The controversy began when Abhinav Singh, known for his work in short films and advertisements, took to Instagram to detail experiences involving a "predator" within the industry. Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3 set to release on October 2, 2026; deeds inside

Ajay Devgn’s much-anticipated family thriller, Drishyam 3, is officially slated for release on October 2, 2026 — a date that’s not just iconic but deeply symbolic for the franchise’s devoted fanbase.

Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film will be jointly produced by Panorama Studios and Viacom18, signalling a powerful collaboration for what is expected to be one of the biggest releases of the year. This formal announcement reinforces the fact that Drishyam 3 is a top priority for director Abhishek Pathak, his producer-father Kumar Mangat Pathak, and lead actor-producer Ajay Devgn.

Given the track record of the previous films, industry insiders and audiences alike have high expectations. The first Drishyam (2015) narrated the gripping story of Vijay Salgaonkar, a common man who cleverly protects his family after a shocking incident involving the son of a top cop. The film became a cult hit, especially post its OTT release, with the “pav bhaji on October 2” scene becoming an iconic pop culture reference.

Drishyam 2 (2022) carried the story forward with added layers of suspense and a stellar addition in Akshaye Khanna. It opened to strong box office numbers, further cementing the franchise’s legacy.

Releasing the third instalment on October 2 — the very date etched in the memory of fans — is a masterstroke. With the original cast expected to return and suspense at an all-time high, Drishyam 3 is shaping up to be one of the most-awaited thrillers of 2026.

Sonakshi Sinha starrer Nikita Roy gets new release date, now set to hit theatres on June 27

Sonakshi Sinha is back on the big screen with a vengeance. On May 29, the actress took to social media to unveil the official poster of her upcoming psychological thriller, Nikita Roy. The film, which marks her return to theatres after 2024's Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, is set to hit cinemas worldwide on June 27, 2025.

The poster features Sonakshi in an intense close-up, exuding a serious, almost ominous presence. Alongside her, the ensemble cast includes Arjun Rampal, Paresh Rawal, and Suhail Nayyar. The film is directed by Kussh S Sinha and produced under the banners of Nicky Vicky Bhagnani Films, Kratos Entertainment, and Nikita Pai Films Ltd. A New Chapter in Sonakshi Sinha’s Career While Nikita Roy will mark Sonakshi’s first theatrical lead since Double XL in 2022 and the ensemble action film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan in 2024, the actress hasn’t been away from screens. In recent years, she expanded her repertoire with digital ventures, including the horror-comedy Kakuda (ZEE5) and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar on Netflix.

The official synopsis of Nikita Roy is still under wraps, but the poster hints at a dark, possibly psychological narrative with mystery elements.

Earlier, the producers, in a joint statement, said, “This film is very close to our hearts. It dares to tread where most mainstream films don't and explores a genre we truly believe audiences are ready for. With a powerful cast, a gripping narrative, and Kussh S Sinha's unique vision, we can't wait for the world to experience Nikita Roy on the big screen.”

Ranveer Singh NOT producing Shaktimaan project, confirms actor’s team in official statement

Amid growing speculation about Ranveer Singh stepping into the shoes of India’s beloved superhero Shaktimaan as both actor and producer, the actor’s team has issued a firm denial, setting the record straight. For the unversed, on May 29, a report by Filmfare suggested that Singh had acquired the rights to the classic character. It claimed that Ranveer was planning to produce a web series based on Shaktimaan, which originally starred Mukesh Khanna.

“No Truth to These Reports,” Says Official Statement Responding to the speculation, a statement issued by Ranveer Singh's team categorically denied any involvement in a Shaktimaan project. The note read, “The news about Ranveer Singh acquiring rights to develop a new superhero (Shaktimaan) project as the producer holds no truth. He is currently busy shooting for Aditya Dhar’s next, and then Don 3 is also on the cards for him.”

The clarification puts to rest months of rumours linking Singh to a potential Shaktimaan revival. It also indicates that Mukesh Khanna, the original creator and face of the series, is not collaborating with the actor on any such project.

Ranveer Singh is currently filming Aditya Dhar’s upcoming action thriller, and preparations for Don 3 are already underway. Directed by Farhan Akhtar, the third installment of the Don franchise is expected to go on floors later this year. Kiara Advani, who was initially announced as the female lead, has reportedly stepped away from the film following her pregnancy announcement. The new female lead has yet to be confirmed.

Most recently, Singh was seen in Singham Again, alongside Ajay Devgn, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Tiger Shroff. The film marked his return to Rohit Shetty’s cop universe.

Guru Dutt biopic in early talks; Vicky Kaushal considered to play the icon

As Indian cinema approaches the 100th birth anniversary of Guru Dutt, plans are underway to commemorate his life and legacy on a grand scale. Ultra Media & Entertainment Group, which owns the rights to his filmography, has revealed a multi-layered tribute. It will also include the possibility of a biopic and web series adaptations of his most celebrated works.

Biopic in the Pipeline; Vicky Kaushal a Potential Lead Rajat Agrawal, COO and Director at Ultra Media, confirmed that early discussions have begun for a full-length biopic on the legendary filmmaker. A report by Mid-Day quoted Rajat saying, "Biopics are always challenging because they need to emulate an individual’s greatness and achievements. We would be happy to collaborate with producers and a modern-day director who is a fanatic of Guru Dutt," while noting that the company is in talks with two prominent directors.

When asked about who could portray the complexity and sensitivity of Guru Dutt on screen, Agrawal pointed to Vicky Kaushal as a possible candidate. “Naming one actor would be difficult as there is a plethora of talent, but I feel Vicky Kaushal can bring Guru Duttji’s emotional depth,” he added.

In addition to the biopic, Ultra is exploring the idea of adapting some of Dutt’s acclaimed films into web series. While no formal announcements have been made, Agrawal revealed that two well-known directors have shown interest in reimagining the filmmaker’s stories for the digital space. Restored Versions Unveiled at Cannes 2025 Earlier this month, Ultra Media presented restored versions of Guru Dutt's cinematic landmarks — Pyaasa (1957), Kaagaz Ke Phool (1959), Chaudhvin Ka Chand (1960), and Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam (1962) — at the Cannes Film Festival 2025, receiving warm response from global audiences. The move is part of a larger initiative to reintroduce Dutt’s works to contemporary viewers while preserving their original charm.

Agrawal emphasized that the restorations stay true to the original black-and-white aesthetic, though a few songs might be colourised as an experiment. “All his movies have been restored in the original black-and-white version to give the same nostalgic feel. However, we are looking at colourising a few songs to see the audience’s reaction.” Nationwide Tribute Ahead of Birth Anniversary In the run-up to Guru Dutt’s birth centenary on July 9, a week-long celebration is being planned across India. The initiative will include theatrical re-releases of the restored classics, curated exhibitions, and panel discussions featuring leading voices from the Indian film industry. The aim is to revisit the genius of a filmmaker who captured human emotion with rare sensitivity and cinematic innovation.

It was set only in one city while the video of ‘Zamaana Lage’ makes it clear that that’s not the case with the sequel.

Anurag Basu was asked about it and he listed the cities shown in Metro…In Dino, Kolkata, Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and a little bit of Pune”. He added, “The story travels in all these cities. We are all connected today. There’s not much of a distance as such in today’s times. Also, our city also plays an important role in our lives, be it Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata etc. That’s how we have tried to show it in this film.”

Konkona Sen Sharma is the only actor to be a part of Metro…In Dino as well as Life In A Metro. In the earlier part, she was paired opposite the late Irrfan Khan. Konkona was asked if she and Anurag missed the legendary actor. Konkona said, “We were just discussing that zamaane toh lagega unko bhoolne ke liye na! It happened many times. I don’t want to get into what and when. When you’ll watch the film, you’ll know when!”

Anurag Basu, however, opened up, “There were many moments in the film when we missed him. We were shooting a scene and its tone was similar to the scene we had shot before. In the middle of the shoot, there was a silent moment. Me and Koko (Konkona) looked at each other and she started crying. I guess we should not go there now.”

He continued, “We miss him. We also miss K K, cinematographer Bobby Singh and art director Rajat Poddar; all of them were integral part of my team and are not there now. They would have been sitting here today.”

Akshay Kumar's cheeky prank turns Nargis Fakhri into 'Sajid Nadiadwala' at Housefull 5 trailer launch - quite literally!

In true Housefull spirit, Akshay Kumar brought the chaos — and the laughs — to the trailer launch of Housefull 5, and this time, the punchline wasn’t in the script. It was on Nargis Fakhri’s back. Just as the cameras started flashing and the cast settled into their seats, sharp-eyed attendees noticed a suspiciously familiar name tag stuck on Nargis Fakhri’s back. It read: ‘Sajid Nadiadwala’. And no, the producer hadn’t taken up acting in secret.

The real Sajid, seated just a few rows away, couldn’t help but chuckle — or was that a double take? Turns out, it was all part of Akshay Kumar’s impromptu prank. The superstar, known for his on-set mischief and unparalleled comic timing, decided to blur the lines between reality and resemblance. With Nargis sporting a sleek, slicked-back hairstyle and power blazer, some attendees whispered — perhaps not inaccurately — that she did look like a younger, more glam version of Sajid Nadiadwala’s latest ‘boardroom avatar’.

Prankster Mode On????#AkshayKumar #Housefull5 #NargisFakhri pic.twitter.com/uMvQMxIWkE — BollyHungama (@Bollyhungama) May 27, 2025

“It's all love,” Akshay quipped when asked about the prank. “Sajid is like family, and Nargis… well, now she literally is him — at least for a few selfies.”

While Nargis took it in stride, laughing off her unexpected producer debut, insiders say she’s already plotting her revenge. “Akshay better watch his back — and his placards,” she said, grinning. “Let’s just say, if Housefull 6 ever happens, I’m writing his name as 'Nargis Kumar’ on every script.” As for Sajid, the real one, he gave his seal of approval: “With that level of style and confidence? I’ll take it as a compliment.”

Trust Housefull to bring the madness — on and off-screen.

Shraddha Kapoor in creative talks with Dinesh Vijan and Laxman Uttekar for upcoming film: Report

Shraddha Kapoor’s recent visit to Maddock Films’ office in Mumbai on May 26, 2025, sparked a lot of excitement and rumours about a potential new project. According to a report by Pinkvilla, the actress was there for a creative meeting with producer Dinesh Vijan, hinting at an exciting collaboration ahead.

An industry source revealed, “Shraddha Kapoor met with Dinesh Vijan, and they were later joined by Laxman Uttekar, the director of Chhaava.”

According to the insider, the meeting was more than just informal—it included a story narration that impressed Shraddha. “Laxman and Shraddha talked over a script, which she really liked and has given her initial approval to. If all goes smoothly, Shraddha Kapoor is set to lead Laxman Uttekar’s next film following Chhaava.”

The new project is said to be adapted from a well-known Marathi novel and will feature Shraddha in a role deeply connected to cultural roots. The source added, “All other details are kept under wraps for now. There is a possibility of an A-List male lead also to come onboard the film.”

Although discussions are still in the initial phase, the likelihood of this collaboration moving forward is high. Shraddha has maintained a strong professional relationship with Maddock Films, making a reunion quite probable. The source further stated, “Dinesh Vijan is presently on a dream run, and is looking to create content that breaks away from the trends. Dinoo, along with Laxman Uttekar have pitched a subject to Shraddha, that they truly believe in and is deep rooted in the Maharashtrian culture.”

Meanwhile, Maddock Films is preparing several other big projects. Besides this untitled film, Laxman Uttekar and Dinesh Vijan are working on a multi-starrer movie featuring three prominent male leads, with production expected to start between 2026 and 2027.

Producer Dinesh Vijan is currently enjoying tremendous success, having produced two blockbuster films that each grossed over Rs 500 crores. He also plans to expand his horror-comedy franchise, with Thama—featuring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles—scheduled to hit theatres during Diwali 2025.

Shraddha Kapoor was last seen in Stree 2, a horror-comedy released in 2024. She starred alongside Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, and Pankaj Tripathi. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the movie became a massive hit at the box office and went on to become the highest-grossing Hindi film of the year.

Pankaj Tripathi on whether he would accept the role of Baburao Apte in Hera Pheri 3 if offered, "Don’t think I would want to step into the iconic part"

There is a widespread campaign on the internet to cast the talented Pankaj Tripathi as Baburao Ganpatrao Apte in Priyadarshan’s Hera Pheri 3 after Paresh Rawal’s exit from the project.

“Logon ne toh posters aur meme bhi banana shuru kar diya hai,” laughed Pankaj as I catch him amidst his jampacked schedule (for the record, he forsook his lunch to chat with me). So is there any truth to this rumour? “That I am playing Baburao? None at all! No truth. I have not even been approached to play the part. This is more wishful thinking of fans than fact.”

By fans of Pankaj or the Baburao character in Hera Pheri? “Both! Somehow they feel I am the best man to play the character after the original (Paresh Rawal). But I haven’t been offered the role. And even if I did get the offer, I don’t think I would want to step into the iconic part. Log compare karenge kha-ma-kha. It would not be something I want.”

About the fan-love that impels this phantom casting, Pankaj said, “I am flattered that fans feel I can fill those shoes. That character from Hera Pheri is iconic.”

Dhadak 2 gets release date after CBFC hurdles: Siddhant Chaturvedi, Triptii Dimri starrer to arrive in theaters on August 1, 2025; intense posters out!

A day after celebrating his 53rd birthday, Karan Johar unveiled the release date of his next production, Dhadak 2. Starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Tripti Dimri in lead roles, the film is slated to hit cinemas on August 1, 2025. The announcement came alongside two emotionally charged posters, offering a glimpse into the film’s intense narrative.

In both posters, Siddhant and Tripti are seen in a tearful embrace, set against a moody blue backdrop. The rawness of the visuals suggests that Dhadak 2 will diverge significantly from the tone of its predecessor.

CBFC Roadblock Cleared With Cuts Earlier this year, Bollywood Hungama was the first to report that Dhadak 2 had run into trouble at the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film, based on caste oppression, was initially stuck due to its sensitive content. It has now been cleared with a U/A 16+ rating, though not without significant alterations.

According to The Hindu, several dialogues were revised, especially those referencing caste history and discrimination. Phrases like “3,000 years of backlog” and caste-specific slurs were replaced or muted. A scene involving public urination was removed entirely, while another sequence showing the humiliation of a character’s father was trimmed. The CBFC also modified a poem recital and requested a revised disclaimer, now extended to 1 minute and 51 seconds and to be read aloud during the film. Run Time and Background Dhadak 2 is a Hindi adaptation of the 2018 Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal, directed by Mari Selvaraj. The remake is helmed by Shazia Iqbal, who makes her directorial debut with the project. With a runtime of 2 hours and 26 minutes, the film aims to bring caste-based social injustice to the forefront, a thematic pivot from the romanticism of the original Dhadak (2018).

It is produced by Dharma Productions in association with Zee Studios and Cloud 9 Pictures.

Hera Pheri 3 Row: “Paresh Rawal was never given script”, reveals his legal team

The ongoing controversy surrounding Hera Pheri 3 has taken a fresh turn with veteran actor Paresh Rawal's legal team addressing claims against him. In a conversation with Times of India, Rawal’s lawyer clarified that the actor was never presented with a script or any substantial content from the team working under Akshay Kumar’s production banner.

Rawal’s legal team has also questioned the grounds on which the production house is claiming losses when, according to them, no material—script or agreement—was in place in the first place. According to recent reports, a legal notice has been sent to Akshay Kumar, Priyadarshan, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal by none other than the original producer – Firoz Nadiadwala. The notice reportedly prohibits all four from participating in any promos, endorsements, or activities related to the Hera Pheri franchise. It further claimed that proceeding with such activities will be considered a wilful breach, asserting that the intellectual property (IP) rights to all characters, including Babu Bhaiya, lie with Nadiadwala.

Sources close to the actor also revealed that Akshay Kumar had assured Rawal, saying, “Don’t worry, trust me. You’ll see it later in the longform agreement.” Based on this assurance and his longstanding rapport with Kumar, Paresh Rawal is expected to have signed the term sheet in good faith. The promo for Hera Pheri 3 was eventually shot on a modified version of the Bhooth Bangla set. However, it was initially intended for a 2026 start, and Rawal had suggested postponing the promo shoot to the following year. As of now, the actor has not received any long-term agreement, script, or formal production information, sources added.

Reports also suggested that the actor has a deep-rooted connection with the beloved character of Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, popularly known as Babu Bhaiya, and hence, sought clarity before proceeding further with the project.

The actor’s legal team told Times of India, “Admittedly, they did not deliver the story, screenplay and also a draft of a long form agreement which was fundamental to the engagement of our client. In the absence of these and also since Mr. Nadiadwala, the producer of the original films, issued notice to our client and raised issues on the making of the film, our client chose to exit and returned the money with interest by terminating the Term sheet.”

With mounting legal tensions and blame games, the fate of Hera Pheri 3 remains uncertain.

Sharing her emotional experience on Instagram, she wrote, “As I drove towards the auditorium in the South Western Command of the Indian Army, I saw posters of army officers and jawans at regular intervals, that won various bravery awards. They are part of our armed forces and they gave up their today for our tomorrow!”

Zinta went on to describe her experience meeting the families of martyrs and shared, “At the event I met the women that would miss these men everyday & every moment of their lives. Paresh Rawal reacts to legal row over Hera Pheri 3 exit: “My lawyer has sent an appropriate response”

Veteran actor Paresh Rawal has opened up about the ongoing legal tussle with Cape of Good Films following his sudden exit from Hera Pheri 3 on social media. The response comes in the wake of escalating legal tensions between Rawal and the production team, which includes actor-producer Akshay Kumar. The fallout has caused significant buzz, especially considering Rawal's iconic role as Babu Bhaiya in the much-loved Hera Pheri franchise.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, the actor wrote, “My lawyer, Ameet Naik, has sent an appropriate response regarding my rightful termination and exit. Once they read my response all issues will be laid to rest.”

My lawyer, Ameet Naik, has sent an appropriate response regarding my rightful termination and exit. Once they read my response all issues will be laid to rest. — Paresh Rawal (@SirPareshRawal) May 25, 2025

Earlier, addressing the ongoing controversy, a source informed Bollywood Hungama that Rawal has not only exited the project but also returned the signing amount with additional interest. “Paresh Rawal has returned the signing amount of Rs 11 lakhs with 15% p.a. interest and also a little more money for stepping away from the series,” the source revealed. “Paresh Rawal was paid Rs. 11 lakhs as a signing amount as per the term sheet. His total fees were locked at Rs. 15 crores. The term sheet mentioned that Paresh Rawal would receive the balance amount – Rs. 14.89 crores – only one month after the release of the film."

The source further added that the senior actor had concerns about this clause. “The film’s principal shoot was to commence sometime next year. This means that Hera Pheri 3 was unlikely to be released before late 2026 or in the year 2027. In short, Paresh would have had to wait for nearly two years to get the rest of his acting fees.”

The controversy erupted after the initial process for the film were reportedly completed with Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar, and Suniel Shetty. Rawal’s abrupt departure shocked fans and left the production in limbo. Filmmaker Priyadarshan and co-star Suniel Shetty publicly expressed their disappointment over the exit.

As legal documents are exchanged and public statements continue to emerge, Paresh Rawal’s recent tweet suggests that he is standing firm on his decision and believes the matter will soon be resolved with clarity. While reports suggest that the team behind Hera Pheri 3 has been deciding to recast Pankaj Tripathi, some fans are hoping that they would find a resolution with Rawal and retain him.

BREAKING: Dharmendra, Agastya Nanda starrer Ikkis to release on Gandhi Jayanti 2025; to clash with Kantara: Chapter 1

Bollywood’s much-awaited war-drama Ikkis now has a release date! Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films has officially announced that the film will hit cinemas on Thursday, October 2, 2025, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti, a national holiday known for strong box office openings.

Helmed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sriram Raghavan, Ikkis marks the acclaimed director’s return after the success of Badlapur under the Maddock banner. The film brings together a powerhouse ensemble — veteran legend Dharmendra, rising star Agastya Nanda (grandson of megastar Amitabh Bachchan), and the critically acclaimed actor Jaideep Ahlawat.

Ikkis is based on the extraordinary real-life story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, a Param Vir Chakra (PVC) awardee who displayed unmatched courage and made the ultimate sacrifice during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The film promises to blend emotional depth, patriotic fervor, and gripping storytelling — hallmarks of Raghavan’s unique narrative style.

This is Agastya Nanda’s second major film after his debut, and Ikkis positions him in a challenging, emotionally rich role that could cement his place in Bollywood’s next-gen talent. For Dharmendra, the film marks a return to intense drama, while Jaideep Ahlawat’s inclusion hints at a layered, possibly commanding performance.

Backed by Maddock Films, Ikkis is already being touted as one of 2025’s most awaited films, both for its subject and for the collaboration of some of the industry’s finest talents.

Interestingly, by choosing this release date, Ikkis will be clashing at the box office with Rishab Shetty’s Pan-India film Kantara: Chapter 1, which is a prequel to his 2022 surprise hit Kantara.

Shalini Pandey joins Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma for Manali schedule of Rahu Ketu

Actress Shalini Pandey has joined co-stars Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma in Manali as the second schedule of their upcoming film Rahu Ketu kicks off. Directed by Vipul Vig and backed by Zee Studios, the fantasy comedy has already generated curiosity with its quirky title and unique cast combination. Now, with the shoot moving to the scenic hill town of Manali, the film is set to add a fresh visual element to its narrative.

Shalini Pandey, who made her mark with her Telugu debut Arjun Reddy and stepped into Bollywood with Jayeshbhai Jordaar, has recently been seen in projects like Maharaj and the web series Dabba Cartel. Her participation in Rahu Ketu is expected to add a grounded presence to the otherwise chaotic and fantasy-driven world of the film.

As for the plot details of Rahu Ketu, it remains tightly under wraps, but the film is being described as a dark-comedy with fantasy elements, indicating a genre-bending narrative. With Manali’s dramatic natural backdrops now being used in the shoot, audiences can expect some visually rich storytelling alongside the comedic beats.

The film was announced by Pulkit Samrat who shared an update from the shoot on Instagram last month, with the caption, “Taare bhi line pe lag gaye… kyunki hamare Rahu-Ketu bilkul sahi jagah hain! Tayyar ho jao, hum tumhari orbit mein entry maarne wale hain! #RahuKetu Filming begins… see you at the movies!” The post featured him with Shalini Pandey and Varun Sharma, offering a glimpse into the camaraderie on set.

Director Vipul Vig, known for his writing contributions to films like Fukrey, is expected to bring his signature flavour of quirky humour to the director’s chair. With Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma — a duo familiar with comic timing — and the introduction of Shalini Pandey into this dynamic, the film seems to be shaping up as a light-hearted entertainer with unexpected twists.

Rahu Ketu is scheduled to release in 2025. With filming currently underway in Manali, more updates and glimpses from the set are expected soon.

Sikandar to premiere on OTT on May 25; Netflix drops major UPDATE on Salman Khan starrer

Salman Khan’s latest action drama Sikandar is set to make its digital debut on Netflix on May 25. The film, directed by A. R. Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, will now be accessible to a wider audience as it premieres on the streaming platform after its theatrical release earlier this year.

Netflix India announced the premiere through a social media post that read, “Suna hai bohot log Sikandar ka intezaar kar rahe the? Sikandar aa gaya hai Netflix par raj karne. (Heard many were waiting for Sikandar? Sikandar is here to rule on Netflix).” The film’s arrival on OTT is expected to reignite interest among Salman Khan’s fanbase and action movie lovers who may have missed catching it in cinemas.

Sikandar was one of the most anticipated Bollywood releases of 2025, thanks to its high-octane action, star-studded cast, and the collaboration between two major names in Indian cinema—Salman Khan and A. R. Murugadoss. However, while the film saw a decent opening at the box office, it fell short of the massive numbers typically associated with Khan’s Eid releases. Despite its ensemble cast, high-octane action and Khan elements, the film received a somewhat lukewarm response from critics and audiences alike, with many feeling it didn’t fully live up to the expectations attached to a Salman Khan spectacle.

In Sikandar, Salman Khan plays Sanjay “Sikandar” Rajkot, a man with a mysterious past who finds himself hunted by a powerful politician seeking revenge for a family tragedy. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Prateik Smita Patil, Kishore, Jatin Sarna, and Sanjay Kapoor in pivotal roles.

As the film heads to Netflix, it gives viewers a second chance to experience its dramatic storyline and high-energy action set pieces from the comfort of their homes. With Salman Khan’s dedicated fan following and the accessibility of OTT, Sikandar may yet find a new lease on life in the digital space. The digital release on May 25 is expected to attract significant attention, especially among subscribers eager for a fresh dose of big-banner Bollywood action.

Aamir Khan to drop a full 3-hour documentary on special needs artists of Sitaare Zameen Par

Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan, has once again chosen substance over spectacle. In a heartfelt move that reflects his deep-rooted commitment to meaningful cinema, Aamir has developed and shot a three-hour documentary focusing on the special needs artists featured in his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par.

This documentary is far more than just a behind-the-scenes look. It is a standalone narrative, spotlighting the personal journeys, daily struggles, and extraordinary resilience of the specially abled cast members who play integral roles in the film. Through intimate interviews, observational footage, and real-life moments, the documentary aims to celebrate their talents while fostering a deeper understanding of their lived experiences.

What makes this documentary even more unique is that it has been directed by multiple young filmmakers, each bringing their own perspective and storytelling style. These individual segments form an anthology of stories, weaving together to create one unified cinematic vision. This collaborative approach not only nurtures fresh talent but also ensures that each artist’s narrative is told with nuance and diversity in voice.

According to a source close to Bollywood Hungama, the documentary is a passion project for Aamir - one he has been closely involved in, right from conceptualization to filming. Known for his meticulous attention to detail, the actor-producer has ensured that each story featured is treated with dignity, authenticity, and heart. “Aamir didn’t want to just cast actors with special needs - he wanted the world to know who they really are, beyond the film,” says an industry source. “This documentary is his way of doing justice to their stories, both on and off-screen.”

While Sitaare Zameen Par is expected to be a theatrical release celebrating inclusivity and imagination, the documentary adds a layer of real-world impact, bridging the gap between art and advocacy. Although Aamir is reportedly keen on releasing the documentary to coincide with the film’s release window, he has yet to finalize a date. Buzz suggests that the documentary might drop 10 to 15 days after the film hits theatres, allowing audiences to first immerse themselves in the cinematic story before meeting the real heroes behind it.

This initiative follows Aamir Khan’s long-standing tradition of socially conscious storytelling, reminiscent of his 2007 film Taare Zameen Par, which dealt with dyslexia and redefined the way Indian cinema portrayed learning disabilities.

With Sitaare Zameen Par and its companion documentary, Aamir Khan seems poised to once again challenge perceptions, stir conversations, and offer a moving tribute to human potential - proving that some of the brightest stars truly shine from within.

BREAKING: Dhadak 2 FINALLY cleared with U/A 16+ certificate after EXTENSIVE cuts; CBFC changes caste slurs to ‘junglee’; replaces a doha by Saint Tulsidas; censors 2 disturbing scenes

In February this year, Bollywood Hungama was the first one to break the news that Dhadak 2 has been stuck at the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). It has now come to light that the CBFC has finally cleared the film, albeit with several changes.

As per The Hindu, Dhadak 2 has been awarded with a U/A 16+ rating and it also lists the cuts given to the social drama. The dialogue “3,000 years of backlog will not be cleared in just 70 years” has been replaced with “The backlog of age-old discrimination will not be cleared in just 70 years”. Incidentally, the recently released flick Phule also had a dialogue ‘3,000 saal puraani gulaami’ and it was changed to ‘kayi saal purani hai’. Both the films are based on caste atrocities.

Then, the dialogue “Nilesh (Siddhant Chaturvedi), yeh kalam dekh rahe ho....Raaj kar rahe hain” was changed to “Yeh chota sa dhakkan puri kalam ka thoda sa hissa hai aur baki ke hai hum; phir bhi hamare sar par baithe hua hai kyon”. The caste slurs ‘chamar’ and ‘bhangi’ have been muted and both terms were replaced with ‘junglee’. “Dharam ka kaam hai” was tweaked to “Punya ka kaam hai”. A long dialogue “Savarnon ke sadak … humein jala dete the” was replaced with “Na sadke hamari thi, na zameen hamari thi, na paani hamara tha; yahaan tak ki zindagi bhi hamari nahi thi; marne ki naubat aayi to shaher aa gaya”.

The CBFC also censored the recitation of the poem ‘Thakur Ka Kuan’. In a song, a doha by Saint Tulsidas was replaced. There were three visual cuts as well. A five second shot of a character urinating on Nilesh was censored. As per the cut list published in The Hindu, ‘Blue colour of the dog was removed’. A scene where Nilesh’s father is humiliated was also reduced.

Finally, a 20-second disclaimer was replaced with a 1-minute 51-second version. The CBFC also asked the makers to make sure the updated disclaimer was read out loud.

As per the reports, Dhadak 2’s run time is around 146 minutes, that is, 2 hours and 26 minutes. It is a remake of the acclaimed Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal (2018). Starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, Dhadak 2 is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Zee Studios and directed by Shazia Iqbal.

EXCLUSIVE: Paresh Rawal returns Rs. 11 lakhs with 15% interest after exiting Hera Pheri 3; was signed for Rs. 15 crores

Last week, Bollywood Hungama was the first to break the BIGGEST news of the year that Paresh Rawal has quit Hera Pheri 3. We also carried a quote from the actor himself, confirming his exit from the franchise. Since then, the controversy has grown bigger, more so after Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films, the producer of Hera Pheri 3, sued Paresh Rawal for Rs. 25 crores. The legal team of Akshay Kumar has given out a statement, explaining their woes. Bollywood Hungama has now learnt that Paresh Rawal has returned the signing amount to the production house.

A source informed Bollywood Hungama, “Paresh Rawal has returned the signing amount of Rs 11 lakhs with 15% p.a. interest and also a little more money for stepping away from the series.”

The source continued, “Paresh Rawal was paid Rs. 11 lakhs as a signing amount as per the term sheet. His total fees were locked at Rs. 15 crores. The term sheet mentioned that Paresh Rawal would receive the balance amount – Rs. 14.89 crores – only one month after the release of the film. The senior actor had reservations about this clause. Also, the film’s principal shoot was to commence sometime next year. This means that Hera Pheri 3 was unlikely to be released before late 2026 or in the year 2027. In short, Paresh would have had to wait for nearly two years to get the rest of his acting fees.”

According to trade sources, only the announcement teaser of the film was shot on the sets of Bhooth Bangla. The crew of that film also worked on the promo shoot. It now remains to see what happens next in this dramatic saga.

Hera Pheri’s first part was released in the year 2000. It starred Akshay Kumar as Raju, Paresh Rawal as Baburao Ganpatrao Apte and Suniel Shetty as Shyam. The sequel, Phir Hera Pheri (2006) marked the return of the trio. Both the films have achieved cult status with Baburao having a separate fan base. As a result, the excitement for Hera Pheri 3 has been sky high.

Hera Pheri 3 Row: Advocate of Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films opens up about the legal notice sent to Paresh Rawal; reveals these are ‘consequences of a unilateral pullback’

We had earlier reported that in a major setback to the much-awaited Hera Pheri 3, Akshay Kumar and his production house Cape of Good Films has reportedly taken legal action against veteran actor Paresh Rawal for abruptly backing out of the project. Advocate Pooja Tidke, representing the production house, confirmed that a legal notice has been issued, citing breach of contract and damages amounting to Rs 25 crores.

According to the legal team, Rawal had officially committed to the film earlier this year and even began shooting. “Stakeholders had met, confirmed the production of the film. In fact, Paresh ji had tweeted about the film sometime in the end of January, indicating very clearly that he would be associated with it. Thereafter, there were contracts entered into, the shooting for the trailer began. In fact, there was some portion about three or three and a half minutes of the film itself that had been shot,” said Tidke in a statement to PTI.

Advocate Pooja Tidke, on behalf of #AkshayKumar 's production house, speaks on #HeraPheri3 #PareshRawal exit casepic.twitter.com/ewEejmZSBC — Akshay Kumar Fans Group (@AKFansGroup) May 22, 2025

However, the situation took a sharp turn in May, when Rawal allegedly revealed to Bollywood Hungama about him no longer being a part of the film. The sudden withdrawal has reportedly shocked the cast and crew. “It’s taken everybody by surprise”. “There have been expenses incurred towards the cast, towards the crew, towards leading senior actors, logistics, equipment, shooting of the trailer,” she shared and continued, “Trailers have been shot and released. So, there's been a substantial amount of money already invested in the film. Shooting had begun. Of course, you know, everyone's synchronized schedules are now disrupted. Professionally, it's affected everyone,”

The advocate further elaborated on the potential fallout, highlighting that the production house had already paid Rs 11 lakhs to Rawal and had begun shooting based on the contractual agreement. “These are damages towards the losses suffered on account of a unilateral pullback from the film after having committed, acted upon the contract that he had already entered into. Of course, the production house paying senior actors, the production house has incurred its own costs”, Tidke noted.

The legal notice served gives Rawal a seven-day window to respond, a period that is set to end in the next couple of days. “So far, there's been no development since then. It is true. We have issued a legal notice”. “While also expressing hope for an amicable resolution, she mentioned, “I'm sure parties are talking to each other and trying to work things out”, and concluded, “Let's hope things work out. It's good for all the stakeholders in the film. It's good for the audience. It's good for the franchise. It's a very beloved franchise. So, let's see what happens”.

As per current reports, no new update has emerged since the notice was sent, but sources suggest that informal conversations may be underway to resolve the issue out of court. The Hera Pheri franchise, known for its cult status and comic timing, continues to face uncertainty as fans eagerly await clarity on the future of its third installment.

Dhanush to portray Dr APJ Abdul Kalam in biopic announced at Cannes Film Festival 2025

A biopic on Bharat Ratna Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, India’s 11th President and renowned aerospace scientist, has been officially announced at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. Titled Wings of Fire, the film will be directed by Om Raut, known for Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, and will feature National Award-winning actor Dhanush in the lead role.

The project brings together major names from the Indian film industry which includes Abhishek Agarwal under Abhishek Agarwal Arts — the banner behind The Kashmir Files — and Bhushan Kumar under the T-Series banner who will be coming together to produce the film. The screenplay is penned by Saiwyn Quadras, whose previous writing credits include Neerja, Maidaan, and Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran.

The film aims to trace Dr. Kalam’s extraordinary journey — from his modest beginnings in Rameswaram to his rise as one of India’s most respected scientific minds and eventually, the President of the country. Often referred to as the ‘Missile Man of India,’ Dr. Kalam’s legacy continues to inspire generations, most notably through his memoir ‘Wings of Fire’.

Casting Dhanush in the titular role is being described as one of the film’s key moments. The actor, who has earned acclaim for his versatility and emotional depth, will portray a figure deeply cherished by the nation. The film is positioned not just as a political biography, but as an exploration of Dr. Kalam’s values — science, spirituality, education, and leadership.

Director Om Raut, in a statement, said, “In an era starved of true statesmen, Kalam stood above politics and pettiness. He was a man known for the power of education, excellence, and indigenous innovation. To bring his story to screen is an artistic challenge and a moral and cultural responsibility. It’s the most important experience of my life.”

Producer Abhishek Agarwal added, “We are excited to bring the epic life of Dr. Kalam to the big screen. Collaborating with Om Raut, Dhanush, and Bhushan Kumar makes this one of Indian cinema’s most prestigious projects. It is a privilege to tell this story.”

Bhushan Kumar of T-Series said, “Dr. Kalam’s journey continues to inspire millions. We feel honored to be part of a film that pays tribute to such an extraordinary individual. This marks our third collaboration with Om Raut, and our first with Dhanush and Abhishek Agarwal on a story of national significance.”

With production underway, further details remain under wraps. However, with Om Raut’s cinematic vision, Dhanush’s performance, and the support of two major production houses, Wings of Fire is being positioned as a biopic with global reach and national relevance.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga vs Deepika Padukone: Spirit deal collapses after EXPLOSIVE fallout over contract; Prabhas film to be recast

After finalising paperwork to be the female lead of Spirit, Deepika Padukone seems to have lost out on the chance to be a part of Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial with Prabhas. According to very reliable sources, Sandeep Reddy Vanga had a massive fallout with Deepika Padukone, and the actress is now out of his ambitious cop thriller led by Prabhas.

A source shared with Bollywood Hungama, "Sandeep Reddy Vanga got the shock of his life when Deepika Padukone refused to shoot for more than 6 hours a day for Spirit. That's not all, the actress, via her agency, also started to demand an amendment to the contract. Their point of contention was simple - if the shoot extends beyond 100 days, Deepika will have to be paid extra for every single day of shoot beyond the commitment on paper."

The source informed that Sandeep Reddy Vanga discussed this with his producer, who tried his best to bring both the talents on the same page. "However, Deepika and her team were not willing to bow. Sandeep Reddy Vanga eventually told Deepika to back out of the film. He is now looking to recast for the part," the source tells us further.

Apparently, Deepika was charging Rs. 40 crores for Spirit, and post the fallout, Sandeep is looking to cast someone with a lesser price. The film is scheduled to go on floors in October 2025, and the new cast will be locked in a month's time, but one can say with confidence that Sandeep is upset with Deepika Padukone's pattern of working at the moment.

EXCLUSIVE: Aamir Khan approached for a hilarious role in Sidharth Malhotra-Mahaveer Jain-Raaj Shaandilyaa’s out-and-out entertainer

In September 2024, Bollywood Hungama was the first one to break the news that Sidharth Malhotra has bagged an out-and-out commercial entertainer. In April, we revealed that Raaj Shaandilyaa of Dream Girl (2019) fame will be directing this flick. And now we have heard that if all goes well, this film might feature none other than superstar Aamir Khan as well.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “There’s a very hilarious character in the film and producer Mahaveer Jain and director Raaj Shaandilyaa feel that Aamir Khan can do complete justice to it. Hence, they approached the superstar. Aamir graciously accepted the offer of narration.”

The source continued, “Aamir Khan just has a small suggestion - he wants to hear the narration after the release of his next, Sitaare Zameen Par. Right now, the actor wants to give his full concentration to his creation. Once the film is out on June 20, he’ll be in a great space to hear the narration and decide whether he wants to be a part of it.”

The source added, “Nevertheless, Raa Shaandilyaa and writer Sanjeev are very excited that they have got the opportunity to narrate their film to one of the biggest stars of Indian cinema.”

The film goes on floors in September 2025. Last year, a source told Bollywood Hungama, “The film has loads of comedy and also has a thrill element. Sidharth Malhotra excitedly came on board as he knows that it’s a film that’ll present him in a never-before-seen avatar and also expand his fan base. As a result, he’s giving his hundred per cent towards prepping for the role.”

Amid Bhool Chuk Maaf two-week OTT window row, Kamal Haasan CONFIRMS that Thug Life to arrive on digital 8 weeks after theatrical release: “It'll make the industry healthy. It's not even an experiment. It's a pragmatic thing to do”

Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam, A R Rahman, Silambarasan T R, Trisha Krishnan, Abhirami and Ashok Selvan attended the press conference of their much-awaited Pan India film, Thug Life, at a multiplex in Mumbai. A few weeks ago, there were reports that this much-awaited film would arrive on a digital platform after completing 8 weeks in cinemas. This was a significant move as most Tamil biggies opt to arrive on OTT in just 4 weeks. The national chains, that is, PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis, have a strict rule of not releasing films that don’t adhere to the eight-week rule. As a result, the trade was excited over this development. With a release in the biggest multiplex chains, the chances of Thug Life scoring, especially in the Hindi version, will be significantly higher.

At the Thug Life Mumbai press conference, Kamal Haasan was asked about it and he confirmed that the reports were indeed true. He said, “It's not even an experiment. It's a pragmatic thing to do. I am glad the OTT platforms agreed and we sat together. It was not a negotiation. It's a plan which maybe others could follow. It'll make the industry healthy. We are glad that we are the first to be there to avail of that opportunity.”

The news comes at a time when Bhool Chuk Maaf, starring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi, is all set to arrive on Amazon Prime Video within two weeks of its theatrical release. The national chains have made an exception with this film due to the intervention of the court.

Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan was also asked about the box office expectations for his upcoming film. He commented, “We are not looking at 'how big'. But it shouldn't be 'how small' (laughs). We have to look at break-even because it's a business. Mani is from a business school and I am from this business. I grew up in this business. So, you can't disrespect business and do business with the business.”

Thug Life releases in cinemas on June 5 worldwide.

Hera Pheri 3 Fallout: Priyadarshan rages at Paresh Rawal, stands by Akshay Kumar’s legal move; EXPLODES, "I’d rather retire than deal with this"

When I got a call from the super-prolific Priyadarshan at around 8 pm on Tuesday, he sounded visibly upset. “What the f**k is wrong with these people? Why is Paresh, whom I’ve always considered an integral part of my film family, behaving in such a manner? I don’t need this. I don’t need to make any films at all. I’m more than happy with what I’ve made so far. And I am financially well-off. I don’t need to make Hera Pheri or any other film.”

So how did this project even happen? “You know very well that I never wanted to return to Hera Pheri — not twenty-five years ago when it was first made, and certainly not now. It was my dear friend Akshay Kumar who persuaded me. One day, while we were shooting Bhoot Bungla, he came to me and said, ‘I have paid a huge amount of money for the Hera Pheri rights. I’ve asked Suniel and Paresh to be part of Hera Pheri 3, and they have happily agreed. Now I am asking you. Will you direct Hera Pheri for me?’ Of course, I said yes. I can’t say no to Akshay. Otherwise, I had no interest in revisiting Hera Pheri.”

Pausing for breath, Priyan confided how stressed the entire incident has made him. “I’m in my village right now, peacefully spending time with my relatives, watching the sky. The last thing I need is this kind of tension. I don’t care for the stress of filmmaking anymore. I would be happy to retire right now. I’ve done enough work. I no longer feel excited about filmmaking.”

So, what exactly is the explanation Paresh Rawal has given for his sudden exit? “That’s the thing — he hasn’t given me or Akshay any explanation. After Akshay asked me to come on board, I came up with an idea for Hera Pheri 3, which everyone liked. Yes, Paresh loved it too. We even shot a bit for the film, and everyone was happy. There was no sign of any unhappiness from Paresh. I don’t know where this is coming from. I feel the whole thing is one big conspiracy.”

Did Paresh indicate his withdrawal to you directly? “Nothing! He indicated nothing. When I heard about his decision, I messaged him to ask what happened. He replied saying I shouldn’t try to call him because he didn’t want to talk about it, and that he does not want to disrespect me. Is this how you show respect? Subhash, I am very, very hurt. There are two actors I’ve worked with the most: Mohanlal and Paresh Rawal. In Hindi, I don’t think there’s any actor I’ve worked with as extensively as Paresh. Every time I wrote a script in Hindi; I would find a proper place for Paresh.”

On Akshay Kumar’s Rs. 25 crore lawsuit against Paresh Rawal “I’m not surprised. It’s his money. He paid a huge amount for the Hera Pheri rights. Now suddenly one of the core actors decides to opt out. It’s Akshay’s problem, not mine. He has all my support. But the financial losses are his. By the way, everyone — including Paresh — has been paid an advance.”

Would Hera Pheri 3 be made without Paresh? Priyan loses his cool at the question. “I don’t give a f**k. I don’t care whether it’s made or not. I was doing it for Akshay. I really don’t want to work anymore. I have some commitments to fulfil. I’ve just completed Bhoot Bungla with Akshay, and I have a film with Akshay and Saif that I am committed to direct. Beyond that, I don’t need this kind of tension. I would rather play with my grandchild than make movies with unprofessional actors.”

Randeep Hooda to star in war drama based on Operation Khukri

Following the critical and commercial success of Jaat, actor Randeep Hooda is set to lead his next feature — a military war drama based on one of the Indian Army’s most complex international operations. Titled Operation Khukri, the film will chronicle the daring 2000 rescue mission in Sierra Leone, West Africa, where 233 Indian soldiers were held hostage by rebel forces.

The upcoming film draws its narrative from the real-life operation carried out by the Indian Army as part of a United Nations peacekeeping mission. At the centre of the story is Major General Raj Pal Punia, who, at the time, was a young Company Commander in the 14th Mechanised Infantry. The mission tested the limits of leadership and resilience, as the Indian contingent survived a 75-day siege in hostile territory before launching a successful counteroffensive.

Randeep Hooda, who will take on the role of Major General Punia, described the project as one that holds personal and national significance. “Operation Khukri is a story that moved me deeply. It’s not just a tale of guns and glory, but of sacrifice, brotherhood, and unyielding courage in the face of insurmountable odds. To step into the shoes of Major General Punia, a man who led his men out of a 75-day siege in an unknown land, is an honour and a responsibility. Our aim is to bring to life a chapter of Indian military history that deserves far more recognition — not just for the spectacle, but for the spirit of our soldiers who would rather die than surrender. I believe this story has the power to inspire every Indian,” Hooda said.

The rights to adapt the story have been officially secured by Rahul Mittra Films and Randeep Hooda Films. The film is based on the book Operation Khukri: The Untold Story of the Indian Army’s Bravest Peacekeeping Mission Abroad, published by Penguin Random House India.

The mission itself, intended initially as a peacekeeping effort, escalated into a tense standoff in the jungles of Kailahun. With limited resources and surrounded by hostile forces, the Indian soldiers’ survival and eventual escape is remembered as a significant military achievement. The film is expected to explore the strategy, endurance, and courage behind the operation, while highlighting a lesser-known chapter of India’s international military engagement.

OMG 3 in early development as Akshay Kumar, Amit Rai discuss ideas: Report

Amidst wrapping up the shoot for Bhooth Bangla, actor Akshay Kumar spent the weekend in Kerala engaging in creative discussions with OMG 2 director Amit Rai. The duo reportedly used the final leg of the horror-comedy shoot as an opportunity to flesh out early ideas for the third installment in the Oh My God franchise.

According to a report by Pinkvilla, Amit Rai accompanied Akshay Kumar to Kerala during the three-day song shoot of Bhooth Bangla, where they extensively discussed potential narratives for OMG 3. The report quoted a source saying, “Amit Rai had multiple ideas for OMG 3, and he discussed all the plot points with Akshay Kumar throughout the stay. The duo brainstormed over various directions the story could take. The intent is to continue the most loved franchise, and take the third part on floors in 2026.”

Both Akshay and Amit reportedly shared a strong creative rapport over the weekend. As of now, Amit Rai is working on developing a draft that could shape the third chapter of the courtroom social dramedy series. “Following the success of OMG and OMG 2, the stakes are high. The makers are in no hurry to rush through the process. They want the story to carry the franchise’s legacy while introducing fresh elements,” the source added.

If everything falls into place, OMG 3 is likely to go on floors in the second half of 2026. Rahul Vaidya rejects Rs 50 lakh offer from Turkey amid row over country’s support to Pakistan

Singer and reality TV personality Rahul Vaidya has made headlines after revealing that he turned down a lucrative professional offer from Turkey, citing the country’s stance post Operation Sindoor. His decision comes days after actress Rupali Ganguly publicly called for a boycott of Turkey, criticizing the country’s support to Pakistan following the Indian military operation.

In an interview with Bombay Times, Vaidya opened up about his choice and said that no amount of money could sway him when it came to prioritizing national interest. “The offer was lucrative—they were paying me Rs 50 lakh. But I told them that no work, no money, and no fame is bigger than the interest of the country. They even offered me more, but I made it clear that it wasn’t about the money. This issue is far more important than that. It’s not about me as an individual; it’s about the nation. And we have to stand by our nation," he said.

Rahul, who gained immense popularity after his stint in Indian Idol and Bigg Boss, made it clear that patriotism holds greater value to him than international exposure or financial gain. “I have no interest in going to a country that is an enemy of my country and does not respect it. Whatever I am today is because of my country and my fellow countrymen. Anyone who goes against the interests of my country and countrymen will not be entertained,” he added.

Vaidya further highlighted how Indian citizens have significantly contributed to Turkey’s tourism and hospitality industry in recent years, especially through high-end destination weddings and luxury vacations. Expressing his disappointment, he said, “Indians spend so much money in Turkey and give them enormous business by hosting weddings there. We give them revenue worth crores and this is how they respond? How can we continue spending money in a country that isn’t even loyal to us?"

Rahul Vaidya’s stance has garnered attention on social media as more public figures express concern over geopolitical ties and national dignity igniting conversations around responsible global engagement and cultural diplomacy continue to intensify in the entertainment industry.

Rahi Anil Barve BREAKS SILENCE on Shraddha Kapoor’s exit from Ektaa Kapoor’s film over Rs 17 crores fee demand

Reports are doing the rounds that Shraddha Kapoor is no longer a part of Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming thriller. However, filmmaker Rahi Anil Barve, who is said to be directing the film, has seemingly dismissed the rumours. “These are all rumours. Everything is a rumor,” Barve told Bombay Times when asked about Shraddha’s exit. He did not confirm or deny her departure but added a cryptic note: “Right now all I can say is that I'm finishing Rakt Brahmand. I am working on my next. That's it.”

Readers may recall that Bollywood Hungama reported that Shraddha reportedly asked for a fee of Rs 17 crores, along with a share in the film’s profits. This would have made her one of the highest-paid actresses in Bollywood. However, the latest PeepingMoon report stated that Ekta Kapoor found the amount too high, especially considering the challenges faced by women-led films at the box office.

Due to this, the film’s budget may have been impacted, and the producers have now started looking for a new lead. The report added that the makers are in talks with several top actresses to step in.

Meanwhile, Shraddha is said to be exploring multiple projects. She is reportedly in talks with Dinesh Vijan, Boney Kapoor, and Bhushan Kumar. A formal announcement about her next project is expected within the next two months.

While there has been no official confirmation from Shraddha Kapoor or Ekta Kapoor's team, director Rahi Anil Barve has resumed work on his upcoming web series Rakt Brahmand. The fantasy drama stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Ali Fazal. It was earlier delayed due to financial issues but is now set to begin filming in Mumbai next month. Barve is expected to focus on Ekta’s thriller only after finishing this project.

Salman Khan to play Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu in his next: Report

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is set to step into the shoes of a national hero for his next film, as reports confirm that he will portray Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu, the brave heart who laid down his life during the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops. The film will be directed by Shootout at Lokhandwala and Mission Istaanbul director Apoorva Lakhia and is scheduled to go on floors in July 2025.

The project is said to be based on the real-life story of Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu MVC, who served as the commanding officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment. He was killed in action during the 2020 China–India skirmishes in the Galwan Valley, becoming the first Indian Army officer to be KIA against the PLA since 1967. His heroic actions, despite being outnumbered, are chronicled in the acclaimed book ‘India’s Most Fearless 3’ by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh.

“Colonel Babu’s character is heroic. He had proved his mettle in several counterinsurgency and infiltration operations. The director has acquired the rights to the first chapter called I Had Never Seen Such Fierce Fighting — The Galwan clash of June 2020. It is a first-hand account of the 2020 clash at the Galwan Valley,” a source told Mid-Day. The screenplay has been adapted by Suresh Nair, in collaboration with Chintan Gandhi and Chintan Shah, with Shah also writing the dialogues. “Salman loved the story and will begin his prep from the end of May. He has already begun physical training for his role at his farmhouse in Panvel,” the source added.

This collaboration marks Salman Khan’s first project with Apoorva Lakhia. A source close to the production earlier confirmed, “Salman Khan has locked Apoorva Lakhia as his next film, and it is confirmed to go on floors in July 2025.”

In earlier report by Bollywood Hungama, sources stated, “Salman Khan will be shooting at high-altitude Ladakh for director Apoorva Lakhia's next. He has begun the training process and will be appearing in a lean physique for the film. It's a 20-day schedule in Ladakh, followed by 50 days in Mumbai, calling it a wrap. The film will release in the first half of 2026.”

With a tight 70-day schedule split between the rugged terrain of Ladakh and urban settings in Mumbai, the film is expected to offer a gripping and respectful portrayal of bravery, sacrifice, and national pride.

Ram Gopal Varma slams Indian filmmakers in scathing post; says, "We push their dumbness further down"

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has once again sparked a debate with his unapologetically blunt take on the state of Indian cinema. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Varma compared Indian filmmakers to Hollywood’s approach, specifically praising Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning, which marks the last chapter in the globally popular spy franchise led by Tom Cruise.

In his post, Varma wrote, “The difference between them and us is they assume the audience to be intelligent and push their intelligence further up, by making films like #MissionImpossibleTheFinalReckoning. On the contrary, we assume the audience to be dumb and we push their dumbness further down in the hope of even reaching the dumbest of the audience by making films like ____________.”

While he left the last bit open-ended, many followers shared their disappointment over the filmmaker’s attitude—especially given his own track record in recent years. Social media users were quick to “fill in the blank” with titles from Varma’s own filmography, including Agyaat, Aag, D Company, Department, and even Sarkar 3, all of which failed to strike a chord with audiences or critics. Some also took issue with Varma’s tendency to praise Hollywood while mocking Indian cinema. “We Indians have habit of downgrading our things and hyping average stuff coming from International market....” read one of the comments.

The difference between them and us is they assume the audience to be intelligent and push their intelligence further up, by making films like #MissionImpossibleTheFinalReckoning On the contrary we assume the audience to be dumb and we push their dumbness further down in the hope… — Ram Gopal Varma (@RGVzoomin) May 18, 2025

Known for speaking out against the film industry on multiple occasions, Varma has never shied away from shocking statements including his recent comments on over-the-top commercial entertainers and the increasing trend of relying on CGI-heavy action without strong screenwriting or character arcs. His latest statement, however, directly pits Indian filmmakers against Hollywood’s legacy franchises, particularly praising Mission Impossible. Jr NTR to play a character that extends beyond War 2 in YRF spy universe: Report

Telugu superstar Jr NTR is all set to make his much-anticipated Hindi film debut in War 2, and recent reports suggest his character is not just a one-time appearance. According to a source quoted by ETimes, the actor's role has been crafted as a key player in the YRF Spy Universe, with plans extending far beyond the upcoming action film.

“His character won’t just be limited to War 2. Expect standalone films, spin-offs, and major crossover appearances,” the insider revealed to ETimes, hinting at the studio’s larger plans to integrate him across multiple projects which are a part of the franchise. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 stars Hrithik Roshan reprising his role as RAW agent Kabir, with Jr NTR playing an antagonist.

The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on August 14, 2025, and is being pitched as one of the biggest face-offs in Indian cinema. With this sequel, YRF is not only expanding the narrative of War (2019) but also strengthening the interconnected web of its espionage universe.

The YRF Spy Universe began with Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and has since grown to include Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, and Tiger 3. Each instalment has introduced high-octane action, international missions, and larger-than-life characters. Shah Rukh Khan’s character Pathaan and Salman Khan’s Tiger have already crossed paths in Tiger 3, while Pathaan 2 and a rumored Tiger vs Pathaan film are in the works. Joining this world will also be Alia Bhatt starrer Alpha which will also star Sharvari in a key role.

With Jr NTR’s entry, the universe is getting its first major South Indian star, signalling a strategic move to appeal to Pan-India audiences. This aligns with Aditya Chopra’s long-term vision to build a Marvel-style spy-verse rooted in Indian cinema where characters cross paths across storylines and timelines.

Sources close to the development say that Jr NTR’s character is layered, morally complex, and could straddle the line between heroism and grey shades. Now with the new update on the Telugu superstar’s role, it seems that War 2 will not only be an explosive action spectacle but it will also lay the foundation of a much larger cinematic ecosystem.
