South Korean female group BLACKPINK's recent comeback album Pink Venom MV has broken the record for the third-biggest 24-hour views in YouTube history.
According to Korean media portal Soompi, on August 22, YouTube officially confirmed that BLACKPINK’s Pink Venom had amassed over 90.4 million views in its first 24 hours. This marks the biggest 24-hour music video debut of 2022, as well as BLACKPINK’s biggest music video debut ever.
As per the report, the group surpassed their own record set by 'How You Like That' in 2020. Pink Venom now extends BLACKPINK’s record for the highest number of views ever achieved by a female artist’s music video in its first 24 hours. The album reportedly also earned a spot in the top three biggest 24-hour music video debuts in YouTube history.
Notably, following its release, BLACKPINK's Pink Venom dominated iTunes charts all over the world. It became the first Korean-language song in history to top Spotify’s Global Top Songs chart, and garner 100 million views in just over 29 hours.
