Filmmaker Sawan Kumar Tak passes away; Salman Khan pens an emotional note

Filmmaker Sawan Kumar Tak, who is known for films like Sanam Bewafa, Souten, among others, passed away earlier in Mumbai on Thursday. The filmmaker suffered a heart attack, earlier this evening and reportedly passed away due to multi-organ failure. Salman Khan, who has worked with the filmmaker in Saawan… The Love Season, took to social media to mourn his demise and penned a heartfelt condolence note.

Confirming about the details of his demise, Sawan Kumar Tak’s nephew Navin reportedly told Indian Express.com, “Sawan ji suffered a heart attack at around 4:15 pm today. He died of multiple organ failure. The funeral will be held today evening.” On the other hand, a few hours after his demise, Salman took to Instagram to mourn the demise of Sawaan… The Love Season filmmaker. He said, “May u rest in peace my dear Sawaan ji. Have always loved n respected u.”

In earlier reports, Navin, who is also a Punjabi producer, revealed that the filmmaker was admitted at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai on August 24. He also mentioned that the director suffered from many ailments including weak lungs. He had stated that the filmmaker’s condition was very critical and that he was admitted in the ICU. He had also added that the director is not responding to the treatment well and that his family is praying for him.

Sawan Kumar Tak has directed many films and has also been a lyricist. He has written lyrics for films like Kaho Na… Pyaar Hai and has directed movies like Laila, Bewaffa Se Waffa, Ab Kya Hoga, Hawas, among others. His last film was with Salman Khan, Saawan… The Love Season which released way back in 2006.
