YRF to screen Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger 3 from 7 AM on Nov 12; advance booking starts on Nov 5

Yash Raj Films (YRF), one of Bollywood's most prominent production houses, is all set to make this festive season even more exciting with the highly anticipated release of Tiger 3, the latest instalment in the YRF Spy Universe. The Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge actress penned a beautiful note, dedicating it to him, not only gushing about his photographic skills of Gowariker but also went on to even compare him to one of the biggest fashion photographs, Gautam Rajyadaksha.

Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, sister of Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor, is all set to make her debut on the small screen. According to recent reports, she has given her nod to be a part of Netflix's reality series, The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, which is gearing up for its upcoming season.

The previous two seasons of the show featured an ensemble cast consisting of Neelam Kothari, Maheep Kapoor, Bhavna Pandey, and Seema Sajdeh, offering viewers an exclusive peek into their professional and personal lives. This time, the series is set to welcome Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, alongside two other accomplished female entrepreneurs.

As per a recent report in Mid-Day, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni will be joining the much-anticipated new season of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, along with Shalini Passi and Kalyani Saha Chawla. An insider told the publication, "Fabulous Lives is travelling from Mumbai to Delhi. The creative team realized that they needed to introduce new faces into the mix. All three are well-known celebrities based in Delhi, but connected to Bollywood in one way or the other."

Shalini Passi, an art and design collector, also serves as an art advisor and creative director at Pasco Group. She shares a close friendship with Bollywood icons Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan. On the other hand, Kalyani Saha Chawla is the founder and CEO of a luxury home decor brand specializing in silver items, and she doubles as a consultant for a global luxury fashion brand.

All three of these women share a strong bond with renowned filmmaker and producer Karan Johar, and they were delighted to become a part of his show. The insider further revealed, "The story will move forward as Maheep, Bhavna, Seema, and Neelam meet the trio in Delhi."

For the unversed, The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives showcases the glamorous lives of four best friends as they navigate the complexities of friendship, family, and their careers. Dunki teaser to release on the birthday of Shah Rukh Khan; report

With the birthday of Shah Rukh Khan just around the corner, fans cannot keep calm and have been requesting the makers of the superstar’s upcoming film to give them an update about the celebrations. And it seems they have decided to indeed treat their fans with the first glimpse or rather the teaser of the actor’s next. The actor is gearing up for the release of Dunki next month and on the day of his birthday, the makers have decided to unveil its first teaser.

In fact, just earlier we reported that the makers have already received their certification for the teasers earlier on October 30. One of the recent reports have confirmed that makers are planning to digitally release the teaser. Confirming the same, a source was quoted in a Pinkvilla report saying, “The teaser will hit the digital world on November 2, 2023. That’s not all. Shah Rukh Khan will be hosting a birthday event for his fans in Mumbai, and will see the teaser with all his fans on his special day.”

Not too long ago, Bollywood Hungama had exclusively reported that the teaser of Dunki will be attached with the Salman Khan starrer action drama Tiger 3 wherein we had also mentioned that the teaser may be launched digitally prior to this release. "The audience can consume it on the small screen first before witnessing the magic unfold on the big screen. Interestingly, Shah Rukh Khan fans will now get 2 and not 1 reason to watch Tiger 3. Their favorite King Khan makes a dashing cameo in Tiger 3 they are ready to buy a ticket. But now, with the Dunki teaser, they have another reason to celebrate," a source had told Bollywood Hungama.

Dunki marks the first collaboration of Shah Rukh Khan with Rajkumar Hirani and also features Taapsee Pannu as its leading lady. The film is slated for release on December 22, 2023 in cinemas worldwide.

BREAKING: Two teasers of Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Dunki passed by CBFC with ‘U’ certificate

2023 is the year of Shah Rukh Khan without doubt. The superstar began the year with Pathaan, which emerged as an all-time blockbuster. Pathaan’s record was broken by his next film, Jawan. Hence, all eyes are already on his next film, Dunki. The excitement is double since the film is helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, who’s known to give all-time blockbusters. Fans have been desperate for a sneak peek of the film, and it seems like the wait is about to get over.

It has come to light that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has granted the censor certificate to the two teasers of Dunki. The certification process was completed today, that is, October 30.

While the first teaser of Dunki is 58 seconds long, the second teaser has a run time of 1 minute 58 seconds. Both the teasers have been granted a ‘U’ certificate.

Interestingly, the name of the applicant and producer on the certificate is Sahil Chandramohan Khosla. As per sources, he’s a part of Rajkumar Hirani Films, which has also produced the film. The development is significant as instead of Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, it is Rajkumar Hirani’s production house that completed the censor process.

It now remains to be seen when these teasers will be out in public domain. Bollywood Hungama had recently broken the news that Dunki’s teaser will be attached with Salman Khan-starrer Tiger 3, which will release in cinemas on Diwali.

Besides Shah Rukh Khan, Dunki also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal and Boman Irani. It arrives in cinemas on December 22, 2023.

The premiere episode of the new season saw the presence of star-couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh who came together for the first time on the Koffee couch, spilling the beans on their marriage, proposal, sharing the first glimpse of their wedding and more. In the episode, Deepika talked about her relationships and said, “I wanted to be single for a while because I had come from difficult relationships. Kangana Ranaut shares video; pleads her fans to watch Tejas after its disastrous start

Kangana Ranaut returned to theatres post the not-so-successful Chandramukhi 2 which featured her alongside Raghava Lawrence. While the film attempted to revive the blockbuster franchise which originally featured South stalwarts like Rajinikanth, Jyothika, Nayanthara, and Prabhu, failed to live up to the kind of blockbuster created by the 2005 film, the actress has now returned to theatres with another venture, Tejas. Although Tejas is a Bollywood film, it aims at touching the patriotic emotions within since it features Kangana in the role of an air force officer.

However, despite a massive fan following on social media, Kangana Ranaut has been unable to withstand the box office pressure and her recent release led to a disastrous start at the box office. This has not gone down well with the actress and although she often blames the ‘movie mafia’ for the failure of her movies, this time around Kangana has called this to be the ‘post COVID effect’.

Kangana Ranaut has taken to social media to share a video dedicating it to her fans and pleading them to go to theatres and watch the film. “Even before Covid, theatrical footfalls were dipping drastically, and post Covid it has become seriously rapid. Many theatres are shutting down and even after free tickets and many reasonable offers, drastic footfall decline is continuing. Requesting people to watch films in theatres and enjoy them with family and friends or else they (theatres) won’t be able to survive. Thanks (sic)."

Anil Kapoor signs an international project with filmmaker Ritesh Batra: Report

Anil Kapoor has reportedly signed an international project with filmmaker Ritesh Batra. It is a mature romantic movie where an unusual relationship begins between an Indian man and a French woman. It marks Batra's comeback after four years.

A source close to the development spoke to Pinvkvilla and revealed, "Anil Kapoor loved the script and has already given his nod. The film is set to be a grand Indo-French production, and if all goes well, it will go on floors early next year."

This will be Kapoor's third international project after Academy Award-winning Slumdog Millionaire (2008) and Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011).

Meanwhile, Anil Kapoor will star in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal. Anil plays the role of Ranbir Kapoor's father Balbir Singh in the film. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol and Triptii Dimri. It is scheduled to release on December 7, 2023. Bigg Boss OTT fame Palak Purswani to be seen in upcoming web-series Flight Attendant

Palak Purswani, who gained popularity with shows like Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke, web-series Dil Hi Toh Hai, Roohaniyat, and the recent Bigg Boss OTT Season 2. While the actress managed to create quite a bit of stir during her short stint on the show wherein she appeared with her ex-fiance Avinash Sachdev, is expected to have bagged an interesting project. According to sources, the actress is all set to be part of an upcoming web-series titled Flight Attendant.

At this point, not much is known about the project but sources say that the show will star Palak Purswani in a pivotal role and it will be made by Bodhi Tree. Her character is being said to be a cheerful and lively girl. The series is also rumoured to star Kanika Mann and Sanam Johar. Palak has previously shared screen space with Kanika in Roohaniyat which was also produced by Bodhi Tree. Palak and Kanika’s characters are said to be close friends and share a warm bond on the show. The series is likely to be streaming on Hungama Play soon.

Bollywood Hungama OTT India Fest Day 2 EXCLUSIVE: Yuvraj Menda on ‘Sunoh’ from The Archies, “I was shocked on how accurate the song is to the world of The Archies”

Yuvraj Menda is making his big debut, along with a host of debutants, in Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies. The first song from the film called ‘Sunoh’ was recently launched at the Bollywood Hungama OTT India Fest in Mumbai.

After the launch, Yuvraj said that the song perfectly matches the movie. “I was shocked because of how accurate it (the song) is to the world of (The) Archies. I think it’s such a good representation and such a good taste of the first taste into rebellion. It conveys the youthfulness and ‘happily ever after’ feeling, which you will only find in a comic book normally,” he said.

His character Dilton in the film is that of a nerd but he is glad that it isn’t treated in a stereotypical way. “I always knew that Dilton is like a nerd, but he isn’t portrayed like your stereotypical nerd in the comics,” said Yuvraj. “Like, he doesn’t have a sense of embarrassment attached to how knowledgeable he is. Instead, he has a sense of pride and confidence attached to it. And I was really happy to see that portrayed in the movie as well when I read the script for the first time.”

Yuvraj said that he and other debutants are finding it difficult to believe that they are making their debut with a product like The Archies. “I can’t wait for this to finally be shared with the whole world globally on Netflix platform. I still can’t believe that it is going to be up there alongside my favourite shows and movies on the service. I am honored and I feel very grateful to be doing what we are doing,” he said.

Golmaal stars Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor reunite for untitled horror-comedy; deets inside

Actors Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor teamed up after a long time to star in director Sangeeth Sivan's untitled horror comedy. After the Golmaal franchise, the duo is coming back together again to tickle your funny bones with a coalesce of horror. Produced by Jayesh Patel under the banner of Bravo Entertainment, it also features a stellar ensemble cast of Sonia Rathee, Siddhi Idnani, Jay Thakkar, Varun Pande, Dherendra Tiwari, and Abishek Kumar. The film recently went on floors and began filming in Faridabad.

Having worked in Hindi and Malayalam films, director Sangeeth Sivan gives insight into the film. He said, "The film is a nostalgic trip back to 2007 when young people lived together in a small house and enjoyed each other's company without the distraction of smartphones and social media. They were more engaged with each other in person, playing games, telling stories, and just hanging out. While every genre is challenging, comedy relies heavily on the chemistry and camaraderie between actors, as well as great lines. Horror, on the other hand, requires solid technique to create the desired mood. Combining these two genres is both fun and challenging."

Describing his working experience reuniting with Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor, he mentioned, "With Shreyas, previously we've done comedy film Apna Sapna Money Money and horror film Click now we are doing both in one film. There's always an ease level when you've worked with someone before, and you know what they can bring to the table. I've been in touch with Tusshar ever since Kya Kool Hain Hum, and we have a great relationship. When I first wrote this role, I was sure that Tusshar was the best person for it."

Producer stated, "When I collaborated with renowned director Sangeeth Sivan, my reason for backing this story was very simple: it had high entertainment value coupled with a meaningful message about the youth of today. The story revolves around young individuals who are trying to balance their careers and personal lives until they accidentally summon a ghost. Each of the actors brings a unique and quirky touch to their characters, perfectly fitting the roles written in the script. With an engaging storyline, comedic moments, and an overall entertaining theatrical experience, we hope to leave the audience with a smile on their faces."

The movie is touted to be based on a clique of friends, seeking a thrill, using an Ouija board to connect a ghost for fun. But, they soon realized that their house had become haunted by the advent of a female spirit.

Preity Zinta buys Rs 17.01 crore apartment in Bandra

Bollywood actor Preity Zinta has purchased an apartment in Mumbai's Bandra for Rs 17.01 crore, according to documents accessed by realty platform IndexTap.com. The apartment, with a carpet area of 1,474 sq ft, is located in the posh locality of Pali Hill and comes with two reserved parking spots. 

The seller is Keystone Realtors Limited and the document was registered on October 23. Zinta paid a stamp duty of Rs 85.07 lakh for the apartment, the documents showed.

Having said that, it is worth mentioning here that the above-stated property on Nargis Dutt Road is situated on the 11th floor of the same building that she lived in before she got married. For the unversed, after tying the knot with Gene Goodenough, a financial analyst by profession, Preity moved to California.

5 years after their marriage, the couple became parents to twins, a boy and a girl, through surrogacy.

In a recent conversation with ANI, Preity spoke about her journey as a parent. She revealed that she plays the ‘Koi...Mil Gaya' title track to make her little ones sleep. "The title track, 'Koi...Mil Gaya' is something I play when my kids don't go to sleep, it helps calm them down," Preity shared, while calling her children "jadoo" (magic).

According to sources close to the development, the first teaser of Shah Rukh Khan's Christmas 2023 release, Dunki, will be attached to Tiger 3 in cinema halls all across the world.

"Dunki is the next biggest Indian feature film after Tiger 3 and it's the most obvious call to bring out the teaser with this actioner reaching out to a wide section of audience. All it took was a call from SRK to his two friends, Aditya Chopra and Salman Khan. The teaser of Dunki will be screened across the globe with Tiger 3 on the big screen, preparing the audience for a roller coaster journey at Christmas," a source told Bollywood Hungama.

The teaser of this Rajkumar Hirani directorial will be launched much before in the digital world. "The audience can consume it on the small screen first before witnessing the magic unfold on the big screen. Interestingly, Shah Rukh Khan fans will now get 2 and not 1 reason to watch Tiger 3. Their favorite King Khan makes a dashing cameo in Tiger 3 they are ready to buy a ticket. But now, with the Dunki teaser, they have another reason to celebrate," the source explained.

With Dunki, SRK is expected to score a hat-trick of blockbusters in 2023 and the Rajkumar Hirani film is expected to be the best and the biggest film of the year scoring new all-time records.

Ranbir Kapoor confirms Ayan Mukerji is busy with Brahmastra 2 script; addresses the criticism for part 1: “From the dialogues or people saying that Shiva and Isha's chemistry was somewhere missing…”

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor may not be on social media officially but he often interacts with his fans. In a conversation with his fans over a Zoom call, Ranbir Kapoor revealed that Ayan Mukerji is busy with the script writing of the second instalment.

Ranbir Kapoor said, “So Brahmastra 2 is heavy into writing. We are working on it all the time, it was just last week that Ayan narrated the film to me. Ayan has gone ten times bigger than part 1, his idea, his thought, and the characters. He is working on War 2 right now, so the plan is to finish War 2 by mid-next year and we start shooting hopefully by the end of next year, or the beginning of next to next year. But definitely, there's a lot of work which is already happening on the film in the writing process. ”

He also said that in terms of dialogues, the chemistry – they have taken all criticism into consideration. Ranbir added, “We have really understood the kind of criticism we got for the film. What worked for it and what didn't work for it? So we want to put everything into consideration. From the dialogues or people saying that Shiva and Isha's chemistry was somewhere missing... There was a lot of criticism that was constructive so we are taking that into our stride, and trying to understand that and kind of go beyond that.”

Brahmastra was released last year in September and was one of the most successful Hindi films post-pandemic. Starring him and Alia Bhatt, the film was about a man Shiva on a journey to discover the origins of his superpowers and falling in love with a woman Isha who helps on this journey.

Filmmaker Karan Johar and superstar Shah Rukh Khan have been friends for decades. Karan addresses SRK as 'Bhai' and has worked with him on several projects. In a recent conversation, Karan opened up about his sexuality and how SRK helped him come to terms with it.

On the show Be A Man Yaar, Karan Johar said, "He was born and raised in a very progressive environment. He comes from the theatre. He had worked with all kinds of people. My parents, perhaps, weren't able to understand things. My feminine side that was coming out so strongly was only met with laughter or with being made fun of. And then when I grew a little older, people got quieter about it. But I could tell whether there was a slight chitter-chatter about the way I was walking or speaking. I remember Shah Rukh Khan was the first, kind of like, man that didn't make me feel lesser for some reason. I feel like he accepted what in those days were considered being pansy, being effeminate or walking funny. He was just so cool about anything. He even had a lot of open chats with me. Whenever I had to say the biggest thing about my personality and sexuality, I spoke to him first. He was that one sense of support. Even he doesn't realise what he's been to me."

"It's what he didn't say. It's what he didn't bring up. It's what he normalised, that I sat funny or walked funny. Whenever I said campy things, he laughed. He would hang out with me, laugh with me. It isn't what he said, it's what he didn't say. It's all that matters," Karan added.

Former India Spinner Bishan Singh Bedi, father of Angad Bedi, passes away at 77

Former India captain and legendary spinner Bishan Singh Bedi passed away on Monday after a prolonged illness. He was the father of actor Angad Bedi and father-in-law of actress Neha Dhupia. He was 77 years old and is also survived by his wife.

 

Bedi was considered to be one of the greatest spinners of all time. He played 67 Tests for India between 1967 and 1979 and picked up 266 wickets. He also took seven wickets in 10 One-Day Internationals.

Bedi, along with Erapalli Prasanna, BS Chandrasekhar, and S. Venkataraghavan, was part of a quartet of spinners who revolutionised Indian cricket in the 1970s. They were known as the "spin quartet" and were responsible for some of India's most memorable victories overseas.

One of Bedi's most notable achievements was his performance in the 1977-78 Test series in Australia. He led India to a 2-3 defeat, but his team put on a mighty fight, clinching wins in the third and fourth tests. Bedi himself finished the series with 21 wickets.

Bedi was known for his subtle variations in his bowling that helped him confuse and outwit batsmen. He was also a very good fielder and was a great asset to the Indian team. Apart from his international cricket career, Bedi was also a big name domestically. He played for Delhi in the Ranji Trophy and led them to titles in 1978, 1979, and 1980, 1981.

Bedi's death is a huge loss to the world of cricket. He was a legend of the game and will be deeply missed by his fans all over the world.

According to our highly placed sources, the Dinesh Vijan production, starring Sid and Janhvi will be directed by Tushar Jalota, who last helmed the Abhishek Bachchan-led Dasvi. “Tushar has been working on a thriller for a while now and is all set to take it on floors in 2024. He narrated the film to Dinoo first, who was blown away by the content and then started reaching out to the actors,” a source told Bollywood Hungama.

The source further informed that both Sid and Janhvi were in talks for different standalone films with Dinesh Vijan, but destiny got them together when they heard about the soon-to-go-on-floor thriller. “Both Sid and Janhvi have independently heard the film and the joint narrations are expected to take place soon. The film will go on floors sometime in the first half of 2024,” the source added.

Dinesh Vijan is meanwhile all ready for the release of Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s next during the Valentine's Day 2024 weekend.

Bigg Boss OTT 2 runner-up Abhishek Malhan robbed of Rs 1.5 lakh in Africa

Former Bigg Boss OTT 2 contestant Abhishek Malhan recently lost Rs 1.5 lakh while travelling to Africa. In a video on his mother Dimple Malhan's YouTube channel, he shared the incident with his fans and explained that he had carried such a large sum of cash with him for the first time.

"I had Rs 1.5 lakh cash with me. I had to make some payment for an iPhone that I bought to gift it to someone here. Now, I see the money is simply not there in my bag, the bag is empty. My heart is genuinely racing right now," he said in the video, holding up the empty bag and walking around the room.

"Papa had told me I must take care of the money and now I have no clue what happened to the money," he added. Malhan went on to share everything he did from the moment he arrived at Delhi airport until he reached the hotel room, but he was unable to figure out how he lost the money.

"I have never carried such a huge amount of cash ever in my life. My heart is just racing. I can't believe how I lost all my money. I was supposed to buy an iPhone to gift someone and for that I got the cash, but I don't have it anymore. My dad asked me a million times to be careful with the money and I still lost it. I didn't think I would face such a thing. It's so scary and I don't know what to do about it anymore. I wish I was a bit more careful," he said.

Malhan was a participant in the second season of Salman Khan's reality show, Bigg Boss OTT, where he finished as the first runner-up. The winner of the season was YouTuber Elvish Yadav.

Sanya Malhotra starrer Mrs, Hindi remake of The Great Indian Kitchen, set for world premiere at Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival 2023

Following her performance in the blockbuster Jawan, Bollywood actor Sanya Malhotra is ready to test the international waters with the world premiere of her upcoming film Mrs, the Hindi remake of the Malayalam movie The Great Indian Kitchen. The film has been announced to have its first screening at the 27th edition of the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, which is set to take place from November 3-19, 2023. The movie will premiere on November 17, 2023.

The film’s director Arati Kadav shared a few glimpses from the film along with the announcement on her Instagram on Sunday. She wrote, “Happy to announce the World Premiere of our film Mrs at 27th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival(Poff). We all are super duper thrilled to be part of the lineup."

Dalip Tahil gets 2 months’ jail for drunk driving and crashing into an auto in 2018

Veteran actor Dalip Tahil has been sentenced to 2 months in jail by a magistrate court in Mumbai in a drunk driving case. The actor was reportedly involved in an accident when he rammed his car into an auto-rickshaw, leaving a woman injured. This incident took place in Khar, Mumbai in 2018.

As per a report in Times of India, the magistrate court relied on the doctor's evidence, who confirmed the smell of alcohol, Tahil's pupils being dilated, his walk being unsteady and his speech incoherent.

The 65-year-old actor has worked in several movies including Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Baazigar, Ishq, Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag among others. His last movie was the Vidyut Jammwal starrer IB 71. The film, which released earlier this year, saw him play the character of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Thanks to Jawan, Gadar 2, Jailer, PVR Inox records the best quarter of ALL TIME; revenue doubles to Rs. 1082 crores

The year 2022 was a terrible one for Bollywood with many big-ticket films falling like a pack of cards at the ticket window. 2023 began with a bang with Pathaan but then the subsequent months were not as exciting. Things improved from July. In August, the collections went to another level thanks to films like Gadar 2 and Jailer. September, meanwhile, was also outstanding as it saw the result of Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan, which emerged as a monstrous blockbuster.

Hence, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the biggest multiplex chain in India, PVR Inox, has recorded the best quarter of all time. In the second quarter of the financial year, it amassed a net profit of Rs. 207 crores. During the second quarter of the previous year, PVR Inox (both were separate entities then) had recorded a loss of Rs. 70 crores. The revenue (from all avenues) also doubled to Rs. 2020 crores from Rs. 1082 crores, as per a report in The Economic Times.

In Q2, PVR Inox saw gross box-office collections amounting to Rs. 1336 crores. The footfalls during these months were nearly 4.84 crores. Besides Gadar 2, Jailer and Jawan, the other Hindi films that performed exceptionally between July and September are Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, OMG 2 and Dream Girl 2. Meanwhile, July was dominated by successful Hollywood films like Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning - Part One, Oppenheimer and Barbie.

PVR Inox chief financial officer Nitin Sood stated, “It's the best quarter of all time for PVR Inox. We were reasonably confident that business would come back. The debate over whether people want to watch movies in theatres is over. Films across the board have been done across multiple languages.”

It now remains to be seen if the third quarter manages to reach the level or even surpass Q2. The possibility is there since there are tremendous expectations from Salman Khan’s Diwali release Tiger 3, Shah Rukh Khan’s Christmas bonanza Dunki and Prabhas’ much-awaited Salaar.

But that was just an emergency situation. It shouldn’t be that way. That person should be important to you on a daily basis. These are the things I learnt and realised in this two and a half year which has made me much calmer,” Aamir added.

The word ‘OTT’ has caught on big time and even the man on the street uses it frequently. Not many are aware that the full form of OTT is over-the-top. And very few people are aware that the word OTT is associated with streaming because the term is originally related to devices that go ‘over’ a cable box to give the user access to TV content. Nikhil Madhok, Head of Hindi Originals -Amazon Prime Video, informed attendees about the history of the word ‘OTT’ on the first day of the Bollywood Hungama’s two-day OTT India Fest. On the second day of the fest, Vijay Varma raised laughs as he joked about this term.

He complimented his session moderator, Rajeev Masand, “I just like the fact that you also detest the word OTT. You have been using the word 'streamers'.” Rajeev Masand, at this point, remarked that over-the-top was usually associated with loud acting. However, in most of the streaming content, the performance is anything but over-the-top.

Vijay Varma, at this point, said, “Can we start calling OTT as ATT like at-the-top?” As expected, there was laughter and claps among the audience.

He added, “People are just interested in watching good stories. Right now, as we speak, every film becomes an OTT film eventually. If you want to watch Pathaan (2023), you have to watch it on OTT. So, it’s okay. Let's not categorize people as OTT actors. It's not going to help in the long run. It's going to bite us in our own a**! Hence, let's call it ATT!”

Raj Nodimoru and Krishna DK, popularly known as Raj and DK, have emerged as filmmakers to reckon with. They carved a niche with films like 99 (2009), Shor In The City (2011), Go Goa Gone (2013) and A Gentleman (2017). But in the world of OTT, they amassed a huge fan following thanks to the success of shows like The Family Man, Farzi and Guns & Gulaabs. Hence, they were apt to head the ‘Master Class – The Hit Machine: What’s The Secret Sauce?’ on the first day of the Bollywood Hungama’s two day OTT India Fest.

When Raj and DK were asked if they ever imagined that The Family Man will become so popular, DK said, “Of course we were surprised. We had no idea how it was going to fare. The Amazon team loved it so much that they greenlit season 2. In hindsight that was a bad idea as we were paid the same money. We never asked for more money!”

Raj continued, “We were in the middle of season 2 when season 1 was released. We then realized that season 2 has to match up to season 1.”

Raj and DK were asked how do they determine if their show has become successful. Raj explained, “I am not getting into the numbers that the platform provides or doesn’t provide. Farzi, for example, became the most watched show of all time. Someone put up the metric and that’s how we knew about it. We were like ‘This is so cool’. Beyond that, it is the love that we experience.”

He also said, "Discussion about box office numbers came in 10-15 years ago. Before that, it was all about how much the film is loved or how much the word of mouth has spread. Earlier, who knew what the numbers of Sholay (1975) or Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994) were?”

Oscar winning film The Elephant Whisperers' director Kartiki Gonsalves becomes jury for All Living Things Environmental Film Festival

Renowned as the premier platform for films that champion environmental issues, ALT EFF has garnered widespread acclaim since its inception in 2020 when the festival launched amidst the pandemic and had two successful virtual runs of the festival with a hybrid format of on-ground events across India and online in 2022.

This year will see a significant expansion of the decentralised festival model with on-ground screenings planned across all states in India, with over 40 screenings planned over the festival period. The overwhelming success of the decentralised format in 2022 prompted the festival to continue this approach for its fourth edition, strengthening its foothold in the hearts of cinephiles and environmental advocates alike. A highlight of this year's festival is the presence of the distinguished Oscar-winning filmmaker, Kartiki Gonsalves. Kartiki, in collaboration with Guneet Monga, received the prestigious award for their outstanding documentary film, The Elephant Whisperers earlier in 2023 marking it as a historic win for India.

In 2023, ALT EFF will feature a curated selection of 62 compelling films, encompassing Indian and international titles across various genres including documentaries, short films, and fictional films all centred around various aspects and themes of environment, conservation and sustainability. This diverse lineup that includes 39 India Premieres promises to captivate and inspire audiences, offering a unique perspective on our planet's most pressing environmental challenges.

The festival is scheduled to kick off on December 1, 2023, and will run until December 10, 2023. This year's edition is designed to cater to a wider audience, offering both virtual screenings and in-person events in key cities across India.

On joining the festival as the jury, Kartiki expressed, "People across the world should see these films. Every person should see these films. Students, as well as adults, should watch because then they can see how the world is deteriorating slowly, and I think that in itself is a powerful motive to inspire change. It was really interesting to see how different filmmakers across different places express themselves and their own voices through the stories they decide to tell. Amrish Puri's grandson Vardhan Puri reunites with his debut film Yeh Saali Aashiqui's director Cherag Ruparel

In the year 2019, Vardhan Puri made his debut with Yeh Saali Aashiqui which won him a Filmfare nomination for Best Debutante (Male). Since then, his fans have been waiting for a reunion of the actor and Yeh Saali Aashiqui’s director Cherag Ruparel. And now as per reports, it is finally happening.

Vardhan and Cherag are going to be collaborating on yet another interesting story. While the details of the film aren't disclosed yet, the actor did confirm the reunion and expressed his excitement for the same. He said, “I have been hunting for subjects along with Cherag since a long time, so that we could find something substantial and exciting to dig our teeth into and create together. There is a very important story that we’ve found to tell and we are finalising the script currently. Once everything is in place an official announcement will be made with the entire team.” The film is a human drama that tells the story of intriguing characters.

After his debut, Vardhan starred in the horror romance Aseq with Sonnalli Seygall and was produced by Jio Studios and directed by Sarim Momin. The film released in June this year on Jio Cinemas.

Next up, the actor has a film with Vivek Agnihotri, starring stalwarts like Anupam Kher and the late Satish Kaushik, a film with Endemol directed by Sanjoy Nag and another film with Jio Studios directed by Kunal Kohli that has been shot in London. He is also working with Vikram Bhatt and Mahesh Bhatt in a film opposite Avika Gor. There are other interesting projects in the pipeline for Vardhan which are expected to be announced shortly.

Colors launches the most passionate love story of the year Chand Jalne Laga starring Kanika Mann and Vishal Aditya Singh

After the recent premiere of the new season of Bigg Boss and the conclusion of Khatron Ke Khiladi 13, the channel is now gearing up for the launch of an exciting new show on Colors. Presenting a new twisted love stories that kindles passionate romance, Colors is thrilled to introduce the fairytale drama, Chand Jalne Laga featuring a newest television pair, Vishal Aditya Singh and Kanika Mann as Dev and Tara respectively.

The story outlines an extraordinary journey of two childhood sweethearts, who once were each other’s sanctuary, but the cruel hand of fate pulls them apart. As the age-old wisdom goes, 'Love is the fire that kindles the heart,' Chand Jalne Laga is said to be a blazing fire, promising to be the most passionate love story of the year. Produced by Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s Swastik Productions, Chand Jalne Laga premieres on the October 23 and airs every Monday to Friday at 9:30 pm only on Colors.

In the backdrop of a scenic vineyard, the love story begins with Dev and Tara, who are inseparable as kids. Dev has the unique gift of understanding horses and works as a stable boy for a wealthy zamindar family, and Tara is its caged princess, who fears nearly everything. Both find solace in each other’s presence. As grown-ups, their paths cross after being separated by a huge misunderstanding, both having undergone a massive transformation. Dev, who was once optimistic and sensitive, makes a fortune and turns into a man with angst and a steely resolve. On the other hand, the fearful and dependent Tara becomes a confident and fearless lady after her family loses its riches. With the passage of time, a lot has changed in their lives except for a few things. Will those be enough to rekindle the passionate love they once shared?

BREAKING: Kareena Kapoor-starrer The Buckingham Murders to be the opening film at Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival

The Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival (October 27 to November 5) is excited to announce that this year’s Opening Night film will be The Buckingham Murders, directed by Hansal Mehta, produced by Ektaa R Kapoor, and co-produced by Indian actress and star Kareena Kapoor Khan, who will all attend the film’s red carpet event. It will receive its International Premiere on Friday, October 27 at the NMACC (Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre), following a successful World Premiere at the 67th BFI London Film Festival.

Director Hansal Mehta’s moody procedural is an exploration of grief and our longing for closure, and captures the human cost of our polarised times, featuring a career-best performance by Khan. The story follows cop and single mother Jasmeet Bhamra (Kareena Kapoor Khan), who recently lost her child in a shooting spree, as she transfers to a market town north of London and is assigned the case of a missing child.

Anupama Chopra, Festival Director at Jio MAMI, said, "Hansal Mehta and Ektaa Kapoor have redefined storytelling across formats. Hansal Mehta will be joined by Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ektaa R Kapoor at the film’s international premiere on Friday, October 27, at the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival.

Besides Kareena Kapoor Khan, it also stars Ash Tandon (of Bodyguard fame), Ranveer Brar (MasterChef India), and Keith Allen (Kingsman: The Golden Circle). It is directed by Hansal Mehta and written by Aseem Arrora, Kashyap Kapoor, and Raghav Raj Kakker. The film is produced by Balaji Telefilms and TBM Films alongside Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, and Kareena Kapoor Khan. The international sales will be handled by Madhu Entertainment.

Rasika Dugal’s Lord Curzon Ki Haveli to have its European premiere at Razors Reel Flanders at Belgium

Actor Anshuman Jha's debut directorial Lord Curzon Ki Haveli starring Arjun Mathur and Rasika Dugal is making waves around the globe. After a successful world premiere in August as the Centrepiece film at IFFM, Australia, a North American Premiere in September to a standing ovation as the Closing film at the Chicago South Asian Film Festival & a stupendous Canadian Premiere to a housefull opening night at International South Asian Film Festival in Vancouver earlier in October, the film is now set for its European Premiere at one of the biggest Genre festivals in the world - Razors Reel Flanders - in Belgium on November 2nd.

Speaking about it, director, Anshuman Jha, said, “Lord Curzon Ki Haveli is a pure genre film, in its truest sense, and I am so excited with this news. The curation at Razors Reel Flanders has been top-notch over the years & it was a dream to make the cut there. Kirti Kulhari to make her international feature debut with Sach is Life

Actor Kirti Kulhari is set to go international with her latest feature Sach is Life. The slice-of-life film, based on the extraordinary true events of an Indian immigrant family based out of the US, will mark Kirti's international debut. Written and directed by Harsh Mahadeshwar, Sach is Life is based on the original life story of the Munshi family. The film is produced by Romila Saraf Bhat, Rahul Bhat, Red Bison Productions located in Princeton, New Jersey.

According to the makers, Sach is Life narrates the compelling tale of a devoted couple who remain united in their determination to provide their three-year-old son, diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a life that he deserves. Kirti Kulhari, who plays the role of the mother, Daisy Munshi, said she is thrilled to star in the film and feels special that Sach is Life marks her international debut.

The actor—known for her powerful performances in projects like Four More Shots Please!, Criminal Justice, Pink and Human—said Sach is Life chronicles a story of rising above one's circumstances to unleash the "power of unconditional love, celebrate human spirit and to always hold on to that little thing called hope".

"The makers are from the US but it's an Indian story. I'm extremely excited to collaborate with a crew from the US and to work in an environment outside of India. I'll do my best to make it a film that we all are going to be proud of," Kirti said in a statement.

Sach is Life is gearing to go on floors next year around April. The film will be shot in Kashmir, New Delhi, New Orleans, New Jersey and New York. Kirti said she's currently in New York and has been prepping for the film for the last two to three months.

"I was in Houston, Texas in August where my writer-director lives. We met up a few times. We started going through the script scene by scene, totally going into the depths of every scene and getting to know the characters and the tone of the film."

Before Sach is Life goes on floors, Kirti said the plan is to "extensively workshop" and relentlessly work on the script, to bring the inspiring story to life. As part of the prep, she is also scheduled to meet Daisy Munshi, whose character she is set to portray.

"This is also the first time I am playing a real-life character. The family lives in Albany. We are meeting the whole family, especially Daisy ji whose character I am playing and her son, Sachin Munshi. That's a big part of the prep that I am really looking forward to. I think it will give me a lot of understanding of her story.

"I will also get to understand her personality, just by observing her, her mannerisms. It's a very challenging, tough, intense role and I know that the only way I can do this is by going all in," she added.

Sach is Life also co-stars actor Jim Sarbh. Further details about the film are awaited.

If anyone comes across it, please help. Contact me ASAP!” In a bid to heighten the chances of recovery, she tagged the official accounts of Ahmedabad Stadium and Narendra Modi Stadium in her post. The actress also included relevant hashtags such as Lost Phone, Ahmedabad Stadium, Help Needed, and indvspak to increase the post's visibility. Soon after her plea went public, the Ahmedabad Police responded with a concise comment, “Mobile phone detail.”
