Music rights of Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan sold for Rs. 25-30 cr

The Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan directed by Southern sensation Atlee has been making headlines ever since its announcement. Now, the latest update on the film is that the music rights of Jawan have been sold for an unprecedented amount. As per reports, the music rights of the highly anticipated Shah Rukh Khan film Jawan, also starring Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, helmed by renowned director Atlee Kumar have been sold for astounding Rs. 36 crores. However, a well-placed industry source reveals that contrary to reports, the rights have fetched a price in the range of Rs. 25-30 cr.

“Jawan is one of the most anticipated films of recent times, so it comes as no surprise that the music rights of the film would fetch a high price. However, unlike reports of the rights being sold for Rs. 36 cr, the makers have raked in between Rs. 25-30 cr for the same”, reveals the source. Further talking about the pricing the source continues, “Conventionally, a big budget entertainer could rake in between Rs. 20-25 cr from music rights, in an unprecedented deal the rights were sold in the range of Rs. 25-30 cr which again is much higher than usual.” If that was not enough, rubbishing claims of the rights being sold for Rs. 36 cr the source continues, “The reports are totally baseless. Rs. 36 cr is an astoundingly high amount for just the music rights. There is no chance of that happening.”

Apparently, the fierce competition for these rights witnessed several major players vying for the deal, but it was T-Series' astronomical bid that emerged as a winner, securing the highly sought-after music rights of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan.

As for the movie, the film is already generating immense buzz among cinephiles and has become the talk of the town with this new agreement. Jawan is poised to be a cinematic spectacle, combining the talents of Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi with the directorial finesse of Atlee Kumar. The film is set to deliver an enthralling narrative, filled with emotions, action, and gripping storytelling. The film, which was expected to release in August, is slated to hit big screens on September 7.

Aaman Devgan and Rasha Thadani starrer to release in February 2024

Ajay Devgn and Raveena Tandon, who have been a part of films like Gair and Dilwale, are all set for the debut of their nephew and daughter respectively. Ajay’s nephew Aaman Devgan and Raveena’s daughter Rasha Thadani are all set to enter the film industry together. Their debut venture will be directed by Abhishek aka Gattu Kapoor, and it will be produced by his wife Pragya Kapoor as well as Ronnie Screwvala. While details of the untitled film are currently under wraps, we hear that the makers have already locked the release date.

It is being said that this fresh pair will be making their big screen debut on February 9, 2024, during the Valentine’s week. However, the makers as well as the debutants are maintaining silence on the film. It is also being said that Ajay Devgn will be doing a special role in the film, details of which are yet to be revealed. Besides them, the film is also expected to mark the debut of popular television actor Mohit Malik, who is expected to be seen in a pivotal role.

Readers would recall that we had reported about the two youngsters coming together in a report in January. A source close to the industry had opened up about Abhishek Kapoor providing a launching pad for Rasha Thadani and Aaman Devgan, recalling how the filmmaker has given a platform to debut to several other stars in the past. " Over the last 15 years, Abhishek Kapoor's contribution to Indian cinema is commendable. He has identified and launched Sushant Singh Rajput, Farhan Akhtar, Rajkummar Rao, Sara Ali Khan & many others in the most phenomenal manner. His presentation of the characters in each of those films will stay with us forever. Those roles have done wonders for these actors," the source added.

While not much has been revealed about the film, it is said that the film will have a romantic angle to it. We are sure that it would be interesting to see Aaman Devgan and Rasha Thadani spread love during the upcoming Valentine’s week!

CBFC REACTS to reports of 72 Hoorain trailer certification issue; clarifies matter under due process

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has issued a statement clarifying that the trailer of the film 72 Hoorain has not been denied certification. The statement comes after co-producer Ashoke Pandit alleged that the censor board had refused to certify the trailer of the movie, which is scheduled for release on July 7.

As per a report by PTI, the CBFC said that the makers of the film had applied for certification of the trailer on June 19, and it was examined in accordance with the guidelines issued under Section 5B(2) of the Cinematograph Act, 1952. The board said that after reviewing the trailer, they had requested certain modifications from the applicant, which were communicated through a show-cause notice issued on June 27.

The CBFC said that the matter is currently pending the applicant's response and compliance with the modifications suggested. Therefore, they emphasized that any misleading reports should not be entertained or circulated while the matter is still under due process.

The CBFC also said that the film 72 Hoorain had already been granted an "A" certificate in October 2019. For the unversed, while expressing his disappointment, Ashoke, in a video message, had criticised the CBFC for hindering their creative independence and freedom of expression. He highlighted the irony of the film receiving accolades such as a National Award and recognition at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), while the trailer was denied certification. 

The film, which is directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, features Pavan Malhotra and Aamir Bashir in the lead roles. It delves into the consequences of violent extremism and garnered critical acclaim, earning Chauhan the National Film Award for Best Direction in 2021.

Producer Ekta Kapoor created a revolution in the television industry in the year 2000. She slowly and steadily also carved a space for herself in the world of movies. With the advent of digital, she established her own OTT platform and thus made giant strides. And now, she’s all set to enter new waters.

Bollywood Hungama has learnt that Ekta Kapoor has come on board for the Telugu-Tamil film, Vrushabha. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “This would be Ekta’s first Pan India film. She is meeting the film’s leading actor, Megastar Mohanlal, today at Yash Raj Films (YRF) Studios, Mumbai where she would sign the papers and then become one of the producers of this highly-awaited film.”

Vrushabha is expected to be mounted on a grand scale and rumoured to be a Rs. 200 crores project. Apart from Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms, Vrushabha is produced by AVS Studios and Connect Media.

The announcement of Vrushabha was done last year in August. The multilingual drama will be directed by Nanda Kishore and will hit theaters in 2024. It is will release in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi.

The source further said, “Ekta Kapoor’s presence will give the film a much-needed push in the Hindi speaking markets. She will be to Vrushabha what Karan Johar was to Baahubali. Needless to say, Ekta is kicked about coming on board for Vrushabha. The team of Vrushabha are also glad to welcome her in the team.”

On the work front, Ekta Kapoor just had a release, Badtameez Dil, on Amazon Mini TV. Her daily soap, Barsaatein, will be out on July 10. This year, she’ll have two major film releases – Ayushmann Khurrana-Ananya Panday-starrer Dream Girl 2 and The Crew, starring Tabu, Kareena Kapoor, Diljit Dosanjh and Kriti Sanon. Mohanlal, meanwhile, has several forthcoming releases besides Vrushabha like Drishyam 3, Jailer with Rajinikanth, etc.

Rukhsar Rehman and Faruk Kabir call it quits after 13 years of marriage: Report

Actress Rukhsar Rehman and director-producer Faruk Kabir's marriage has hit rock bottom, and the couple is heading for divorce. The two have been married for 13 years. Yes! You read it right. If a report by Hindustan Times is something to go by, then the couple has decided to part ways. 

As per a report by the portal, a source informed, “The two have been dealing with a lot of problems for the past few months and could not resolve the differences amicably despite several discussions. Hence, they have now involved families and are heading for divorce. Their family members are well aware of their decision. In fact, they have officially met to discuss the same.”

Speaking of the reason, the source added, “It’s unknown and there are several speculations around it including infidelity, but it won’t be right to comment on it because nothing is clarified yet.” However, it is worth mentioning here that neither Rehman nor Kabir has confirmed or denied the news, as of now. 

The report concluded with the source saying, “Her daughter is busy with her own career and hence she also wants to focus on hers. She has been keeping a low profile for the last few years but is a very strong woman always trying to grow.”

Rehman was previously married to Asad Ahmed and has a daughter, Aisha Ahmed, who is also an actress. Their marriage ended in divorce. Speaking of the professional front, Rehman was last seen in The Night Manager. 

Allahabad High Court continues criticising Adipurush; says Make a wrong documentary on Quran and see what will happen

Despite taking a record-breaking opening with Rs 140 crores worldwide, Om Raut’s Adipurush has been constantly in the headlines for the wrong reasons. Recently, the Allahabad High Court was hearing the PIL filed by Kuldeep Tiwari and Naveen Dhawan seeking a ban on the movie. The court continued slamming the makers of Prabhas-Kriti Sanon starrer and reprimanded them saying they portrayed the characters of Ramayana like Lord Ram and others in a ‘very shameful manner’. 

One of the judges said, according to LiveLaw, “If we will shut our mouths today then you know what will happen? These incidents are increasing day by day. I saw a movie wherein Lord Shankar was shown running with his Trishul in a very funny manner. Now, these things will be showcased?…The filmmakers earn money as films do business.”

The bench further added, “Suppose if you make even a short documentary on the Quran, depicting wrong things, then you will see what will happen…However, I may once again clarify that it is not about any one religion. It is by chance that this issue is concerned with Ramayana, otherwise, the Court belongs to all religions.”

While questioning the psyche of the makers, the bench asserted, “You should not touch the Quran, Bible and other sacred texts. We may make it clear that it is not about any one religion. But you should not depict any religion in a bad light. The court has no religion of its own. Our only concern is that the law and order situation should be maintained.”

The court also directed the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to submit their personal affidavits, adding that “certifying this movie was a blunder and that it has hurt the sentiments of the people.” Meanwhile, the Adipurush makers have been tight-lipped on the matter, so far.

Deputy CM Devendra Fadvnis reveals CBI is investigating the evidence received in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case

In the rarest of the rare case, the demise of Sushant Singh Rajput, which left the nation in shock, turned into a massive campaign with fans pressurizing the government to carry out an investigation. Although it was ruled as suicide and a case of overdose, fans continued to insist foul play, which resulted in the intervention of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister (CM) Devendra Fadnavis who is now working with the CBI in relation to the case.

In fact, recently Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis gave fans a major update about the case. He revealed that two people approached him and his team regarding evidence in the Sushant Singh Rajput case and that the same is currently being investigated. In an interview with Republic, he said, “At first, the information available was based on hearsay. However, some individuals asserted that they possessed substantial evidence regarding the case. In response, we reached out to them and requested that they submit the evidence to the police.”

He further refrained from making any more revelations adding, “Currently, we are in the process of examining the credibility of the presented evidence. The investigation is still in progress, and it would be premature for me to provide any comments on the eventual outcome of the case at this stage.”

Sushant Singh Rajput started his career as a television actor and went on to gain immense fame for his role as Manav Deshmukh in the show Pavitra Rishta which featured him alongside his then girlfriend Ankita Lokhande. The actor got his Bollywood break with Kai Po Che! (2013) and went on to do films like Shuddh Desi Romance, PK, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Kedarnath, among others. The actor was found dead at his Mumbai apartment in June 2020 and an investigation was launched over his sudden demise. His then girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty was initially considered to be a prime suspect but was later cleared of all charges.

According to our trade sources, Sajid Nadiadwala has received a very good deal from Amazon Prime Video for the direct-to-digital premiere of the film. "In times when the OTT market is crashing, Sajid Nadiadwala got a deal of Rs. 110 crores from Amazon Prime Video. As known by everyone, Bawaal is not your run-of-the-mill commercial film, and the offer from Amazon gave Sajid and his team the security of assured returns. Varun and Janhvi also agreed to this decision as the film does not have those commercial trappings," a source told Bollywood Hungama.

According to insiders, Sajid, Varun, and Nitesh believe in the power of Bawaal and will take the film globally in the digital world. In fact, the world premiere of the film will take place in Paris, and the film will premiere in 200 countries. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Bawaal is the third collaboration of Varun Dhawan and Sajid Nadiadwala after Judwaa 2 and Kalank.

The film will release on July 21 on Amazon Prime Video.

As per the official website, the membership selection is based on professional qualifications, with an ongoing commitment to representation, inclusion, and equity. Amongst them are filmmakers Karan Johar and Mani Ratnam and RRR stars Jr. NTR and Ram Charan.

Amongst actors Jr. NTR and Ram Charan’s names crop up who’ve had an illustrious year with the massive success of RRR globally followed by an Oscar win for ‘Naatu Naatu’. Karan Johar has been named in the producers’ category whereas Mani Ratnam’s name is mentioned amongst the directors.

Announcement of Blind releasing directly on OTT has come as a shocker for Sonam Kapoor

The digital invasion is here to stay. And A-lister stars are feeling the brunt of it. Just the other day, Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor were shocked to know that their collaborative labour of love Bawaal had been sold off to Prime Video.

Bawaal, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is an impressively costly films (estimated budget Rs. 275 crores) shot across several continents. It is a made-for-cinema experience starring two seemingly saleable stars Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor and its digitalized release didn’t go down well with the film’s actors.

Someone very close to one of the leads in Bawaal said, “We were shocked to know Bawaal is going straight to OTT. The film is designed for the large screen. But there is nothing anyone can do.”

This was the second time Varun Dhawan’s film was pushed to the digital domain against his wishes. The first time it was his father David Dhawan’s Coolie No.1 at the crest of the COVID-19 crisis.

Now, it is Sonam Kapoor who finds her labour of love being deprived of a big-screen release.

Sonam, who was last seen in The Zoya Factor, takes centre stage in Blind. She stars as a blind girl in the Hindi remake of the 2011 Korean film Blind, which will stream on Jio Cinema from July 7.

The announcement came as shocker to Sonam. Apparently she was not informed of the change of plans. However, as in the case of Bawaal, the producers of Blind had no choice as the theatre negotiations were not getting anywhere.

This is sad as Blind is Sonam’s only truly memorable performance since Neerja. The entire plot, about an ex-cop who goes blind in an accident that happens while she hunts down a criminal and how she chases him down in spite her physical disability, centres around Sonam’s character. Sonam, who has never done an action film before, kicks some serious butt in this Korean remake. A pity that her efforts would not be seen on the big screen.

Amid Adipurush controversy Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan to air on TV from July 3

Adipurush starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan has been in controversy since its release. Now, on popular demand of viewers, Shemaroo TV is set to bring the timeless tale of Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan to the television screen. Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan is an eternal masterpiece that has captured the hearts of millions across generations. The show will ari from 3rd July onwards at 7:30 pm.

The cast of the show includes Arun Govil as Lord Ram, Dipika Chikhlia as Sita, Dara Singh as Hanuman, and Sunil Lahri as Lakshman. Their impeccable portrayals have made them eternal favorites among fans. Ramayan will air every Monday to Sunday at 7:30 PM on Shemaroo TV.

Arun Govil, who played Lord Ram in the TV show, has been critical of Adipurush. The teaser will also start the 2-month-long marketing campaign of this epic actioner, as the teaser launch will be followed by songs and a trailer. "Jawan is set to hit the big screen on September 7 and it's exactly on July 7 that the campaign will kick start. After Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan is here to deliver another blockbuster," the trade source told us.

Jawan is set to be a Pan India release on September 7 and has music composed by Aniruddh. It's touted to be one of the biggest cinematic events of 2023. The film is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment with Atlee.

Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan untitled film to be directed by Sujoy Ghosh

A day ago, it was reported that father-daughter duo Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan will be starring in a movie together which will be produced by Red Chillies Entertainment in collaboration with Pathaan director Siddharth Anand’s Marflix Pictures. Even before her debut with The Archies, Suhana has signed her next film and will co-star alongside her superstar father. However, it is being reported that Khan's screentime will be similar to that of Dear Zindagi. Now, the makers have roped in Sujoy Ghosh to helm the movie.

Interestingly, Ghosh directed Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer Badla which was produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s production house. As per a report in Pinkvilla, a source revealed, “Shah Rukh Khan and Sujoy Ghosh have worked together in the capacity of producer and director in Badlaa starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu. The duo will now be reuniting in multiple capacities for this yet film. It’s an action thriller, and other details have been kept under wraps for now. Even Sujoy is excited to explore a new genre as a director.”

This will mark the second collaboration between SRK and Siddharth Anand. The source added, “Siddharth Anand is known for action films and SRK is collaborating with the filmmaker to collaborate on creating big action blocks for the film. The idea is to come up with an uncompromised cinematic experience with the best resources.”

Meanwhile, Suhana Khan will debut in Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies on Netflix. On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for two releases this year – Jawan and Dunki.

Amol Palekar expresses ANGER over tax-free status to propaganda films The Kashmir Files and The Kerala Story

Veteran actor and filmmaker Amol Palekar, on Monday, June 26, reacted sharply to the tax exemption given by several states to films like The Kashmir Files (2022) and The Kerala Story (2023). He also dubbed these films as ‘propaganda movies’.

Amol Palekar made these comments in Kolhapur, Maharashtra at the Samajik Salokha Parishad which was organized to celebrate the birth anniversary of the reputed king and social reformer, Shahu Maharaj. He remarked that earlier, goons used to harass the aam junta but now the government and politics support masked mobs. He also said that the minorities have been terrorized in the last few decades.

Amol Palekar expressed anger over the fact that troll armies are harassing those who have a contrary point of view and that ‘propaganda’ films like The Kashmir Files and The Kerala Story are made tax-free in India today. Remembering Shahu Maharaj, he remarked that if the social reformer was alive, those protected against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh would have gotten justice sooner. The Member of Parliament has been accused of sexual harassment by several wrestlers. Amol also said that Shahu Maharaj punished those who committed crimes against women and that he was against orthodox ideology.

Amol Palekar has gotten into controversies earlier for speaking his mind. In February 2019, he raised questions over the alleged cancellation of retrospectives of two senior artists at the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) in Mumbai. It led to a lot of brouhaha. A month before, he observed that politicians and leaders don’t face censorship when giving speeches but when he tries to show the same in films, those scenes face resistance. In April 2017, he once again questioned censor policies and approached the Supreme Court to seek a revamp of the Cinematograph Act.

On the work front, Amol Palekar was recently seen back-to-back web projects. While he played the role of Shahid Kapoor’s grandfather in Raj-DK’s web series Farzi, he essayed Sharmila Tagore’s brother-in-law in Manoj Bajpayee-starrer Gulmohar.

Famous YouTuber Devraj Patel, known for his iconic dialogue "Dil se bura lagta hai" in viral videos, tragically lost his life in a road accident on Monday, leaving his fans devastated. According to reports from the Press Trust of India (PTI), Patel was on his way to film a comedy video in Raipur when the incident occurred.

The mishap took place around 3:30 pm, as Patel was riding as a pillion passenger. Following the conclusion of a video shoot in Nava Raipur, he was en route back when the collision with a truck transpired. The accident resulted in severe injuries to his head and other parts of his body, ultimately leading to his untimely demise.

Patel held an impressive following on YouTube, with over 4 lakh subscribers, who admired his witty style and comedic videos. The news of his passing has reverberated across social media platforms, as devastated fans expressed their condolences and shared their grief on Twitter and other online forums.

Even Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel took to Twitter to express his sorrow, sharing an old video featuring himself and Patel at the CM's official residence. D.P. 2 Teaser: Jung Hae In and Koo Kyo Hwan are on a deadly mission in intense action-packed season 2

Actors Jung Hae In and Koo Kyo Hwan are all set to reprise their roles in the upcoming action-packed season of D.P. 2. Following the first glimpse at the Netflix Tudum 2023 event, the first teaser was unveiled on June 27, 2023.

In the first teaser, a soldier appears in the first scene who has drowsy eyes and seems to have to give up. He ends up committing a heinous crime by firing a rifle at people. One sees Ahn Joon Ho (Jung Hae In) and Han Ho Yeol (Koo Kyo Hwan) reprise their roles and team up to take to the streets and rescue the deserters who ran away from their positions. Actors Son Suk Goo, Kim Sung Kyun, and more also make their appearance. The season seems more intense and heavier than the first one.

The logline reads, “It'll always be the same. The deserters run, and the D.P. pursues. No matter what happened or happens nothing will ever change unless we do something, anything.”

D.P. 2 will arrive on Netflix on July 28, 2023.

Salman Khan receives death threat from gangster Goldy Brar: "We will definitely kill him"

Salman Khan has once again received a death threat. The actor has already filed a complaint with Mumbai Police after receiving a threatening email earlier this year. He has received theatres from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi as well. Now, Goldy Brar, who claimed to be allegedly behind the murder of Sidhu Moosewala, has said that he will kill Salman Khan.

In an interview with India Today channel, Goldy Brar said that his gang will “definitely kill" Salman. “We will kill him, we will definitely kill him. Bhai saheb (Lawrence) had stated that he wouldn’t apologise. Baba will show mercy only when he feels merciful,” Brar said, and referenced to Lawrence Bishnoi.

Brar continued, “Like we have said earlier, it’s not just about Salman Khan. We will continue our attempts against all our enemies as long as we’re alive. Salman Khan is our target, there’s no doubt about that. We’ll keep trying, and when we succeed, you’ll know."

REVEALED: Heres why Varun Dhawan-Janhvi Kapoor starrer Bawaal will now release on Amazon Prime Video on July 21 instead of July 27

On Saturday, June 24, Bollywood Hungama was the first one to report that Bawaal, starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, will release on Amazon Prime Video on Thursday, July 27. Now, as per our source, there’s been a change in plans.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The makers and the team of Amazon Prime Video initially decided to drop Bawaal on July 27. However, Varun Dhawan and others in the core team felt that it won’t be a correct move as Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani releases on July 28. Though KJo’s film will be released in cinemas, Varun still felt that it won’t be fair to premiere his film on OTT a day before his mentor’s much-awaited film will be out. As we all know, Varun holds Karan in high regard as the latter was the one who launched the former in Student Of The Year (2012).”

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani stars Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi.

The source continued, “The deciding authorities felt merit in this argument. Hence, they have decided to now bring Bawaal on Friday, July 21. The promotions are expected to begin in the first week of July.”

Bawaal is directed by Nitesh Tiwari of Dangal (2016) and Chhichhore (2019) fame and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala’s Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. Bollywood Hungama was also the first one to break the news that Bawaal will skip a theatrical release and premiere directly on Amazon Prime Video. Interestingly, the film originally was meant to be out in cinemas first. The release date was also fixed for October 6. On Monday, June 19, the makers and Amazon Prime Video launched a poster which made it official that the film is indeed premiering directly on OTT.

Meanwhile, reports floating on the internet state that Bawaal will have a premiere at Eiffel Tower in Paris, France in mid-July. The reports claim that Paris has an important part to play in the film and hence, the decision was taken to host the premiere in the French capital.

Shankar Mahadevan receives coveted honorary doctorate from prominent UK university

Renowned singer Shankar Mahadevan was bestowed with an honorary doctorate by Birmingham City University (BCU) at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. The ceremony, held on June 23, celebrated his remarkable contributions to music and the arts. Notably, the event witnessed the presence of tabla maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain and legendary guitarist John McLaughlin, adding to the prestigious occasion.

While accepting the honour, the singer asserted, “This is truly special, I feel privileged, I feel honoured and this is just the result of body of work that I have done. I would like to thank Birmingham City University and all the people who decided to confer this legendary, honourable doctorate on me. All I can say is that this is an occasion which tells that I need to work even harder, come up with even more beautiful songs and spread the joy of music which is Indian classical music all around the world.”

Acknowledging the presence of tabla maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain and guitarist John McLaughlin, Mahadevan further added, “When an honorary doctorate like this is conferred upon an artiste that you look up to then you’ve a goal to achieve. The youngsters feel that their dreams are coming true in front of their eyes. They also start working hard and they would also like to achieve and would like to reach possibly where I reached today. I used to look up at maestros like John McLaughlin and Ustaad Zakir Hussain like they have come to confer this upon me. So it’s nice to set a kind example for the next generation.”

The Kerala Story duo Vipul Shah and Sudipto Sen announce Bastar

Vipul Amrutlal Shah, this year, produced The Kerala Story, which was directed by Sudipto Sen. Now, the filmmaker and producer is joining hands with the director of his recent released film, The Kerala Story, Sudipto Sen for a film named Bastar.

The makers announced their second collaboration with an announcement poster in which we can see that amidst the peaceful environment, the title of the film is seen painted with the color of blood red. BREAKING: Abhishek Bachchan bags Shoojit Sircars next; goes on floors in August

Actor Abhishek Bachchan is all set to complete 23 years on June 30. On this day, in the year 2000, his debut film Refugee was released in cinemas. In recent times, his web show Breathe: Into The Shadows was highly praised, especially his challenging act. Interestingly, he hasn’t had a theatrical release in almost 5 years. His love triangle Manmarziyaan arrived on the big screen in September 2018. He was then seen in films like Ludo (2020), The Big Bull (2021), Bob Biswas (2021) and Dasvi (2022), all of which were released directly on OTT.

But in 2023 and 2024, Abhishek Bachchan is expected to be seen in several films. In a recent interaction with ETimes, he revealed that he has bagged Shoojit Sircar’s next film. He also stated that it’ll go on floors in August this year.

Interestingly, Shoojit has worked with his father, Amitabh Bachchan, several times. Both collaborated for a Gujarat Tourism campaign. Then Shoojit directed Big B in Shoebite, which unfortunately never saw the light of day. Then the veteran actor was seen in Shoojit’s Piku (2015), co-starring Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan. The film was a huge box office and critical success and also fetched 3 National Awards, including one for Amitabh. It remains to be seen if Shoojit’s film with Abhishek Bachchan also turns out to be yet another critical and commercial winner.

Speaking of other releases of Abhishek Bachchan, he has completed SSS7 (2019). It is a remake of the Tamil film Oththa Seruppu Size 7. SSS7 promises to make for a unique watch, as Abhishek is the only actor that features in the film. This will be followed by R Balki’s Ghoomer, co-starring Saiyami Kher and Shabana Azmi.

Another Tamil remake that Abhishek is a part of is KD (2019). The Hindi remake’s title is expected to be changed. Just like the original, the remake is also helmed by Madhumita while it is produced by Nikkhil Advani’s Emmay Entertainment. Lastly, Abhishek recently wrapped up a film, which is directed by Remo Dsouza. There were speculations that it is called Dancing Dad and is the same film that Salman was supposed to do at one point. However, recent reports suggest that Abhishek’s film has a different script altogether.

Amitabh Bachchan becomes strategic partner at generative AI company Ikonz Studios

Ikonz Studios, a generative AI company has roped in Amitabh Bachchan as its strategic partner. The company manages digital IPs across metaverse and blockchain. The plan is to raise $10 million in the series A round of the funding.

Abinav Varma Kalidindi, founder and CEO at Ikonz, told Variety, “It’s a momentous day for Ikonz as the true symbolism our name has been derived with the icon Amitabh Bachchan joining forces with us. Together we will leverage the power of generative AI to create immersive experiences that transcend physical boundaries. With our state-of-the-art technology, fans will now have the opportunity to interact with their favorite actor like never before. Who knows you might even be able to take selfies with Amit-ji [Bachchan] in your city.”

Amitabh Bachchan added, “I am intrigued with the way technology is evolving and the pace at which new innovations are coming up worldwide, one such being generative AI. I am happy to be a part of such an amazing futuristic world of generative AI , and have therefore partnered with Abinav-promoted Ikonz . Together we shall embark on this new metaverse world.”

As per the report, the company Ikonz is backed by investors including Village Global, which is a venture firm bankrolled by Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates and Reid Hoffman. It has also received investments from Woodstock and Polygon and actor Rana Daggubati and Prasad Vanga’s Anthill Ventures.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan engaged with his fans on Sunday evening during the Ask SRK session, which coincided with his completion of 31 years in the film industry. During the interactive session, Shah Rukh entertained numerous questions with his trademark wit and humour. Additionally, one of his female fans, who is presently pregnant, participated in a lighthearted exchange.

The woman took to Twitter and expressed her intention to name her children Pathaan and Jawan. Shah Rukh Khan, the renowned actor, responded by wishing her well on her journey into parenthood but advised her to choose different names for her children. She wrote, “sir i am pregnant with twin babies..wish me luck i will name them pathaan and jawan.” While extending his warm wishes, the superstar promptly advised her to select more suitable names for her children. He replied, “All the best but please name them something better!!”

On the film front, SRK made his comeback on the big screens with Pathaan, which was released earlier this year. The Siddharth Anand directorial, backed by YRF, also featured Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. The film went on to break several records. He will be next seen in Jawan. Helmed by Atlee Kumar, the upcoming pan-India flick will be released on September 7. Besides Khan, it will star Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi. Along with this, he also has an upcoming Rajkumar Hirani directorial, titled Dunki, in his kitty. Taapsee Pannu will be seen playing the female lead in it.

On June 25, the actor celebrated the occasion of his debut film Deewana, co-starring Rishi Kapoor and Divya Bharti, completing 31 years.

On Sunday evening, Shah Rukh Khan took to Twitter to announce about hosting a Q&A session with his fans saying, “Wow just realised it’s 31 yrs to the day when Deewana hit the screens. It’s been quite a ride mostly a good one. Thanks all and we can do 31minutes of #AskSRK”. Excited fans started asking the superstar about many things including about his upcoming releases.

Kartik Aaryan Kiara Advani starrer Satyaprem Ki Katha gets UA certificate

Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani are all set to come together yet again after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 but this time the couple will be seen in a romantic avatar. Set against the backdrop of Gujarat, Satyaprem Ki Katha is all set to explore romance and love with a quintessential Bollywood setup. With the release date of the musical drama nearing, we now hear that the Central Board of Film Certification has passed the film with a UA certificate.

It is being said that Satyaprem Ki Katha received green signal from CBFC on June 13 as a film created for family viewing experience where kids are allowed to watch under parental guidance under UA certification. Furthermore, we hear that the film has the usual duration of 2 hours 26 minutes and 02 seconds, that is, 146.02 minutes to be precise.

Talking about the film, Kartik Aaryan had earlier called the film ‘special’ as he said, “Creative discussions and all take place because the film is extremely precious to us. I think in my entire career I haven’t ever been this involved in a film as much as I have been in Satyaprem Ki Katha because I really believe in the subject and I feel proud to be a part of Satyaprem Ki Katha. I think in my filmography maybe this is one film in which I have felt proud in every frame of the film, which I don’t know why. “

Kiara Advani too had recalled the time when she was approached for the film, “I would like to share this with everyone, Karan (Shrikant Sharma), who wrote this script. I believe this film actually came to me before Covid. I heard this story, and I thought it was so beautiful. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we couldn't proceed with it. Suddenly, after a couple of years, there was an announcement of a film starring Kartik and produced by Sajid (Nadiadwala) sir. At that time, I didn't know that it was the same script that I had read many years ago.”

Satyaprem Ki Katha is slated for release on June 29.

Kangana Ranaut starrer Emergency to release on THIS date

The first look of Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency sent waves across the country with her outstanding performance as India’s first female Prime Minister. Kangana Ranaut is back with yet another hard-hitting video unit announcing the release date of her directorial Emergency. The film is slated to hit the big screens on November 24, 2023. Talking about the film, Emergency is based on the 1975 Indian Emergency, the ensemble star cast also stars Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry and Milind Soman in pivotal roles. It was slated to release on October 20. However, to avoid a clash with Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon’s Ganapath, Kangana cancelled the release. The film is now scheduled to release on November 24, 2023.

Tiger Shroff changed to Sunny Shroff; Disha Patani reference retained in Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer Tiku Weds Sheru

Tiger Shroff, who completed 9 years last month as an actor, has worked with several reputed actors in his illustrious career. A male co-star with whom he has worked twice is Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Both appeared for the first time together in Sabbir Khan’s musical action entertainer, Munna Michael (2017). Later, they were seen in the actioner, Heropanti 2 (2022). Nawazuddin was seen as the antagonist in the Ahmed Khan-directorial. And now, it has come to light that Nawazuddin’s latest release, Tiku Weds Sheru, also has a Tiger Shroff connection.

In a scene in the first half, Sana (Khushi Bharadwaj), Tiku’s (Avneet Kaur) sister and Sheru’s (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), complains to Sheru that he doesn’t bring new clothes for her as he does for Tiku. To which, Sheru asks her who her favourite actor is. Sana mentions Sunny Shroff’s name. Sheru then answers that his designer is a woman named Swati Yogi and that he’ll get Sana’s clothes designed by her. When Sana asks Sheru if he’ll introduce him to Sunny Shroff, Sheru takes a dig at Disha Patani. He replies, “Nahin, nahin. 22nd ke baad. 22nd ke baad woh kaunsi Disha se aayega, woh Patani!”

Interestingly, if one observes closely, one can see that both Khushi Bharadwaj and Nawazuddin Siddiqui mention Tiger Shroff’s name instead of Sunny Shroff. However, it seems that as an afterthought, Tiger was replaced by Sunny. Moreover, the Disha Patani reference makes it clear that the makers were hinting at Tiger Shroff.

Tiku Weds Sheru was released yesterday on Amazon Prime Video, on June 23. It tells the story of Sheru, a junior artist and a pimp, who marries a naïve girl from Bhopal, Tiku. He lies to Tiku that he’s a reputed film financier. Meanwhile, Tiku hides from Sheru that she has married only to be in Mumbai so that she can act in movies and also to be close to her boyfriend, Binni (Rahoul). It is directed by Sai Kabir and produced by Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika Films.

The Mass Maharaja of Bollywood, Ajay Devgn, has been crowned the busiest actor of post-pandemic in the industry with multiple films under his kitty. According to sources close to the development, Devgn's next after Singham Again will be the sequel to Raid.

"Ajay Devgn and his friend, Kumar Mangat believe that much like Drishyam, even Raid has attained a cult status among the audience due to digital and satellite reruns. The duo has got director Rajkumar Gupta to develop Raid 2, and the filmmaker is researching and stitching together multiple real-life incidents in the script. Things are proceeding in the right direction as Devgn is happy with how the script is shaping up. Rajkumar Gupta has managed to find something that's bigger and more exciting than part one," a source told Bollywood Hungama. Raid 2 is expected to go on floors by summer of 2024 and will be a part of Ajay Devgn and Kumar Mangat's deal with Jio. For those unaware, Ajay Devgn and Kumar Mangat have signed a 3-film digital deal with Jio Cinemas with Black Magic, Raid 2, and Drishyam 3. Varun Dhawan-Janhvi Kapoor starrer Bawaal to release on Amazon Prime Video on July 27 2023

Last week, Bollywood Hungama was the first one to break the news that Varun Dhawan-Janhvi Kapoor starrer Bawaal will skip a release in cinemas and instead release directly on OTT, on Amazon Prime Video. As expected, the news spread like wildfire. And now Bollywood Hungama brings to you another exciting update regarding the film.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Bawaal will drop on Amazon Prime Video on Thursday, July 27. The makers and the OTT giant were toying with a couple of dates and then finalized July 27 as the release date. They feel that this will give them sufficient time to effectively market the film. The team at Amazon are quite confident that Bawaal will get them huge viewership due to the casting and the plot.”

Bawaal is directed by Nitesh Tiwari of Dangal (2016) and Chhichhore (2019) fame and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala’s Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. Earlier, the film was scheduled to be released in cinemas on October 6. On Monday, June 19, the makers and Amazon Prime Video dropped a poster which made it official that the film is indeed premiering directly on OTT. The poster also led to murmurs that it is a love story against the backdrop of World War 2.

Meanwhile, all eyes are now on the film’s trailer which is expected to be out in the first week of July, after the release of Sajid Nadiadwala’s theatrical film, Satyaprem Ki Katha, starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani.

As per recent reports, Bawaal will have a premiere at Eiffel Tower in Paris, France in mid-July. The reports claim that Paris has an important part to play in the film and hence, the decision was taken to host the premiere in the French capital. The report further stated that apart from the film’s team, the premiere will also be attended by film buffs and French delegates.

Saif Ali Khan confirms shooting an advertisement with Sara Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan and his daughter Sara Ali Khan were offered a few films together in the past. But Saif felt that was not the right time for them to come together.

But now the time seems right for the two to be seen together on screen, considering Sara has now gained some experience as an actor.

Saif and Sara shot for an advertisement earlier this week, and they enjoyed themselves thoroughly. Confirming the same, Saif said, “Yes, we shot for an ad together and I think we looked really good together.” On being prodded further Saif reveals, “It’s an ad for an insurance company.”

Adipurush receives green light: Nepal court clears the way for Prabhas-Kriti Sanon starrers screening

A single dialogue from the upcoming film Adipurush has ignited a heated controversy, resulting in the ban of all Hindi films in Nepal. The dialogue in question refers to Sita as "India's daughter," which has raised concerns over Nepal's sovereignty and sparked outrage among Nepali officials and citizens alike. However, the Nepal court has reversed the ban on the Prabhas-Kriti Sanon starrer.

For the unversed, Kathmandu Mayor Balendra Shah swiftly announced the ban, emphasizing the film's potential threat to Nepal's independence. In a defiant statement, Mayor Shah declared his willingness to face any consequences, firmly asserting that he will not permit the screening of Adipurush in Nepal.

Citing the dialogue as a matter of national importance, he believes it directly affects Nepal's sovereignty. However, the Patan High Court has issued a temporary order stating that films approved by the censor board should not be obstructed from screening.

On the other hand, Bhaskar Dhungana, President of the Nepal Motion Picture Association, informed the media that the petitioners are eagerly awaiting the court's written order. He expressed relief over the court's decision, announcing that all movies that have obtained permission from the censor board will now be screened without hindrance.

Directed by Om Raut and backed by T-Series, the Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer was released worldwide on June 16. The ensemble cast of teh film also features Saif Ali Khan, Devdatta Nage and Vatsal Sheth.

Suhana Khan buys 3 row houses worth Rs 12 crores in Alibag: Report

Suhana Khan, the daughter of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, has made headlines with her recent real estate investment. The star kid has purchased three-row houses near Alibaug for a whopping sum of Rs 12.91 crore. The properties are located in Thal Village, nestled between the picturesque Alibaug and Kihim Beach.

According to the agreement of sale document obtained from IndexTap.com, the combined carpet area of the three-row houses is 3,988 sq. ft. The first-row house boasts a carpet area of 1,750 sq. ft., while the second and third-row houses measure 420 sq. ft. and 1,771 sq. ft., respectively. Additionally, Suhana also acquired a cabin with a carpet area of 48 sq. ft. This expansive real estate spans across 1.5 acres and features coconut trees, lush plantations, a well, tube well, and water tanks.

The sale transaction was completed on June 1, with Suhana Khan paying Rs 77.46 lakh as stamp duty. This new acquisition supplements the Khan family's existing property in Alibaug, as Shah Rukh Khan already owns a luxurious estate known as Deja Vu Farms nearby.

Coming to the professional front, Suhana recently become the face of Maybelline and grabbed attention with her first press meet held in Mumbai in April this year. Colors’ show Suhaagan revolves around the riveting tale of Bindiya, carrying out all the household chores for her extended family who mistreat her and her sister Payal. The story of the two sisters is taking an exciting leap of ten years, bringing a whirlwind of changes to the characters’ journeys. Shah Rukh Khans Jawan stuntman praises the actors humility: He asked me how I am going to do that stunt and checked on the safety

Shah Rukh Khan will next star in Jawan, helmed by Atlee Kumar. Billed as an action entertainer, the movie arrives in theatres on September 7, 2023. While some glimpses have been leaked on social media, tales of the superstar’s gentleman behavior are taking over the internet. A stuntman Saddam on the sets of Jawan revealed what it was like to work with the actor.

As reported by Indian Express, a video is doing the rounds of social media where Saddam calls Shah Rukh Khan the ‘sweetest banda’. He shared in Hindi, “The heroes I work with are usually rough, who come and say I will do this and that. But he was not like that. He asked me how I am going to do that stunt, and checked on the safety. He was worried that I would get hurt and I briefed him about how it was safe.”

The stuntman said that SRK would initiate conversations to discuss stunts on the Jawan set. He, infact, checked on Saddam after the shot. “Tu thik hai? (Are you okay)” he asked. “Also, if the shot went wrong, he would immediately say it was his fault. I was amazed at what kind of a star he is. SRK is really different from anyone I have worked with,” Saddam added.

For the unversed, a source has earlier informed Bollywood Hungama about his decision to bring the film in September 2023, to get a clear run till the release of Salaar. “Shah Rukh Khan wants to come in a clear window and not be one of the many in the crowd. He is a lion by heart and wants things to be in his focus. He believes September will do justice to the release of Jawan," the source revealed.

After Manoj Muntashir now Adipurush director Om Raut also gets police protection

A few days ago, it came to light that Manoj Muntashir, the lyrics and screenplay writer of Adipurush, had requested police protection after receiving death threats. Bollywood Hungama has now learned that even director Om Raut has been provided security by the Mumbai Police as well.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Four constables and one armed cop are seen with Om Raut at his office. It is, however, not known if the director requested police protection or whether the police, themselves, provided protection due to the controversy and threats.” It was said that along with Manoj Muntashir, even Om Raut had also received death threats.

Adipurush, starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan and Devdatta G Nage, is based on the epic Ramayana. The period VFX-heavy film has been in the eye of controversy ever since it was released globally on June 16. The film’s dialogues were changed from Sunday after certain viewers raised objections. Effiges of Manoj Muntashir were burned in many parts of the country, as per reports. The protestors also demanded a ban on the film.

Meanwhile, as per a report in Free Press Journal, Dr. Raj Shekhawat, National President of Kshatriya Karni Sena reportedly said at a press conference in Madhya Pradesh, "We will kill the director, haath mein aaya toh koot denge. We are planning to form a team in Mumbai and tell them to get hold of weapons to find him and kill him."

Manoj Muntashir, however, maintained that the intention of the film was not to hurt sentiments. He told ANI, “Our aim was to present the true heroes of Sanatan to our younger generation. There is an objection to 5 dialogues and they will be changed. If people are not liking some parts, then it's our responsibility to fix them.”

Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor starrer Bawaal will become the first Indian movie to have its premiere at the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The movie, a love story by Sajid Nadiadwala’s production banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment in collaboration with Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and Nitesh Tiwari’s Earthsky Pictures, is set for direct-to-digital release on Prime Video.

As per a report in Pinkvilla, a source revealed, “Bawaal will be the first Indian Film to have its premiere at the Eiffel Tower. The premiere will take place at the exquisite Salle Gustave Eiffel, offering a panoramic view of the city of love as the backdrop. Apart from Varun, Janhvi, Sajid, and Nitesh, the premiere will be attended by movie enthusiasts and French delegates, making it one of the biggest premieres for an Indian film.”

“Bawaal has a symbolic reference to Paris. The makers have extensively shot some of the key portions in Paris, and the city acts like a character in this tale. The film is essentially a love story with references to World War 2 and the makers are ready to premiere the film in the city of love,” the source added.

Director Nitesh Tiwari recently said, “Shot across three Indian locations and five European countries, Bawaal has a captivating storyline, dramatic visuals and absolutely amazing chemistry between the lead talent Varun and Janhvi. I believe that the worldwide premiere on Prime Video will help us take Bawaal to audiences in India and across borders. Adipurush makers reduce ticket prices for Hindi audience starting from Rs 150

In a bid to attract more audiences and encourage family viewing, the makers of the highly anticipated film Adipurush starring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon have decided to reduce ticket prices. The film, which has been embroiled in controversy, will now offer affordable prices for the next two days, allowing mass audiences to enjoy the cinematic experience in Hindi with edited dialogues.

Starting from Rs. 150, viewers can indulge in the visual spectacle of Adipurush in 3D, with the option to purchase 3D glasses at applicable theatre prices. This move aims to make the film more accessible, particularly for families looking to enjoy the big screen experience together.

Despite receiving mixed reviews from both critics and audiences, Adipurush has managed to make a mark at the box office, raking in an impressive Rs. 395 crores within its first five days of release. The reduced ticket prices offer a further opportunity for moviegoers to witness the grandeur of the film and contribute to its success.

Directed by Om Raut and backed by Bhushan Kumar’s production banner, T-Series, Adipurush was released on June 16. Besides Prabhas and Kriti, the ensemble cast of the film features Saif Ali Khan, and Devdatta Nage.

In the face of relentless criticism, strong reactions, and controversy Adipurush manages puts up a brave face and fights its battle. Being the most trolled film, the intent of the makers was to exhibit the biggest battle of good over evil. Unfortunately, few groups had the agenda of pulling down the movie!

According to a source close to the production house, the storyline of Adipurush has appealed a mix of audience especially kids. Not only enjoying the film but many of them sung Jai Shri Ram in unison when it played during the film and also clapped and hooted when good triumphed over the evil! Not only entertaining, the main intent of the film was to bring awareness in colloquial manner that resonates with the youth.

With makers changing the controversial dialogues, Shiv Chanana, Senior Vice President T-Series says, "We are responding to the viewers in as sincere a manner as possible and that is why we have ensured the dialogues have been amended basis their feedback."

As for the film, Adipurush features Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan and Devdatta G Nage. The film has been in the news recently after the makers decided to modify a few dialogues after receiving heavy feedback from the audience. As per the sources in the exhibition sector, the revised version started playing in select cinemas from yesterday. From today, the new version is expected to be played across the country. Directed by Om Raut the film hit screens last week on Friday to a rather mixed response from the audience.

On World Yoga Day Subhash Ghai announces the release of Mukta Arts' first TV series Jaanaki in July

Having delivered some of Indian cinema's biggest blockbusters like Karz, Ram Lakhan, and Pardes, Subhash Ghai is now venturing into the realm of television. With Jaanaki, he is all set to explore a new territory. The script for the show has been penned by Jainesh Ezardar, Vandana Tiwari, Surabhi Rohini and Rekha Babbal. Rutuja Kathe serves as the creative director, whereas Jignesh Vaishnav and Dharmesh has directed the series. Rahul Puri is the producer, and Vishal Gandhi is the associate producer.

Jaanaki is said to be an enthralling tale of women empowerment that will be broadcast on Doordarshan next month. Expressing his enthusiasm about this new venture, Subhash Ghai shared, "I am thrilled to explore the golden world of television with Jaanaki. The recent turn of events provided me with the opportunity to delve into the intricacies of creating a television show. The success of Mukta Arts' web series 36 Farmhouse further ignited my curiosity to explore different mediums, ultimately leading to the creation of Jaanaki, which will be aired next month. Mukta Arts, the production house behind the show, is set to premiere it in July. Subhash Ghai is yet to announce the lead cast of his upcoming television show.

John Abraham and Sharvari commence shooting Nikkhil Advanis Vedaa

Zee Studios, Emmay Entertainment and JA Entertainment have announced their next film together titled Vedaa. It stars John Abraham, Sharvari and Abhishek Banerjee and is directed by Nikkhil Advani. The film went on floors in Rajasthan yesterday on June 20. The makers have said that the film promises “thrilling experience filled with high-octane sequences and gripping action.” They have also said that the movie will see John play a mentor who will guide and train Sharvari’s character.

Sharing his excitement at the film, John said in a statement, “I am looking forward to giving my all for this project. This riveting story will definitely leave an imprint in your mind as it did for me. I am honoured to play the part and excited for kickstarting this journey.”

Sharvari made her debut with Bunty Aur Babli 2 with Yash Raj Films in 2021. “Nikkhil sir is one of the most disruptive voices in Indian cinema and I feel lucky to be directed by him so early in my career,” she said. “I would like to thank him for trusting me with a titular role as Vedaa. It’s a privilege to work with John Abraham and I am sure I will get to learn a lot from him on this journey. I love the entire Emmay Entertainment team and I want to thank them for nurturing me creatively with this film. I’m super excited about filming Vedaa.”

The actor-director pair of John and Nikkhil is back with this film after the successful Batla House. The filmmaker said, “Post Batla House, John and I were wondering how best to solidly our collaboration. With Vedaa we have found that hard-hitting story that can be elevated to a wider and broader audience with some incredible action. Sharvari is possibly one of the most hard-working actors I have had the pleasure of working with. The way she has got into the skin of the character and has made it her own is so inspiring.”

Its a baby boy! Dipika Kakar Shoaib Ibrahim welcome their first child on June 21

Popular TV actress Dipika Kakar, who rose to fame with Sasural Simar Ka, has finally embraced motherhood. On June 21, Dipika and her actor-husband Shoaib Ibrahim welcomed a baby boy. Shoaib himself shared the good news on his verified social media handle.

On Wednesday morning, Shoaib took to the story section of his Instagram and shared a note. It read, “Alhamdulilla today 21st June 2023 early morning we are blessed with a baby boy. It’s a premature delivery nothing much to worry. Keep us in your prayers.” For the unversed, Dipika was in her third trimester and was due in July.

Having said that, it is worth mentioning here that a day before the arrival of their first child, the couple celebrated Shoaib’s 36th birthday. In fact, the latest post on Dipika’s IG handle is a post dedicated to Shoaib along with a heartfelt note.

In the photo, Dipika and Shoaib can be seen striking a romantic pose while holding a cake. Meanwhile, Dipika’s baby bump is also evident in the photo. The couple, who met on the sets of Sasural Simar Ka and fell in love, had announced their pregnancy earlier this year. In the announcement post, the couple had written, “Sharing this news with you all with our hearts full of Gratitude, Happiness, Excitement and Also nervousness / Humari life ka ye Sabse khoobsurat phase hai…Yessss We are Expecting Our First Child!! Shah Rukh Khan and Aryan Khan to record their statements against Sameer Wankhede in the drug trafficking case

The shocking news of Aryan Khan being arrested in a drug extortion case had led to a major uproar in the Indian media, followed by a massive backlash. While Aryan Khan received clean chit in the case, in May this year, however, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed a FIR against Sameer Wankhede, the officer in charge at Narcotics Control Bureau along with a few officials of the NCB who have been accused of bribery and extortion against Khan family. Latest reports suggest that the CBI will be summoning Shah Rukh Khan and Aryan Khan to record their statements pertaining to the extortion case.

In May this year, the CBI alleged that evidence was found against NCB officials, and has also confirmed about summoning the superstar and his son pertaining to the case saying, “We will soon record the statements of Aryan Khan, who was arrested by NCB, and Shah Rukh Khan, from whom Rs. 25 crore was demanded, by the accused Kiran Gosavi and Sanville D’Souza at the behest of Wankhede. Recording their statements is necessary to get to the bottom of the conspiracy,” one of the officials told Hindustan Times.

For the unversed, the son of one of India’s biggest superstars, Shah Rukh Khan was allegedly arrested for possession of drugs, further kept in custody where he was accused of being a dealer with international connections. While Jr. Khan received bail in the case, followed by a clean chit clearing his name of all charges, the officer in charge Wankhede is now facing allegations of extortion against Khan family as well as bribery charges, leading to an enquiry against him.

As per reports, CBI has also filed an FIR against former superintendent of police of NCB Vishwa Vijay Singh, intelligence officer Ashish Ranjan, and Gosavi and D’Souza in the extortion case. According to these reports, while the CBI has already kick started their investigation against these officers with an enquire report in order, they are currently awaiting the court order to conduct a more extensive and thorough investigation.

Akshay Kumar says box office numbers do bother him amid multiple flops: I have had many cycles of ups and downs in my life

Akshay Kumar has briefly commented about his array of failures at the box office in the past year. In 2022, the actor faced a string of flops including Bachchhan Paandey, Samrat Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan, and Ram Setu. Even this year’s Selfiee failed to make any waves at the box office. The actor has now admitted that box office numbers do bother him.

In a chat with Financial Express, Akshay was asked about box office numbers and if they bother him, he said, “Of course, they do.” He added, “We are made or we are broken because of the box office numbers. That’s what you call hits and flops. The audiences tell us when we are right and where we are going wrong, and all that is reflected in the box office numbers because if a film does not work, that means people didn’t come to see it, which in turn means that they didn’t connect to it. And it means that’s the time for you to change.”

He added, “I have had many cycles of ups and downs in my life. The one common thing is that when the going’s good there are all praises and when it’s not it’s more criticism than you can imagine. Yes, I am human, and good feels good, and bad feels bad, but I am also proud of the ability I have to move on extremely quickly. What keeps me going is the same will I had on the first day I started work, I love working! And no one can take that away from me! You just have to keep going on, there is no other way. There is a higher power that sees everything and it compounds and gives you back the results of the honest hard work you put in, that’s how I deal with it.”

On the work front, Akshay Kumar will be seen with Parineeti Chopra in The Great Indian Rescue, directed by Tinu Suresh Desai. The film will release on October 5. Sidharth Malhotra's Dhrama Productions' movie Yodha will now be releasing on October 27. The news has been shared by sources close to the development. The film is an action saga directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha.

Presented by Prime Video and Dharma Productions in association with Mentor Disciple Films, the movie also stars Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna.

Sharing what Yodha means to him, Sidharth had earlier said in a statement, “As an artist, you would want to work on scripts that bring out the best in you. This truly unveiled a newer version of me, which I am very thankful for. The amount of love I have received from audiences and fans is magical. I can't wait to showcase what Yodha has for them.”

Earlier this year, Raashii said that for her, Yodha has broken the myth that ‘outsiders’ don’t get to be a heroine in a Dharma Productions film. “[Initially] I thought only certain people got to be a Dharma heroine. I didn't think it was easy for people who come from outside to bag such films. So, the fact that I am in this film, opens doors for others. You don't necessarily have to be a part of a certain background to be a part of a Dharma film. Work so hard on your skill set that your talent cannot be dismissed,” she had said.

AICWA urges PM Modi to ban Adipurush alleging defamation of Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman

In a formal letter addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has expressed its demand for a ban on the screening of the movie Adipurush. The AICWA alleges that the film, based on the epic Ramayana, defames the revered figures of Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman, thus hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus and followers of Sanatan Dharma.

The letter states that Adipurush is a "complete disaster" that undermines the faith of devotees in Shri Ram and the Ramayana. The AICWA specifically points out the portrayal of Lord Ram and Ravan as video game characters and criticizes the dialogues that have caused offence among Indians both within the country and abroad.

While the AICWA does not demand any specific action against the actors, including Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan, it strongly emphasizes that they should not have been associated with a film that it deems "disgraceful" in the history of Indian cinema.

In light of these concerns, the AICWA calls upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene and take necessary measures to prevent the future screening of Adipurush in theaters and on OTT platforms. Additionally, the association urges the filing of a First Information Report (FIR) against director Om Raut, writer Manoj Muntasir Shukla, and the film's producers.

According to the AICWA, the sentiments of Hindus have been deeply hurt by the portrayal of Lord Ram and the associated characters. The association asserts the need for immediate action to safeguard the revered image of Bhagwan Shri Ram, Maa Sita, and the devoted Ramsevak Bhagwan Hanuman. Its primary objective is to preserve the sacredness and reverence associated with these divine figures.

The AICWA's letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi reflects its strong concerns about the alleged defamation and the potential impact on religious sentiments. It remains to be seen how the government will respond to the demands put forth by the association.
