Sources say Bhansali has offered the parts of the mentor and pupil to Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh. While Ranveer is fine with playing the passionate musical prodigy Baiju, Devgn apparently has reservations about playing the legendary Tansen. Sources say he has been there, done it before. “In Vipul Shah’s London Dreams in 2009 Devgn played the jealous musician who feels threatened by his friend Salman Khan’s talent. Devgn is not keen to be seen in the space again,” says an informed source. In the original Baiju Bawra in 1952, Surendra had played Tansen and Bharat Bhushan had played Baiju. The Oscar-winning Hollywood film Amadeus is also based on the same story of two talented musicians, the mentor being outdistanced by the pupil. The challenge for Sanjay Bhansali is to create a semi-classical music score to rival Naushad’s monumental score in Baiju Bawra. The original had imperishable classic songs like ‘Tu Ganga Mauj Main Jamuna Ka Dhara’, ‘Oh Duniya Ke Rakhwale’, ‘Man Tarpat Hari Darshan Ko Aaj’ and ‘Bachpan Ki Mohabbat Ko’.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who is currently promoting Motichoor Chaknachoor, said that the initial idea was to make the film in two parts so that question to shelve the project does not arise at all. He said that the first part received a good response and the makers are currently working on the sequel script. He said that he had spoken to Sanjay Raut a few months ago and the producer assured that the second part is in works. While there is no confirmed timeline for the sequel, Nawazuddin Siddiqui shared that the makers were busy with the elections and he is tied up with his films. Since it would require him to get into the skin of the character again, it will take time before the sequel happens. On the work front, Nawazuddin is awaiting his next release Motichoor Chaknachoor, a wedding comedy that is slated for November 15th, 2019 release. He has just wrapped up Bole Chudiyan, helmed by Shamas Nawab Siddiqui. Besides these, he has eight films in his kitty among which The Serious Men, No Man’s Land, and Raat Akeli Hai are in the list to name a few.

UJDA CHAMAN is the story of a man in search of a life partner. Chaman Kohli (Sunny Singh) is a 30-year-old lecturer in Delhi’s Hansraj College. He has faced acute hair loss in the last five years, affecting his self-esteem and also his marriage prospects. His parents, Shashi Kohli (Atul Kumar) and Sushma Kohli (Grusha Kapoor) put his five-year-old picture in his marriage bio-data and when he goes to see a prospective bride, he wears a cap. Sadly, the cap comes off and the prospective bride and her family kick the Kohli’s from their house. Their family astrologer (Saurabh Shukla) adds to their tension as he claims that if Chaman doesn’t get married before his 31st birthday, he’ll remain celibate for life. Chaman tries to find love, first at the marriage ceremony of a friend but it proves futile. Later, he tries to woo a fellow lecturer, Ekta (Aishwarya Sakhuja) but she rejects him as she is already dating someone. All of a sudden, a first-year student, Aaina Ali Khan (Karishma Sharma) shows interest in Chaman. Chaman falls for her but in no time, he realizes that she hung out with him for vested interests. With no other option, Chaman accepts his father’s suggestion and downloads Tinder. He uploads his picture, but by cropping his bald patch. In no time, he matches with Apsara (Maanvi Gagroo), who is overweight and just like Chaman, she too puts a close up picture to hide her so-called imperfection. Both decide to meet and obviously get shocked looking at each other. What happens next forms the rest of the film. UJDA CHAMAN is an official remake of the 2017 Kannada film, ONDU MOTTEYA KATHE (Writer: Raj B Shetty). Danish J Singh's adapted story has immense potential as a lot of people can relate to the goings on shown in the film. But Danish J Singh's screenplay plays spoilsport. The narrative is engaging but only in parts. Danish J Singh's dialogues are funny and matter-of-fact. Abhishek Pathak's direction is not worthy enough. The execution seems a bit amateurish and over-the-top. The manner in which Chaman is ridiculed almost on a daily basis by the students because of his receding hairline is too much. Moreover, the direction style is not consistent. The second half looks very different from the first half. Also, with nothing unique happening in the film, the narrative becomes extremely predictable. On the positive side, a few scenes work like the track of Aaina and the hospital scene. UJDA CHAMAN begins on a fun but very loud note with the initial portions being mildly engaging. The humour looks forced in the scene where Chaman attempts to assault his brother Goldy (Gagan Arora). The track of Aaina is thankfully better but still, the film doesn’t reach a high. The intermission point is interesting and the film seems promising from here on. And the initial portions of the second half are very entertaining as Chaman and Apsara get close. But after a point, nothing novel or interesting happens. The film gets dragging and predictable. The final scene is cute but comes too late in the film.

The Ayan Mukerji fantasy film is currently under production. If the reports are to be believed, Shah Rukh Khan has already allotted the dates for the film to shoot his portion. His character will be a pivotal one to help Ranbir Kapoor’s character Shiva move forward in his journey. He will shoot by the end of the year. In April 2019, Ayan Mukerji had penned a heartwarming post for Shah Rukh Khan. Ayan was an assistant director for Swades and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. Calling SRK his inspiration, obsession, and idol, the filmmaker wrote, "Inspiration. Obsession. Idol. My single biggest love at the movies through my entire childhood and teenage years, leading up the highlight of my 2 assistant director experiences - Swades and KANK [Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna] - which was that I got to be in the presence of Shah Rukh Khan. And when I got very lucky, to be a stand in with him for blocking scenes (This photo is framed and put up in my house by my mother who considered it the height of my achievement obviously)." This won’t be the first time Ranbir Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan will share screen space. In 2016, SRK played Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s ex-husband in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and had a cameo in the film when he meets Ranbir’s character. Alia and SRK have already worked in Dear Zindagi as a mentor and mentee. She even had a cameo in Zero. Brahmastra pair will head to Manali in November for a 15-day schedule. The film is scheduled for the summer 2020 release.
The emotional dialogue between the two divas starts when Shefali tells Mahira that this is her first Diwali away from home. She goes on to say “Otherwise meri jitni bhi Diwali gayi hain, thodi der ke liye hoti toh thi hi pooja ke liye ghar pe.” Mahira tries to lift her spirit and responds “Ab who tujhe dekh rahe honge.” Referring to her family members, Shefali goes on to say “Yaad kar rahe honge aur poore din sochte honge ki kya kar rahi hogi.” Commenting on the format of the show where brawls and disputes are very common, Mahira says “Yaha toh itni saari cheezein hoti hain, jab bahar dikhti hongi toh aisa lagta hoga shit yaar ye kya ho raha hai, andar khoon hi na kar dein.” In total agreement with Mahira, Shefali expresses “Sar fodenge ek doosre ka, ye tension ho rahi hogi gharwalon ko na. Naye logo ke beech mein aap kitna bhi reh lo bonding ho jaati hai initially ya jo bhi, lekin jo strength hai na woh ghar walo se hi hi milti hai koi kitna bhi close ho jaye.” “Of course, tabhi toh khoon ke rishtey khoon ke hote hain,” adds Mahira in a very filmy style. Shefali, who is otherwise known to play the game on her own conditions shows her obedient side and quips “Kuch bhi keh lo at the end aap karoge wahi jo ghar wale keh denge ek baari.” Shefali then goes on to express how in daily lives, we all neglect our family and gives out a priceless piece of advice. “Aur bahar jab hum hote hain, pata nahi time kaise time nikalta jaata hai busy rehte hain idhar udhar kabhi ghumne chale gaye aur yaha aae hain toh soch rahe hain ghar walo ke baare mein. Explaining how keeping your family is of utmost importance, Shefali mentions the little things that matter. She ends the conversation on a emotional note, “Khush rahe yaar bas, parents na khush rehne chahiye. Apne parents ko na jitna ho sake insaan khush rakhe, chhoti chooti cheezein na matter karti hain ek baar unke sath bas baith jao, hug kar lo unse baat kar lo, itna puch lo ki din kaisa gaya koi problem toh nahi hai, toh bhi ghar wale khush ho jaate hain.” Also Read:

“Maharashtra mein jab tak koi rasta nahi nikalta, tab tak anil kapoor ko hi mukhyamantri bana kar dekh lete hain. Parde par unka ek din ka karyalay poore desh ne dekha aur saraha hai. Devendra Fadnavis aur Aaditya Thackeray kya soch hai? (Until we find a solution for Maharashtra, let's make Anil Kapoor the Chief Minister. His one-day act [as a CM] has been witnessed and loved on the big screen by the entire nation. What say, Devendra Fadnavis and Aaditya Thackeray?),' he wrote. Kapoor had a witty response to this. 'I better be the 'Nayak' (actor) only,' he wrote.
An elated Urvashi shares, “I was very nervous when I was shooting for this iconic scene. This recreation is kind of a tribute to the legendary actor from my side and I wanted to do justice to this song. People will enjoy the mood and vibe of the song and I hope they would love it. Pagalpanti is a universal film because anyone between the age of four and eighty can watch it and enjoy the film as well. I feel grateful to get the opportunity to be a part of this iconic song as well as in this film”. Apart from Urvashi, John Abraham is also part of the song. Urvashi has effortlessly danced and graced this beautiful song. It was in her dance that she showed the best of versatility and control as a performer. Pagalpanti features an ensemble of actors including Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Ileana D'Cruz, Arshad Warsi, Pulkit Samrat, and Kirti Kharbanda. The film is set to be released on November 22, 2019. Speaking EXCLUSIVELY to Bollywood Hungama recently during the promotions of Motichoor Chaknachoor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui was asked about working with Athiya Shetty and how one should perform in scenes. "Mujhe aisa lagta hai ki kabhi bhi kisi actor ko aisa ahsaas nahi dilaana chahiye ki you are something. Aap usmein merge ho jao. Kabhi aap jyaada hai, kabhi aap usse kam ho. Yeh pura give and take hona bahut zaroori hota hai. Ki main apni acting lo lekar kisi pe phenk ke maaru ki 'tujhe pata hai main kitna bada actor hoon?'', yeh toh phir uss din se downfall shuru ho jayega. Ek mahaul hota hai aur uss mahaul mein merge hona hota hai aapko. Kabhi kabhi situation aisi hai ki aap usmein kam ho toh kam khelna chahiye aapko. (I feel that one should never make anyone feel that you are something. You should get into the skin of the character. Sometimes, you are above the role, sometimes the character is above you. There should be a full give and take. I can't take my acting too seriously and go around saying that 'you know who I am?'. Your downfall begins from that day onwards. You have to analyze the atmosphere and merge into your character. Sometimes when the situation is where you are less in the scene, you have to play accordingly)," says Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Nawazuddin Siddiqui further talked about what his theatre teacher had taught them. "Hamare ek teacher the, Russian teacher the aur hamare 3rd year mein play karne aaye the. Woh bolte the ki agar kisi scene mein aapki 5 % demand hai toh utna hi karo, usmein extra nikal ke aane koshish na karo kyunki woh dikh jaati hai. Agar aapka character aisa hai ya unka character aisa hai toh woh respect rakhna bahut zaruri hai scenes mein. Agar aap kam ho toh aap kam hi khelo, usko woh respect do. Toh yeh zaruri hota hai. Agar main har jagah apni acting dekhane laga, toh uss din se sab khatam ho jayega.(We had a Russian teacher in 3rd year who had come for a play. He used to say that 'if there is a 5% demand of you in a scene, do not overdo it because it reflects easily. If your character or someone else's character has less screen time, so you should maintain that respect. If you have less time, you should respect that and work accordingly. If I start showing off my acting chops in everything, then it will be over for me)," added Nawazuddin. Motichoor Chaknachoor is set to release on November 15, 2019.
'Alia Bhatt.. writing her own destiny, even between shots,' she wrote. In the picture, Alia, wrapped in a yellow jacket, is seen engrossed in writing something on her notebook. Wonder what was she scribbling!
“Ranveer, Ranbir and Ayushmann have built their fan base with their incredible body of work. While Ranveer and Ranbir have done big ticket or larger than life cinema which have become blockbusters, Ayushmann has delivered six hits in a row with slice of life cinema in which he not only celebrated the heroics of a common man but also gave audiences a message with his cinema. His strong track record has earned him an enviable reputation of being a bankable star. And when you deliver hits and choose the best scripts that the industry is making, your value as a bankable endorser also goes up as there is a lot of credibility that gets attached to the brand,” says an industry insider. The informer adds, “Endorsing a potato chips brand has been a territory of the superstars across years. The reason: such brands have only chosen stars with incredible reach and credibility. And if you look at who is endorsing the top 3 potato chips brands currently, you will see Ranveer, Ranbir and now Ayushmann. This basically goes on to show the rise of Ayushmann’s equity as a star in India. Due to his choice of excellent scripts and a superb run of delivering 6 hits in a row, which includes two big 100 crore blockbusters, he has emerged as one of the most reliable and credible faces in the industry.” Ayushmann’s current line-up includes Bala, Gulabo Sitabo, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan - all premium content films that are much awaited by the industry.
And Salman's appreciation post for his friend is unique too. He shared a clip of SRK from Happy New Year. You hear Salman saying, 'Hero woh hota hai jo aag mein kood ke, bhuja ke, bachaata hai." This, actually, is a revised version of Salman's own dialogue from Sultan which goes, "Mera yeh manana hai ki hero woh hai joh haarta hai... kyun ki wohi jaanta hai jeetne ki asli value."
While there were various reasons given for their fallout - from Salman’s interference in the script and casting to his announcement on Twitter saying Inshallah would release on Eid 2020 without the filmmaker’s knowledge and an upset Bhansali deciding to shelve the movie after that, nobody knows the real reason as neither has spoken about it. Both have moved ahead with their respective films – Salman with Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai and Bhansali with Gangubai Kathiawadi. Says a trade source, “Salman will be shooting for his home production, Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai, from November 4 at Mehboob Studios, in Bandra and the construction of the sets have started a few days ago. But what he didn’t know was that Sanjay Leela Bhansali was also planning to begin shooting at the same studios around the same time. But SLB came to know about it when the set of Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai was being constructed so he decided to shift to Film City, in Goregaon – even though they have shot a song for the same on a set constructed earlier. It’s a nice gesture of SLB to move his set to Film City as he’s a very sensitive and perceptive filmmaker and he must have realized that if he and Salman kept bumping into each other at Mehboob Studios, during each other’s shoots in the future, it could become awkward for them both, with the media getting maximum mileage out it.” The source adds that while Gangubai’s set construction is almost ready in Film City, there was another reason for the change in location. “SLB loves larger-than-life cinema so his shooting will cover two sets in Film City. It’s a sensible decision of the filmmaker to shift his set or it could have become a tense situation for both, even though the parting was amicable. Bhansali was planning to block Mehboob Studio in Bandra for the November shoot as he’s known to shoot in complete secrecy and doesn’t like people taking pictures on their cell phones and leaking out the look of the film and that’s when he came to know about the Radhe shoot. Salman has many people coming to meet him and buzz is that he will do his interviews from the Radhe shoot so plenty of media would also be there. For these reasons, Bhansali decided it was more practical to shift his shoot rather than continue here.” The two movies are completely different in genre – while Gangubai Kathiawadi revolves around a character, who was a brothel-owner in Kamathipura, Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai is an action thriller and about an undercover cop who tracks all over India on a thrilling mission.
