Hollywood actors Harry Styles and Florence Pugh are gearing up for the highly-anticipated psychological thriller Don’t Worry Darling. The film is helmed by Olivia Wilde. For months, there's been a lot of buzz around the film but also not for the right reasons. Rumours are rife that Harry Styles got paid more than Pugh. Addressing the issue, Wilde recently denied all these speculations.
Speaking to Variety for this week’s cover story, Wilde said, “There has been a lot out there that I largely don’t pay attention to. But the absurdity of invented clickbait and subsequent reaction regarding a nonexistent pay disparity between our lead and supporting actors really upset me. I’m a woman who has been in this business for over 20 years, and it’s something that I have fought for myself and others, especially being a director. There is absolutely no validity to those claims.”
Besides Harry Styles and Florence Pugh, the stellar cast also includes Chris Pine, director Olivia Wilde, Gemma Chan, KiKi Layne, and Nick Kroll. Katie Silberman wrote the screenplay from a spec script by Carey and Shane Van Dyke. Don't Worry Darling is Wilde's follow-up feature to 2019's coming-of-age comedy Booksmart.
