the earlier films released in 2014 and 2019. The film is directed by Abhiraj Minawala and is scheduled to hit cinemas on January 30, 2026.

Notably, the Madras High Court had recently passed a similar interim order restraining the unauthorised broadcast or dissemination of the Hindi film Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, underscoring the judiciary’s continued focus on curbing film piracy ahead of theatrical releases.

Border 2 director Anurag Singh clarifies lighting issues, says corrections are underway

While almost every component of Border 2 is being widely praised, a section of critics and audiences has expressed dissatisfaction with the dim lighting in the film’s climactic battle sequences.

Addressing the concern, director Anurag Singh explains, “The climax is not meant to be dark. It is set in the evening, but I think due to projection issues, it feels darker in some cinemas. In most theatres, it appears fine.”

Anurag confirms that corrective measures are already underway. “We have sent out a mail to all theatres explaining how to address this issue. Additionally, we are updating the print in theatres where the climax is appearing darker than intended.”

The director also spoke about the challenges of mounting the large-scale action set pieces. “Action is always tough to shoot. And action in a period war film is even more challenging. The trench warfare and tank sequences were particularly demanding. But like I said, I enjoy a good challenge.”

Team of Varun Dhawan breaks silence on viral Mumbai Metro Video; clarifies no fine or legal action

The team of actor Varun Dhawan has issued a formal clarification addressing the viral Mumbai Metro video that made headlines around Republic Day, firmly stating that no fine, penalty, or legal action has been taken against the actor. The statement comes a day after Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd (MMMOCL) publicly cautioned the actor over his behaviour inside a metro train during promotions for Border 2.

In an official statement released by Varun Dhawan’s team, they clarified, “We would like to address the recent reports regarding Varun Dhawan and the Mumbai Metro. We wish to clarify that no fine or penalty of any kind has been issued to Varun. The earlier post by the authorities has been taken down, and we appreciate their cooperation in clearing up this misunderstanding.” The team further emphasised that the actor holds the highest regard for civic rules as it read further, “Varun has the utmost respect for the city's rules and the Metro department’s efforts. We are happy to confirm that there are no pending issues, and we thank the media for sharing this accurate update”.

The clarification follows a video that surfaced on social media showing Varun Dhawan travelling in a Mumbai Metro train, where he was seen playfully hanging from grab handles and vertical poles meant for passenger support. The clip, reportedly shot during Border 2 promotions, quickly went viral, with many fans viewing it as a light-hearted celebrity moment.

However, MMMOCL took a serious stance and responded via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, issuing a strongly worded advisory. The post cautioned that such behaviour could be punishable under provisions of the Metro Railways (Operations and Maintenance) Act, 2002, which covers nuisance and potential damage to public property. The advisory, while laced with humour, also warned of penalties or imprisonment depending on the gravity of the offence.

The Metro authority’s post was later taken down, paving the way for Varun’s team to clear the air. While the incident reignited conversations online about celebrity responsibility in public spaces and the influence stars wield over younger audiences, the actor’s team has now confirmed that the matter stands resolved.

With the clarification in place, the focus shifts back to Varun Dhawan’s professional commitments, as the actor continues to engage with audiences while reiterating his respect for public rules and institutions.

Arijit Singh announces he’s stepping away from playback singing; says he is “calling it off”

In a development that sent shockwaves across the Indian music industry, singer Arijit Singh announced that he would no longer be taking up new assignments as a playback vocalist. The celebrated singer shared the unexpected update through a heartfelt Instagram post on January 27, 2026, leaving fans and members of the film fraternity grappling with the possibility of a future without his voice in mainstream cinema.

In his message, Arijit wrote, “Hello, Happy new year to all. I want to thank you all for giving me so much of love all these years as listeners. I am happy to announce that I am not gonna be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. I am calling it off. It was a wonderful journey.” Despite its calm and grateful tone, the announcement came as a major surprise given Arijit’s unparalleled presence in Bollywood music over the past decade.

Soon after the post went live, social media was flooded with messages of disbelief, sorrow, and gratitude from fans who described Arijit as the emotional voice of a generation. Many credited his songs for becoming the soundtrack to their most personal moments, from heartbreak and healing to love and hope.

The industry response was equally emotional. Composer-singer Amaal Mallik, who has collaborated with Arijit on several popular tracks, shared a heartfelt message expressing both confusion and respect for the decision. He noted that film music would “never be the same” without Arijit Singh, while adding that he feels grateful to have been born in the singer’s era.

However, amid rising concern and speculation, Arijit has since offered further clarity. In a follow-up message shared via his locked X (formerly Twitter) account, the singer reassured fans that music remains central to his life. Reasserting his love for the art form, Arijit wrote, “God has been really kind to me. I am fan of good music and in future will be learning more and do more on my own as a small little artist. Thanks again for all your support. I still have to finish some pending commitments, will finish them. So you might get some releases this year. Just to be clear that I won't stop making music.”

From soulful romantic ballads to intense heartbreak anthems and spiritual compositions, Arijit Singh’s voice has become inseparable from contemporary Hindi cinema. While his decision signals a shift away from conventional playback singing, his clarification has offered relief to fans. Even as he charts a new, more personal musical path, Arijit Singh’s legacy in Indian film music remains firmly etched in history.

Bhushan Kumar confirms Border 3: T-Series to continue franchise with Nidhi Dutta’s JP Films

The Border franchise is set to continue, with producer Bhushan Kumar confirming that Border 3 will be developed as a collaboration between T-Series and Nidhi Dutta’s JP Films. The announcement comes in the wake of the strong theatrical performance of Border 2, which has registered an impressive opening weekend and received a largely positive response from audiences.

According to those associated with the project, the decision to move ahead with Border 3 reflects the continued relevance and popularity of the franchise, which has long been associated with large-scale storytelling centred on the Indian Armed Forces. The upcoming instalment will once again see T-Series joining hands with JP Films, reinforcing the partnership that has played a key role in shaping the identity of the Border series over the years.

Border 2 has reportedly struck a chord with viewers through its combination of action, emotion, and patriotic themes. The film’s performance at the box office has underlined the audience’s interest in war dramas that focus on personal sacrifice and national duty, elements that have remained central to the franchise since the release of the original Border in 1997.

With Border 3, the makers are expected to build on this foundation while taking the legacy forward for a new generation of viewers. The collaboration brings together T-Series’ production scale and reach with JP Films’ long-standing association with the franchise and its storytelling ethos. Nidhi Dutta, who represents the next generation of the Dutta family’s filmmaking legacy, has been closely involved in maintaining the franchise’s thematic continuity.

While details regarding the cast, director, and timeline of Border 3 are yet to be announced, the confirmation itself has generated interest among fans of the series. Industry observers note that the success of Border 2 has created a favourable environment for expanding the franchise further.

As development begins on Border 3, expectations are that the film will continue to focus on narratives inspired by the bravery and sacrifices of Indian soldiers, while adapting its scale and storytelling to contemporary audiences. More announcements regarding the project are expected in the coming months as the makers move into the next phase of production.

Border 2, which released on January 23 in the Republic Day week, arrived at a time when patriotic fervour traditionally runs high across the country. Timed around India’s Republic Day on January 26, the film benefited from strong word-of-mouth and audience connect with the franchise, translating into impressive box office numbers. Its performance has been widely credited with giving the Hindi film industry a powerful start to 2026, setting an optimistic tone for the year ahead.

Directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar along with Krishan Kumar, J. P. Dutta and Nidhi Dutta, Border 2 expanded the legacy of the 1997 classic into a multi-front war drama set against the backdrop of the 1971 India–Pakistan war. The film, starring Sunny Deol in the lead role along with Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty in key roles, showcased coordinated operations of the Indian Army, Air Force and Navy, combining spectacle with emotion — a balance that resonated strongly with audiences.

The success of Border 2 appears to have reinforced mutual confidence between producer and director, paving the way for this larger collaboration. For Bhushan Kumar, the joint venture aligns with T-Series’ strategy of backing director-driven, event-scale films, while for Anurag Singh, it offers the creative stability to explore ambitious narratives with consistent backing.

With this new alliance, the industry now looks forward to a slate of films that promise scale, substance and strong theatrical appeal.

EXCLUSIVE: Salman Khan back on Battle Of Galwan sets for 15-day additional shoot and patchwork; action scene added

Bollywood Hungama has been at the forefront in giving out news about Salman Khan’s next, Battle Of Galwan. In December, we broke the news that the teaser of the war drama would be unveiled on Salman Khan’s birthday, on December 27. We further informed that the release date of the film will also be announced around the same time. Today, we bring you another exciting piece of information about the film. The shoot was wrapped up in December, and now, Salman is back on the sets for an additional shoot.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Salman Khan, director Apoorva Lakhia and the team are doing patchwork for the film. At the same time, they’re also adding a few new scenes, some of which feature action. It’s a 15-day schedule.”

The source explained the reason for it, “The patchwork was always intended to be done. The additional filming happened because the makers and Salman realized that those scenes are crucial to the narrative and that they would add to the impact. Salman doesn’t want to leave any stone unturned and wants to ensure that Battle Of Galwan turns out to be a great experience for the viewers. Accordingly, he wholeheartedly agreed to the additional shoot.”

The source remarked, “Thankfully, the makers also have time, since Battle Of Galwan releases nearly three months away. They are confident that the final product will be ready well before its scheduled release on April 17.”

Meanwhile, the first song of the film, ‘Maatrubhumi’, was unveiled on January 24. It now remains to be seen when the much-awaited theatrical trailer of the film will drop.

Besides Salman Khan, Battle Of Galwan also stars Chitrangda Singh. Salman plays the role of Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu in this film, which is based on a chapter in the book ‘India’s Most Fearless 3’ (2022), authored by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh. The film is inspired by the events of June 15, 2020, when Indian and Chinese soldiers clashed in the Galwan Valley during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mouni Roy walks off stage mid-performance at Haryana event after alleged on-stage harassment | watch video

Actor Mouni Roy has drawn widespread attention after a video surfaced online showing her briefly walking off the stage in the middle of a live performance at a wedding event in Haryana. The incident, which took place in Karnal, became a talking point after Roy shared a detailed account of what led to her decision, describing repeated harassment by members of the audience.

The viral video captures the actress pausing her performance, moving towards the stage exit, and then returning moments later to complete the act. While the clip initially left many speculating about the reason behind her sudden move, Roy later used Instagram Stories to explain the distressing experience that unfolded both before and during her time on stage.

  A post shared by Bollywood Hungama🎥 (@realbollywoodhungama)

According to the actress, the discomfort began as soon as she arrived at the venue. While making her way to the stage, some male guests allegedly crossed personal boundaries under the pretext of clicking photographs, placing their hands on her waist despite her objections. She indicated that she verbally asked them to remove their hands, but the behaviour left her visibly unsettled even before the performance began.

Things reportedly escalated once she was on stage. Roy explained that two men positioned themselves right in front of the stage, making lewd remarks, inappropriate hand gestures and calling out to her in a derogatory manner. When she initially tried to signal them to stop, they allegedly responded by throwing roses towards the stage, turning the situation more hostile rather than diffusing it. This moment, she noted, prompted her to walk off stage mid-performance out of shock and discomfort.

Adding to her distress, Roy pointed out that the stage was elevated, and the men were allegedly filming her from low angles. When others attempted to intervene and ask them to stop, the men reportedly responded with verbal abuse. She also expressed disappointment that neither the organisers nor family members present took steps to remove the men from the front rows, despite the repeated misconduct.

Roy described the experience as humiliating and traumatic, stressing that performers attend such events as invited guests, aiming to contribute to celebrations like weddings. She also highlighted a broader concern, noting that if established actors face such treatment, the situation could be far worse for newcomers in the industry.

The actress’s account resonated with many, including fellow celebrities. Bhumi Pednekar and Tahira Kashyap publicly expressed support by commenting on the video, applauding Roy for speaking up and taking a stand.

The incident has reignited conversations around safety, consent and accountability at public events, with many calling for stricter measures to ensure that artists can perform without fear of harassment.

Dhurandhar actor Nadeem Khan arrested for alleged 10-Year sexual exploitation of domestic worker on false marriage promise

Actor Nadeem Khan, who was recently seen in the film Dhurandhar, has been arrested by Mumbai Police following serious allegations made by his former domestic worker. The case pertains to claims that the actor repeatedly sexually assaulted the woman over nearly a decade, allegedly luring her with a false promise of marriage.

Khan, who portrayed the character Akhlak—cook to the dacoit Rahman—in Dhurandhar, was taken into custody by Malvani Police on Thursday. Officials confirmed that he is currently in police custody as the investigation progresses.

According to police sources, the complainant is a 41-year-old woman who has worked as a domestic help at the residences of several actors over the years. In her statement, she said she first came into contact with Khan in 2015. What began as a professional association allegedly developed into a personal relationship, during which the actor is said to have assured her that he would marry her.

Relying on this assurance, the woman claimed she consented to a physical relationship that continued for nearly ten years. She alleged that the encounters took place both at her residence and at Khan’s home in Versova, with the belief that the relationship would culminate in marriage. However, when the actor allegedly refused to marry her later, she decided to approach the police.

The complainant initially lodged her complaint with Versova Police earlier this month. However, due to jurisdictional reasons, the case was subsequently transferred to Malvani Police. Explaining the transfer, an officer told Mid-Day, “Since the alleged physical relationship took place for the first time at the complainant’s house within the jurisdiction of Malvani police, and the victim resides in that area, Versova Police transferred the case on zero FIR to Malvani police.”

Based on the complaint and preliminary inquiry, Malvani Police registered a case and proceeded with Khan’s arrest. Further investigation is ongoing, and officials are expected to record additional statements and examine evidence related to the allegations.

The development has sent ripples through the industry, particularly given Khan’s recent screen appearance, while authorities stress that the probe will continue in accordance with due process.

EXCLUSIVE: Sajid Khan’s horror flick Hundred goes on floors; stars Yashvardhan Ahuja, Nitanshi Goel

Sajid Khan’s directorial journey began successfully and he delivered three back-to-back hits. After a hiatus, he has once again worn the director’s hat. Bollywood Hungama has learned that the filmmaker quietly began shooting for his next film, titled Hundred. Interestingly, while all his previous films were comic capers, Hundred is a horror flick.

A source told us, “The makers of Hundred began the shoot of the film in Mumbai’s Film City on Friday, January 23. They purposely chose this day to coincide with the commencement of the filming on the occasion of Basant Panchmi.”

Bollywood Hungama has further learned that Hundred marks the launch of Yashvardhan Ahuja, son of Govinda and Sunita Ahuja. Nitanshi Goel, of Laapataa Ladies (2024) fame, has come on board as the female lead.

Hundred is produced by Amar Butala’s Guilty By Association Media and Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms. Amar Butala has earlier produced Sidharth Malhotra-Rashmika Mandanna starrer Mission Majnu (2023) and was the co-producer of Mission Mangal (2019), Kesari (2019), Total Dhamaal (2019), Tubelight (2017), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) etc. He was the associate producer on Himmatwala (2013), which was incidentally also directed by Sajid Khan.

Interestingly, life comes full circle for Sajid Khan. This is because he began his directorial journey by directing one of the shorts in Darna Zaroori Hai (2006), which was also a horror film.

In December 2025, Sajid Khan was in the news after he suffered a foot injury while on a film set. As a result, the director had to undergo surgery. The surgery was successful and this update was provided by Sajid’s sister, Farah Khan.

According to reports, the director suffered a foot fracture on December 27. He was promptly admitted to a hospital in the city, where medical professionals evaluated the injury and advised surgical intervention. Khan underwent the procedure the next day, December 28.

EXCLUSIVE: Vadh 2 trailer to drop digitally on January 27; Luv Ranjan reveals why it’s not a “forced sequel”: “When a small film does well, makers try to make the sequel grand…we haven’t changed the grain”

Vadh 2 is all set to release on February 6 and in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, talented and enterprising producer Luv Ranjan spoke about the Sanjay Mishra-Neena Gupta starrer, when its trailer will be out, what Luv Films stands for, his love for Gurugram’s Cyber Hub and a lot more.

When did you decide that a sequel to Vadh would be a good idea? Jaspal Singh Sandhu sir and I were discussing what to do next. We realized that there can’t be a true sequel as such to this film. The story of the two characters in the first part had come to an end. However, the concept of ‘vadh’ can be revisited by exploring another social evil and how a simple man fights it to protect someone he loves.

With Vadh’s first part, the appreciation was slow, but suddenly, it got a lot of love and also awards. That also motivated us to try for a second part. Jaspal sir cracked a story which we all loved and we felt that its worth doing.

Vadh released when the Drishyam 2 wave was going strong. Also, Bhediya had taken up screens. Avatar: The Way Of Water was released a week later. It's believed that due to the clutter, it perhaps didn’t get its due in cinemas and it became big only when it dropped on Netflix. Meanwhile, Vadh 2 releases on February 6 with minimal competition. Was that a conscious decision? I believe that when a small, sweet film arrives after a barrage of big films, it gets a better reception. There won’t be too much crowd when Vadh 2 releases. That’s important as these kinds of films need time. They can’t be released in a rush. You need a slightly more relaxed time. Once the film gets appreciation, it slowly finds its audience.

It is often said that cinemas can be ruthless in allotting shows to such films. Do you fear about not getting enough shows? I genuinely believe that unless you’re clashing with a big, event film, screen space for this kind of film is not a problem. Realistically speaking, I don’t need 8 shows or I don’t need 2 whole screens in a 4-screen multiplex. We have a huge capacity of theatres and screens right now. So, that shouldn’t be a problem.

Vadh 2 had its grand premiere at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2025, Goa... I couldn’t make but I was told that it received a great reception. It has given us confidence.

When will the trailer be out? It’ll be released digitally on Tuesday, January 27. It has been attached with the prints of Border 2 . Hopefully, everyone will love it!

I guess they would, as part 1 has tremendous goodwill and has been loved by one and all. Also, sometimes, we feel a sequel is forced. We are not getting that feeling with Vadh 2… It’s a very honest film. At times, filmmakers make a sequel to a small film and while doing so, they try to change the grain of the original film. When a small film does well, the makers then try to make the sequel in a grand way. The soul of the film changes. However, we have stuck to the grain. Like Vadh, Vadh 2 also stars Sanjay Gupta and Neena Gupta.

Luv Films’ journey has been interesting. You have not just worked with newcomer directors but also with experienced filmmakers like Hansal Mehta, Mohit Suri etc. and made exciting films with them… We started in 2017 and our first release was in 2018. So, our company is still in its early stages and we are figuring out things. However, we are quite greedy as producers. We want to do all kinds of films. I do want to work with veterans and with those filmmakers whose work I admired and loved. They can do something that I can’t do. They have their own style and signature. But at the same time, I built my career working with newcomers – actors, technicians etc. So, that greed is always there to give a break to new people and explore fresher ideas. At some point in time, somebody supported my career and journey. That is how I became a director. Now, if we are in a position to let somebody find his or her voice, we want to keep doing it.

Many among the moviegoers feel, and I believe in it as well, that there exists a ‘Luv Ranjan genre’ in Bollywood. The recent release, Shashank Khaitan’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari (2025), had characters doing things that were straight out of a Luv Ranjan-directorial. Even the title gave a déjà vu of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018). What were your thoughts when you saw Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari? Shashank and my journey coincided. Uska aur mera sur kayi baar similar hota hai. Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is a Shashank Khaitan title, in my opinion. It is right in the alley of his film, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014). So, I can’t own that (smiles). This happens. A lot of times, we are discussing ideas with fellow filmmakers. That’s when you realize that he or she is also thinking on the same lines. It’s very interesting that at times, someone shares their idea and you tell them that even you have a similar kind of subject. Aur ideas pe toh kisi ka copyright ho nahin sakta. And tonalities aas paas ki mil jaati hi hai. So, when I saw Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, I thought it had trademark Shashank Khaitan stamp and same goes for Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017).

Speaking of your directorial ventures, one location common in your films is Cyber Hub, Gurugram. Thanks to your films, it’s become a must for me to go there or think about it whenever I am in Delhi-NCR… (Laughs) Same happened with me. We grew up in that area. It’s a fun, interesting place. It’s a matter of habit, more than anything else. It’s not like I shot there first and then partied in Cyber Hub. Pehle maine wahaan party ki aur phir realize kiya ki yahaan shoot kar lete hai (laughs).

I also discovered Wenger’s in Connaught Place, Delhi, thanks to its mention in Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. Your films act as Lonely Planet guide-of-sorts for tourists visiting the Capital! (Smiles) These are iconic places. Maybe 100 bakeries better than Wenger’s must have opened in Delhi. But there’s a nostalgia attached to these places. We have been having its cakes since we were children. Swad ki aadat pad jaati hai; isliye pastry wahin se leke aani hoti hai. It happens in Mumbai too. People travel all the way to have a meal in Sardar Pav Bhaji. When you grew up on something, it becomes a habit.

It’ll be three years in March since your last directorial, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar (2023) was released. When can we expect an announcement of your next film? Very soon!

Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal join hands with Nitin Gadkari for Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan 2026

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), under the leadership of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, has launched Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan (SSA) 2026, a nationwide public awareness campaign aimed at promoting responsible road behaviour across India. Lending their voice and presence to the initiative are some of the country’s most prominent personalities, including Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, along with Kay Kay Menon, renowned singer-composer Shankar Mahadevan, and lyricist-composer Swanand Kirkire.

The campaign marks its fourth consecutive year with a grand telethon on CNN-News18, scheduled to take place in Mumbai on January 25. Designed as a high-impact awareness initiative, the event will feature engaging conversations and performances, all focused on driving behavioural change and strengthening public commitment to road safety.

According to official MoRTH data, India recorded 4,87,707 road crashes in 2024, leading to 1,77,175 fatalities—an average of nearly 485 lives lost every day. Alarmingly, over two-thirds of these deaths involved individuals between the ages of 18 and 45, highlighting the urgent need for sustained national awareness. Risk factors such as over speeding, rash driving, dangerous overtaking, jaywalking, non-use of helmets and seatbelts, and delays in providing help during the critical golden hour continue to contribute significantly to road fatalities.

The theme for SSA 2026 is ‘Kartavya’ (Duty), reinforcing the idea that road safety is not just a regulatory issue but a shared civic responsibility. Reflecting this shift, the campaign’s tagline “Parvaah Se, Kartavya Tak” signals a move from concern to conscious action on Indian roads.

This year’s edition is anchored around four key pillars: Kartavya (Duty), Kayda (Discipline), Kavach (Shield), and Kranti (Change)—together aiming to build awareness, promote disciplined behaviour, leverage technology and AI, and enable long-term, community-driven transformation.

Speaking on the initiative, Santosh Menon, Chief Content Officer, Network18, said, “Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan represents a collective commitment to making our roads safer—bringing together government, institutions, industry, media, and citizens on a shared platform of responsibility. This year’s theme, Kartavya, reinforces that road safety is the duty of every citizen. Through collective ownership and sustained behavioural change, we can move from intent to real impact.”

Puneet Singhvi, Chief Strategy Officer, Network18 Group, added, “We applaud the Ministry’s continued leadership in driving this sustained initiative and are committed to amplifying its message, deepening public awareness, and encouraging responsible road behaviour that can significantly reduce preventable crashes and save lives.”

With strong celebrity support and nationwide reach, Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan 2026 aims to go beyond awareness and inspire meaningful action, urging citizens to embrace road safety as a shared responsibility.

The grand telethon will air on CNN-News18 on Sunday, January 25, from 11:00 am onwards.

The hordes of moviegoers, who would venture out to catch the flick, will be in for a surprise during the opening disclaimers. This is because Boman Irani has been mentioned under ‘Special Thanks’. It's sure to make people curious; some might even expect the veteran actor to have a cameo in the film.

Bollywood Hungama has learned that Boman Irani won’t have a special appearance in Border 2. He has been honoured in the opening slate because he lent his voice at the very beginning. The film starts with an explanation of the situation in 1971 in East Pakistan (present-day Bangladesh) and how it led to a full-scale war between India and Pakistan. With his baritone voice and well-written lines, the voiceover has a manifold effect, helping viewers better understand the events that follow.

Border 2 stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty. It is the second part in the Border series; the first film was released in 1997 and was a record grosser. Interestingly, both films were set during the 1971 war but focus on different battles. Border, starring Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna and Kulbhushan Kharbanda, was produced and directed by J P Dutta. As for Border 2, it is produced by J P Dutta (along with Nidhi Dutta and Bhushan Kumar) and directed by Anurag Singh of Kesari (2019) fame.

In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Nidhi Dutta, also the writer of the film, said that J P Dutta was floored by the film. She said, “That was my acid test (laughs). To answer your question, he has seen the film. The conversation we had was very personal, which I won’t speak about. All I can say is that he kept weeping and had tears in his eyes. That was my Oscar!”

Aanand L Rai REACTS to Rs 84 crores lawsuit over Raanjhanaa IP dispute: “I don't think it has any meaning”

Filmmaker Aanand L Rai has responded to a Rs 84 crore lawsuit filed by Eros International Media Ltd, which has accused him and his production company of unauthorised use of intellectual property linked to the 2013 film Raanjhanaa.

Reacting to the legal action, Aanand L Rai described the dispute as a routine business issue and maintained that it does not warrant public speculation. Speaking to NDTV, he said, "These are part of life. When you step into business, such things keep happening. I don't even know why, how, or from where this has come. But I think it is a legal matter, so let the legal people handle it. There is a lawyer on their side, and a lawyer from here will respond too. I don't think it has any meaning. Anyone can say anything about anything at any time. So it's not something to be taken too seriously. It's more for the lawyers to deal with. Since it's a legal matter, I won't speak much about it, but it's nothing serious." Eros Alleges Misuse of Raanjhanaa Intellectual Property Eros International Media Ltd has alleged that Aanand L Rai and his banner, Colour Yellow Media Entertainment LLP, unlawfully used elements associated with Raanjhanaa while promoting Tere Ishk Mein, which released in theatres in November 2025.

The company claims it holds exclusive rights to Raanjhanaa, including copyright, registered trademarks, characters, dialogues, and sequel or remake rights. In its commercial IP suit and interim application, Eros has argued that these protected elements were used without authorisation to suggest a creative or narrative link between the two films.

According to a report by The Times of India, the dispute was triggered by a teaser released in July 2025. Eros has alleged that the teaser featured phrases, visual cues, background score elements, and references that pointed towards the fictional universe of Raanjhanaa. Character Parallels and ‘Spiritual Sequel’ Claims A key point of contention in the lawsuit revolves around character similarities. Eros has claimed that Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub’s character in Tere Ishk Mein closely resembles his role as Murari in Raanjhanaa, both in temperament and narrative function. The company has further alleged that Dhanush’s character in the new film follows a similar emotional trajectory to Kundan Shankar, reinforcing the impression of continuity.

Eros has stated that despite issuing a cease-and-desist notice in July 2025, followed by reminders, the marketing campaign continued to position Tere Ishk Mein as a “spiritual sequel” to Raanjhanaa. Following the film’s release, the company has sought Rs 84 crore in damages, citing copyright infringement, trademark violation, and passing off.

The lawsuit names several defendants, including Aanand L Rai, Colour Yellow Media Entertainment LLP, writer Himanshu Sharma, Super Cassettes Industries (T-Series), and Netflix Entertainment Services India LLP. The matter is currently before the Bombay High Court.

EXCLUSIVE: Border 2 goes the Dhurandhar way; won't have a release in Gulf countries

The first biggie of 2026, Border 2, is all set to release tomorrow, and there’s tremendous excitement for it, as evident by the ticket sales. Not just in India, but it is poised for a healthy opening overseas as well. But those waiting to see the film in Gulf countries or the UAE/GCC belt would be disheartened to know that it would not get a release in the region.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE will not be releasing Border 2. By now, it's given that films which are perceived as having ‘anti-Pakistan’ content don’t get a release in this belt. Yet, the team of Border 2 did make an attempt and sadly, their attempts proved futile. One day is left for release and the hope is still there that they pass the film, though the possibility seems remote.”

The source continued, “Recently, even Dhurandhar was not allowed a release in the same region. However, the makers of Border 2 are not losing sleep over it as they are aware that if the film manages to strike a chord with the moviegoers, the sky would be the limit in terms of its collections. Even Dhurandhar excelled at the ticket window and the money lost due to no release in the UAE/GCC belt didn’t matter. Hopefully, Border 2 will go the same way.”

Past examples

Interestingly, Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 (2023) was also not allowed a release in the Gulf region for the same reason. The 2024 Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter was initially banned in all the Gulf countries, except the UAE (United Arab Emirates). The film's depiction of the Pulwama attack sparked criticism from some sections in Pakistan, with accusations of the film promoting an ‘anti-Pakistan’ agenda and ‘exploiting a sensitive issue’.

Shockingly, a day later, even the UAE suspended its release in its territory. Following this, the makers of Fighter submitted the re-edited version of the film to the UAE ministry after removing some ‘problematic’ scenes and dialogues. However, the UAE ministry rejected the re-edited version of Fighter too.

In 2025, the Akshay Kumar-starrer Sky Force and the John Abraham-starrer The Diplomat were banned in several countries of the Middle East due to concerns over their content. Both these films also dealt with Pakistan.

Article 370 (2024), which was based on the revocation of a controversial article in Kashmir, was also refused certification in GCC. Tiger 3 (2023), starring Salman Khan, was banned in Oman, Kuwait and Qatar.

The Kashmir Files (2022) was banned in several Gulf states. UAE initially banned it too but later, it cleared it with an adults-only certificate.

EXCLUSIVE: CBFC clears Border 2 with NO dialogue or action cuts; warship name changed to Kavach; flag visuals removed in war plane scenes

The first biggie of the year, Border 2, is all set to release in two days from now, on January 23, and the excitement is tremendous. The censor process took a while but fortunately, the censor certificate was handed over to the makers earlier today, on Wednesday, January 21. In this article, Bollywood Hungama will exclusively focus on the cut list of the war drama.

The good news is that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has not asked for any cut in dialogues or in the action scenes. Hence, even the action scenes have been left untouched.

However, the CBFC did ask for minor changes. The makers were asked to add the actual name of Fateh Singh for Sunny Deol's character in the credits. The Indian flag's visuals on the war plane were replaced as per the guidelines, wherever they occurred in the film. The warship's name was replaced with ‘Kavach’. The duration and font size of the information about the warriors were increased.

As asked by the makers, the documents available in the public domain were submitted to the members of the Examining Committee of the CBFC. Finally, the makers were asked to cross-check whether the emblem shown on the shoulder was correct. The producers confirmed that the depiction is indeed correct and that they confirmed the same with the army as well as the family of Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya (played by Varun Dhawan).

Once the changes were made, Border 2 was passed with a U/A 13+ certificate. The fact that it has not been given a 16+ rating proves that the film might not be as disturbing or gory. The length of the film, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 199.07 minutes. In other words, Border 2 is 3 hours, 19 minutes and 7 seconds long.

Border 2 stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty and others. It is directed by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar of T-Series and J P Dutta and Nidhi Dutta of J P Films. It is directed by Anurag Singh.

Adil Hussain replaces Milind Soman in Anshuman Jha's Lakadbaggha 2: The Monkey Business

In a significant casting update that reflects the evolving nature of cinematic universes, acclaimed actor Adil Hussain has come on board Lakadbaggha 2: The Monkey Business, replacing Milind Soman in the role of the sensei in the much-anticipated sequel scheduled for a release later this year.

Globally, audiences are accustomed to seeing iconic characters reimagined by different actors—be it James Bond, Superman, or Spider-Man. Indian cinema is now stepping into similar territory, and the Lakadbaggha universe is at the forefront of this shift. Billed as the world’s first animal lover vigilante universe, Lakadbaggha wrapped the shoot of its sequel in June 2025, following an ambitious scale-up after lead actor Anshuman Jha also took charge behind the scenes.

Best known internationally for his work in Life of Pi, Adil Hussain steps into a role that has been significantly expanded in the sequel. Lakadbaggha 2: The Monkey Business promises a sharper, darker, and more action-heavy narrative, with the sensei character playing a pivotal role in the protagonist’s journey.

The film positions itself as a martial arts action spectacle with a formidable international ensemble, featuring martial arts legends Sunny Pang (Headshot, Havoc) and Dan CChupong (OngBak). The Indian cast includes Sarah Jane Dias, Vikram Kochar, and Anshuman Jha, who reprises his role as Arjun Bakshi, the ordinary man turned animal-loving vigilante.

Speaking about the casting, Adil Hussain said, "Watching Lakadbaggha-1 was so inspiring. It felt like someone was finally making a film that stood up for the rights of animals—something we haven’t seen in decades, perhaps since Haathi Mere Saathi in the seventies. I also had the good fortune of working with Anshuman Jha, both under his direction and as a co-actor. The martial arts training and action sequences were challenging, but Anshuman has been incredibly supportive and generous throughout the process. I’m truly grateful to be part of the Lakadbaggha franchise."

Adding another layer to its expanding mythology, the Lakadbaggha comic book universe, launched last year, continues to grow in parallel with the film franchise, further cementing its ambition as a multi-format Indian action universe with a global outlook.

Lakadbaggha 2: The Monkey Business is slated for a mid-2026 release, marking the next chapter in a franchise that blends action, conscience, and animal welfare into a distinctive cinematic identity.

Will War Heats Up: Delhi HC hint clears way for forensic test in Sunjay Kapur estate battle

The high-stakes inheritance drama surrounding late industrialist Sunjay Kapur just got spicier. On Tuesday, the Delhi High Court dropped a remark that could dramatically change the course of the long-running legal battle over Kapur’s vast estate — and it doesn’t bode well for secrecy.

Since November, Sunjay’s children with Karisma Kapoor - Samaira and Kiaan Kapur have been demanding a forensic scrutiny of the Will involving Sunjay’s business empire worth over Rs 30,000 crores, pointing to alleged inconsistencies in the document.

On Tuesday, Delhi HC registrar (judicial) Gagan Deep Jindal made it clear that “any party can inspect any document,” citing a September 10 High Court order. The observation has effectively signalled that inspection — and possibly forensic testing — of Sunjay Kapur’s disputed Will, so far fiercely opposed by his third wife Priya Kapur, may soon become inevitable.

It was pointed out that as per paragraph 8 of the September 10, 2025 order, inspection must be allowed to either side.

Still, counsel for Priya Kapur and Azarias sought to argue the maintainability of Samaira and Kiaan’s application. The Plaintiffs lawyers countered by pointing out that Justice Jyoti Singh had already clarified in the September 10 order that inspection is permitted. They also cited another Joint Registrar order allowing inspection in a separate case — a position the registrar agreed with.

The defence then sought a short adjournment, and the Joint Registrar fixed February 5 for further arguments and disposal of the application.

At the heart of the storm is the Will itself. Its authenticity, Sunjay Kapur’s signature, and the circumstances under which it was prepared have all been questioned. The document names Priya Kapur as the sole beneficiary, while excluding Kapur’s two children and his mother, Rani Kapur — a detail that has fuelled intense scrutiny.

Adding another layer of intrigue is Shradha Suri Marwah, named as executor in the Will. She was unaware of her appointment as executor and received the Will by email from an Aureus Group official, Dinesh Agarwal.

Taking note of these unresolved questions, the registrar granted Marwah a “final 10 days” to file her rejoinder, signalling that her role will now face close judicial examination. All eyes are now on February 5, when the courtroom drama resumes.

Resul Pookutty refutes AR Rahman's communal remark, "He shouldn't have said that. I have never faced anything like that in my entire career"

Oscar winning sound designer has much common in A R Rahman. They both won Oscars for Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire and they are both Muslim.

So, has Resul also felt the “communal thing” that Rahman says he has experienced?

Said Resul, “He shouldn’t have said that. I have never faced anything like that in my entire career. I think film industry is one sector where such thoughts haven’t gone deep rooted and we see things way beyond sectarian thoughts. I’m very proud of that aspect of my industry.”

Defending Rahman’s remarks Resul Pookutty said, “If you listen to what he said about this is, when he was removed from projects he ‘heard’ whispers from people referring to it as ‘that might be communal’. Now what he said is what people told him. In the same breath he said, people are too mature to not see things beyond all these factors. It seems we are very quick to pin Rahman down. I think he said things with sincerity. Let’s not crucify him for what he felt about the situation at the moment when he was being asked about it.”

Randeep Hooda becomes investor for health and wellness brand TeinPro, marks foray into entrepreneurship

Actor Randeep Hooda has taken his first step into entrepreneurship by joining as an investor in TeinPro, an Indian health and nutrition brand focused on clean, everyday protein solutions. The move reflects Hooda’s long-standing interest in disciplined living and mindful health choices, rather than a conventional celebrity business association.

Founded by Chinmay Barik, Raghav Gupta and Kshitij Shokeen, TeinPro positions itself as a wellness brand aimed at addressing everyday nutritional gaps, particularly protein deficiency in Indian diets. The company currently offers protein and energy bars designed for people with active routines, long workdays, or those seeking balanced nutrition without extreme fitness messaging.

Speaking about his association with the venture, Hooda explained that his decision was rooted in personal alignment rather than commercial intent. “I’ve never been someone who believes in attaching my name to things casually. For me, any association off screen has to feel honest and reflective of how I live my life,” he said.

Hooda shared that his interaction with the founding team played a key role in his decision. “When I interacted with the founders, Chinmay, Raghav and Kshitij, I connected with the simplicity of their thinking. They weren’t trying to sell extremes or push a fitness fad,” he noted. According to the actor, what stood out was the brand’s focus on everyday nourishment suited to Indian lifestyles.

Highlighting the relevance of the product in a local context, Hooda added, “The innately Indian diet does not meet the necessary requirement of protein intake that one needs daily. What stood out to me was how the protein and energy bars are positioned, not just for people who train intensely, but also for those who have long workdays, active routines, or simply want to make better food choices.”

He further emphasised the importance of simplicity and balance in nutrition. “The idea of creating something clean, with no added sugar or preservatives, and keeping the emphasis on balance rather than excess, felt very natural to me. Protein doesn’t need to be intimidating or complicated. It can and should be a part of daily life,” Hooda said.

Known for physically demanding and restrained performances in films such as Sarbjit, Highway and Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, Hooda’s career has often reflected a focus on discipline and intent—qualities that now extend to his entrepreneurial choices. His role at TeinPro is that of an investor, backing what he describes as a thoughtful and sustainable idea rather than an endorsement-driven partnership.

SCOOP: Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand LOCK Christmas 2026 release for King; Announcement on the way

After the historic success of Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand are reuniting for the second time on King. The film rides on a stellar star-cast with Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Jaideep Ahlawat, Arshad Warsi, Suhana Khan and Abhay Verma among others. Over the last few days, there has been a historic buzz around the release date of this tentpole actioner.

Bollywood Hungama is bringing to all the readers an exclusive scoop on King. Reliable sources have confirmed that Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand have locked a Christmas 2026 release for King. "The duo of SRK and Sid were brainstorming several options for their release, and the two in the forefront were - December 4 and December 25. After weighing all options, they have locked a Christmas 2026 release for their action packed entertainer."

The source also informed us further that the film is skipping the iconic December 4 window due to Ramayana. "SRK and Sid are clear in maintaining a gap from Ramayana, which could go on to record a historic business. They don't want to come and hurt the business of this divine saga in any way, and hence have locked a Christmas 2026 release. This ensures a gap of 45 days between Ramayana and King, giving both the films the breathing space that they deserve."

With a Christmas release, SRK will be enjoying an open run at the box office, as no Hindi film is slated to arrive in that coveted window. There is Avengers: Doomsday a week before, but Hollywood films are frontloaded and for the Hindi cinema audience, there's nothing that can top the experience of watching a Shah Rukh Khan film on the big screen."

An official announcement for the release date of King is expected to be made in the coming week.

Anil Kapoor to duel with Jr NTR in Prashanth Neel’s Dragon

Prashanth Neel’s action drama Dragon just got its North Indian tadka. Anil Kapoor has joined the cast in a prominent role. Anil is apparently playing the antagonist.

To cast a Bollywood actor opposite an A-lister Telugu actor has become quite the thing. It started with Neil Nitin Mukesh, followed by Bobby Deol in several Telugu films.

About Anil Kapoor in Dragon, the film’s team is quite tightlipped about his role. However, a source close to the development revealed that Anil would be making an appearance at a pivotal juncture in the narrative.

“It is a brief but very important character, and Anil has agreed to do it for NTR’s sake,” the source informed.

Eros seeks Rs. 84 crores in damages from Aanand L Rai, Colour Yellow for allegedly projecting Tere Ishk Mein as ‘spiritual sequel’ to Raanjhanaa

Last year, Aanand L Rai and Eros International locked horns after Eros re-released Raanjhanaa (2013) with an AI-altered ending. Now, in 2026, the dispute between the two parties have flared up again, this time over the Dhanush-Kriti Sanon starrer Tere Ishk Mein (2025). It has emerged that Eros International Media has filed a commercial IP suit in the Bombay High Court. The banner has accused Aanand L Rai and his production house, Colour Yellow Media Entertainment LLP, of trademark infringement and copyright infringement.

Eros has alleged that Tere Ishk Mein was deliberately projected as a ‘spiritual sequel’ to Raanjhanaa without permission. As per a report in Bombay Times, Eros has also sought damages of Rs. 84 crores. The report adds that apart from Aanand L Rai and Colour Yellow, the suit also names T-Series, writer Himanshu Sharma and OTT partner Netflix.

In its petition, Eros has stated, “The Plaintiff is the producer and exclusive owner of all intellectual property rights in the highly successful Hindi language film ‘Raanjhanaa’ including without limitation… copyright, registered trademark rights in ‘Raanjhanaa’, character rights including in ‘Kundan Shankar’ and ‘Murari’, and remake, prequel and sequel rights.” Eros has claimed that these rights were misused while promoting Tere Ishk Mein.

As per the report, one of the main triggers was the announcement video of Tere Ishk Mein, which carried lines like ‘From the world of Raanjhanaa’. Eros has further claimed that the teaser used footage, background score and music from Raanjhanaa, even though Eros no longer owns the music rights.

Another key point raised by Eros is that Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub’s character appears very similar in both films. The suit reportedly states, “Murari, portrayed by Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub, in both films, is a sharp-witted friend whose perspective adds conscience to the plot… The Respondents’ unauthorized reproduction and commercial exploitation of these characters… constitute a clear violation of the Applicant’s exclusive rights.”

The suit also alleges that Shankar, the protagonist of Tere Ishk Mein, closely mirrors Raanjhanaa’s lead character Kundan, with similar emotional beats, themes and overall arc.

The notice further mentions that Eros issued a cease-and-desist notice on July 25, 2025, followed by reminders in September. Accordingly, references to Raanjhanaa were removed from the film’s promotional material. However, Eros has claimed that once they watched Tere Ishk Mein, they still found “extensive” copyright and trademark violations, and alleged that the film continued to be positioned as a “spiritual sequel.”

Sanjay Dutt spotted with Tesla Cybertruck on Mumbai roads

Veteran Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt was recently spotted behind the wheel of a Tesla Cybertruck on the streets of Mumbai — a rare sight that has grabbed attention from both automobile enthusiasts and cinephiles. The striking appearance of one of the world’s most futuristic electric vehicles alongside one of India’s most iconic stars has ignited discussions across social platforms.

The Tesla Cybertruck — known for its angular, stainless-steel design and electric-pickup performance — is not officially on sale in India yet. The truck seen in Mumbai carries Dubai registration plates and is believed to have been imported using a Carnet permit, a common route that allows vehicles to be temporarily brought into India without paying hefty customs duties and taxes. Once the permit period ends, the vehicle must be re-exported.

Footage shared on social media shows Dutt emerging from the left-hand-drive Cybertruck, confirming that the vehicle was brought in from outside India. With its bold exterior and futuristic presence on urban roads, the Cybertruck is already turning heads among fans and EV communities alike.

The Cybertruck is known internationally for its high-capacity battery options, potent acceleration — reportedly reaching 0–100 km/h in under 3 seconds in top variants — and distinctive haulage capabilities, features that make it a standout among electric vehicles globally.

Speaking of Dutt’s professional front, he is currently seen in Dhurandhar, which was released on December 5, 2025, and The RajaSaab, which was released a couple of weeks ago.
