Ranveer Singh recently took the risk of baring it all for a photoshoot for Paper magazine. Needless to say, his naked photoshoot garnered ample attention, of which, a lot of it seems unwanted. While his fans and friends from the industry gushed about his bold move, it looks like there were a few who felt offended by it. Furthermore, it led to an FIR against the actor for outraging a woman’s modesty. While actresses like Alia Bhatt and Sumona Chakravarti came forward to support him, today Vidya Balan expressed her opinion regarding the shoot.
We all know that Vidya Balan has been feminist since the start. Whether it was for her films or her candid statements, she has always spoken her heart and the actress knows how to take it in her stride. So when she was asked recently about her opinion on the naked photoshoot and the FIR against Ranveer Singh, the actress maintained, “Humein bhi aankhen sekhne dijiye na” (Transl: let us also please our eyes a little). Needless to say, her response left everyone around her in splits.

For the uninitiated, Ranveer Singh flaunted his body in a photoshoot where he is seen lying naked on a Turkish carpet. These were taken exclusively for Paper magazines and after the actor shared it online, it spread across platforms like wildfire. A few days after this, a complaint was filed against the actor by a Mumbai based lawyer who accused him of hurting sentiments of women and outraging a woman’s modesty with his photoshoot. Followed by this, the Chembur Police Station registered an FIR against the actor under sections 509, 292, and 294, along with the IT Act.
