Salman Khan confirms doing a film with Karan Johar; says, “Karan Johar ka phone aaya…”

Before the release of Salman Khan's movie Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan in April, Bollywood Hungama had reported that Salman Khan was discussing a new project with filmmaker Karan Johar. More recently, we were the first to inform you that the said film would be helmed by Shershaah director Vishnu Vardhan. According to a reliable source in the film industry, Salman Khan was reviewing scripts and expressed interest in one from Dharma Productions for a 2024 Eid release. However, now in latest episode of Aap Ki Adalat, Salman confirmed the same.

During an interview with Rajat Sharma on Aap Ki Adalat, Salman was asked about his collaboration with Karan, to which he nodded yes and confirmed that they will be working together on a new film. Salman Khan mentioned that he received a call from Karan Johar offering him a film, and also shared that Aditya Chopra had approached him for a movie. He said, “Ab Karan Johar ka phone aaya ki ek film hai. These are the big producer-directors who want to work with me. I also want to work with them. These all began to happen since the past 10 years, uske pehle no one approached me.”

Earlier, a source had informed Bollywood Hungama, “Talks between the two have been going on for a while; in fact, the latest update is that Shershaah director Vishnu Vardhan has apparently been finalized to direct the venture. Though the proverbial dotted line is yet to be signed between all concerned parties, progress has been steady.” Ask for details on the film and the source continues, “The film will see Salman Khan and Karan Johar coming together after a gap of 25 years, though there were reports that the actor had signed on for Shuddhi, the venture never really panned out. Given this fact, and of course the fact that the venture would release on Eid, the makers are sure to pull out all stops to ensure its grandeur.”

Salman Khan and Karan Johar had earlier worked together in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. This will mark as their second collaboration after 25 years.

While currently Salman Khan is enjoying the success of his recent release Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, the forthcoming venture with Karan is said to still be in the nascent stages of development. Interestingly, besides this venture Salman will also be seen later this year in the YRF spy universe film Tiger 3, that is directed by Maneesh Sharma and Siddharth Anand's Tiger vs Pathaan.

Jiah Khan Suicide case: Court claims Rabia Khan has raised ‘suspicion’ on herself

On Friday, the final hearing on the Jiah Khan suicide case (2013) was held and the court passed the order in favour of the Pancholis by acquitting Sooraj Pancholi of all abetment charges. While Rabia Khan asserted that the verdict was wrong and even issued a statement about moving the High Court, the Special CBI court observed that Rabia, herself, has been responsible for raising suspicion on her owing to her allegations.

Rabia Khan not only accused Sooraj Pancholi of abetting her daughter Jiah Khan’s suicide but has also asserted several times to the media, that her daughter was murdered. However, the court has dismissed her claims stating that Khan even blamed the agencies like CBI for not conducting appropriate investigation. "The complainant in her evidence directly blamed both the investigating agencies stating that they had not conducted a proper and correct investigation. By giving such open contradictory evidence, the complainant himself has destroyed the case of the prosecution," the court stated in its order.

The court, in its order, observed that the prosecution’s case clearly defined Jiah Khan’s case as suicide but Rabia’s constant claims about the incident being a murder, not only contradicted the prosecution’s case but also destroyed it. Furthermore, the court also maintained that despite the handicap evidence, the prosecution managed to lead the case but, in the end, the paucity of the evidence is what led to the order of acquittal.

The court mentioned that disowning of statements has led court to believe that Rabia raised suspicion on everyone except herself. "When expert witnesses gave their opinion regarding cause of death of the deceased as suicidal, the complainant took exactly contradictory view stating that doctors have given a wrong opinion. The complaint raised doubts even on the doctor who conducted post-mortem examination. The complainant raised doubts on everyone except herself. The evidence given by the complainant is found to be full-fledged with improvements and constrictions," the order said.

The court has also questioned the evidence which included the letter that was submitted on the court allegedly ‘written by Jiah Khan about her failing relationship with Sooraj Pancholi’ claiming that its authenticity cannot be proved and along with that, the court also questioned the delay in the submission of FIR.

Rani Mukerji locks her next film; venture to be directed by Vaibhavi Merchant?

In March, Rani Mukerji was seen on the big screen in the film Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway, and even received some highly positive feedback for her performance. While the actress is still enjoying the success of the film, we hear that Rani has already moved on to her next venture. If that we hear is true, then apparently Rani Mukerji has locked her next film which will be directed by friend Vaibhavi Merchant.

“Yes, Rani Mukerji has decided on her next venture. It will be a small budget film produced by Yash Raj Films itself. Interestingly, the venture will be directed by Rani’s good friend Vaibhavi Merchant,” reveals a well-placed industry source to Bollywood Hungama. Ask for details on the script and story of the venture and the source reveals, “Right now it is still too early to say anything, besides the entire team is keeping details under tight wraps.”

While it is certainly heartening to know, that Rani has locked her next cinematic venture there has been no official talk about the same. However, another source claims, “There are projects but nothing has been greenlit as such, and nothing has been locked as her next venture.”

The Crew shoot update: Kriti Sanon heads to Pune for the next schedule!

Kriti Sanon is running a busy schedule as she has now gone on to Pune for the next schedule of her upcoming film The Crew. The actress was spotted at the airport while on her way where she donned an absolutely casual attire giving us major goals for a perfect airport look.

On the work front, the 32-year-old actress was last seen in Shehzada, co-starring Kartik Aaryan. The duo collaborated for the second time. Speaking of its performance, the Rohit Dhawan directorial performed poorly. However, she has a bunch of projects in her kitty. She will be next seen in Om Raut’s much-awaited Adipurush opposite Prabhas. The forthcoming film, backed by T-series, will be released on June 16 this year. 

Besides this, she also has Ganapath opposite Tiger Shroff. The ensemble star cast of it will also feature Amitabh Bachchan in a cameo. It is slated to release on October 20. 

Talking about The Crew, besides Kriti, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tabu will be headlining the project. Directed by Rajesh Krishnan, it is backed jointly by Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor. The makers of the film have not revealed the details of its release, as of now.

Over the last 2 years, the plot of Jawan has been kept under wraps and the only aspect circulating was the USP of Shah Rukh Khan in a double role. Several speculations have come out in the media about the plot and probable places from where the film is inspired except for the real source of content.

According to sources close to the development, Shah Rukh Khan led Jawan is inspired by Amitabh Bachchan's Aakhree Raasta, which in itself was an official remake of a Tamil film, Oru Kaidhiyin Diary led by Kamal Haasan. "Akhree Raasta and Oru Kaidhiyin Diary featured Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan in a double role of a father and son. Similarly, Jawan features Shah Rukh Khan in a double role of a father and son. Much like Akhree Raasta, Jawan is also a revenge story with the same conflict points," informed a source to Bollywood Hungama.

Atlee is a big fan of the Kamal Haasan original and has sourced the core part of the story from Oru Kaidhiyin Diary. "However it's not a remake but an inspiration. Atlee has taken the core plot and come out with a new story for today's audience. The emotions remain the same, but the treatment is very modern," the source told us further.

Jawan is confirmed to release on June 2, 2023 and more aspects of the plot will be clear in the days to come. Whether it is an official remake or a mere inspiration is also an aspect that will be clear but the characters, their traits, and trajectory are definitely in sync with the world of Oru Kaidhiyin Diary.

Sooraj Pancholi releases official statement after acquittal in Jiah Khan suicide case; says, “It took a lot of courage to face the world with such heinous allegations”

In 2013, Jiah Khan, a Bollywood actress, was discovered dead at her residence in Mumbai's Juhu. Following the discovery of a note left by Jiah Khan, her boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi, son of actor Aditya Pancholi, was arrested for abetment to suicide weeks later. After a decade, a special CBI court in Mumbai acquitted Sooraj Pancholi of all charges in the Jiah Khan suicide case due to insufficient evidence.

While Jiah's mother Rabia Khan stated that she would continue fighting for her daughter and not lose faith in the judiciary, Sooraj Pancholi has released an official statement on the matter. In his statement, Pancholi says, “The Verdict has taken 10 long painful years and sleepless nights, But today I have not only won this case against me but I have also won my dignity and confidence back, it took a lot of courage to face the world with such heinous allegations, I hope and pray to God that nobody goes through what I have gone through at such a young age.”

He further added, “I don’t know who will give me these 10 years of my life back to me, but I am glad that this has finally come to an end not only for me but especially for my family. There is nothing bigger than peace in this world.”

Besides his official statement, hours after the verdict, Sooraj took to his Instagram handle and reacted by dropping an image on the story section along with a caption reading, “The Truth Always Wins.”

For the unversed, Jiah Khan's family discovered a six-page letter written by the actress at their home after her death. The letter detailed her experiences of being cheated on, raped, and subsequently undergoing an abortion. Sooraj was facing the charge under section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code.

Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 to be taken off-air soon, new show with Nakuul Mehta and Disha Parmar in the works: Report

Nakuul Mehta and Disha Parmar are two actors in the Indian television industry who have captured the hearts of viewers with their on-screen chemistry. The duo was last seen together in the popular show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 and has been receiving immense praise for their performances. When the duo decided to quit the show, it left many of their fans heartbroken. However, it seems like Nakuul and Disha are all set to share the screen space once again for an upcoming Sony TV show. 

Yes! You read it right. If a report by Indian Express is something to go by, then the ongoing track of Bade Achhe Lagte Hain will be wrapped up soon and the show will be taken off-air. After the conclusion of their current show, a new romantic story with Nakuul Mehta and Disha Parmar will be introduced. The report further stated that it is still undecided by the makers whether the new show will be titled Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 3 or if it will be a completely new program.

An official announcement regarding the show's details is expected to be made soon, followed by the release of a promotional video. The report quoted a source saying, “Nakuul and Disha weren’t keen on playing older characters and thus decided to step out of Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. Given fans have been wanting to see them back, the makers decided to put them together in another show. The love story will have them play Ram and Priya once again, but with a new plot and storyline.” 

Having said that, it is worth mentioning here that during the premiere of U-Turn, Nakuul had hinted that he would be returning to the screen soon. He informed the media that there are several things in the works, and he would be sharing news about them in the near future.

Mani Shankar’s 55-foot holographic Hanuman statue inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Hyderabad

The evening of April 25 saw a 3D laser extravaganza like none other. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the event online, as the 55-foot giant Hanuman Statue at the Seetaramaswami Temple in Hyderabad came alive before a stunned audience.

The show was produced and presented by T S Pattabhiraman, trustee, Sri Seetharamaswami Temple Trust. The crowds were ecstatic. They saw Lord Hanuman roar into life in a manner that was purely the stuff of dreams. This laser projection mapping show was a culmination of years of effort in understanding classical religious art forms in the language and metaphor of high technology.

Filmmaker, tech expert and Guinness Book of World Records holder Mani Shankar (16 December, Tango Charlie and Knock Out) visualized, designed and directed the 3D Laser Projection Mapping show.

Mani Shankar describes his effort as ‘Re-imagining divinity with reverence’. He said, “There’s a concept known as Praana Pratishta in Hindu ritualism, where a statue metaphorically comes to life by performing the correct procedures. What we have done in this show is to re-imagine that in visual emotive terms. As they watch, if people feel an added wave of bliss and reverence to Lord Hanuman, our efforts have borne fruit.” This is the first laser projection mapping show on a religious icon from Kerala.

Mani Shankar and his team are Mobile 3D Lifesize holography experts, for which he holds the Guinness World Record. They also work with AI integrated Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality.

Barkha Bisht confirms divorce with Indraneil Sengupta; ends 13 years of marriage

Barkha Bisht and Indraneil Sengupta, who started their career with television and have also proceeded to films now, recently decided to end their 13-year-old marriage. While rumours of their separation have been doing the rounds since 2021, both the actors have been maintaining silence on the same. However, recently Barkha not only confirmed that she is doing the duties of a single mother now, but also confirmed that her divorce will be through soon.

In a report published by Etimes, Barkha Bisht said, "Yes, our divorce should come through soon. This has been one of the toughest decisions of my life.” Although the actress refrained from divulging details of her separation from Indraneil Sengupta, she added, "I am a single mother and Meira is my priority. On the work front, I have been doing interesting projects in the OTT space. I am open to good projects in TV and films, too.”

For the unversed, Barkha Bisht and Indraneil Sengupta met each other on the sets of television show Pyaar Ke Do Naam – Ek Radha Ek Shyam which aired on Star Plus. The couple tied the knot in 2008, two years after their courtship.  The couple, who has also been a part of reality shows, have an 11-year-old daughter named Meira.

On the work front, Barkha recently featured in the web series Hunter Tootega Nahi Todega co-starring Suniel Shetty and Esha Deol. The actress has also been a part of a few Bengali films. On the other hand, Indraneil Sengupta, who has been a part of several shows on television, has been a part of Bollywood films like Kahaani, and the recent Doctor G, Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga, among others. John Abraham makes a return to YRF’s Dhoom franchise

The popular franchise Dhoom has seen a number of big star names being attached to it. After the first instalment in the franchise saw John Abraham and his bike make a statement, the second witnessed Hrithik Roshan and his disguises, while the third featured Aamir Khan in a never before seen avatar. Not surprisingly, a number of rumours have been doing the rounds about the casting for the fourth instalment in the franchise with some claiming that it will feature Shah Rukh Khan as the main villain. However, while there has been no update on this development, a new topic of discussion has been John Abraham’s return to the Dhoom franchise.

Commenting on the same a well-placed industry source informed Bollywood Hungama, “Earlier this year John Abraham broke the mould with his performance in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan. His rendition of the main villain certainly created waves, and the audience too loved his performance. So if Yash Raj Films is looking to cast him yet again in a negative role it will come as no surprise.” Ask the source whether there is any truth to these rumours and he says, “There could be more truth to it than any other rumour. In fact, for the past couple of days there have been daily meetings at YRF and John has been seen attending these meetings on multiple occasions. If anything is finalized, it will be at one of these meets.”

Interestingly, the source reasons why John Abraham could be returning to the Dhoom franchise further saying, “If you remember, the climax of Dhoom was open ended. There was no clarity on whether John’s character in the film was dead or had he escaped. This uncertainty could be used, to see him make a return to the Dhoom franchise.” While for continuation purposes it will certainly be closed loop, we wonder if the two films will be links with a flashback sequence detailing his character’s whereabouts in the interim.

All said and done, though buzz around John Abraham returning to the Dhoom franchise with Dhoom 4 seems to be gathering steam, an official confirmation on the development is still pending.

Kartik Aaryan pips Ranveer Singh to star in Tezaab remake; official announcement expected soon

Earlier this year in January, Bollywood Hungama had reported that Janhvi Kapoor and Ranveer Singh were in advanced discussions with the makers to feature in the remake of the 1988 film Tezaab. Interestingly, Kabir Singh producer Murad Khetani, who had acquired the remake rights of the film in 2021, was initially keen on casting Kartik Aaryan and Shraddha Kapoor; however, it was later revealed that the film would in fact feature Janhvi-Ranveer pair reprising the roles of Madhuri Dixit and Anil Kapoor from the original. However, as they say, nothing is over till it is over. Now we hear that the film in question has undergone yet another casting change. As per the latest update, Kartik Aaryan seems to have pipped Ranveer Singh to clinch the title role in the Tezaab remake.

Revealing details about the sudden change in the film’s casting, a source in the know revealed to Bollywood Hungama, “Initially the makers of the Tezaab remake were toying with the idea of featuring Ranveer Singh essaying the role of Anil Kapoor in the remake. In fact, a number of reports in the media even claimed that the actor had been finalized. However, it was not meant to be.” Explaining how Kartik stepped in, the source continues, “Kartik Aaryan has previously worked with the producers on Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, and he shares a good rapport with them. When he heard of the casting, Kartik reached out expressing his desire to be part of the venture. Given their past history together and the fact that the film did rather well at the box office, the makers of the Tezaab remake were more than happy to accommodate the actor.”

Revealing a small fact, the source added, “Kartik was already in talks with the makers of the Tezaab remake for a different venture. It was during these talks that he expressed his interest to feature in the movie.”

For now, an official announcement of the cast is awaited, in fact, the makers of the film are expected to make one soon. As for Tezaab, the action romance film starring Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit was released in 1988.

Vikramaditya Motwane reveals that Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar were considered for AK vs AK; reveals that Akshay almost threw him out of his office after hearing the script

2020 saw the closure of theatres due to the Covid pandemic. Hence, this was the year when moviegoers were treated with several films on digital. While some failed to entice, a few of them stood out. A film that comes in the latter category for many moviegoers is AK vs AK. Starring Anil Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap, it was a meta movie where both played exaggerated versions of themselves. The audience gave it a thumbs up for its unusual storyline. The performances were also appreciated, of both Anil and Anurag. Hence, it will be a surprise for readers to know that before Anil Kapoor came on board, Aamir Khan and even Akshay Kumar were considered to play the actor’s part in AK vs AK.

In a long interview with Mid-Day’s editor Mayank Shekhar, Vikramaditya Motwane, director of AK vs AK revealed fascinating trivia. He said the writer Avinash Sampath wrote the film keeping Aamir Khan in mind. When Vikramaditya came on board, he asked him to drop the idea as he felt that Aamir will never sign such a film.

Then, Vikramaditya Motwane and Avinash Sampath approached Akshay Kumar, since like Aamir Khan, he also has the initials, AK. Interestingly, Vikramaditya, at this point, revealed that Akshay almost threw them out of his office after he heard the film’s idea! Vikramaditya said, “There is Akshay Kumar, who we did approach, and it was a very interesting meeting — I mean, he didn’t sort of outrightly say, ‘Get out of my office,’ but it was close enough!”

Later, they approached Shahid Kapoor and this is when reports emerged that the film is titled AK vs SK. It didn’t work out and finally Anil Kapoor was signed. Vikramaditya stated, “For a while, I was making it with Shahid [Kapoor], which kind of happened, and then it didn’t. The [actor] AKs kept changing. The [director] AK, that is Anurag Kashyap, was a constant. He’s a fantastic actor.”

He further spoke highly of Anurag’s acting talent, “I think he is fab. In fact, everybody on the AK set was talking about Anil Kapoor. I think Anurag, especially in the last scene, is incredible. You actually tear up when shit happens to him.”

AK vs AK is the story of an actor and filmmaker who indulge in a public fight. The director gets shunned, as a result, and to get back, he kidnaps the actor’s daughter, who’s also an actor, and films the actor as he goes about to save her child. It was released directly on Netflix on December 24, 2020.

REVEALED: Ananya Panday’s cyber thriller is titled Control; Vikramaditya Motwane reveals that “it is a ‘computer-generated’ movie, flitting between screens”

Ananya Panday will complete 4 years in the film industry on May 10 this year as her debut film, Student Of The Year 2, was released on May 10, 2019. Since then, she has been a part of 8 films and 1 web series and has worked with prominent filmmakers. Earlier this year, she announced that she has signed talented filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane’s film. Nearly a month later, it came to light that the shoot was wrapped up. Vikramaditya Motwane even put up a lovely picture of him hugging Ananya and stating that he’s her big fan. Until now, nothing much was known about the film apart from the fact that it’s a cyber thriller.

Recently, in an in-depth interview with Mid-Day editor Mayank Shekhar, Vikramaditya Motwane unveiled the title of this film. It turns out that his film with Ananya Panday is named Control. He also shared some interesting details about the film, “It’s a ‘computer-generated’ movie, flitting between screens, centred on an Instagram influencer.”

Interestingly, one of Ananya Panday’s forthcoming films, Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, is also about social media. Co-starring Siddhanth Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav, it is produced by Zoya Akhtar and directed by Arjun Varain Singh. Apart from Control and Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, Ananya Panday will also be seen in the much-awaited comic caper, Dream Girl 2, co-starring Ayushmann Khurrana. It was supposed to release on July 7 and a few days ago, the makers announced that it will now release on August 25. Ananya also has a web series, Call Me Bae, in her pipeline.

Coming back to Control, it is jointly produced by Vikramaditya Motwane and Nikhil Dwivedi. As per reports, it also stars Vihaan Samat.

Meanwhile, Vikramaditya Motwane’s ambitious web series, Jubilee, was recently released on Amazon Prime Video, on April 7. It is about the actors, actresses and filmmakers who ruled Hindi cinema in the 1940s and 50s. It had an ensemble cast comprising Prosenjit Chatterjee, Aditi Rao Hydari, Aparshakti Khurana, Sidhant Gupta, Wamiqa Gabbi, Ram Kapoor and others.

Complaint filed against Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his Sprite ad for ‘hurting’ Bengali sentiments

A police complaint has been filed against the CEO of Coca-Cola India and actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui for allegedly hurting the sentiments of the Bengali community. The actor recently featured in an ad for the soft drink Sprite which was originally shot in Hindi. No objection was raised on the Hindi version. However, an advocate has filed a complaint raising issues over the Bengali dubbed version.

As reported by Live Mint, an advocate of the Calcutta High Court, Dibyayan Banerji, who is also the petitioner, said, “The main advertisement by Coca-Cola for its product Sprite was in Hindi. And we have no problems with that. We only have a problem with Bengali dubbing of the ad which is running on various TV channels and websites. Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is laughing at one of the jokes, which says, ‘shoja anguley ghee na uthley, Bangali khali petey ghumiye porey’. In English, it means that if Bengalis don’t get anything easily, they sleep hungry. And this, we think, hurts the sentiments of the Bengali community.”

Banerji further said, “There is nothing offensive in the Hindi advertisement. But it attracts section 66A of the IT Act and also section 153 A of the Indian Penal Code. We also want this type of shallow act and gimmicks to not be promoted in the future.”

The dubbed version of the ad allegedly has a joke which means “If they can't take the ghee out with a straight finger, Bengali sleep hungry.”

Reportedly, the Bengali version has been taken down by the company and said in a note that it “regrets the recent ad campaign for the cold drink and that the company respects Bengali language.”

Diljit Dosanjh fires back at trolls alleging he disrespected the Indian flag at Coachella 2023: 'If you don't know Punjabi then Google it'

The 2023 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival became a huge platform for South Asian artists to take over the stage and enthral music-goers. Punjabi actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh’s enthralling performances on two weekends took over the internet by storm. However, the singer had to fire back at trolls who were spreading edited video of his to allege that he disrespected the Indian flag.

A video of Diljit Dosanjh surfaced online in which he was speaking about a woman waving the Indian flag in the crowd. At the concert, the singer said, “Eh mere Punjabi bhain bhraawan layi, mere desh da jhanda laike khadi aa kudi, eh mere desh layi, negativity ton bacho, music saareyan da saanjha (This is for my Punjabi brothers and sisters, this girl is holding my country's flag. Stay away from negativity. Music is for everyone).”

The video was seemingly edited online and presented online in a way that looked like he disrespected the Indian flag. “So @diljitdosanjh objects when someone waves Indian tricolour during one of his concert in US. Which passport he’s carrying? Republic of KhaIistan? Shame one those Indians who listen to such 2rs artists,” read a comment with the video.

Diljit fired back at the fake news spreading and wrote on Twitter, “DON’T SPREAD FAKE NEWS and NEGATIVITY. Mai Kiha Eh Mere Desh Da Jhanda Hai. Eh Mere Desh Lai.. Means MERI Eh Performance Mere desh Lai. For the past two weekends, Diljit Dosanjh took the Coachella stage in California. The singer became the first Punjabi artist ever to perform at Coachella 2023. Donning a traditional black kurta on one Saturday and white kurta with lungi and turban on second Saturday, he obliterated the stage with many of his hit tracks including ‘Patiala Peg’, ‘GOAT’, ‘Ni Mein LA Nu’ and ‘Vibe’ among others. Diljit Dosanjh addressed the crowd in Punjabi and said “Punjabis have taken over Coachella.”

Diljit Dosanjh is known for his Punjabi music and movies, including the albums Smile, Back 2 Basics, Con.Fi.Den.Tial, G.O.A.T and Moonchild. He has also contributed as a singer to several Bollywood movies.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Diljit Dosanjh recently unveiled the first trailer of his upcoming Punjabi movie, Jodi. Set for May 5 release, the film stars him opposite Saunkan Saunkne actress Nimrat Khaira. He will also be seen in Imtiaz Ali's directorial Chamkila with Parineeti Chopra. The actor has also signed The Crew alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kriti Sanon and Tabu. Shershaah director Vishnu Vardhan to direct Salman Khan in Karan Johar's next

Earlier in April, before the release of the Salman Khan starrer Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, Bollywood Hungama was the first to report that Salman was in talks with filmmaker Karan Johar for an exciting venture that would hit screens in 2024 on Eid. Informing us about the development a well-placed industry source had said that Salman was looking at scripts but had shown keen interest in one from Dharma Productions.

While, at that time details were being kept tightly under wraps, it was learnt that the film in question would be a big-budget entertainer that would do justice to Salman Khan and his Eid release special. Well, now we hear that Salman and Karan have made some headway on the project. A source informed Bollywood Hungama, “Talks between the two have been going on for a while; in fact, the latest update is that Shershaah director Vishnu Vardhan has apparently been finalized to direct the venture. Though the proverbial dotted line is yet to be signed between all concerned parties, progress has been steady.” Ask for details on the film and the source continues, “The film will see Salman Khan and Karan Johar coming together after a gap of 25 years, though there were reports that the actor had signed on for Shuddhi, the venture never really panned out. Given this fact, and of course the fact that the venture would release on Eid, the makers are sure to pull out all stops to ensure its grandeur.”

Further talking about the venture and its eventual release the source continues, “Eid has now become synonymous with the release of a Salman Khan film. It has become a ritual of sorts. This film is being planned for release on Eid 2024. And to ensure its massy appeal and entertainment value who better than Vishnu Vardhan, who has not only directed Shershaah but has in the past given us some rather entertaining films in the south industry.”

While currently Salman Khan is enjoying the success of his recent release Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, the forthcoming venture with Karan is said to still be in the nascent stages of development. Interestingly, besides this venture Salman will also be seen later this year in the YRF spy universe film Tiger 3, that is directed by Maneesh Sharma.

Dahaad teaser: One woman's quest for justice takes centre stage in Sonakshi Sinha starrer show, watch

Prime Video, India’s most loved entertainment destination, today unveiled the intriguing teaser of the upcoming crime drama, Amazon Original series, Dahaad. The series is created by Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar and is directed by Kagti along with Ruchika Oberoi. Produced by Excel Media & Entertainment and Tiger Baby and Executive Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar along with Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar, Dahaad features Sonakshi Sinha, Vijay Varma, Gulshan Devaiah, and Sohum Shah in the lead. 

Dahaad is an 8-part crime drama that follows sub-inspector Anjali Bhaati and her colleagues in a small town police station. It all starts when a series of women are mysteriously found dead in public bathrooms, Sub-Inspector Anjali Bhaati is tasked with the investigation. At first, the deaths appear to be clear-cut suicides but as the cases unravel, Anjali begins to suspect that a serial killer is on the loose. Dahaad marks the digital debut of Sonakshi Sinha in which she plays a fierce lady cop, who strives to solve a gruesome murder case. Aamir Khan and Raveena Tandon to attend Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s radio talk show Mann Ki Baat 100 conclave

Bollywood actors Aamir Khan and Raveena Tandon will be attending Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio talk show Mann Ki Baat conclave in New Delhi on the completion of 100 episodes of the show. For the same, Aamir reached New Delhi's Vigyan Bhawan to attend the national conclave. Raveena will be doing a panel on nari shakti (women power).

As per Indian Express, along with the two actors, sportspersons Deepa Malik and Nikhat Zareen, several journalists, radio jockeys and entrepreneurs will be in attendance for the national conclave. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and MoS for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary will be attending the event for the valedictory session. The event will be inaugurated by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. I&B Minister Anurag Thakur will be the guest of honour.

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan was last seen in the Hindi adaptation of Forrest Gump, Laal Singh Chaddha. It released in August 2022. The actor is yet to announce his next project.

The actor, who is known for his powerful performances in films and TV shows, took to Instagram to share a cryptic message that has left his fans concerned about his well-being. Recently, speaking on the same note, Ronit assured that he is fine while talking about it briefly, however, without mentioning anyone’s name.

If a report by PeepingMoon is something to go by, then Sanjay and Akash are set to star in a patriotic drama film titled Vande Mataram. The film will reportedly be directed by National Award-winning director Dr. Rajesh Mapuskar, who previously directed the Marathi film Ventilator and the Hindi film Ferrari Ki Sawaari.

As per the report, the plot of Vande Mataram is said to revolve around a father and son duo played by Sanjay Dutt and Akash Thosar, respectively. The two are said to have different ideologies but are brought together by a common goal - the love for their country. The film is said to be a tribute to the unsung heroes of India who have sacrificed their lives for the nation.

The film is expected to go on floors soon, with shooting scheduled to begin in Mumbai. More details regarding the cast and crew of the film are expected to be announced in the coming days. Apoorva Lakhia acquires the rights to a chapter from the book titled ‘India's Most Fearless - 3’

Director Apoorva Lakhia is all set to bring forth a brave story of the Indian Army for the silver screen. The director has acquired the rights of a chapter from the book titled ‘India's Most Fearless – 3’ to be adapted into a movie. The story is based on the events that took place between the Indian and Chinese troops at the Galwan region on June 14, 2020 when 200 Indian Soldiers bravely defended their territory against a well-trained force of 1200 Chinese Liberation Army soldiers.

The book is written by seasoned journalists Shiv Aroor, Senior Executive Editor at India Today TV and Rahul Singh, Senior Editor at the Hindustan Times. Both these authors are known for their military affairs journalism. The story and screenplay will be adapted for the film by Suresh Nair in association with Chintan Gandhi and Chintan Shah who will also pen the dialogues.

When asked about their book being turned into a movie, both, Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh shared a joint statement saying, "The Galwan incident is an episode that saw the Indian army suffer terrible loss but they also inflicted an unforgettable wound on a treacherous adversary. We are delighted that our account of the incident - the only first-hand telling of what really happened and the incredible human side of the battle - is now in the very able hands of Apoorva Lakhia for a film that we know will be worthy of those who fought, fell and lived to tell."

Apoorva Lakhia added, "It is my great honour that both Shiv and Rahul trust me with their book. Sidharth Malhotra, Raashii Khanna, Disha Patani starrer Yodha gets a new release date; film to now release in September 2023

Sidharth Malhotra, Raashii Khanna, and Disha Patani will be coming together for the first time in the action-packed entertainer title Yodha. While earlier this year, the actor was seen shooting for the film, now we hear that the makers have finalized a release date for the film and it will be this year right before the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. The date is locked to be September 15, 2023.

Recently it was being said that the film will be releasing in July. However, it seems that the makers have planned to push the release date a little further. Talking about the film, Sidharth Malhotra had earlier revealed that he will be seen in a unique avatar in the film. In a statement, the Shershaah star said, “As an artist, you would want to work on scripts that bring out the best in you. This truly unveiled a newer version of me, which I am very thankful for. The amount of love I have received from audiences and fans is magical. I can't wait to showcase what Yodha has for them.”

On the other hand, Raashii Khanna too had shared her excitement about being a part of a Dharma heroine. The actress, who has earlier shared screen space with the likes of Ajay Devgn and Shahid Kapoor in Rudra and Farzi, will be seen alongside Sidharth Malhotra for the first time and besides that, the film also marks her first collaboration with Dharma Productions. In an earlier statement, the actress had mentioned that she wouldn’t be playing a quintessential heroine in the film but that her role will be that of a headstrong, action-packed character.

Although details about the character Disha Patani is essaying is being kept under wraps, we hear that the Malang actress too will be playing a pivotal role. Directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushka Ojha, Yodha is produced by Dharma Productions in association with Shashank Khaitan and Amazon Prime Video. The film is slated to release on September 15.

Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt has made some hefty property investments in the month of April 2023. The actress has purchased a new house in Bandra worth Rs. 37.80 crore. This is bought by her production house Eternal Sunshine Production Pvt. Ltd.

As per the reports, the property is spread across 2,497 sq ft. The actress paid Rs. 2.26 crore stamp duty and registered the sale agreement on April 10, 2023.

Apart from this, Alia Bhatt gifted two of her flats in Mumbai to her sister Shaheen Bhatt which are worth Rs. 7.68 crore on April 10. It is being reported that the flats are spread across 2,086.75 sq ft in Gigi Apartments in Juhu, Mumbai. A stamp duty of Rs. 30.75 lakh was paid by her.

Hera Pheri 4, the third part of Hera Pheri, starring Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal, is arguably the most awaited film for several moviegoers. Hence, it has been constantly in the news, for both right as well as wrong reasons. There was a lot of fanfare and excitement when the picture from the announcement promo shoot went viral. But the very next day, social media was riddled with criticism as it came to light that Farhad Samji will be directing the comic caper. The anger grew after his web series, Pop Kaun, dropped on Disney+ Hotstar. Many felt it was poorly made and written and feared the worst for their much-awaited film. Hence, ‘Remove Farhad Samji From Hera Pheri’ began trending on Twitter.

And now it has come to light that Hera Pheri 4’s makers are having second thoughts about having Farhad Samji on board. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “There’s too much negativity surrounding Farhad Samji. We have never seen such hate for a director in our lives. There have been Twitter trends to remove him and the makers feel it’s not completely unjustified.”

The source continued, “Farhad also wrote and directed Salman Khan’s latest release, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. The film hasn’t met with a unanimously positive response though the weekend collections have turned out to be respectable. But doubts have been raised about whether he’ll be able to do justice to a film that people are dying to watch. Moreover, Pop Kaun was slammed by one and all while his last directorial, Bachchhan Paandey (2022), also wasn’t appreciated. The distributors and studios who want to tie up with Hera Pheri 4 have also made their apprehensions clear about Farhad.”

The source added, “No decision has been taken but yes, the makers are contemplating whether or not to have Farhad Samji on board. A decision will be taken in a few weeks.”

An industry expert commented, “Farhad Samji as a director, in my opinion, is fine. He knows how to handle scale and grandeur. And there aren’t many directors who can do so in today’s times. He just needs to come up with a better script and dialogues. If that is taken care of, he can do a fine job with Hera Pheri 4.”

Farhad Samji, during an exclusive interaction with Bollywood Hungama as part of the promotions of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, opened up on ‘Remove Farhad Samji From Hera Pheri’. trend He said, “Firstly, when the film has not even been officially announced, toh kaun hai yeh log?” He further said, “We try our best. If anyone has any problem, then we’ll try to rectify it by making better movies and by writing better punches. Our intention is to appeal to audiences of all kinds and provide them with a film that has a combination of romance, masala, action, comedy etc. God has been very kind right from my writing days, and it continues as I turned director. Housefull 4 (2019) is the biggest hit of Akshay Kumar. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022; which he co-wrote) is such a huge success if we take into account the ROI. Ab iske aage kya bolne ka?”

Ravi Dubey welcomes Vivian Dsena in Udaariyaan; shares promo

Udaariyaan, which has been experiencing quite a bit of plot twists and turns, recently witnessed a massive turn in the story when Nehmat (Twinkle Arora) and Ekam (Hitesh Bharadwaj) continue to stay separated. Ekam has now married Harleen (Isha Malviya) in a shocking turn of events and as the families are trying to cope up with this new twist, Nehmat is in dire need of a support system. We wonder if the entry of Vivian Dsena will provide the beloved daughter of Virk family some comfort.

Coming to the new entry, Vivian Dsena, who was last seen in Sirf Tum last year, will return to the small screen with Udaariyaan. A source close to the production house revealed that the team was in search of a popular actor. The source added, “Sargun Mehta, Ravie Dubey, and Vivian Dsena have a long-standing relationship. When the new storyline required a popular actor to join the cast, they decided to approach Vivian. They have planned a grand entry for him.”

Taking to social media, Ravie Dubey confirmed the news and announced the entry of the Madhubala actor along with a short promo. “Was on a sabbatical From social media but had to Come back to welcome my brother #viviandsena to our show #udaariyaan Presenting Vivian Dsena as Sartaj FULLPOWER,” he posted. Talking about his role, the source has revealed that Dsena will be doing a significant cameo for approximately three months, and the decision to extend his role will depend on the audience’s response.

The Kerala Story, produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, to release in theatres on May 5

Producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah has announced the release date of his upcoming hard-hitting social drama The Kerala Story. The film, which stars Adah Sharma in the lead, will be releasing in theatres on May 5. The movie is a sharp take on the global terror outfit ISIS and their activities in the Indian state of Kerala.

Throwing more light on the film’s subject, a statement from the makers said, “The Kerala Story is based on a human tragedy as it unearths the events behind approximately 32,000 women going missing in the Indian southern state of Kerala who are converted, radicalised and deployed in terror missions in India and the world. Directed by award winning filmmaker Sudipto Sen, the film is a heart-breaking tale of women who are victims of this conspiracy that isn’t just limited to Kerala or India, the director had earlier stated that it was his patriotic duty to expose the manner in which thousands of girls were converted and trafficked abroad.”

At the end of 2022, the makers of The Kerala Story brought out the teaser of the film which created a controversy as it face allegations of showing inaccurate events. At that time, Shah had reacted on the same in a chat with Mid-Day and said, “We are making a film on a big tragedy. If I feel that I want to tell this story as a filmmaker, then, discussion on whether I am pro-establishment or not will only reflect an individual’s point of view. As a filmmaker, I only think of the story that touches my heart and moves me enough to want to narrate it.”

The Kerala Story is bankrolled by Sunshine Pictures Private Limited, founded by Shah who is the producer, creative director and the co-writer of the film.

Badshah apologises for hurting sentiments with ‘Sanak’; to remove Lord Shiva’s name and make correction in the lyrics: ‘I would never willingly or unknowingly cause offence to anyone’s sentiments’

Rapper Badshah on Sunday took to Instagram to release a statement after his latest hit track ‘Sanak’ began to receive backlash from certain sections of society for its questionable lyrics. The rapper said that he would never knowingly and willingly hurt anyone’s sentiments and apologized for it.

“It has been brought to my attention that one of my recent releases, Sanak, sadly seems to have hurt the sentiments of some people. I would never willingly or unknowingly cause offence to anyone’s sentiments. I bring my artistic creations and musical compositions to you, my fans, with the utmost sincerity and passion. In light of this recent development, I have taken proactive measures to change some parts of the song and actioned the replacement with this new version on all digital platforms to further avoid hurting anyone,” he wrote on Instagram.

“The replacement process takes a few days before the changes will reflect on all platforms, I request everyone to be patient during this period. As per several reports, Mahakaleshwar Temple’s senior priest in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain district had slammed Bashshah for using the name of Lord Shiva in the lyrics. He asked the rapper to remove the objective bits and also apologise for hurting the sentiments.

Netflix to convert Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s limited series Heeramandi into seasonal show?

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s eagerly-awaited OTT opus Heeramandi is gradually shaping into one of the finest digital experiences originating from Asia. A source close to Netflix describes it as the digital equivalent of K Asif’s Mughal-e-Azam. “Every frame is a work of art. You can’t take your off the screen for even a second. Binge-watching would be a crime. Taking in all that beauty at one go would be humanly impossible.”

It is likely that the episodes won’t be released at one go. “Every episode will be like an individual film. To be devoured in leisure,” says one of Bhansali’s Heeramandi actors , all of whom are under contract to not speak about the series until told to.

Netflix has decided to convert Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s proposed series Heeramandi into a seasonal affair. The first season of eight episodes will air in the second-half of 2023(month and date not yet decided).

Revealing details on scheduling plans a source close to the project informs, “The initial plan was to do a limited series. But everyone felt the series had the potential to be converted into a seasonal event.”

The reason for the delay is reportedly due to the extensive VFX work required for the film. The VFX work is crucial for Dream Girl 2, as the film features Ayushmann Khurrana playing the role of Pooja and Karam. The team doesn't wanna leave any stone unturned to ensure that he is looking seamless and convincing as Pooja.

Urvashi Rautela sends legal notice to Twitter user for spreading fake news about her equation with Agent co-star Akhil Akkineni

Urvashi Rautela started her career in the entertainment industry as a model and later transitioned into acting. She made her acting debut in 2013 with the film Singh Saab the Great and has since then appeared in several Hindi films. She has also worked in a bunch of Telugu-language films. In fact, the release of her latest Telugu film with Akhil Akkineni, Agent, is around the corner. However, a self-proclaimed film critic, Umair Sandhu’s tweet has upset the actress. Reacting to his “false claims”, Urvashi has sent a legal notice to him as well.

For the unversed, a Twitter user, by the name of Umair Sandhu, tweeted that Urvashi called Akhil an immature actor and felt uncomfortable working with him. The tweet went viral in no time and grabbed the attention of the actress. Miffed by the claims, Urvashi decided to take action against him.

Giving out details of the same, on Sunday afternoon, Urvashi took to her verified social media handle and shared a note post, which read, “Defamation legal notice has been served by my legal team. Definitely disgruntled by indecent journalists like you for your spurious/ridiculous tweets. You’re not my official spokesperson. And yes you’re very immature kind of a journalist who made me & my family extremely uncomfortable.”

Bollywood actress Kajol has been making waves lately with her social media presence. With over 10 million followers on Instagram alone, Kajol has become an influencer in her own right. She regularly shares her thoughts on social issues, promotes various causes close to her heart, and interacts with her fans through live sessions and Q&A sessions. Speaking of her latest post, she seems to be miffed with someone.

Hera Pheri 3: After T-Series, now Eros International issues public notice; claims it has the sole and exclusive rights to Akshay Kumar starrer

Bollywood Hungama was the first one to break the viral news in June 2022 that the third part of Hera Pheri is in the offing, as confirmed by producer Firoz Nadiadwala. It led to a lot of excitement among fans as it’s a highly awaited sequel, especially since the first two parts have been loved and have a cult following. In February this year, reports came in that the announcement video of the film has been shot. It broke the internet but the very next day, there was massive criticism when it came to light that Farhad Samji is directing the film. In March, ‘Remove Farhad Samji From Hera Pheri’ trended on Twitter for several days. Some days later, T-Series issued a public notice claiming that the production house is the “sole and exclusive right holder of all copyright of all Music and Audio Visual Song Rights” of the franchise in all mediums.

And now, Eros International, too, has jumped into the fray. As per a notice published in Komal Nahta’s Film Information Magazine, Eros has claimed that it holds the Intellectual Property Rights as well as the rights to the title, digital rights and music rights on a ‘sole and exclusive basis’. And that's not all. Eros also claimed that it has the exclusive rights to Welcome Back (2015).

Further, the notice stated that Firoz Nadiadwala's Base Industries Group owes Rs. 60,07,75,236, inclusive of interest, to Eros International as on April 17, 2023. The notice then claimed that Base Industries Group had agreed that until it doesn't make this payment, Eros International will possess the sole rights to Hera Pheri 3. It also claimed that Nadiadwala had made it clear that it would not create third-party rights or try to release Hera Pheri 3 in India or any part of the world without the consent of Eros International.

Towards the end, the notice emphasized that they have similar rights to all the forthcoming films of Firoz Nadiadwala, including Awara Paagal Deewana 2.

Finally, it requested everyone to refrain from doing any deal with Base Industries Group with regards to Hera Pheri 3.

Singham Again to release on Independence Day 2024, avoids clash with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3

Over the last few years, Rohit Shetty’s cop universe has come alive. All three characters from his cop movies, Singham, Simmba and Sooryavanshi, played by Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar, came together for the first time in Simmba (2018). The trio was then seen in Sooryavanshi (2021), much to the cheers of the crowd.

The 2021 movie also gave an indication that the next cop movie in the franchise will be the Ajay Devgn starrer Singham Again, the third movie in the Singham franchise. It is now learnt that the film will be releasing during the Independence Day of 2024. Co-incidentally, the previous film in the Singham franchise, titled Singham Returns, was also released on Independence Day in 2014.

By choosing this particular date for Singham Again, the makers have advanced the film’s release because it was earlier supposed to release during Diwali 2024. Also, by moving the film’s release, the makers have avoided a clash with the Kartik Aaryan starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, the third film in the franchise. The previous film in the series, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, was one of the handful of hit Bollywood movies of 2022. The third will again see the collaboration between Kartik and director Anees Bazmee.

IIFA and AquaKraft announce Be Water+ve program for Earth Day for water security in India's villages

International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) and AquaKraft on the occasion of World Earth Day announced the launch of a unique Water advocacy and influencer program called Be Water+ve which endeavours to incubate a movement to make India’s villages Water +ve. The program is inspired by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and inspiration of achieving water security by 2047.

The Be Water +ve movement will be a composite of active advocacy addressing water security, on-ground interventions in drinking water, sanitation and  water recycling, community participation and governance, guided by the Ministry of Jal Shakti and several knowledge partners.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister of Jal Shakti, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said, “Looking ahead the need for water is increasing manifold. Bollywood actor Salman Khan has his plate full. After the release of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan on Friday, the actor is busy with the Eid 2023 celebrations. After spending quality time with his family, the actor will head to Dubai for the launch of Aap Ki Adalat.

As per a report in Khaleej Times, Salman Khan will be visiting the Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City on April 25 for the launch of the news talk show. Hosted by journalist Rajat Sharma, Aap Ki Adalat has been one of the longest-running shows on Indian television since 1993. Salman Khan will be joining Sharma in a conversation and it will broadcasted later.

Majid Khan, CEO & MD NKN Media, said, “Ever since NKN Media collaborated with India TV last year, we had the vision to bring this flagship show to UAE in order to give it a local flavour. The Sound of Music rights acquired for Paparao Biyyala's film Music School starring Shriya Saran, Sharman Joshi

58 years after the iconic, Oscar award-winning and only official film adaptation of the classic musical play The Sound of Music, an Indian IAS officer turned filmmaker Paparao Biyyala is gearing up for the release of his debut film ‘Music School, which marks to be the first Indian film to obtain the rights of the classical play.

The timeless classic Broadway production The Sound of Music written and composed by Rodgers, and Hammerstein in 1959, has been etched in the history of popular culture ever since. Over a decade later, Robert Wise presented the first film adaptation of the musical with the same name in 1965 and won five academy awards. Almost six decades later, writer- Director Paparao Biyyala has obtained the official rights of the music for the broadway musical for his debut film “Music School’.

Recreating three songs from the musical- 'Do Re Mi', 'So Long Farewell' and 'Sixteen Going on Seventeen' beautifully woven for different situations in the film Music School, Music maestro Ilaiyaraaja scored the original musical notes by Richard Rodgers by the London Philharmonic Orchestra for their film.

Getting the best team on board, Music School roped in Hollywood choreographer Adam Murray to choreograph multiple songs for the multi-lingual film Music School, in addition, the makers also roped two of India’s best choreographers Chinni Prakash and Raju Sundaram for film to choreograph the other songs.

Music School is a musical narration of the sensitive and prevailing concern of academic pressure subjected to young students by society, parents and teachers. Of eleven songs in the film, three of them have been recreated from The Sound of Music, situationally woven beautifully in the film to suit the sensibilities of the Indian audience.

The grandeur look of the film was captured by ace cinematographer Kiran Deohans. The cast includes Shriya Saran, Sharman Joshi and Prakash Raj in lead roles in addition to debutant Ozu Barua and Gracy Goswamy in critical roles. The other cast comprises Benjamin Gilani, Suhasini Mulay, Mona Ambeognkar, Leela Samson, Bugs Bhargava, Vinay Varma, Sreekanth Iyengar, Vaquar Sheikh, Phani and many other child actors.

Presented by Yamini Films, Hyderabad, this multi-lingual film is shot in Hindi and Telugu, and dubbed in Tamil. It is releasing on 12th May 2023 by PVR in Hindi - Tamil and Dil Raju in Telugu. Bhumi Pednekar aims to clean The Himalayas through an ecological preservation campaign

Climate Warrior Bhumi Pednekar is setting herself on a massive mission to clean The Himalayas! On the occasion of World Earth Day, Bhumi announced that she is partnering with a non-profit, Healing Himalayas, that does extensive and exemplary work towards the preservation of ecology in the mountain range. Bhumi, who is also the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) ambassador, will now become the Goodwill Ambassador of Healing Himalayas! Bhumi’s work with Healing Himalayas will see her travelling to these mountainous regions and participating in cleanliness drives aimed at keeping The Himalayas clean.

Healing Himalayas Foundation is a seven-year-old organization formed to address the problem of garbage in a rather unique way - they are committed to restoring the pristine natural environment of the Himalayas. The organization has taken over the onerous task of cleaning out trash from the picturesque Himalayas. Their primary mission being - to dissolve the problem of waste management by collecting tons of non-biodegradable items discarded by the trekkers or pilgrims and disposing it properly at the base town/city where it can also be recycled.

To handle the collected waste through their cleanup campaigns & multiple panchayats which are a part of our Zero waste villages, they have built five material recovery facilities at locations (Mansari- Kullu district, Rakcham & Pooh village in Kinnaur, Tabo in Spiti & Narkanda in Shimla district) where tourist footfall is quite substantial. All the five facilities are operational and since last year they have collect 4-5 tonnes of non-biodegradable waste daily which is approximately 550 tonnes.

Speaking about this association Bhumi Pednekar said, “The motto of Healing Himalayas ‘Don't Wait for Change, Be the Change’ truly resonated with me. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah in trouble as actor Shailesh Lodha sues makers for non-payment of dues

Shailesh Lodha, a popular actor and comedian known for his role as Taarak Mehta in the popular Indian sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC), has filed a complaint against Asit Modi's production house, Neela Telefilms. Lodha has sued the production house over alleged non-payment of dues and breach of contract. For the unversed, Shailesh called it quit in 2022 after being an integral part of TMKOC for 14 years. Reportedly, Lodha was waiting for more than six months to clear his dues of over a year. As per the latest buzz, Shailesh has decided to take the legal route.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, in the first week of March, Shailesh Lodha lodged a complaint against Asit Modi's production company for his unpaid dues and filed a lawsuit. Due to Modi's inability to clear his debts, Lodha approached the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) and commenced a corporate insolvency resolution under section 9. The hearing for the case has been scheduled for May. 

When the portal reached out to Lodha for a comment on the same, the Waah Bhai Waah host asserted, “The matter is subjudice and under court, so I’ll not comment anything on this.” Meanwhile, the report also quoted Sohil Ramani, project head of TMKOC, saying, “There isn’t much to say that hasn’t been said earlier. Shailesh Lodha has been like a family only. When he left we respected that. And on numerous occasions through email and on the telephone we have requested him to come to the office to sign all required paperwork and take his remaining enumeration.”

On the show, Lodha was last seen in April last year. A couple of months after his exit, actor Sachin Shroff replaced Shailesh.

RIP Pamela Chopra: Amitabh Bachchan pens emotional note, says “One by one they all leave us and all left with the pleasant times spent”

Late producer-director Yash Chopra's wife Pamela Chopra, who was a writer and singer, has passed away at the age of 74. The news was reported on April 20, 2023. As per reports, she was admitted to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital for the past 15 days and passed away due to age-related illnesses. As industry mourned the loss of the writer-singer, many visited the Chopra house before the last rites. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan took to social media to pen an emotional note for Pamela Chopra.

Amitabh Bachchan, who has worked with Yash Chopra in films like Silsila, Kabhi Kabhie, Deewaar, Trishul, Silsila and Kaala Patthar, had the privilege of knowing Pamela Chopra as well who had penned the story of Kabhie Kabhie. Taking to his blog on April 21, Amitabh wrote, “Life is so unpredictable and tough. The first days are ever a day of expectation and unknown elements .. and the first day today was no different .. the look, the people, the crew, the work itself … all alien and in a wonder .. and the topping , the very first scene of the film and a demanding appearance. In the middle of the efforts made to achieve .. comes the sudden news of the passing of Pamela Chopra, wife of Yash Chopra .. and life comes to a standstill!”

Reminiscing his music sittings with Pamela Chopra, he added, “So much to have spent with her and the film making and the music sittings and the outdoors and the homely get-togethers.. all gone in a breath. And one by one they all leave us. All left with the pleasant times spent...And after this ordeal of the first day. a quick visit to Yash ji's home and meeting the family and reliving all those years of the past. Life is so unpredictable and tough.”

Amitabh Bachchan and Yash Chopra were close friends. Their kids grew up together. A day prior, YRF released an official statement from Yash Raj Films of Pamela Chopra’s passing. It read, “With heavy hearts, the Chopra family would like to inform that Pamela Chopra, 74, passed away this morning. Her cremation took place at 11 am today in Mumbai. We are grateful for your prayers and the family would like to request for privacy in this moment of deep sadness and reflection.”

Pamela Chopra was admitted to Lilavati Hospital. “She passed away today early morning due to pneumonia with ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome). She had been admitted to the hospital for 15 days in the ICU," Dr. Prahlad Prabhudesai told PTI.

Pamela Chopra worked as a singer, costume designer, and writer and was credited as a co-producer in many Yash Raj Films' production. She was credited as the writer of Kabhie Kabhie and dress designer in Silsila and Sawaal. She crooned several songs for movies like Kabhie Kabhie, Noorie, Kaala Patthar, Chandni, Silsila, and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, among others. Chopra was last seen in the YRF's docu-series The Romantics to celebrate 50 years of the studio. She spoke about her journey, Yash Chopra's long-lasting career, and how Aditya Chopra took the legacy forward. Twitter's Blue Tick removal sparks responses from Vir Das, Nargis Fakhri and others

Twitter has initiated the removal of the blue verification badges from profiles that have not subscribed to the Twitter Blue service. The CEO of the company, Elon Musk, had previously announced this development earlier in the month. Among many other Twitter users, a bunch of Indian celebrities have also lost the blue tick as per the new mandate launched by the micro-blogging site, including Vir Das, Nargis Fakhri and more. 

Vir expressed his opinion on Twitter through multiple tweets, stating that he prefers the concept of buying tickets to verify an artist rather than verifying through blue ticks. He also mentioned that he does not mind being impersonated on the platform. He further added that users can differentiate the real him from impersonators based on whether they agree or disagree with his tweets. 

According to his suggestion, if someone is unhappy with his tweets and wishes to take action or report him to higher authorities, then the account in question belongs to an unverified impersonator.

According to the announcement, users who were verified under the previous system would lose their blue tick if they failed to subscribe to Twitter Blue prior to April 20. For the unversed, to obtain a blue badge on your profile, payment is now required. In India, Twitter Blue is available for a monthly fee of ₹650 on the web and ₹900 on mobile devices.

Honey Singh denies allegations of kidnapping and assault; calls it “an attempt” to tarnish his image

In a shocking turn of events, a complaint has been filed against popular singer-rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh and his team members for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting the owner of an event management agency. The complaint was lodged by the victim himself on Wednesday. Reportedly, a dispute arose between the event management agency and Honey Singh's team over the cancellation of an event. However, Honey Singh has denied the allegations and issued a statement through an Instagram post.

On Thursday evening, a day after the complaint was lodged, the rapper-singer took to his verified social media handle and stated that the allegations against him are "false" and "baseless." “The complaint and the allegations are false and baseless. There is no connection or agreement between my company or the complainant which the media is showing since morning,” read his note post.

Explaining it further, Singh wrote, “I was engaged for the Mumbai Show through a company named Tribevibe which is a reputed company and a sister concern of Bookmyshow. I did my performance for whatever time the permission was there for.” He signed off by stating, “Rest all such allegations are false and an attempt to tarnish my image. My Legal Team is already working to file a defamation case against such miscreants.”

For the unversed, according to the complaint filed with the BKC police, Vivek Ravi Raman, the organiser of a music festival called Yo Yo Honey Singh 3.0, alleged that Honey Singh and his associates were displeased with the event's cancellation. The complainant claimed that the singer-rapper and his associates subsequently kidnapped him, held him captive at a Mumbai hotel, and assaulted him. The music festival was scheduled to take place on April 15 at the MMRDA Grounds in BKC.

Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan won’t release in Delhi’s crucial single screens as Zee Studios asks them to play Deol’s Gadar 2 over Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal

The much-awaited film, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, starring Salman Khan has finally released today in cinemas. Starring Salman Khan, this action entertainer has got a wide release in more than 4000 screens across the country. However, certain single screens in Delhi had no choice but to skip playing this film.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Theatres like Liberty, Delite and Amba are not playing Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. This is because Zee Studios, the distributors of the Salman Khan-starrer, asked them to sign a contract whereby they’ll have to compulsorily play the Ajay Devgn-starrer Maidaan and Sunny Deol-Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2.”

The source continued, “This was not acceptable to these theatres as Gadar 2 clashes with the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal on August 11. They didn’t want to lose out on it as it can also work big time. On the other hand, Maidaan releases on June 23, a week after Adipurush. The Prabhas-starrer can surprise and the exhibitors felt that it was not a good idea to discontinue playing it and replace it with Maidaan, especially if it’s doing well.”

With no other option, these theatres have decided to play Chengiz, a Bengali film dubbed in Hindi. Amba and Delite have even decided to re-release Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathaan. Liberty, on the other hand, is playing two shows of Chengiz and three shows of the Punjabi film Annhi Dea Mazaak Ae. It has released today and stars Ammy Virk.

However, another source said, “The discussions are going on and the issue will be resolved soon. Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan will release in Delite. The other cinemas are also expected to follow suit.”

Meanwhile, there were reports that a similar issue had cropped up in other circuits as well, over revenue-sharing terms. But the problem was resolved yesterday.

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, starring Salman Khan, has finally released today. There’s a lot of excitement surrounding this film as it marks Salman’s first Eid release in nearly four years. The trade and industry expect the film to work due to Salman’s star power, songs, larger-than-life feel and family-friendly elements.

Bollywood Hungama has now learnt that there’s another major USP of the film. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Bhagyashree has a crucial cameo in the film. Audiences are going to love seeing her and Salman together after nearly 33 years.” Both were last seen in the 1989 blockbuster romantic saga, Maine Pyar Kiya.

The source further said, “The makers have paid a lovely tribute to Maine Pyar Kiya. And along with Bhagyashree, her husband Himalay Dassani and actor-son Abhimanyu Dassani also feature in the film in special appearances. Those who have seen it can’t stop raving about it and feel it’ll lead to madness in cinema halls.”

Besides Salman Khan, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan also stars Pooja Hegde, Venkatesh, Bhumika Chawla, Jagapathi Babu, Raghav Juyal, Jassie Gill, Siddharth Nigam, Shehnaaz Gill, Palak Tiwari, Vinali Bhatnagar and Vijender Singh. It is directed by Farhad Samji and is the story of a man and his pampered three younger brothers.

Bhagyashree made a stunning debut with Maine Pyar Kiya, directed by Sooraj Barjatya, for which she even won the Best Debut Award at the 35th Filmfare Awards. A year after the film’s release, she married Himalay Dassani. She was then seen in Qaid Main Hai Bulbul (1992), Tyagi (1992) and Paayal (1992), all co-starring her husband. She also acted with Avinash Wadhawan in Ghar Aaya Mera Pardesi (1993), after which she took a break from Hindi cinema. Recently, she was seen in supporting roles in Kangana Ranaut-starrer Thalaivii (2021) and Prabhas-Pooja Hegde starrer Radhe Shyam (2022).
