Alia Bhatt reveals how much she was paid for her debut film, Student Of The Year

Alia Bhatt is one of the biggest stars in Bollywood. Thanks to the super-success of her film Gangubai Kathiawadi, a rare Bollywood hit in 2022, and her previous films, she is also one of the highest-paid actresses today. Hence, it was interesting to know how much Alia was paid while working on her debut film, Student Of The Year (2012).

Alia Bhatt reveals how much she was paid for her debut film, Student Of The Year

In a recent interaction with the tabloid Mid-Day, Alia Bhatt was asked about her fees in her first film. The actress revealed that she was paid Rs. 15 lakhs. Instead of splurging it on herself, she gave it to her mother, actor Soni Razdan. She said, “I deposited the cheque straight to my mother and very nicely said, ‘Mamma, you handle the money’. Till date, my mother handles my money.”

Alia Bhatt’s fees of course increased with each passing film. Despite having seen so much of her wealth, that too, before turning 20 or 25, the actress didn’t turn into a spendthrift. She revealed that her CA (Chartered Accountant), who’s also a family friend, gets stressed out with the way she handles her finances. She stated, “(My CA says that) I don’t spend any money, don’t invest, that I need to enjoy a little bit. But I am not much of a spender.”

Alia Bhatt, however, does occasionally splurge. She revealed that the first car she bought, at the age of 19 or 20, was an Audi Q5. However, she added, “I feel very touched and grateful for the privileges. That’s why I believe in giving back, I have set aside a certain amount of money that goes into CSR on a yearly basis, for animals [rights, protection], that I feel very passionately about.”

Besides acting, Alia Bhatt is also a businesswoman. She started a children’s clothing line, Edamamma, and also a production house, titled Eternal Sunshine. Her recently released film Darlings was her first film under this banner and received rave reviews.
