EXCLUSIVE: Shabana Azmi joins the cast of Awarapan 2; to be seen in a pivotal role in the Emraan Hashmi-starrer

Awarapan 2 is surely one of the highly awaited films of 2026, thanks to the craze and popularity of the first part. Moreover, lead actor Emraan Hashmi’s star power got a boost recently with a cameo in The Ba***ds Of Bollywood. And now, the excitement for Awarapan 2 has gone many notches higher as Bollywood Hungama has learned that none other than Shabana Azmi has joined the star cast.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Shabana Azmi has come on board for Awarapan 2. The role is apt for her and she was more than happy to bag the coveted part. It’s an interesting and powerful creative decision by producer Vishesh Bhatt that significantly intensifies the film’s emotional core and conflict. Interestingly, this marks Shabana Azmi’s first-ever collaboration with Vishesh Films.”

The source also said, “Also, Awarapan 2 marks her first on-screen pairing with Emraan Hashmi, creating a new and formidable dramatic tension audiences have never seen before. Moreover, the casting is in sync with the trademark Bhatt storytelling ethos — anchored in strong performances, morally complex characters, and emotionally charged drama.”

However, not much is known about Shabana Azmi’s character at this point. The source said, “All the details remain tightly under wraps. The makers are expected to officially reveal it in a few weeks. Nevertheless, with Shabana ji’s entry, Awarapan 2 now boasts of a unique star combination — Emraan Hashmi, Shabana Azmi and Disha Patani — with more cast additions also expected to surprise audiences.”

Awarapan 2 is directed by Nitin Kakkar of Filmistaan (2014) fame. The film had a long schedule in Bangkok, Thailand and as per reports, the makers plan to wrap up the shoot by January 2026. The film is on track for its release on April 3, 2026.

With Shabana Azmi coming on board, Awarapan 2 is no longer just a much-awaited sequel; it is now positioned as a prestige thriller that blends scale with soul and solid performances.

Apne producer Deepak Mukut miffed with Anil Sharma for calling off Apne 2: "He is not authorized to make such a rash statement"

Producer Deepak Mukut is extremely miffed with director Anil Sharma for saying that the sequel to the Deols’ family film Apne cannot be made without the patriarch of the family.

Affirmed Deepak Mukut, “On the contrary, Apne must be made now, more than ever before. We were working on the project with Dharam ji. Now Sunny (Deol) and I are going to work on Apne as a homage to Dharam ji. He will be there in the project in spirit. Apne featured Dharam ji with Sunny and Bobby. Apne 2 will also have Sunny’s son Karan in stellar role. I will be sitting down with Sunny over this as soon as the mourning period finishes.”

Mukut is surprised and annoyed at Anil Sharma’s announcement on Apne 2 being called off after Dharam ji’s death. “He is not authorized to make such a rash statement. I wonder why he said this. He denies having made such a statement. But how can he be quoted on something so sensitive if he didn’t say it? It is not Anil Sharma’s call to go ahead with the project or not. It is up to Sunny and I to take the project ahead and we are going ahead full throttle. We owe it to Dharam ji and his fans all over the world.”

Since Anil Sharma feels the project cannot move ahead without Dharmaji, would Deepak Mukut consider replacing the director in Apne 2?

“It is a possibility. I am not ruling it out. We may have a new director. That is not important. The important thing is, we are going ahead with Apne 2 as a homage to Dharamji with Sunny, Bobby and Karan Deol.”

EXCLUSIVE: CBFC replaces ‘Harami’ with ‘Kameena’, ‘Sex’ with ‘Aiyaashi’ and ‘The art of lovemaking’ in Gustaakh Ishq

The ‘ishq’ day, November 28, is here for two films with the word ‘ishq’ or ‘ishk’ have released today – Tere Ishk Mein and Gustaakh Ishq. The latter marks the first theatrical release of producer Manish Malhotra and has been noticed due to its lovely trailer, feel-good zone and lead cast. In this article, Bollywood Hungama will exclusively focus on the cut list of Gustaakh Ishq.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) passed Gustaakh Ishq with a U/A 13+ certificate. However, the Examining Committee asked for a few changes. They told the makers to replace ‘Harami’ to ‘Kameena’ and ‘Kameeni’. They also instructed them to replace ‘rascal’ with ‘scoundrel’ in the subtitles. Secondly, ‘sex’ was replaced with ‘aiyaashi’ and ‘the art of lovemaking’. The subtitles were also modified suitably. Thankfully, the CBFC makers didn’t ask for any visual cut as they didn’t feel the need for it in this clean family entertainer, as it's devoid of sex and violence.

Once these changes were made, Gustaakh Ishq was given a censor certificate on November 11. The length of the film, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 128.30 minutes. In other words, Gustaakh Ishq is 2 hours, 8 minutes and 30 seconds.

Gustaakh Ishq stars Vijay Varma, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Naseeruddin Shah and Sharib Hashmi and is directed by Vibhu Puri of Hawaizaada (2015) fame. The film had its successful India premiere on November 24 at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) held in Goa.

At the trailer launch of Gustaakh Ishq, held earlier this month, Fatima Sana Shaikh was asked about the changing definition of love. She remarked, “Earlier, people used to think a lot before professing their love. Then they would put a lot of thought in writing the love letter, which paper should be used to write, whether they should add a flower or perfume. Hence, it used to be a tactile experience. Now, people send memes, smileys. Hence, I long for slow, passionate and deep love. Thoda hasna, thoda rona. Waise type ka pyaar mujhe pasand hai!”

Vijay Varma replied, “Now, we have a tag for everything. If your partner is silent, he’s accused of ghosting! Agar kisi ne kuch bol diya toh toxic ho gaya. Instead of understanding and accepting something, we tend to immediately tag and move on in life. Earlier, silence ka ek mazaa hota tha. Intezaar ka ek mazaa hota tha. There was a joy in meeting and also in not meeting. All that is missing now.”

Kapil Sharma to return to Colors after 11 years in Laughter Chefs: Report

Recent reports suggest that Kapil Sharma is all set to make a much-talked-about return to Colors, marking a significant moment for fans who have long associated the channel with some of his earliest television triumphs. While he is not reviving Comedy Nights With Kapil, the iconic skit-based chat show that made him a household name, the comedian, we hear, is gearing up to be a part of an entirely different show— the comedy cooking reality show Laughter Chefs that is expected to mark a return with its new season soon.

For those who came in late, Comedy Nights With Kapil had once been one of the biggest draws on Indian television, welcoming major Bollywood stars and featuring popular comedians like Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda and many others. The show ended amid reports of a fallout between Kapil and the channel — an incident that unfolded nearly 11 years ago. Despite the long-standing buzz around their differences, the comedian and the network have finally decided to turn the page.

According to industry chatter, Kapil will now be joining Laughter Chefs, a show known for pairing television celebrities in a chaotic, comedy-infused kitchen setting. The new addition is expected to bring a fresh surge of excitement, especially since it will once again see him share screen space with Krushna Abhishek and comedian-host Bharti Singh — a trio the audience has always loved watching together.

For Kapil, this is said to mark a refreshing departure from his usual stage-driven and conversational comedy. The culinary backdrop is expected to be giving him a whole new playground to explore. He will be seen interacting with contestants navigating frantic cooking challenges, last-minute mishaps and kitchen blunders that naturally lead to hilarious outcomes. His spontaneity and quick wit are expected to blend seamlessly with the show’s format, making his presence a major draw for viewers.

Meanwhile, the comedian is juggling an extremely busy schedule. He continues to front multiple seasons of Netflix’s The Great Indian Kapil Show, where he shares screen space with Krushna Abhishek, Sunil Grover, Kiku Sharda, Archana Puran Singh, Navjot Singh Sidhu and others. The series has been performing strongly for the platform and keeps Kapil firmly positioned as one of India’s most bankable entertainers.

Kapil is also gearing up for the theatrical release of his comedy entertainer Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2. The film features an ensemble cast including Hina Warina, Ayesha Khan, Tridha Choudhury, Parul Gulati and Manjot Singh, among others.

With Laughter Chefs, Kapil Sharma’s comeback to Colors marks the beginning of yet another exciting chapter in his television journey — one that brings nostalgia, reunions and brand-new comic chaos.

Sunjay Kapur Estate case takes explosive turn as Shradha Suri’s new statements raise doubts over will’s authenticity

The high-stakes legal battle over industrialist Sunjay Kapur’s estate deepened on Thursday after fresh testimony before the Delhi High Court raised new questions about the authenticity of the Will submitted by his third wife, Priya Sachdev Kapur. Statements made by Shradha Suri Marwah — named as executor in the disputed document — have added further uncertainty to an already contentious dispute involving Kapur’s children, Samaira and Kiaan with none other than actress Karisma Kapoor.

Appearing before the court through her counsel Anuradha Dutt, Suri admitted that her earlier account about how she first received the Will was incorrect. She now claims that the document was not shared by Priya Kapur but by an individual named Dinesh Agarwal, who emailed her on June 14, attaching what he said was Kapur’s Will and instructing her to act as executor. According to Suri, Agarwal later said he had mistakenly sent Kapur’s trust deed instead and re-sent the supposed Will the same day.

The sequence has drawn legal scrutiny, with experts noting that Agarwal had no stated authority to appoint or correspond with an executor, raising questions about the procedural legitimacy of the Will. The court also took note of Suri’s admission that she had no prior knowledge of being appointed executor and had not been informed of this role by Kapur himself.

Suri further stated that she lacked legal assistance at the time and was “trying to figure out what was going on,” suggesting her role emerged only after Kapur’s death and not through his direct instruction. Her request for indemnity from Priya Kapur — unusual for an executor defending a valid Will — has added another layer of concern.

The inconsistencies continued as Suri recounted a meeting on June 24 during which Priya allegedly assured her that the document was Sunjay’s “last and only Will.” However, this claim appears to contradict Priya’s later admission, recorded on August 11, that she was only the nominee to Kapur’s assets and not a beneficiary. Under Indian succession law, nominees are custodians of assets, not inheritors — a distinction that could significantly impact the outcome of the case.

If the Will is ultimately invalidated, Sunjay Kapur’s estate would be distributed equally among all Class I heirs, including his children Samaira and Kiaan — a point acknowledged by Suri’s counsel in court.

The latest developments come against a backdrop of broader concerns raised by the children’s counsel, Mahesh Jethmalani, who has previously pointed to multiple red flags in the document, including factual inaccuracies, pronoun errors, and inconsistent metadata suggesting the Will may not have originated from Kapur’s devices. With Thursday’s testimony escalating doubts instead of resolving them, the case appears poised for a more intensive forensic and procedural review as the court continues its hearings.

The high-profile case has grabbed much attention among Indian media owing to also the involvement of Sunjay Kapur’s children Samaira and Kiaan who are also the kids of popular star Karisma Kapoor. While the children are forefront in the case, Karisma has decided to maintain a dignified silence on the matter, showcasing her respect and support towards the Indian judicial system.

Alaya F reveals SIBO diagnosis during 75-Hard; says she’s been on antibiotics for 50 days

Alaya F has always been the one who genuinely pioneers fitness among the Gen-Z, cementing herself as the true fitness icon who's often celebrated for her commitment and dedication. The actress embarked on a 75-Hard for the second time and documented her progress on her social media. Recently, she announced that she has been diagnosed with SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth), a day before she concludes her 75-Hard.

In her video, the actor shared, “It's day 74 of my 75-Hard of the year; I'm at the finish line. But today, instead of showing you guys progress photos, I actually have a personal story to tell you. You guys are probably used to seeing my stomach look a little like this (toned), but for most of this 75-Hard, my stomach has actually looked like this (bloated).”

She added, “For almost three months, I had a mystery illness that we just couldn't seem to diagnose. It turned out to be a severe case of something called SIBO, which causes constant bloating, terrible fatigue, inflammation, nutrient malabsorption, slow muscle recovery, low strength and brain fog. Basically, it's the worst thing that can happen to you while you're on a 75-Hard. And I've been on antibiotics for over 50 days now. It's safe to say that this 75-Hard was completely different from the last time I did it.”

She further revealed how this 75-Hard was different. “Last time, my workouts were about pushing myself to my limits. This time, it was just about showing up and getting the bare minimum done. Last time, I watched my body sculpt and transform - this time, I wasn't seeing any progress. I was only seeing symptoms. Last time, I kept adding more habits, more structure, more intensity. But this time, it was just about completing exactly what was required and letting that be enough.”

For Alaya, fitness has always been about consistency. “I realized that it's super easy to feel proud when everything looks great, but it's truly life-changing to feel proud when nothing looks great. So I suppose this 75-Hard taught me the most important lesson of them all. The true discipline is never about intensity; it's always about consistency,” she concluded.

Ram Madhvani, Mahaveer Jain discuss cinema’s role in nation building at IFFI 2025: "We have forgotten the tragic hero"

National Award-winning filmmaker and Emmy-nominated director Ram Madhvani, and acclaimed Indian film producer Mahaveer Jain came together at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa for an engaging conversation on “The Power and Impact of Our Stories on Nation Building”. The engaging session was moderated by Divyansh Jain, the youngest producer and director of the film industry at present.

Founded in 1952, IFFI remains the only South Asian film festival accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers’ Associations (FIAPF) in the Competitive Feature Films category. Each year, it continues to curate and celebrate landmark cinema from across the globe.

The insightful session featuring Mahaveer Jain and Ram Madhvani explored storytelling, the values that guide creators, and the cultural influences shaping their work, while also highlighting filmmakers’ responsibility and cinema’s emotional impact.

Talking about the cultural values that India holds, cinematic philosopher Ram Madhvani shared, “India has always been a civilisation shaped by stories. Whether it is the Ramayana or the Mahabharata, these epics were more than tales; they were moral compasses, emotional guides, and reflections of who we are. As creators today, we inherit that legacy. Our responsibility is to craft stories that not only entertain but also carry forward the values, questions, and memories that define us. I believe storytelling is a sacred act, one that allows us to understand ourselves better and to show the world who India truly is.’’

Further speaking about India’s cultural and spiritual legacy, renowned producer Mahaveer Jain emphasized the importance of sharing the country’s ancient wisdom with global audiences through cinema and entertainment. He noted “We have solutions for everything in the ancient wisdom that our own sages have given us,” noted Mahaveer Jain. “If India can gift something to the entire world, it is this - our ancient wisdom. This wisdom is what we should be propagating through the entertainment medium, which is also what I request you all to do,” he observed.

Speaking about his filmmaking approach and the emotion he strives to evoke in audiences, visionary director Ram Madhvani shared, “I am interested in tragedy. We have forgotten the tragic hero. We have the romantic, action and comedy heroes, but the tragic hero or heroine - Meena Kumari, Dilip Kumar, even Shah Rukh Khan - are people who actually affected us. Tragedy is a thing I feel that we are missing. In everything that I do, the one nerve that I want to press, to cleanse you is to make you cry. With everything that you are going through in your life - if I can use the work that I am putting out there to try and see how you can achieve catharsis, that is what I would like to do.”

He also added, “Guide was one of the greatest spiritual films made in India. I aspire to make another one!”

The International Film Festival of India continues to serve as a vital platform where filmmakers, producers, and storytellers come together to explore cinema’s role in shaping culture, identity, and national narrative.

EXCLUSIVE: Dharmendra’s family to host ‘Celebration Of Life’ memorial on November 27; Sonu Nigam to sing his evergreen hits

Legendary actor Dharmendra, who passed away on November 24, 2025, will be remembered in a special way by his family and loved ones. Bollywood Hungama has learned that instead of a conventional prayer meet, the Deols are organising a heartfelt ‘Celebration Of Life’ that mirrors the way the superstar lived – large-hearted, warm and king size.

The remembrance gathering will be held on Thursday, November 27, 2025, in the evening at Taj Lands End, Bandra, Mumbai. The Deol family will be in attendance along with other near and dear ones from their extended family, as well as the film industry.

An insider told Bollywood Hungama, “In a moving gesture, the family has invited Sonu Nigam to perform some of the most memorable songs picturised on Dharmendra over the decades. The singer is expected to render evergreen numbers that defined the star’s on-screen romance and charisma...melodies that generations have grown up with and still hum with affection. The idea is to let music do what Dharmendra’s own films often did: bring smiles, wipe tears and celebrate love, friendship and togetherness.”

Close family members, friends and colleagues from the film fraternity are expected to gather on the lawns overlooking the Arabian Sea to remember the “He-Man” of Hindi cinema – the charming hero of Phool Aur Patthar, Sholay, Chupke Chupke, Satyakam, etc, the lovable patriarch of Apne and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, and the ever-gracious gentleman off-screen. Instead of a sombre, quiet ceremony, the evening is being envisioned as a warm reunion of people whose lives he touched over a career spanning more than six decades.

With music, memories and anecdotes, Dharmendra’s ‘Celebration Of Life’ aims to capture the spirit of a star who laughed generously, loved deeply and remained forever young in the hearts of his audience.

SCOOP: Single screens in a fix as Tere Ishk Mein’s 2-week condition risks shrinking Dhurandhar’s show count

Tere Ishk Mein will release in 2 days from now, and it is all set to spring a surprise at the box office, going by the advance booking trends. However, the ticket sales are yet to start in several single screens. Bollywood Hungama has learned that the distributors of the Dhanush-Kriti Sanon starrer have made a certain demand to the single-screen owners, which the latter have not yet agreed upon.

A trade source told Bollywood Hungama, “AA Films, owned by Anil Thadani, has asked the single-screens to sign an agreement stating that they’ll play all shows of Tere Ishk Mein this week. All theatres have agreed to this directive. But the distribution team has further instructed the theatres that they will have to commit 2 shows of Tere Ishk Mein next week. Only when these two conditions are met will they get to release Tere Ishk Mein.”

The source continued, “Dhurandhar releases next Friday, December 5. Hence, if single screen hall owners agree to the demand put forth by AA Films, they’ll have to play the Ranveer Singh-starrer with just 2 shows in order to accommodate Tere Ishk Mein. The theatre owners have reservations with this arrangement as they want to give reasonable showcasing to Dhurandhar as well.”

The source also said, “The single screens are hoping that this deadlock is resolved soon. They are keen to play Tere Ishk Mein, looking at the advance booking. None of the releases this month have scored in their theatres. The last one, which was successful, was Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, which released more than a month ago. Even this mass-friendly film didn’t release in the first week in many single screen properties. As a result, they are very eager to play the massy flick Tere Ishk Mein and also Dhurandhar.”

As of 8:00 am on November 26, booking of Tere Ishk Mein is yet to begin at Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir, PVR Le Reve Bandra, Inox Nakshatra Dadar, MovieMax Andheri East, MovieTime Suburbia, Mukta A2 Orion Santacruz, Gold Cinema Dadar, MovieTime Dahisar, New Excelsior, Citylight Mahim, MovieTime Star City Matunga, Plaza Dadar and Chitra Dadar. The advance booking, meanwhile, has begun in Regal, Gold Cinema Thane, Gold Cinema Borivali, Anand Thane, Kasturba Malad and Roxy Charni Road. In the last two cinemas, 4 shows of Tere Ishk Mein will be played, while one show of the Gujarati blockbuster Laalo has been allotted at 7:30 pm.

This has given hopes that a solution will be achieved soon and the bookings of the film will commence across the country in full force.

Set inside a prestigious college in Delhi, the series explores identity, ambition, and the complicated nature of young relationships through the story of Rajveer Ahlawat, a 19-year-old boy from Safidon, Haryana, whose world tilts after one defining moment changes how everyone sees him.

The teaser opens with a striking visual of Rajveer in his boxing gear, framing him as someone who meets life head-on. It then cuts to a sweeping angle of him standing alone on the vast campus he’s about to claim for himself. From there, the footage drops viewers into the pulse of his new reality: hostel madness, campus politics, sharp-tongued banter, and adrenaline-heavy boxing scenes. All of it paints the world he’s stepping into, a place fuelled by hierarchy, privilege, and the unspoken demand to constantly prove your worth. Within those flashes lies a hint of the humiliation that pushes Rajveer into a reckless choice, setting the tone for a story driven by pride, love, and consequence.

Rajkumar Hirani brings storytelling wisdom to IFFI, breaking down the art of writing and editing: "Writing imagines emotion, editing experiences it"

Lights dimmed and anticipation filled the air at IFFI as audiences gathered for a masterclass that felt more like an energising creative session than a traditional workshop. When filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani arrived at the Kala Academy Hall, the atmosphere lifted instantly. By the end of the event, writers were jotting down ideas, editors were nodding in recognition, and cinephiles were visibly inspired.

Hirani shared practical insights and clear principles that have shaped his career. “Writing is emotion imagined; editing is emotion experienced. The writer writes the first draft, the editor the last. Theme is the soul of a film, while conflict is its oxygen,” he said, setting the tone for his session titled “Film is Made on Two Tables — Writing and Editing.”

He described writing as a space of creative freedom—where skies are endless, actors are perfect, and no constraints exist. However, he emphasised that once this material reaches the editing table, reality reshapes it. According to him, a story truly begins only when a character wants something deeply, and conflict gives the narrative life.

Rajkumar Hirani encouraged writers to draw from real experiences. “A good writer must pick triggers from life. Real experiences make stories unique and relatable,” he noted. He also reminded the audience that exposition should blend naturally into the drama and that the film’s theme should quietly guide every scene.

Speaking with affection for his first craft—editing—Hirani highlighted the editor’s unseen influence. He explained that while the shot is the basic unit of editing, shifting its context can completely alter meaning. “An editor can flip a story 180 degrees,” he said, adding that their work often remains invisible but is central to holding a film together.

Referencing early cinema, he recalled DW Griffith’s observation that a skilled editor shapes audience emotion. Hirani reinforced this idea with a line that echoed throughout the hall: “The writer writes the first draft. The editor writes the last.”

He also underlined the importance of strong antagonists. “Every character believes they are right,” he said, stressing that the tension between opposing yet valid viewpoints creates the energy that drives a story.

Screenwriter Abhijat Joshi joined the conversation, reflecting on the value of memory in storytelling. He explained that certain real-life moments—funny, painful, or surprising—stay with people for years and often hold more authenticity than purely invented scenes. He shared that many such memories helped shape 3 Idiots, from the electric-shock joke to subtle character traits inspired by people he had observed.

Joshi concluded with essential screenwriting reminders: every character must want something meaningful, conflict fuels cinema, and the strongest drama arises when two genuine truths collide.

Sharmila Tagore on missing out on Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani with Dharmendra, “I fell ill and couldn’t do the film”

“We shared the same birthday. He was my co-star in seven films. I knew he was not keeping good health. But the news of his passing is still very saddening,” said Sharmila Tagore, who worked in films as far-ranging as Satyakam and Chupke Chupke with Dharmendra.

She reflected on their screen togetherness. “We first worked together in Devar and then during the same year in Anupama. Two very serious subjects, followed by an out-and-out commercial film Mere Humdum Mere Dost. Shooting with him was a breeze. He was as effortless on screen as he was off it. He was never ‘The Star’ on the sets, always his natural self. There was nothing put-on about him.”

Sharmila Tagore recalled her first meeting with Dharmendra. “Before we worked together, we met when I was shooting with Yash Chopra’s Waqt. I don’t know in what context he was there. But I remember he was dressed… how shall I put it… not like a star at all. When someone complimented him, he hugged that person with such sincerity. That genuineness stayed with him.”

Sharmila ji missed the opportunity to work with Dharamji in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. “I fell ill and couldn’t do the film. The last film we did together was Sunny, where he did a small guest appearance for his son Sunny (Deol)’s sake. I had spoken to him about a documentary, which a lady was making on me. She wanted to speak to Dharam ji. He, of course, said very good things about me. I wish we had more opportunities to interact.”

She singled out Chupke Chupke as the highpoint of their collaboration. “Wherever I go, fans mention Chupke Chupke as their favourite. I am sure Dharmendra also got the same reaction from the public. When I was ill, I watched Chupke Chupke and laughed quite a lot. It is a rare comedy that continues to be funny over the years. We don’t make too many genuinely funny comedies.”

EXCLUSIVE: Ahmed Khan shares EXCITING updates: “Welcome To The Jungle expected to release in mid-2026; Baap is a post-production-HEAVY film and has full RETRO vibes…all 4 actors are playing COOL characters”

Ahmed Khan is on a roll. His upcoming comic caper, Welcome To The Jungle, is shaping up well and his production, Baap, will also release soon since the shoot has been wrapped up. And that’s not all. Rangeela (1995), the film that made him a force to reckon with, will re-release in cinemas on November 28. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Ahmed Khan spoke in detail about Rangeela and then also opened up about his upcoming projects.

When asked about Welcome To The Jungle, Ahmed Khan said, “We recently shot the film in Mumbai and Dubai as well. It was a long, 12-day schedule. In December, we will wrap up the climax.”

When will Welcome To The Jungle be out in cinemas? He replied, “It will be released in mid-2026.”

Welcome To The Jungle is produced by Firoz A. Nadiadwallah stars Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Johny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh, Rahul Dev, Mukesh Tiwari, Sharib Hashmi, Inaamulhaq, Zakir Hussain, Yashpal Sharma, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani and child actor Vrihi Kodvara.

Baap, meanwhile, stars Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt, Mithun Chakraborty, and Jackie Shroff and is directed by Vivek Singh Chauhan. The film has been delayed quite a bit and Ahmed Khan explained, “Its post-production is going on. It’s a very post-production-heavy film. That only took 9 months. It also has too much action. I left it on Zee Studios as they are the studio partners. They’ll soon announce the release date. Hum unko bol bol ke thak gaye ‘Film kab theatre mein daal rahe hai’ (laughs)!”

When asked if Baap would release in cinemas after Sunny Deol’s highly awaited Border 2, he replied in the affirmative and said, “All four actors are playing cool characters. It’s the first time you’ll see all of them together. It has full retro vibes.”

Remembering Saroj Khan

November 22 was the birth anniversary of Saroj Khan, who was Ahmed Khan’s guru. The choreographer-filmmaker remembered her and said, “She’s engraved in my heart. You can’t forget certain people. Woh aapke rehnuma hote hai. Rasste sab ko dikthe hai; lekin uspe chalna kaise hai, woh seekhna bahut zaroori hai. That’s when you need certain people to guide you and Saroj ji was one of them for me. Even today, when I am stuck, I shut my eyes and think of her. I ask myself, ‘What would Saroj ji have done in this situation?’. Instantly, I get my answer somehow. I have been blessed to work with her.”

He also credited his Rangeela director and others, “Similarly, I was lucky to work with Ram Gopal Varma too. I learned cinematography from Ashok Mehta; I had assisted him as well. And I also worked with Mukul Anand.”

When asked if Ahmed ever worked on Mukul Anand’s Agneepath (1990) or some other film, he revealed, “I worked with him in ads made by MAD Films. I later worked on his film Trimurti (1995). It was the film in which I worked with Saroj Khan, Ashok Mehta and Mukul Anand…the three greats! Also, as a child, I learned from the man himself, Shekhar Kapur. So, I am fortunate to have worked with the legends.”

SCOOP: Salman Khan considering reclaiming his traditional Eid slot with Battle Of Galwan; might clash with Toxic and Dhamaal 4

Bollywood Hungama has been at the forefront in delivering exciting and exclusive news about Battle Of Galwan, one of the most-awaited films of 2026. It stars Salman Khan in a never-before-seen avatar, as evident from the first look of the film. The film’s shoot is about to get over and the makers have still not announced the release date of the film. Earlier this month, we reported that the makers are considering releasing the film in June. But now, Bollywood Hungama has learned that Salman Khan is also eyeing the Ramzan Eid holiday.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “It’s common knowledge that Salman Khan and Eid are synonymous with each other. Earlier, Salman Khan decided not to bring Battle Of Galwan on Eid, that is, March 19, 2026, as the slot was already taken by Toxic, starring KGF star Yash and the multi-starrer Dhamaal 4. But now, the superstar is toying with the idea and considering if his war film can arrive on the holy festival.”

The source further said, “The shoot would be wrapped up in December and hence, Battle Of Galwan will be ready by March. Moreover, his fans will be overjoyed if the film is announced as an Eid release. Hence, Eid is a date that he’s seriously considering and he plans to take a call on the same soon.”

It now remains to be seen whether Salman Khan announces Battle Of Galwan’s release date on his much-awaited 60th birthday next month or before the landmark occasion. It also remains to be seen whether Toxic or Dhamaal 4 will make way once the superstar decides to reclaim his traditional Eid release date.

If Battle Of Galwan does release on March 19 next year, it’ll be Salman Khan’s 17th Eid release, the other 16 being Judwaa (1997), Kyon Ki (2005), Jaan-E-Mann (2006), Wanted (2009), Dabangg (2010), Bodyguard (2011), Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Kick (2014), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), Sultan (2016), Tubelight (2017), Race 3 (2018), Tubelight (2017), Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai (2021), Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (2023) and Sikandar (2025).

Prabhas–Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit begins filming; muhurat held in Hyderabad with Chiranjeevi as the chief guest

Spirit, starring Prabhas and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, officially went on floors today, November 23. The team conducted a muhurat ceremony to mark the beginning of the shoot, attended by Triptii Dimri, producer Bhushan Kumar, Pranay Reddy Vanga, Shiv Chanana and megastar Chiranjeevi, who joined as the chief guest. Although Prabhas was present for the puja, he was not seen in the photos shared by the production team.

The film marks Vanga’s first collaboration with Prabhas, and anticipation has been steadily building since October, when the director released a special birthday surprise for the actor. On October 24, Vanga unveiled what he described as a “Sound Story,” an audio-led teaser that sets the tone for Spirit.

The teaser opens with a prison backdrop, introducing a tense exchange between a jailer and his team as they prepare to handle a former police officer-turned-prisoner. The most discussed moment arrives when Prabhas’s voice is heard saying, “Sir, since childhood I have one bad habit,” hinting at the character’s intense personality.

Produced by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures, Spirit is positioned as a large-scale pan-world action drama with Prabhas playing a fierce and uncompromising cop. Triptii Dimri joins him in a key role, adding to the film’s growing buzz.

The “Sound Story,” released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, has already generated significant online engagement. By unveiling the teaser on Prabhas’s birthday, the makers offered fans an early glimpse into what Sandeep Reddy Vanga describes as one of the most ambitious projects of his career.

With filming now underway, Spirit moves into its next phase of production, and further details are expected in the coming months.

Karisma Kapoor renews Rs 66 lakhs Bandra apartment lease amid battle over Sunjay Kapur’s Rs 30,000-crores estate: Report

Karisma Kapoor has made headlines once again, this time for a major personal move amid an ongoing legal dispute over her late ex-husband Sunjay Kapur's colossal estate. The actress, whose children Samaira Kapur and Kiaan Raj Kapur are currently embroiled in a legal battle with Sunjay Kapur’s widow, Priya Sachdev Kapur, has reportedly renewed the lease on her luxury Bandra West apartment. According to documents reviewed by Square Yards, Karisma has signed a new one-year agreement for her swanky residence in the Grand Bay Condominium on Hill Road, Bandra West, with the total lease value pegged at Rs 66.12 lakhs.

This premium apartment spans a generous 2,200 sq ft and includes three dedicated car parking spaces, further underlining its exclusive appeal. The renewed lease was registered on November 14, 2025, and required a stamp duty payment of Rs 17,100 along with registration charges of Rs 1,000. A security deposit of Rs 20 lakhs has been included in the agreement, while the monthly rent is set at Rs 5.51 lakhs for the duration of the one-year term, totaling Rs 66.12 lakhs for the full period. The space continues to be rented out to Kongsberg Maritime India Pvt Ltd, the same company that has held the lease previously. Under the earlier agreement, signed in November 2023, the monthly rent amounted to Rs 5 lakhs for the first year and Rs 5.25 lakhs for the second, reaching Rs 1.23 crore across two years.

This property update comes at a time when Karisma’s family finds itself at a pivotal juncture in the continuing estate dispute. Recent courtroom developments saw Karisma’s legal team claim that Samaira’s university fees remained unpaid due to lack of clearance by the estate’s managers. However, this assertion was vigorously challenged in court by Priya Sachdev Kapur, who presented receipts showing the fees had indeed been paid — Rs 95 lakhs per semester — with the next instalment only due in December, as confirmed by her lawyer Sheyl Trehan.

The central issue, however, remains the contested will of Sunjay Kapur. Karisma’s children have alleged that their stepmother Priya forged or altered the will to exclude them from Sunjay’s estimated Rs 30,000-crores estate. Priya Kapur’s legal counsel, led by senior advocate Rajiv Nayar, has dismissed these claims outright, arguing in court that it is common for a husband to leave all his assets to his wife, referencing family tradition as precedent.

Sunjay Kapur, an eminent industrialist, passed away in London this past June following a polo match, a tragedy that has since sparked a high-profile legal battle between his widow and children. Both parties continue to present evidence, receipts, and arguments to the Delhi High Court as the case unfolds.

"Samaira and Kiaan being robbed of everything that is rightfully theirs": Sunjay Kapur's sister Mandhira accuses Priya Sachdev of theft, withholding transparency

The inheritance dispute within the Kapur family has escalated sharply after Mandhira Kapur launched a pointed attack on her late brother Sunjay Kapur’s widow, Priya Sachdev Kapur. Speaking on the podcast InControversial with Pooja Chadhuri, Mandhira called the ongoing situation “major theft. Major fraud. Pure robbery,” as she questioned the legitimacy of the Will presented before the Delhi High Court.

Mandhira claimed Priya demanded confidentiality at every step of the process. “You wanted an NDA. You wanted the Will in a sealed envelope. And now you don’t want a forensic. What are you hiding? How many games are we going to play?” she said, alleging that attempts were made to keep crucial information from the family.

She added that she intends to contest the matter completely: “As far as I go, I'm going to fight this till the end. Who is she not to pay the tuition fees, dude? It's not her money that she's claimed it. This is pure robbery. This is what you call major theft. This is what you call major fraud. And this country needs to wake up and see it.”

According to Mandhira, her mother, Rani Kapur, was asked to sign documents “behind closed doors” shortly after Sunjay’s death. “My mother doesn’t know what she signed. She was overwhelmed, grieving and vulnerable. This family has been ripped off everything that belongs to us.”

Mandhira argued that the family’s role in building the Kapur legacy is being overwritten. “There is a family in which there were five of us who built this with dad. You can't cut us off.” Accusations of bloodline erasure One of Mandhira’s strongest objections concerns the way the Will identifies Sunjay’s children. “Safira has been called the daughter (in the Will). Samaira is the daughter -- not Safira. Safira is the stepdaughter. Her biological father (Vikram Chatwal) is alive,” she said.

The Will reportedly names Priya and her two children — Safira and Azarius — while leaving out Sunjay’s biological children, Samaira and Kiaan. “Nobody is denying that my brother cared for Safira,” Mandhira added. “But don’t take over when Samaira is there. Don’t name Safira ‘the daughter.’ She is the stepdaughter. Stop rewriting lineage.”

Her concerns align with arguments raised by senior counsel Mahesh Jethmalani before the Delhi High Court, who questioned the inconsistencies and “digitally suspicious” nature of the Will. Digital metadata under spotlight Jethmalani earlier told the court that the document did not originate from Sunjay’s devices. Instead, metadata indicated it was created on the computer of Nitin Sharma, a Sona BLW employee with no personal connection to the Kapur family.

“Who prepared this Will?” he asked, highlighting that it was created and modified on 17 March—when Sunjay was in Goa with his son, Kiaan.

Mandhira echoed this concern: “You’re on holiday with your child — and simultaneously disinheriting him? Stop insulting our intelligence.”

The digital trail shows that the file was scanned and converted to PDF on 24 March at 10:06 a.m., moments before a WhatsApp group titled Family Office IC was created, including Priya, Sharma and aide Dinesh Agarwal. A senior family associate described the sequence as “the theatre of grief, not the truth of it.” A deeper pattern, says the family Mandhira recalled an earlier incident involving her father: “There was a fight in my house one day with my dad and my brother, where my dad very clearly told him in Delhi. But he said to her, I will never look at her. I never want her around me. She's not welcome into my house. Today you've taken over the damn house.”

She added that the Will is part of a broader shift in control. After Sunjay’s passing, the Kapur name was removed from the Sona BLW promoter group within one quarter. “My brother led the legacy. He didn’t create the wealth — my father did,” she said.

Mandhira also claimed that Sunjay himself never intended for Priya to control any part of the Sona Group. She referenced Priya’s earlier removal from the board of AIPL in May 2023, followed by her return in 2025. “When you hear the whispers going around, you'll understand what's going on… I mean, the whispers are very clear that there was problems in the marriage.”

“Priya should be ashamed to be walking around representing our family. This is our estate. Our inheritance,” she added.

She also said that her mother can no longer enter their Rajokri home, despite building it “brick by brick.” “My mother sat under a tree supervising the labourers. Today, she cannot even enter her own home.” Criticism of aides and isolation of the family Mandhira criticised long-time aides Dinesh Agarwal and Nitin Sharma: “They are little Priya’s puppets,” she said. “I grew up around them. They worked for my father. Where is their loyalty? Shame on them.”

She added that both have cut off all communication with the family. “This family has been cut off from everything. It’s intentional. It’s strategic.” Impact on the children Mandhira emphasised the consequences for Sunjay’s first two children. “Those two kids, Samaira and Kiaan — they’ve lost their best friend. And now they’re being robbed of everything that is rightfully theirs.” She also accused Priya of withholding basic expenses: “Who is she not to pay the school fees? It’s not her money. This is major theft. Major fraud.” Possibility of settlement Despite the ongoing conflict, Mandhira said there is a path to resolution. “If everything my mother signed post-2017 is shown to my sister and our lawyers, they will sit at the table.” Until then, she insists: “I will not let her take my father’s legacy away. I will fight till the end.”

120 Bahadur producers agree to list all Kumaon regiment soldiers in the end credits after Delhi HC hearing

The producers of the film 120 Bahadur have informed the Delhi High Court that they will honour and list every one of the 120 soldiers of the Kumaon regiment who fought in the historic 1962 Battle of Rezang La in the movie’s end credits.

Court’s Directive and Producers' Response

During a hearing before a Division Bench comprising Justices Prathiba M Singh and Shail Jain, the film's counsel gave an assurance to acknowledge the collective sacrifice of these soldiers, especially the Ahir (Yadav) community, in both theatrical and Over-The-Top releases. This directive comes in response to a public interest litigation by the Sanyukt Ahir Regiment Morcha, which had demanded explicit recognition of Ahir (Yadav) bravery in the film.

Controversy Surrounding the Film’s Portrayal

The PIL argued that of the 120 soldiers in the company, 114 were martyred, and 113 belonged to the Ahir (Yadav) community. Critics claim that the film distorts historical facts by focusing primarily on Major Shaitan Singh—fictionalized as Major Bhati (played by Farhan Akhtar)—thereby undermining the group’s regimental identity and broader community contribution. The petitioners sought not only factual corrections but also a renaming of the movie to "120 Vir Ahir" and the inclusion of all soldiers' names and an appropriate disclaimer.

Court Ruling and Film Release

The court acknowledged the late stage of the film’s production, which is set to release in theatres on November 21, and declined to direct a change of title. It disposed of the plea by mandating that all soldiers' names be featured in the end credits, ensuring collective acknowledgment and respect for their sacrifice.

INSIDE SCOOP: The REAL REASON why Aditya Dhar is releasing Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar in two parts

Bollywood Hungama created a stir in the industry by breaking the news that Aditya Dhar and Jio Studios have decided to release their next, Dhurandhar, in two parts. While many refused to believe the news in the beginning, the development is confirmed and has been widely rechecked by several industry sources. And now, we at Bollywood Hungama bring to you the real reason for this decision.

Contrary to popular belief, Dhurandhar was always planned as a one-part film; however, Aditya Dhar shot much beyond what was on paper. "The characters and world have a lot of scope, and hence, Dhar shot for all the sequences by his conviction. He thought that he would wrap up the entire film in one part, as all films have the journey of improvisation on the set. However, when he watched the entire footage, it was becoming difficult to wrap up all the conflict in a single film," a source told Bollywood Hungama.

The source also shared, "It's a film which organically transformed into a two-parter based on the demand of the story. It was in the first week of October that Aditya Dhar and Jio Studios decided to split the film into two parts, as a film of this scale warranted showcasing in the longer format. The film was not designed as a two-parter, but destined to be a two-parter. Both the films will have a proper start, middle and end as every beat of the story is a climax in itself, bringing in an adrenaline rush." The decision was taken on the edit table, once the entire shoot was wrapped up, as no one knew the impact of the already shot footage until they actually saw it.

It was a seamless process to split the story of Dhurandhar into two parts, and the output now is even better. "A one-part film would have looked like a rushed job. The makers are confident that the hook of the first Dhurandhar film will keep the audience waiting for a lot more. The first part will set up the story, and the turmoil, which all explodes in the sequel, will deliver 2x the violence and edge-of-the-seat moments. In a nutshell, with so many exciting characters, it's a story that can't be told in a single film."

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar also stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal in lead roles.

There will also be special movie screenings for school children every day, featuring titles like Kaphal: Wild Berries (Hindi), Gattu (Hindi), Banarasi Jasoos (Hindi), The Prince and the Crown of Stone (English) and Naal 2 (Marathi), among others.

Beyond the main venue, PictureTime will also roll out open-air screenings across multiple sites in North and South Goa enabling local residents to access festival films.

Sushil Chaudhary, Founder & CEO, PictureTime Digiplex, said it is an honour for PictureTime to collaborate with NFDC and ESG for IFFI. Their association with the event began in 2017 when the team organised Bioscope Village.

"Bringing our mobile digital movie theatres to a festival of this scale underscores how far this technology has come — from remote villages to one of the world’s most respected film events. Our goal has always been to democratise cinema, to take high–quality film experiences to audiences who may never have had access to such spaces, and IFFI gives us a powerful platform to demonstrate that mission in action.

"This year’s programming — ranging from Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic classics to acclaimed contemporary titles like 12th Fail and Manjummel Boys — reflects the diversity and cultural richness of Indian cinema. We are especially excited about the screenings curated for children and young students, because nurturing early audiences is essential for the future of film appreciation.

"With the Kala Academy inflatable theatre and our units enabling open-air screenings across Goa, we hope to create a festival experience that is immersive, inclusive, and truly celebratory of Indian cinema’s storytelling power. PictureTime remains committed to innovating how cinema is created, consumed, and accessed across the country," he added.

The inflatable theatre at Kala Academy is expected to welcome over 1,000 visitors daily, ranging from global delegates and film professionals to school groups and cinephiles. Open-air screenings across Goa are projected to draw an additional 300–400 viewers per location, daily.

Parineeti and Raghav, who tied the knot in Udaipur last year, have stepped into this new chapter with gratitude and grace.

EXCLUSIVE: CBFC passes 120 Bahadur with ZERO cuts; makers of Farhan Akhtar-starrer go for strategic, limited release

The Farhan Akhtar-starrer 120 Bahadur is all set to be released this Friday, November 21, and it has impressed the audience with its subject and authenticity, as evident from the trailer. In a unique move, the paid previews of the film were held across the country on Tuesday, November 18. The norm is to organize previews on Thursday, a day before release. And now, Bollywood Hungama makers have learned that the distributors, AA Films, have decided on an interesting strategy for the war drama.

A trade source told Bollywood Hungama, “The makers, Excel Entertainment, and the distributors, AA Films, have decided to provide a limited release to the film. The idea is to release the film in cinemas which is highly frequented by its target audience, that is, the elite and the ones who are interested in such high-quality films. In mass-dominated single-screens and multiplexes and in B and C centres, the distributors will either skip the release or ask them to go for limited showcasing.”

The trade source continued, “They have decided to release the film in around 900-1000 screens. The strategy will work well with the film and if there’s demand, the shows can be increased over the weekend or on the weekdays.”

The trade source informed, “Mastiii 4 also releases this Friday and it’s meant for the masses. Hence, there will be no clash over show-sharing for these two films as they are targeting different sets of audiences. The makers of the sex comedy plan to go wide in mass centres and in the hinterland.”

No cuts for 120 Bahadur

Meanwhile, 120 Bahadur has been passed with no cuts by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). There was concern among moviegoers after the trailer of the film, which was played in cinemas, replaced the dialogue ‘Ahir hai hum’ with ‘Fauji hai hum’. This led to many netizens assuming that the said cut would also be enforced in the film. As a result, CBFC was trolled for it.

But the final version of the film doesn’t have the aforementioned modification. Moreover, despite being a war film, the Examining Committee of the CBFC did not ask for any visual cuts as well, as the action scenes are not too gory or disturbing. Accordingly, the film was given a U/A 13+ certificate on November 6.

The length of 120 Bahadur, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 137 minutes. In other words, the film is 2 hours and 17 minutes long.

Saif Ali Khan makes major real estate move; buys commercial offices worth Rs. 30.75 crores in Mumbai

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has added yet another prime asset to his real estate portfolio, this time in Mumbai’s thriving commercial district of Andheri East. According to property registration documents, the actor has purchased two office units in the Kanakia Wallstreet building for a total consideration of Rs. 30.75 crore.

The combined area of the newly acquired offices measures 5,681 sq ft and includes six dedicated parking spaces. The seller of the property is Apiore Pharmaceutical, a US-based pharma company, as reflected in the registration filings. The deal was arranged by Volney, a real estate advisory and investor network firm.

The transaction was officially registered on November 18, 2025, with a stamp duty of Rs. 1.84 crore and a registration fee of Rs. 60,000. Industry experts note that Andheri East has rapidly emerged as one of Mumbai’s busiest commercial corridors, attracting corporates, global enterprises, and creative firms due to its improved connectivity and infrastructure. Volney’s founder, Rohan Sheth, described the area as a market that combines accessibility with strong rental prospects, adding that it continues to draw long-term investors.

Saif’s new commercial investment also places him among several high-profile names who have recently secured space in the vicinity. Elon Musk’s satellite internet company, Starlink Satellite Communications Private Limited, recently leased a 1,294 sq. ft. office in the nearby Chandivali area for a five-year period, with total rent valued at Rs. 2.33 crore. Additionally, the same building previously housed leased offices where Hrithik Roshan and Rakesh Roshan acquired three commercial units earlier this year for about Rs. 31 crores through HRX Digitech LLP.

Beyond his latest acquisition, Saif Ali Khan is already known for his premium residential and commercial holdings across Mumbai. He currently resides in a high-end apartment in Bandra West, a property he purchased nearly a decade ago for Rs. 24 crores. Records also show that he bought a sprawling 6,500 sq. ft. apartment in April 2012 for Rs. 23.50 crore from Satguru Builders, further cementing his presence in the city’s luxury real estate landscape.

With his latest investment, the actor continues to strengthen his position not just in cinema but also in Mumbai’s top-tier property market.

Actor Tiger Shroff attended the event to show his support for the programme, which focuses on strengthening grassroots football across the state.

SCOOP: SS Rajamouli pushes limits again; Mahesh Babu's Varanasi gets Rs. 1300 cr. budget

SS Rajamouli took the global audience by storm with the launch of his next directorial, Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj in lead roles. The first teaser has become the talk of the town, and there is a demand to know more about the film from cine-goers all across the board. And now, we have an exclusive scoop on the budget of the film.

Very reliable sources close to the project have confirmed that Varanasi will be made on a historic budget of Rs. 1300 crores, excluding the amount kept aside for print and publicity. "Rs. 1300 crore is a rather small amount to bring the mammoth vision of SS Rajamouli to the spectacle. While films like A6 and Ramayana are being made on a budget of Rs. 1500 crores to 2000 crores, SS Rajamouli is set to make a bigger looking film than the two on a much lower budget," a trade source shared with Bollywood Hungama.

We hear that SS Rajamouli has craftily designed some of the most epic sequences and is shooting for them in a planned manner. "Rajamouli is one of the most well-organised directors of Indian Cinema. He has designed all the moments on paper and is now merely executing them. He isn't someone who wastes time and money by deciding things on the set. He has done the pre-viz, and then shooting, leading to the saving of money for the producers. However, the film will look bigger than any other film made in India."

The source also confirms that the Globetrotter event was one of the biggest events ever conducted in India, as SS Rajamouli and team spent Rs. 20 crores on the same. "Everything around the film will be the biggest ever. This is just the beginning."

Varanasi is set for a 2027 release.

Sholay’s original ending finally set for release; restored version to hit theatres on December 12, 2025

The makers of Sholay have officially announced the release date of the newly restored 4K version of the 1975 classic. The film, featuring director Ramesh Sippy’s originally intended ending, will arrive in theatres on December 12, 2025, marking the first time Indian audiences will see the climax exactly as it was envisioned five decades ago.

This announcement comes shortly after veteran actor Dharmendra, who headlined the iconic film alongside Amitabh Bachchan, was discharged from the hospital following a recent health scare. The actor is currently recovering at home.

The restored version of Sholay has been created by the Film Heritage Foundation in collaboration with Sippy Films. The team sourced a rare colour reversal print from London, located the original camera negatives, and even recovered long-lost deleted scenes from a warehouse in Mumbai. The result is a 4K restoration that returns the film to its original 70mm format.

The film made its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) earlier this year and is set for its Australian debut at the Indian Film Festival of Sydney (IFFS) in October. With the newly announced India release, the restoration is now headed for a wide audience. The Original Ending, Five Decades Later One of the biggest draws of this version is the reinstatement of the original climax, where Thakur kills Gabbar Singh—an ending that had been altered due to censorship restrictions during the Emergency.

Speaking to Bollywood Hungama last month, Ramesh Sippy explained the circumstances that led to the change. “In 1975, it was the time of the Emergency. So, we couldn’t argue too much. But the end that I put in had to be shot at the last minute,” he said. “This changed climax was the same ending that took place in every film at that time. The police comes and says, ‘Ruk jaao’! It was a typical ending. That’s what I didn’t like; there was no other reason.”

He added with humour, “The Censor officials stressed that ‘He’s an officer. He should not be taking the law into his own hands'. Actually, I can’t say hands as he didn’t have any.”

With the restored version now set for a December 12 release, audiences will have the chance to revisit Sholay in a form that honours its scale, craft, and original creative vision.

Punjab and Haryana HC declines PIL seeking name change for 120 Bahadur

The upcoming war epic 120 Bahadur, starring Farhan Akhtar as Param Vir Chakra awardee Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, has landed in a legal debate just days before its scheduled release. The Punjab and Haryana High Court recently heard a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking the film’s name be changed to ‘120 Vir Ahir’ to better honor the Ahir soldiers who fought in the historic Battle of Rezang La.

Court Questions Sensitivity Over Movie Title

During the hearing, Chief Justice Sheel Nagu addressed petitioners from Sanyukt Ahir Regiment Morcha and families of those who died in action, expressing surprise at the insistence on a name change. “Why are you so sensitive about what name should carry, whether a film should be named so and so? Bravery of soldiers will be seen in that 3 hour or 2-and-a-half hour movie,” the Chief Justice remarked, emphasizing that cinematic portrayal honors all 120 men.

Petitioners Argue for Collective Recognition

Petitioners alleged the film singularly glorifies Major Singh, eclipsing the regimental identity and collective sacrifice of 117 Ahir soldiers who fought alongside him, citing constitutional concerns over equality and accurate remembrance. The plea argued, “No single name or face may justly monopolize the laurels that rightfully belong to the entire brotherhood of the fallen.”

Producers and Defence Argue Film's Integrity

Advocate Abhinav Sood, representing producers Excel Entertainment, countered that both the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) and the Defence Ministry cleared the film. Sood stressed the PIL was premature, based solely on a three-minute trailer, and assured the court of comprehensive acknowledgment within the movie’s credits and narrative.

The Union government assured the court that representations against the release are under consideration and will be decided within two days. In response, the High Court disposed of the petition, granting liberty to revisit the matter if further grievances arise after the release.

120 Bahadur dramatizes the infamous 1962 Indo-China battle at Rezang La, fought by Charlie Company—a unit comprised predominantly of Ahir soldiers under Major Singh’s command. The film’s release is set for November 21 and promises to showcase acts of heroism, endurance, and camaraderie at altitudes of 18,000 feet and subzero temperatures.

Farhan Akhtar starrer 120 Bahadur creates history; becomes first film ever to release in Defence theatres across India

India’s exhibition landscape is witnessing a groundbreaking moment as Excel Entertainment and Trigger Happy Studios’ upcoming war epic 120 Bahadur becomes the first film in the country to release across defence theatres nationwide. This landmark initiative, enabled through PictureTime’s mobile cinema network, ensures that a film honouring unparalleled courage will directly reach the brave hearts it pays tribute to.

The Farhan Akhtar-starrer is set to screen exclusively for the defence community in more than 800 cinema halls across India when it opens globally on November 21. The rollout, executed by PictureTime in collaboration with GenSync Brat Media, marks a major leap in accessibility, bringing high-quality cinematic experiences to soldiers and their families posted in remote and previously underserved regions.

Explaining the scale and impact of the initiative, Sushil Chaudhary, Founder-CEO of PictureTime, highlighted the long-standing gap in entertainment access for armed forces personnel. “There are 1.5 million active soldiers and over six million viewers. But only 30 percent of India’s 20-million strong veteran and family audience has access to defense cinemas. We aim to expand the ecosystem to additionally reach the underserved 70% and we begin with a bang with 120 Bahadur, a film we know will deeply resonate with the forces,” Chaudhary said.

Excel Entertainment CEO Vishal Ramchandani echoed this sentiment, emphasising the emotional significance of the film’s defence-first release. “120 Bahadur honours the courage and sacrifice of our armed forces. We feel truly privileged that the soldiers whose spirit the film celebrates will be watching it with their families. Our sincere thanks to PictureTime for facilitating this screening for those who serve the nation.”

Based on the heroic Battle of Rezang La, 120 Bahadur features a strong ensemble cast including Raashii Khanna, Sparsh Walia, Vivan Bhatena, Dhanveer Singh, Digvijay Pratap, Sahib Verma, Ankit Siwach, Devendra Ahirwar, Ashutosh Shukla, Brijesh Karanwal, Atul Singh, along with senior officers Ajinkya Deo and Eijaz Khan.

Directed by Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, and Amit Chandrra, 120 Bahadur releases in cinemas on November 21, 2025.

Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla win big at Colors’ Dhamaal With Pati Patni Aur Panga; say, “It was a superb way for us to spend time together without life rushing by us”

Colors’ Dhamaal With Pati Patni Aur Panga signed off its debut season with Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla emerging as the Sarvagun Sampann Jodi. The reality series, positioned as a light-hearted look into the dynamics of marriage, quickly became one of the channel’s standout non-fiction successes of the year, offering a mix of humour, emotional moments, and candid exchanges between celebrity couples.

Hosted by Sonali Bendre and Munawar Faruqui, the show brought together seven celebrity jodis who participated in challenges designed to reflect the everyday quirks, conflicts, and warmth that shape married life. After three months of competition, eliminations, and unexpected turns, the couple secured the winning title. Sharing their gratitude, Rubina and Abhinav said, “Dhamaal with Pati Patni Aur Panga was a superb way for us to spend time together without life rushing by us. As a couple, we’re far from perfect, and we, along with other couples, were very candid about our blind spots, and that was super liberating. Our deepest gratitude to Sonali ma’am and Munawar for their love, gentleness, humour, and guidance. And to the audience, thank you for pampering us like we’re your own family. If there’s one thing we hope our journey reminds people of, it’s this: Love is not about being flawless. It is about choosing each other over everything else, even on the days it feels hardest”, the winning couple added.

With the show now concluded, Colors will release its next non-fiction offering, Laughter Chefs, premiering on November 22 at 9 PM.

BREAKING: S S Rajamouli’s Mahesh Babu-Priyanka Chopra starrer Varanasi the first Indian film which is 'filmed for IMAX'

S S Rajamouli, M M Keeravani, Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, Prithviraj Sukumaran and others attended the grand Globetrotter event in Hyderabad. At this event, Rajamouli announced that his film Varanasi will be the first film of Indian cinema to be filmed in IMAX.

S S Rajamouli came on stage and explained that certain films, which are released in IMAX screens, are “blown up”. He said, “That is not true IMAX.” He also said that his films like Baahubali and RRR (2022) were in the 1:1.9 format. The 100 feet x 130 feet screen, the biggest ever, behind the blockbuster filmmaker, explained the difference between the aforementioned two formats. Then he showed a visual that covered the whole screen. Rajamouli said, “Our film (Varanasi) will be screened full screen. It is filmed for IMAX!”

He explained, “I'm so proud to say that we are introducing new technology to Telugu Cinema - Premium large-scale format. It is filmed for IMAX.” As expected, the crowd went into a frenzy. S S Rajamouli then asked his team, “Can I have the trailer in full-screen format?”

Sadly, there was a glitch. Rajamouli regretted the error and informed the crowd that 45 generators had been used to power up the screen. After some time, the announcement video was finally played in all its glory and got a roaring response.

Earlier in the day, Prithviraj Sukumaran said how he bagged the film, “The famous S S Rajamouli narration that my friend Prabhas told me so much about, started. 5 minutes into the narration, I was blown away. For the rest of the 3 hours, I heard it not as an actor listening to a narration pitch but more like a little boy who has laid his hands on the next edition of his favourite comic book! The scale, the vision, the ambition – everything was India’s greatest contemporary filmmaking, pushing his own limits to never-before-seen territory.”
