The upcoming film Hamare Baarah starring Annu Kapoor, Ashwini Kalsekar, Manoj Joshi, and Parth Samthaan has made waves in the nation and opened up discussions. The 'Badri-Kedar temple committee president Ajendra Ajay is working as the creative director in the film. The film is based in the city of Uttar Pradesh, narrating the important story of the ever-growing population.

Talking about its premiere at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, the film will be screened in an ongoing film festival that began on May 14 and will end on 25 May. The film will be released theatrically on June 7, 2024.

Hamare Baarah is jointly produced by Ravi S Gupta, Birender Bhagat, and Sanjay Nagpal, while Kamal Chandra is directing the film. The story of the film is penned by Rajan Agarwal. The film will be released by Viacom 18 Studios in India while Rising Star Entertainment UK is at the helm for the global release.

REVEALED: The Garfield Movie has a Brahmastra and Ramayana connection

The animated flick The Garfield Movie is all set to release in India on Friday, May 17, a week before its release in North America and major markets on May 24. The buzz is tremendous for the film in the West and as per Variety, it’s all set to open at $35 million in the weekend, despite clashing with Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. What’s interesting to note is that worldwide, audiences watching The Garfield Movie will see the mention of an Indian production house in the beginning slate and end credits.

It has come to light that Prime Focus, an Indian studio known for delivering VFX in local and international films, is one of the producers of The Garfield Movie. As soon as the film begins, the logo of Prime Focus is displayed along with Sony Pictures, Columbia Pictures, Alcon Entertainment etc. And in the end credits, Namit Malhotra’s name in big bold letters is mentioned as one of the producers.

Interestingly, Prime Focus was also one of the producers of Brahmastra. Released in 2022, this Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer was loved for its concept, performances, music and of course VFX that matched global standards. If all goes well, Prime Focus will also be a part of one of the most awaited films, Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash of KGF fame. However, as per recent reports, Prime Focus is yet to fulfill the payment terms to producer Madhu Mantena.

Prime Focus has delivered VFX in several significant Hollywood films like Harry Potter series, Tenet, Dunkirk, films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe including Avengers: Endgame, Mission Impossible films, Fast & Furious films, movies of the DC Universe, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire etc.

After The Garfield Movie, Prime Focus has also produced Animal Friends, which is a live action-cum-animated film starring Ryan Reynolds and Jason Momoa. It is expected to be released in 2025.

Vicky Kaushal started his acting journey with a minor role in Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur before his lead debut in Masaan

Known for his spellbinding performances in a variety of movies, Vicky Kaushal has entrenched himself as one of most versatile actors in Bollywood. On his birthday, fans and moviegoers have much to celebrate.

Vicky is known to many made his debut in Masaan for which he was highly appreciated in 2015. But that wasn’t the start to the actor’s acting journey. In 2012 Vicky had a minor role in Anurag Kashyap’s prominent film Gangs of Wasseypur.

In the iconic movie Vicky played a background character during the heated exchange between Nagma Khatoon and Sardar Khan played by Richa Chadha and Manoj Bajpayee respectively at a brothel. In a conversation with Mid Day, Kaushal spoke about how he got his role sharing that the original junior artists selected for the role backed out once they realised the setting was a brothel. Vicky who was assisting on the film then stepped in to fill the gap. “I’m that silhouette you see overacting behind the window grille when Nagma Khatoon is cursing Sardar Khan” he hilariously recalled.

His collaboration with Kashyap was not just till that but beyond as he continued to assist and act in Raman Raghav 2.0 in 2016. Vicky’s incredible journey started as an assistant director to acting as background and eventually being lead for successful films like URI: The Surgical Strike, Raazi and Sam Bahadur is the attestation to his talent.

He will soon be seen on-screen in Anand Tiwari’s Bad News with Tripti Dimri, Ammy Virk and Neha Dupia.

Kangana Ranaut's Emergency postponed again due to Lok Sabha elections

The release of Kangana Ranaut's political drama Emergency has been postponed once again. The makers of the film issued a statement on Wednesday, announcing that the film will not hit theatres on June 14, 2024, as originally planned. This decision comes as Kangana Ranaut is currently deeply involved in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, where she is contesting from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.

In the statement, the team behind Emergency expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support received for Kangana Ranaut, affectionately referred to as the "queen" by her fans. They emphasized her commitment to serving the nation and fulfilling her responsibilities as a political candidate, which has led to the postponement of the film's release.

Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par cuts Delhi shoot short due to expense; Raid 2 shifts filming from Delhi to Lucknow amidst soaring costs: Report

Aamir Khan is bringing Christmas cheer this year with his upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par. This project promises to be both emotionally resonant and entertaining. Marking Khan's return to socially conscious cinema, the film tackles the challenges and triumphs of individuals with Down syndrome. Based on the Spanish sports dramedy Campeones, Sitaare Zameen Par is directed by RS Prasanna and began filming earlier this year. The movie is slated for a Christmas release.

The story revolves around Khan, playing a headstrong but ultimately kind-hearted basketball coach. As part of his community service, he's tasked with leading a Special Olympics basketball team. This team is anything but ordinary - it's brimming with talented individuals with diverse learning disabilities. News from the sets hints at a captivating narrative centred around the Paralympic Games, a prestigious international sporting event for differently-abled athletes.

Earlier, it was reported that the actor and the team would head to New Delhi for the shoot. However, there's a twist! Filming in Delhi, the capital of India has become significantly expensive. According to a report in Hindustan Times, the shooting permits for iconic locations like the Rajiv Chowk metro station or the international airport come with hefty price tags. Due to these rising costs, Sitaare Zameen Par's Delhi schedule has been significantly reduced. Originally planned for a month, the shoot will now be condensed to just 8-10 days in July. The team will likely recreate some Delhi scenes in other locations like Lucknow or Madhya Pradesh to stay within budget.

A source previously revealed to the publication that the film was to be shot extensively in Delhi, with iconic locations like Lal Qila (Red Fort), Lodhi Garden, Purani Dilli (Old Delhi), and Tyagraj Stadium serving as backdrops. “The schedule is set for one month, between May and June. Directed by RS Prasanna, the movie began filming in February 2024 and is slated to hit theatres by Christmas.

Interestingly, a few weeks ago, Bollywood Hungama reported Ajay Devgn starrer Raid 2 completed its final schedule in New Delhi. Interestingly, Raid 2 went on floors early this year, on January 6, 2024. The source continued, “The makers had meticulously planned the shoot. Everything went as per the plan and in less than four months, the shooting will conclude.” Besides Delhi and Lucknow, Raid 2 was also filmed in Mumbai and Rajasthan.

However, Hindustan Times reports that Ajay Devgn starrer also opted a similar module to cut down on the costs. “They shot in the city for four days, including India Gate, and then 47 days in Lucknow. Atleast 20-25 films in today’s time are being shot in Lucknow because of the subsidies and quick permissions,” a person from the production said.

Both Raid and Raid 2 are directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. It is all set to release in cinemas on November 15 this year. Raid 2 is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak and Krishan Kumar. The film is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series and is a Panorama Studios production. Kangana Ranaut declares assets worth Rs. 91 crore in election affidavit: 7 properties, Rs. 1.35 cr bank balance, 3 luxury cars, 6.7 kg gold

Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut, who is contesting as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh for the Lok Sabha seat, has disclosed assets totalling over Rs. 91 crore in her election affidavit. The 37-year-old actor-turned-politician's assets comprise Rs. 28.7 crore in movable assets and Rs 62.9 crore in immovable assets.

According to the reports in NDTV, India Today and several other reports, Kangana holds Rs. 2 lakh in cash and nearly Rs 1.35 crore in her bank accounts. She possesses properties in Mumbai, Punjab, and Manali, along with three luxury cars – a BMW, a Mercedes Benz, and a Mercedes Maybach – valued at Rs 3.91 crore. Additionally, she owns 6.7 kg of gold, estimated at Rs. 5 crore, 60 kg of silver valued at Rs. 50 lakh, and 14-carat diamond jewellery worth Rs. 3 crore. The actor also has 50 Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) policies under her name, while her total liabilities stand at Rs. 7.3 crore.

Educationally, Kangana completed her Class 12 from a private school in Chandigarh. However, alongside her assets, her election affidavit also reveals that she faces legal troubles, with a total of eight criminal cases registered against her. Three of these cases are for allegedly hurting religious sentiments.

In comparison, her opponent in the election, Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh, has declared assets worth approximately Rs. 96.70 crore.

The Mandi Lok Sabha constituency in Himachal Pradesh is scheduled to go to polls on June 1st, marking the 7th and final phase of the Parliament elections. Kangana, expressing her aspirations, stated that she hopes this is not her first and last time contesting, and looks forward to more opportunities to file nominations from Mandi in the future. Vikramaditya Singh had filed his nomination on April 9. Initially cast to play Ishaan Khatter’s mother, Mallika Sherawat exited the show due to creative differences, as reported by Bombay Times. It has since been confirmed that actress Sakshi Tanwar has stepped into the role.

According to ETimes, Sakshi Tanwar is currently on set filming for The Royals, which features Ishaan Khatter and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles. However, no official confirmation has been issued by the makers or the production team. The series promises to offer an enthralling glimpse into the lavish lifestyles of Indian aristocracy, blending real and imagined stories from various Rajasthani royal families.

Regarding Mallika Sherawat's departure, her team previously relayed to the media that she left the show. “Mallika exited the project in February due to creative differences with the production team. The role did not align with what had been initially promised. After several discussions, she ultimately decided to depart,” Mallika’s team informed ETimes earlier. This exit paved the way for Tanwar to join the ensemble cast.

According to Mid-Day, Netflix has approved The Royals, which will alternate between present-day and past decades. The narrative features Bhumi Pednekar as a prominent entrepreneur, with the series being made on a grand scale like The Crown. The filming commenced on February 10 in Rajasthan, with scenes captured at authentic settings like the City Palace and Rambagh Palace. The production, directed by Nupur Asthana and Priyanka Ghose, promises a stylish and emotional drama exploring the style, politics, and fabulous lives of aristocrats.

Shreyas Talpade delays action and intense drama roles post Heart Attack recovery

Shreyas Talpade, the actor who underwent an angioplasty following a heart attack last year, intends to avoid accepting jobs involving action and strong drama until he has fully recovered. After collapsing at home on December 14, 2023, the 'Om Shanti Om' actress was hospitalized in Mumbai for a week before being released.

Talpade stated that he is presently going cautiously, awaiting the release of his forthcoming film Kartam Bhugtam. “There are certain limitations right now because my recovery is still in progress. My doctors have said ‘Another six months and you should be as good as new’. So, I will wait. But till that time, there are some films that I am working on which probably do not have those kind of action sequences or high-intensity drama sequences which I might not be able to do immediately,” Talpade shared with PTI during an interview.

Shreyas Talpade previously described his heart attack, implying that it might be related to the Covid-19 vaccination. In an interview with Lehren Retro, he claimed that despite taking care of his health, he still had heart attacks. He stated that he cannot rule out the likelihood of vaccine-related health concerns. Shreyas stated that he does not smoke and very sometimes drinks alcohol.

“I don’t smoke. I’m not really a regular drinker, I drink perhaps once a month. No tobacco, yes, my cholesterol was a little high, which I was told is normal these days. I was taking medication for that, and it had come down reasonably. So, if all the factors–no diabetes, no blood pressure, nothing, then what could be the reason?” he said.

He said that despite taking good care of his health, if such a health scare occurred, there must be some other reason. Shreyas continued, “I would not negate the theory. It was only after the Covid-19 vaccination is when I started experiencing some fatigue and tiredness. There has to be some amount of truth, and we cannot negate the theory. Maybe it is Covid or the vaccine, but there is something associated post that…It is very unfortunate because we genuinely don’t know what we have taken inside our bodies. We went with the flow and trusted the companies. I never heard of such incidents before Covid-19.”

Shreyas Talpade's psychological thriller Kartam Bhugtam, directed by Soham P Shah, is set to hit theaters on May 17.

Furthermore, the actor has notable roles in Kangana Ranaut's Emergency, portraying former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the comedy film Welcome to the Jungle, and will once again lend his voice to the iconic character Pushpa Raj, played by Allu Arjun, in the Hindi-dubbed version of Pushpa 2: The Rule.

Actor Anup Soni recently faced this troubling trend when a manipulated video endorsing IPL betting spread widely, using his voice and clips from his popular show Crime Patrol. This video, likely created using artificial intelligence (AI), convincingly replicated Soni's voice, giving the false impression that he supports betting activities. Soni swiftly denounced the video, clarifying that he has no association with it.

Following the viral spread of the video, Anup Soni took proactive steps to condemn the act, releasing a statement to clarify that he had no association with the doctored content. This incident underscored the dangers and widespread impact of deepfake technology, highlighting the potential for misleading representations of celebrities that can deceive the public. Soni's response brought attention to the need for vigilance and awareness surrounding the misuse of AI-driven manipulations in media.

Deepfakes, a combination of "deep learning" and "fake," are the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to edit video or audio recordings, sometimes resulting in convincing but misleading imitations of actual individuals. In the instance of Anup Soni, his likeness was used to promote unlawful activities, creating anguish and raising worries about the consequences for celebrities' reputations.

The video in issue, which encouraged internet users to join Telegram groups, received millions of views, demonstrating how quickly such information spreads online. Delhi Police visits TMKOC sets amid Gurucharan Singh disappearance

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC) fame Gurucharan Singh, who was loved by fans as Roshan Singh Sodhi, has been missing since April 22 this year. Recently, Delhi police visited the sets of the popular comedy show in connection with the case.

Delhi police is scanning all the CCTV footages to search Gurucharan Singh as early as possible, but as actor left his phone in Palam area, tracing the missing actor is posing a challenge for the cops.

According to news reports and police investigations, many TMKOC actors were in touch with Gurucharan Singh. To find hints of the actor’s whereabouts, Delhi Police visited the sets of the show. According to sources from the sets, “This week Delhi police visited our sets and spoke with the actors who were in touch with Gurucharan Singh. Everyone has co-operated well with the police. “

As confirmed by Sohil Ramani, Head of Production of Neela Films "As a part of their investigation, Delhi police had visited our set. They went back assured that there were no dues from our end towards Gurucharan. We continue to pray for his well being and hope he is found soon."

Gurucharan's family has registered a missing complaint and everyone from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah sets and the production team is shocked and worried about the development. Every day, they are praying for his well-being.

Kareena Kapoor Khan receives court notice over her book’s title Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Pregnancy Bible

Kareena Kapoor Khan has found herself embroiled in a legal tussle regarding her book titled ‘Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Pregnancy Bible’. The Madhya Pradesh High Court has issued a notice to the actress after a petition was filed by advocate Christopher Anthony expressing his angst over the use of the word ‘Bible’ in the title of her book. In his petition, he has contended that the book's title, specifically the use of the word "Bible," is disrespectful to the Christian community.

Anthony alleges that Kapoor Khan's choice of title seeks to exploit the revered status of the Bible for publicity, deeming it inappropriate to draw parallels between her pregnancy journey and the sacred text of Christianity. “Bible is the holy book of Christianity all over the world and it is wrong to compare Kareena Kapoor Khan’s pregnancy with the Bible,” he reportedly said in the statement. Justice Gurpal Singh Ahluwalia, presiding over a single-judge bench, has summoned Kareena Kapoor Khan to provide an explanation for her decision to incorporate ‘Bible’ in the book's title. Not only the actress but also the book's sellers have been served notice.

Initially, Anthony sought legal recourse through the police, urging them to file an FIR against Kapoor Khan upon the book's release in 2021 but they declined to register the complaint. Subsequently, his petition was rejected by the lower court on the grounds of insufficient evidence to establish the alleged offense. Undeterred, Anthony pursued the matter to the Additional Sessions Court, where his plea was once again dismissed.

Speaking of Kareena Kapoor Khan, the actress decided to write this book to share her journey towards motherhood and her experiences which have been compiled together in this book. Aamir Khan to announce the sequel to Sarfarosh at the 25th anniversary celebration screening?

Bollywood Hungama was the first one to report two days ago that a special screening of Sarfarosh (1999) will be held in Mumbai, May 10, to celebrate the classic film’s 25th anniversary. The news, as expected, spread like wild fire, and led to a lot of excitement. What also added to the excitement was that Aamir Khan himself is going to grace the screening along with Sonali Bendre and others. Now, we bring to you another exciting update about this event.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “At the event, Aamir and the other cast and crew members of the film will go down memory lane and share their experience of working on the film. But along with the trivia, Aamir is expected to also announce the sequel to Sarfaorsh.”

The source continued, "If not announce, Aamir will at least assure that the second part of Sarfarosh is in the works. However, it is not known if he’ll star in Sarfarosh 2.”

For many years, there were talks that director John Matthew Matthan is working on the second part of Sarfarosh. At one point, it was reported that John Abraham will play the lead role. In 2020, John confirmed that he is no longer working on the sequel.

The 25th anniversary special screening of Sarfarosh is organized by Radio Nasha and will also see John Matthew Matthan, Mukesh Rishi, Lalit Pandit, Naseeruddin Shah, Makrand Deshpande, Smita Jaykar, Manoj Joshi, Upasana Singh, Akhilendra Mishra and Akash Khurana in attendance besides Aamir Khan and Sonali Bendre.

A source close to the development added, “The team is all set to kickstart a week-long Mumbai schedule with a lot of action sequences designed by Kecha and then followed by a Goa schedule. The duo's chemistry is anticipated to sizzle on screen, adding an extra layer of excitement to the project.” It is going to be a very different world of Sanki which the audience will experience with this film.”

Sanki is poised to be a high-octane thriller, promising audiences a rollercoaster ride of adrenaline-pumping action sequences and gripping drama. Kya Kool Hain Hum director Sangeeth Sivan passes away; Tusshar Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh pay tribute: “Soft spoken, gentle and a wonderful human being”

Indian filmmaker Sangeeth Sivan, known for his work in both Malayalam and Hindi cinema, passed away while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mumbai. The cause of death has not yet been officially confirmed.

Sivan, who balanced directing with cinematography throughout his career, made significant contributions to Indian cinema. His 1992 Malayalam film Yodha, starring Mohanlal, is considered a classic of the industry. He also ventured into Hindi films, directing comedies like Kya Kool Hain Hum (2005) which featured Tusshar Kapoor in a lead role. 

Tusshar took to social media to express his grief, tweeting, "Don’t have words to describe what I’m feeling right now…. A mentor of sorts, someone who introduced me to comedy with #KyakoolHainHum is no more! Sangeeth ji, I had the honour of working with you again recently but it’ll take me a long time to get over this sad news! RIP sir you will be missed!"

Just a day ago, Kangana Ranaut was heavily trolled for her speech wherein she asserted that she gets the maximum respect in the industry, after Amitabh Bachchan. This video clip of her making ‘high claims’ about her stardom in Bollywood resulted in netizens slamming the actress and many of them even remarked about the actress giving out 15 consecutive flops. Reacting to it, Kangana took to her social media to share a note where she quizzed the users, ‘if not her, then whom?’

Readers would be aware that Kangana is currently busy with her electoral campaign as the actress has joined politics as the BJP candidate from the Mandi constituency, which belongs to her hometown Himachal Pradesh. In a video from her campaign speech which found its way online, Kangana was seen saying, “Sara desh hairaan hai, ki wo Kangana, chahe Rajasthan chali jau, chahe mai West Bengal chali jau, chahe mai Delhi chali jau, chahe mai Manipur chali jau, aisa lagta hai ki mano itna pyaar aur itna sammaan… Mein daave se keh sakti hu ke Amitabh Bachchan ji ke baad aaj kisiko industry me milta hai to wo mujhe milta hai (The entire nation is surprised that, Kangana, no matter whether I go to Rajasthan or West Bengal or Delhi, or Manipur, I feel like I received so much love and respect, that I can assure you all, that after Amitabh Bachchan, if there is someone in the industry who gets so much respect, then it is me).”

Her speech sparked an outrage on social media where many took to the platform to slam the actress for making this statement. “Peak level of self-obsession,” claimed one of the users whereas another one added, “After giving flops over flops, Kangana Ranaut compare herself with Amitabh Bachchan. This is the biggest insult to Amitabh Bachchan..”. Followed by this reaction she received, Kangana decided to hit back  by sharing another post, but this time on her Instagram story.

In the post she wrote, “I clearly mentioned Bharat and its various states where I get overwhelming love and reception as an artist for my art as well as my integrity as a nationalist, not just my acting but my work for woman empowerment is widely appreciated. I have a question for those who have an objection, if not me after Big B, who gets most amount of love and respect from hindi films in Bharat? Khans? Kapoors? Who??? Alia Bhatt starts training for YRF Spy Universe film, to be followed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love and War: Report

Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt has her upcoming projects lined up for the next year. After wrapping up Jigra, slated for release on September 27, 2024, Pinkvilla has reported on Bhatt's busy schedule for the next 12 months. Alia is currently preparing for an action-packed role in an upcoming YRF Spy Universe film. Sources close to the production reveal that she will be portraying a super soldier in this yet-untitled project.

Excited to embark on this new journey, Alia has begun a two-month training program with experts to prepare for the role. Filming is expected to commence in late July 2024 and span four months across locations in India and abroad, with a target completion date by the end of the year. Following the YRF Spy Universe film, Alia will reunite with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Love and War.

Shooting for this project is expected to begin in January 2025 and conclude by June of the same year, according to the current production schedule. There are also rumours of Bhatt making cameo appearances in other projects before diving into these two major films.

While Bhatt begins filming Love and War in January, reports suggest Ranbir Kapoor will shoot his solo portions earlier, likely in the last quarter of 2024. RK is expected to wrap up his commitments on the film Ramayana by July before moving on to preparations for Love and War.

Aryan Khan kicks off last leg of Stardom shoot in Mumbai; eyes 2024 year-end release: Report

Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan's directorial debut, the highly anticipated web series Stardom, began the shoot in Goa in April 2024. According to a reliable source, as reported by Bollywood Hungama, filming kicked off this Friday, April 19th, in Goa. Adding to the star power, the source hinted that Bobby Deol was also expected to join the shoot for the final few days of filming. Now, there’s another update that Khan has begun his last leg of shoot.

As per a report in Mid-day, sources suggest the young director recently took over the expansive Royal Palms in Goregaon for a five-day filming schedule. The team is aiming to wrap up filming by the end of May if all goes according to plan.

The source shed light on the project's fast-paced progress, “Aryan was shooting all through April, the locations changing from a studio in Andheri East to Madh Island, and now Royal Palms. The shoot will go on at the Goregaon venue till the end of the week before moving to another location. Simultaneously, Aryan has been overseeing the editing process. Though there is no rush on the show's delivery, the team is keen to release it by the year-end.”

For his directorial venture, Aryan has chosen a familiar subject – the dazzling world of Hindi cinema. The series, which began filming in June 2023, will consist of six episodes. While the lead actor remains under wraps, it is said that Lakshya Lalwani is one of the protagonists. Amazon Prime Video is today one of the biggest OTT platforms in India. Several people played a part in making the streaming giant a force to reckon with in India and one of them was Aparna Purohit. And now, it is being said that she has resigned from her post of Head of India and SEA Originals. And if all goes well, she’s expected to be hired in an enviable position at Aamir Khan’s production house, Aamir Khan Productions.

Aparna Purohit joined Amazon Prime Video India in January 2016 as Head of Creative Development. In April 2019, she was promoted to Head of India Originals and in 2022, she was assigned the plum post of Head of India and SEA Originals. She was also a regular at launch events of Amazon Prime Video’s original films and web shows.

An industry insider commented, “She is in advanced talks with Aamir Khan and in a few days, it’ll be known if she has accepted the job offer and pay package. Aamir has often said that he has grand plans for Aamir Khan Productions. Signing Aparna could be the step in that direction. Together, they can churn out some solid content.”

It is, however, not known when Aparna Purohit will end her tenure at Amazon Prime Video and whether she will grace the Panchayat 3 and Mirzapur 3’s launches. The insider commented, “Her sensible talks and million-dollar watt smile added to the charm in the Prime Video events. She’ll surely be missed.” While the much-awaited show Panchayat 3 will be released on May 28, Mirzapur 3 is expected to premiere in July.

Huma Qureshi films with 300 villagers near Ahmedabad as Gulabi gets emotional ending: Report

Huma Qureshi has completed filming for the upcoming movie Gulabi, a powerful tale celebrating the resilience and strength of women. Announced on International Women's Day, the film is a collaboration between Jio Studios and Echelon Productions. Directed by Vipul Mehta and produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Vishal Rana, Gulabi is inspired by a real-life story. It follows the inspiring journey of an auto-rickshaw driver who emerges as a beacon of change, empowering women to take charge of their destinies.

According to a report in Mid-day, shot in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, the film wrapped up with a significant crowd sequence. The production team brought together 300 people from nearby villages, and according to a unit source, the shoot was electrifying. The source revealed, “The shoot was on the outskirts of Ahmedabad, and the production team had gathered 300 people from nearby villages. One would think that managing such a crowd would be a nightmare, but it was an electric shoot. Huma and the extras filmed the sequence without any hiccups.”

Qureshi expressed her deep connection to the film's message. "Working on Gulabi has been a joy," she said. "The powerful narrative resonated deeply with me. It's a story that speaks to the heart and soul."

Ranveer Singh starrer Don 3 sets sight on international locations for filming; to shoot in London and Germany: Report

The highly anticipated Don 3 is gearing up for production, with Ranveer Singh stepping into the iconic role of the charismatic criminal mastermind.  This news, announced last year by director Farhan Akhtar, got the fans and industry talking, sparking both excitement and debate. While details surrounding the film have remained tightly under wraps, recent reports have shed some light on the production schedule and filming locations.

According to Dainik Bhaskar, the shoot is expected to commence later this year, aiming for a swift four-month turnaround. Interestingly, the report suggests a significant international focus, with Farhan Akhtar currently scouting locations in London and Germany. “A few days ago, Farhan Akhtar reached London with the core team to finalize shooting locations for Don 3,” the report stated. “Apart from London, the production team will also be heading to Germany. It's possible that filming might extend to other German cities as well.”

Adding to the intrigue, sources close to the production revealed a potential filming window between "after August this year and wrapping it up by December." While official confirmation from Farhan Akhtar and the team is awaited, these reports have certainly piqued the interest of fans.

The decision to cast Ranveer Singh as the successor to Shah Rukh Khan's portrayal of Don has been a source of much discussion. To announce the new direction for the franchise, Farhan released a captivating teaser featuring Ranveer's voice delivering a powerful dialogue, “Sher jo so raha hain woh jagega kab, puchte hai yeh sab. Unse keh do phir jaag utha hoon main, aur phir samne jald aane ko... (Everyone asks when the sleeping lion will wake up. Tell them I have awakened, and I'll be back soon).” This announcement divided social media, with some fans eager to see Ranveer take on the role, while others expressed a sense of nostalgia for Shah Rukh Khan's iconic performance in the past two films.

In an interview with BBC Asian Network, Farhan Akhtar had said last year, “I'm just really looking forward to get it going. I mean Ranveer is amazing. He's great for the part. He's also, as you can imagine, really excited and really nervous. You know about the thing that you're filling some big shoes. But we went through the same emotional process when Shah Rukh Khan did it and everyone was like, ‘Oh my God, how can you replace Mr. Bachchan?’ That whole thing happened then. And it really is about an actor coming in and owning the part and making it, really like giving it their style and their flair and he has that. He has that in spades. So he's gonna do that. Yeah. So he's gonna do a great job. I think the responsibility is more of mine now to make sure that the script of the film works out the way I imagined."

He added, “The filming for Don (3) starts in 2025. We start in January of 2025. So there’s some time away.” When asked what makes a good Don, he said, “Self-confidence, flamboyance and the belief and the ability to do anything that your mind is set on.”

Shah Rukh Khan to commence shooting his next in July or August

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently addressed his upcoming work schedule, confirming the filming commencement of his next project. During an interaction before a Kolkata Knight Riders match versus Mumbai Indians, Shah Rukh revealed his plans to dedicate himself to a new film in the coming months.

Speaking about his decision to take a short break, Khan stated, "I just felt ki main thoda rest kar sakta hoon. Teen filmein kar chuka hoon, it took a lot of physical work also. So I said maybe I’ll take some time off. I told the whole team ki, main matches ko aaunga.”

He further added, “Fortunately, meri shooting ab August main hain, ya July… we plan in June, to June se shuru ho jayegi. So, I am absolutely free to come to all the matches. Main khushi se aata hoon.” This announcement confirms widespread speculation about Khan's next venture. The film in question is expected to be Sujoy Ghosh's action thriller titled King, produced by Siddharth Anand.

Speaking of the project a couple of weeks back, a source informed Bollywood Hungama, “King is an ambitious action film, unlike anyone's imagination. The team has been working on the pre-production for the last year to ensure that all aspects are covered in the right way - from script, to scale and action. Red Chillies Entertainment has always mounted world-class products and King will be no different as the banner is going all out to ensure a grand debut for Suhana Khan.”

Vaani Kapoor to headline Badtameez Gill; Aparshakti Khurana, Paresh Rawal join the cast

Vaani Kapoor is all set to headline the upcoming Bollywood film Badtameez Gill, a coming-of-age drama-comedy produced under the banner of Nicky Vicky Bhagnani Films. Aparshakti Khurrana will portray Kapoor's brother in the film, while veteran actor Paresh Rawal will play her father. The movie's plot unfolds across two locations: Bareilly, a city in northern India, and London. Navjot Gulati, known for his writing credits in films like Running Shaadi, Ginny Weds Sunny, and directing credits including Jai Mummy Di and the upcoming Pooja Meri Jaan, will be at the helm of the project.

Salman Khan Firing Case: Arms supplier dies by suicide in Police custody

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's Bandra residence became the scene of a shocking incident on April 14 when two unidentified assailants opened fire outside his home. The Mumbai Police have made significant progress in the case, but a recent development has cast a shadow on the investigation. One of the accused, Anuj Thapan (32), who allegedly supplied the weapons used in the attack, died by suicide while in police custody on April 26. Thapan, along with another accused, Sonu Subhash Chander (37), were arrested in Punjab a week after the incident. The circumstances surrounding Thapan's suicide are under investigation.

As per a report in NDTV, Thapan, arrested in Punjab days earlier, took his own life in a lock-up toilet despite being guarded by police officers. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, with former police officer PK Jain highlighting the mandatory procedure of treating such incidents as murder cases and questioning all officers present.

Former Maharashtra senior police officer PK Jain highlighted that all deaths in police custody are treated as murder cases, and a thorough investigation will be conducted by the CID (Criminal Investigation Department). Jain further emphasized that lock-ups should be routinely checked for any objects that could be used for self-harm.

According to a report in PTI, all four accused – Thapan, Chander, the two shooters Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21) – are believed to be linked to jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) identifies Bishnoi's gang as being involved in serious crimes including kidnapping, murder, extortion, and smuggling of weapons and drugs.

The Mumbai Crime Branch claims to have gathered strong evidence against Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi, who they have named as the prime suspects in the case. Anmol Bishnoi is reported to have claimed responsibility for the attack, citing a long-standing feud between the Bishnoi gang and Salman Khan stemming from a blackbuck poaching case in 1998.

Following the attack, authorities significantly bolstered Salman Khan's security detail, elevating it to the Y-plus category, one of the highest levels of protection offered in India. Additionally, Khan was granted permission to carry a firearm and reportedly acquired an armoured vehicle for his safety.

The arrest of the shooters, Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, happened shortly after the incident. CCTV footage captured them fleeing the scene on a motorcycle. Further investigation led the police to recover two pistols, magazines, and bullets believed to be the weapons used in the attack from Gujarat's Tapi River. Both Gupta and Pal were initially remanded in police custody until April 29 to allow for further investigation into the motive behind the attack.
