The 4-year-old Jacob Smith who played Kriti Sanon (Mimi)'s son Raj is a Scottish who migrated to Goa with his parents in an attempt to travel the world. The makers of Mimi had been searching for the right face to fit the character. When they saw Jacob they found their Raj in him and selected him for the role. Jacob relocated to the city of dreams, Mumbai and where he was given acting lessons and then only taken to Rajasthan for shooting. Jacob was in the nursery when he was finalized for the role but now he is 5 years old.

Mimi was initially going to release on 31st July but was preponed to 26th July as the movie leaked online. Actress Kriti Sanon celebrated her 31st birthday along with the release of her comedy-drama Mimi. The movie is directed by Laxman Utekar produced by Dinesh Vijan and Jio Studios. It stars Kriti Sanon, Pankaj Tripathi, Sai Tamhankar, Manoj Pahwa, Supriya Pathak, Evelyn Edwards and Aidan Whytock and Jacob Smith in pivotal roles.
Kriti Sanon has started shooting for her first pan-India film with director Om Raut’s Adipurush. The film also stars Prabhas as Lord Ram and Saif Ali Khan as Raavan. Kriti will be portraying the role of Sita. Recently, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Kriti Sanon spoke about her pairing with Prabhas.
Talking about working with Prabhas for the first time, Kriti said, "It’s a really fresh pairing and it is looking really nice is what I can tell you. He is a humble person, and very chilled, and easy to work with. I missed him in the last schedule. I was shooting with Saf. In the next schedule, in August I am going to see him soon."
Kriti further spoke about how the team has taken care of not hurting the sentiments of the people with the script of the film. "For Adipurush, my director(Om Raut) is very sorted and he has taken care of everything. We are being true to facts, we are being true to the sentiments of people. He is written it, he has also a done a lot of research. He is also someone who respects and values religion a lot. When I read the script or read the scenes, they are written in a very respectable manner, keeping everyone's sentiment in mind. When I perform, I have to make sure, I keep the character within certain boundaries. I cannot go all out. I can’t change the way the character is perceived. As an actor, I can play a little within the boundaries I have gotten and stay true to the spirit of the character," she said.

Producer Ekta Kapoor in collaboration with Jay Shewakramani is all set to kickstart their next production - Freddy. The film is a romantic thriller starring Kartik Aaryan in the titular role! Freddy goes on-floors on 1st August in Mumbai and is directed by Shashanka Ghosh.
Incidentally, Shashanka’s last outing Veere Di Wedding with Balaji Telefilms was a super hit and now they’re teaming up again! Full of unpredictable twists and sharp turns, characters in this movie are set to take us on a dark and chilling roller coaster ride, where the lines between love and obsession blur. Freddy is jointly produced by Balaji Telefilms and Northern Lights Films.
Ekta Kapoor, who’s known for genre-bending content is excited as the movie is all set to go on floors. "I’m thrilled to have Kartik on board. His choices of subjects have always been unique and this one is no different. I’m excited to take the audience into this dark, delicious world. Collaborating with Jayu makes it even more special," she said.

Television actress Ashnoor Kaur has scored 94 percent in the CBSE class 12th board examination. The results for the same were announced on Friday afternoon. Ashnoor took to her Instagram handle to announce her result to her fans.
With nearly 8 million followers on Instagram, Ashnoor was excited to share the happy results with her fans. Sharing a picture of herself, she wrote, "AND 94% IT IS PEOPLE #12thboards. Feeling accomplished, as I didn’t disappoint myself and my near & dear ones... Hardwork paid off!!! All I have to say is, where there’s a will, there’s always, ALWAYS a way!"
After the results were announced, she spoke to a leading daily about her future plans. The actress who is popular for playing the role of Mini in Patiala Babes said that she did not take up any project after the show went off air as she wanted to focus on her studies. She said that she scored 93% in class 10 and wanted to score better in class 12. With just a week left for Bigg Boss OTT to premier on Voot, the first contestant of the digital show has been revealed. Singer Neha Bhasin has been confirmed as the first contestant of the six-week digital series hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar that will air on Voot ahead of the televised version of the show, Bigg Boss 15. On Friday night, Neha's participation in the show was announced with a short promo.
The video promo begins with Neha Bhasin singing the viral song ‘Bajre Da Sitta’. “Ready ho jayiye Bigg Boss ke ghar mein meri awaaz sunne ke liye. Yeh awaaz gaati bhi hai, goonjti bhi hai lekin kisi se darti nahi hai,” she said in the teaser.

On Friday, actor Sonu Sood received a birthday present from his fans. Almost a hundred fans flocked to his Mumbai residence to wish him a happy 48th birthday. Many brought flowers and cakes, while others brought giant posters of the actor and other surprises for him. Farah shared a video on her social media accounts that included the names of everyone involved with the project, including music composer Tony Kakkar, actor Nidhhi Agerwal, and producer Anshul Garg. The video was directed by Farah herself. The presence of its original artiste – Altaf Raja – in the team proves that ‘Saath Kya Nibhaoge’ is a recreated version of ‘Tum To Thehre Pardesi.’

Jug Jugg Jeeyo director Raj Mehta took to his social media to share a glimpse of the fun at script reading session with his 'Do Mastaane'- Varun Dhawan and Maniesh Paul.
Having begun the shoot of the film last year, the second wave of pandemic caused a halt in the schedule. However, the team is all set to get back to floors as director Raj Mehta met his actors Varun and Maniesh at the Dharma Productions' office today.
Based in North India, Jug Jugg Jeeyo features an ensemble cast of Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, and Maniesh Paul. Maniesh would be seen slipping into the character of a Punjabi Munda for the same, the actor has been working out to bulk up his body to ace his role.
Apart from Jug Jugg Jeeyo, Maniesh also has an interesting lineup of projects, which is expected to be announced soon. The actor and host is currently making waves with his podcast that invites people from different walks of life to engage in heartfelt conversations.
Singer Rahul Vaidya and Disha Parmar who got married recently stepped out for a lunch on Friday with former Bigg Boss 14 co-contestants Aly Goni and Jasmin Bhasin. Aly and Disha also shared videos from their lunch date of them having a lavish meal at a posh eatery in the city. However, what grabbed everyone’s attention was Disha and Jasmin's alleged discussion on Bigg Boss 13 winner Sidharth Shukla.
In one of the videos, Disha is heard asking Rahul, "Sidharth har season mein aaega kya (Will Siddharth come on every season)?". To which Jasmin promptly reacted, "Jab tak Manisha rahegi (As long as Manisha is there)." Some assumed that Jasmin was referring to Manisha Sharma, who is the Chief Content Officer, Hindi Mass Entertainment, Viacom18. Reportedly, Sidharth and Manisha share a close bond.

Sidharth Shukla was one of the most popular contestants on Bigg Boss 13 and was also the winner of the season. He was also seen in Bigg Boss 14 as a mentor for a couple of episodes. It is being speculated that Sidharth and Shehnaaz Gill who spiced up Bigg Boss 13 with their chemistry will be seen on Bigg Boss OTT hosted by Karan Johar in a special role.
Sources close to the new Priyadarshan comedy Hungama 2 which premiered on Disney+ Hotstar on July 23, are blaming the current scandal in Shilpa Shetty’s life (her entrepreneur husband Raj Kundra’s alleged involvement with adult content) on the poor response to the film.
A source very close to the project told me, “It (the Kundra scandal) did affect the film’s performance. There was a campaign on social media to boycott the film. Disney+ Hotstar didn’t take it seriously. Or maybe they just ignored it in the hope that the film won’t get affected. But it did.”
Sources say Hungama 2 lost at least 15 percent viewership due to the arrest of Shilpa Shetty’s husband. It is ironical that her comeback to acting after 14 years was meant to be the USP of Hungama 2.
Now apparently the team behind Ms Shetty Kundra’s other comeback film Nikamma are running scared.
Sources say the film is complete. The producers Sony Pictures were waiting to see how Hungama 2 was received.Now that the verdict is clear, the release of Nikamma has been postponed indefinitely.
Significantly two talented young actors Meezan Jaffrey in Hungama 2 and Abhimanyu Dassani in Nikamma were hoping to make headway in their respective careers with the two Shilpa Shetty starrers. But God had other plans.

It's said to be the biggest action scene of Katrina's career and she will be seen performing some never seen before stunts in the schedule," a trade source told Bollywood Hungama, adding further that Katrina has been silently working towards her physique to do all the stunts by herself.
"Katrina at present is in the best shape too, and it's a result of all the hard work that she has put in as a part of her prep for Tiger 3. She values the character of Zoya and wants to take the bar a notch higher with the third part. The action scene in question is a solo action set piece featuring her, which is the biggest ever for a female lead in Indian cinema," the source informed. According to the source, Kat will be a part of many more action scenes in Tiger 3 alongside Salman Khan, who spearheads the franchise.
"Watch out for the banter between two ISI agents - Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi," the source shared. Tiger 3 is currently being shot in Mumbai and this will be followed by a marathon schedule abroad from the second half of August. The movie is confirmed for a 2022 release in cinema halls across the globe.
On Friday, July 23, Ronnie Screwvala and Harman Baweja announced that they have signed Kartik Aaryan for Captain India, which will be directed by Hansal Mehta. The next day, producer Subhash Kale accused them of plagiarism and claimed that the plot of the film is similar to that of their project, Operation Yemen. Subhash Kale’s film, which will be directed by editor-turned-director Sanjay Sankla is about Operation Raahat, a 2015 operation wherein the Indian Armed Forces under the leadership of General V K Singh evacuated Indian and foreign citizens from Yemen during the Yemeni crisis.
When Bollywood Hungama reached out to Subhash Kale, he said, “We have been working since 2016 on this project. The cousin of our director Sanjay Sankla was the pilot on this mission. Sanjay Sankla has been a reputed editor and has worked on nearly 95 films. He researched extensively and when he narrated the idea to me, I said that we should work on it as it’s an interesting subject. We took 9 months to pen the script. We even got Mission Mangal (2019) writer Nidhi Singh Dharma on board. Our pre-production was nearly done. I wonder where the idea got leaked from. This episode is in the public domain but we were the first ones to register at the Screenwriters Association (SWA).”
Subhash Kale even claims, “Captain India waalon ne toh script likhna shuru bhi nahi kiya.” And then adds, “They had dates of Kartik Aaryan. The idea has not leaked from our side because we have signed a confidentiality agreement with everyone associated.”
The announcement press release of Captain India doesn’t mention that the Kartik Aaryan starrer is based on Operation Raahat. When asked about this, Subhash Kale reasoned, “Yes but the city of Sana'a, the capital of Yemen is visible on their poster, just like how it’s depicted in our poster as well. And that city’s architecture and landscape are such that it doesn’t match with any other city in the world. Also, the poster shows carpet-bombing happening over the city, an aeroplane going over Sana'a and the title Captain India are clear giveaways that their film is based on the same incident.”
Subhash Kale also said that he hasn’t reached out to the makers of Captain India, “Hansal ji is my friend. But maine unse iske baare mein baat nahi ki. Baat karke kya karenge? And anyway, hum unki film pe stay toh laayenge hi. IMPAA (Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association) has said that they’ll bring a stay on this film. T P Aggarwal and advocate Ashok Saraogi have confirmed. Screenwriters Association has told us that once Captain India makers reveal the film’s plot on social media, they’ll take action. Even if the scripts of both films are different, the storyline would be the same and hence both films would also be similar. Do same picture toh nahi ban sakti. It’ll then become a repeat of Scam 1992 (2020) and The Big Bull (2021) episode.” Interestingly, Scam 1992 was also helmed by Hansal Mehta.
Subhash Kale then revealed that reputed actors had shown interest in Operation Yemen, “We had spoken to Akshay Kumar and he had liked the subject. Paresh Rawal has even given his nod. So we have moved quite ahead and we’ll do the film, come what may. Captain India makers plan to shoot in 2022. We hope to film from November or December 2021.”
Subhash Kale then tells us, “We were only waiting for the actors to sign on the dotted line and come on board. We had also approached Ranbir Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur. We spoke to Vicky Kaushal through his father Sham Kaushal ji. Vicky liked the subject but his dates were not available. We hope to launch a poster after signing the actors. Akshay ji said he’ll have a narration after returning from London, and then decide whether he wants to come on board. He had met Sanjay Sankla. Both have a great relationship and Sanjay had edited several of his films like Rowdy Rathore (2012).”
He continued, “For the role of V K Singh, we spoke to Anil Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Boman Irani. All three were interested to do the film. We were zeroing on Paresh ji as his age is apt for the part. He had told us to send the script today, which we’ll do. Mostly Paresh ji toh haan hi bolenge. If Akshay ji comes on board, we’ll shoot in 2022 as he doesn’t have dates. He got interested due to its patriotic theme.”
Subhash Kale heads Vikrant Studio, one of the top VFX studios in Bollywood. They plan to put their resources to good use for Operation Yemen. He said, “We are working on virtual technology in this film. Ronnie Screwvala won’t be able to do the same because only we have that facility. So we plan to create virtual sets of the airport and also the aeroplane. We even plan to show Sana'a city through CGI. We have spoken to a team in Turkey about it. The aim is to make a film matching international standards.”
Richa Chadha and Pratik Gandhi are all set to share screen for the upcoming web series Six Suspects. The duo will be seen playing investigating officers in the series directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. Six Suspects is an adaptation of author Vikas Swarup's 2008 novel of the same name. The show has been produced by Ajay Devgn Ffilms and Reel Life Entertainment and will soon be streamed on Disney+Hotstar.
On Friday, Richa and Pratik took to their Instagram handles to share their first look as investigating officers in Six Suspects. Sharing the first look, Richa wrote, "The murkiest murder I have ever investigated. There are six suspects but very little time. Will I be able to solve this? During a virtual event hosted by Disney+ Hotstar, Richa said, "My part in Six Suspects is extremely layered and complex. She is an upright investigating officer who is trying to make it work in the male-dominated investigation space... I have wanted to work with Tigmanshu Dhulia for a while, since Paan Singh Tomar. This is also based on a good book. So you will see a lot of shades in my character."
Talking about his character, Pratik said, "The genre is also something that I have not explored. I am sure the audience will see me in a new avatar. Even I was surprised with myself while I was shooting for the show because I have not played a part like this."
Shilpa Shetty Kundra has landed in a legal soup after the arrest of her husband Raj Kundra on July 19 in a pornography case. Shilpa has already been questioned twice by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch in connection with the case. Now, filmmaker Hansal Mehta spoke in defense of the actor on Twitter. On Friday, he took to Twitter asking everyone to leave her alone.
Shilpa and Raj Kundra have been mercilessly trolled online ever since the arrest. The Hungama 2 actor also filed a defamation suit at the Bombay High Court against media publications and social media platforms for publishing defamatory content against her.

Meanwhile, hearing Shilpa's defamation suit on Friday, the Bombay High Court directed a few media platforms to take down their contents. However, the court also added that this shall not be constructed as a gag on media.
