Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt present Darlings; Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma, Roshan Mathew join the cast

Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment and Alia Bhatt's newly announced Eternal Sunshine Productions to present the upcoming film, Darlings. Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma, and Roshan Mathew join the cast.

It is a unique story of a quirky mother-daughter duo navigating through crazy circumstances as they try to find their place in the world. The dark comedy is set in Mumbai against the backdrop of a conservative lower-middle-class neighbourhood and traces the lives of these two women as they find courage and love in exceptional circumstances. The film comes with its own statutory warning – a reminder that offending women can be very dangerous for your health!

Darlings marks a first for many, the directorial debut of Jasmeet K Reen with a feature film and Alia Bhatt’s first as she turns producer with Eternal Sunshine Productions. Jasmeet, who has written many films earlier, speaks of her directorial debut, “With the brilliant Alia and Shefali portraying the mother-daughter duo, along with exceptionally talented Vijay (Varma) and Roshan (Mathew) we have a dream cast and the perfect ‘partners in crime’ if I can call them that. We couldn’t have asked for anything more and now I can’t wait to get on the floor!”

Written by Parveez Sheikh & Jasmeet, Darlings is being produced by Gauri Khan, Alia Bhatt and Gaurav Verma. It is a Red Chillies Entertainment and Eternal Sunshine presentation of a Red Chillies Entertainment production, the film goes on floors this month.

2 Years Of Sonchiriya: "Sushant Singh Rajput was a true blue gem of a person and a restless actor" - says Bhumi Pednekar

For Bhumi Pednekar, Abhishek Chaubey’s Sonchiriya will always be a project that taught her valuable lessons as an artiste! On the second release anniversary of the film, Bhumi says, “Sonchiriya will always be a special film in my filmography because it taught me a very valuable lesson. It told me to dream, to explore, and to take bigger risks as an artiste with every film. Abhishek Chaubey opened my eyes to what I could achieve if I trusted myself and pushed myself to the edge of the cliff. I thank him for his faith in me as a performer.”

Bhumi is humbled with the love and respect she got as a performer for Sonchiriya. She says, “A film like Sonchiriya is rare, it comes maybe once in a lifetime for an artiste and I’m fortunate that I got to do this project. Abhishek Chaubey’s vision with this film was so unique and original that it literally blew my mind. The love and respect that I have got from people across the world for this project is truly humbling.”

The actress says she is also thankful that she got to collaborate with an actor like the late Sushant Singh Rajput and also all the outstanding performers in Sonchiriya. “Also, I got to meet and work with a creative mind like Sushant Singh Rajput due to the film. He was a true blue gem of a person and a restless actor. I had the best time exchanging notes with him. Sonchiriya gave me the chance to work with a brilliant cast and people I admired deeply. It’s an experience I’ll deeply cherish more because of the collaboration I had with Sushant and Khushiya, the little girl who played Sonchiriya. Khushiya has become a part of my life forever.“

Bhumi says Sushant was a ‘rare mind’ in Bollywood. She says, “Sushant became a friend and someone I admired very fast. He was a true blue gem of a person and an actor with a restless mind. We really had the best time on set. His rare mind with brilliant ideas kept me very intrigued through our Sonchiriya experience.”

Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra to have Dusshera 2022 release

It is known that filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga is set for his next with Ranbir Kapoor. The film also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Parineeti Chopra. After the stupendous success of Kabir Singh, the filmmaker is gearing up for Animal.  The film now has a release date. Animal will have a Dusshera 2022 release, October 5.

Animal is said to be a rustic, gangster drama. This is a genre that Ranbir has hardly explored and is always ready to expand his horizons. Bobby Deol is reportedly playing the antagonist.  The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Pranay Reddy Vanga, Murad Khetani & Krishan Kumar.

Before Animal, Ranbir Kapoor will wrap up Luv Ranjan’s next, and Brahmastra. The shooting of Animal will reportedly commence in May 2021.

No plans to introduce Taimur’s baby brother to the media; to be kept completely out of the public eye

There are overzealous reports in the media claiming that Saif Ali Khan and wife Kareena Kapoor Khan would introduce their new baby boy to the media through a virtual platform.

However a very close friend of Kareena who is also a friend of Saif shoots down this news report. “This is just desktop conjecture. Media hounds know that anything on Taimur’s brother will sell. So they make up harmless stories about Saif and Kareena and their baby, when in fact they’ve decided to keep Son No 2 completely out of the public eye.

“You won’t see Taimur’s sibling in public. In fact when he’s a little older he won’t be exposed to the public glare the way Taimur was. I think Kareena and Saif have learnt their lesson. The more you give into media hunger for your children’s pictures the more they haunt you. So yeah, Baby No 2 won’t be seen playing/painting/whatever,” reveals the friend.

Swara Bhasker, Shikha Talsania, Meher Vij and Pooja Chopra to star in Jahaan Chaar Yaar

If two's better than one, with four, the fun's just begun! Swara Bhasker, Shikha Talsania, Meher Vij and Pooja Chopra are set to spark magic on the big screen with their upcoming project Jahaan Chaar Yaar. The film follows the story of four friends, trapped in a rut of hapless monotony. With grown children and distant husbands, their middle-class lives have nothing to look forward to, until a getaway to Goa turns into a thrilling roller coaster they never bargained for. Their journey from demure housewives to daring dames forms the crux of the movie.

Producer Vinod Bachchan says, “As cinemas open their doors again, it is a matter of time till audiences open their hearts again; we just need to welcome them back with a rocking film! Jahaan Chaar Yaar is an empowering tale of friendship filled with engaging twists and turns. I am sure it will reignite the glory of big-screen entertainment.”

The maker also adds, “I am overjoyed to be crafting such a fresh story with a solid script! Our team can’t wait to make this wonderful film”.

The movie also marks the directorial debut of famed writer Kamal Pandey. Having penned much-loved films like Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns, Shagird, and Shakthi : The Power (dialogue), Mr. Pandey now helms the director’s hat with Jahaan Chaar Yaar.

Scheduled to be shot in rustic locales of Uttar Pradesh as well as the ravishing beaches of Goa, Jahaan Chaar Yaar seems like a rollicking adventure!

Jahaan Chaar Yaar, a Soundrya Productions film, produced by Vinod Bachchan, directed by Kamal Pandey, will go on floors from the 5th of March.

The 78th annual Golden Globe Awards took place on Sunday night as Amy Poehler and Tina Fey returned as hosts virtually in New York and Los Angeles. Actress Jane Fonda received the Cecil B. DeMille Award, whereas Norman Lear was honoured with the Carol Burnett Award. Netflix's The Crown took home the majority of awards including Best Television Series - Drama, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, and more. Pop TV's Schitt's Creek received all the love. Minari won Best Foreign Film. Chadwick Boseman won Best Actor for Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, posthumously as his wife Taylor Simone Ledward accepted the award.

Vicky Kaushal and Manushi Chhillar's next with Yash Raj Films gets a title

Vicky Kaushal is one busy man. He is currently wrapping work on Vijay Krishna Acharya's next, and will soon move on to Shashank Khaitan's Mr. Lele and then Aditya Dhar's Ashwatthama later. His next with Victor is actually a YRF film, that also stars Manushi Chillar in the lead.

The beauty queen, who will make her debut opposite Akshay Kumar in Prithviraj, will be romancing Vicky in the YRF production. While the shoot is almost done, the untitled film seems to have found a tentative title too. A source tells Bollywood Hungama, "They are now calling Vicky and Manushi's film The Great Indian Family or TGIF. It's a mad cap comedy of errors and Vicky's first comedy film. The movie revolves around a dysfunctional family and hence the title. It's also called the same because TGIF is also a very millennial term. But it's a tentative title. Aditya Chopra could also ask for a change on the same."

While the film is ready, YRF is pretty sure and certain that TGIF won't release this year. "Prithviraj releases on Diwali this year and the makers are clear that this has to be Manushi's debut project because it's a grand period drama that will position her really well. TGIF will release only around early 2022."

It's been a week full of blessings for Alia Bhatt. After receiving a tremendous response for the Gangubai Kathiawadi teaser, the actress is taking the next step in her career. She has announced her production house, Eternal Sunshine Productions.

Irrfan Khan's son Babil Khan left speechless after receiving a message from The Namesake star Kal Penn

Irrfan Khan’s son Babil Khan, who has been quite active on Instagram sharing memories of his father, revealed that he was left speechless after receiving a message from Irrfan Khan's The Namesake co-star Kal Penn.

Babil Khan took to Instagram on Saturday to share a screenshot of a direct message he received from Kal Penn as the latter spoke about working with Irfan Khan. “Babil, I’m so moved that you reached out and it means so much to me to hear that story. Thank you. The Namesake is the project I’m most proud of, the one that brought me the greatest artistic happiness – and getting to work with and know your father was such a big part of that. (I think I met you and your brother in Calcutta when we were filming).”

“I’ve thought of you two and your mom a lot this past year and wasn’t sure how to get in touch to share my love and gratitude. It really means so much to me that you reached you. Thank you! Let me know if you’re ever in New York post-pandemic,” Penn wrote talking about how Irrfan's death and hoping he meets Babil in New York.

Overwhelmed with the message, Babil shared the screenshot on his Instagram story and captioned it, “What is happening? How to write a reply when you’re speechless?”

Babil Khan is currently studying in a film school. Irrfan Khan passed away in April 2020 after a prolonged battle with cancer.

Parineeti Chopra is gearing up for not one but three releases this year. The actress' psychological murder mystery premiered on Netflix on February 26. Now, she has two releases in the month of March starting with Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar followed by Saina Nehwal's biopic titled Saina, helmed by Amole Gupte.

Answering some fan questions during a chat with Bollywood Hungama, Parineeti Chopra said, "That was the most immersive process I've ever been a part of. You can't make up anything since you are playing real characters, you have to do everything authentically. The way I hold a racket, the way I play a particular shot - I could play it in my style but that's not allowed because you have to play like the other entity. That is why I spent so much time with Saina herself, tried to emulate her, made videos of her. I used to watch her matches, read everything, watch her interviews. I used to see how she talks and I tried to emulate that in the film."

Speaking of the release of the film, she added, "Release [of the film], we don't know yet. I am sure we will announce it soon."

Though she did not confirm the date, reports state that Saina is set to release on March 26.

Amitabh Bachchan undergoes laser eye surgery, to be back home on Monday

A day ago, megastar Amitabh Bachchan hinted he is undergoing surgery which left the netizens worried. Relax, nothing to worry about. Mr. Bachchan’s corrective surgery is done. And he will be back home tomorrow.

Reveals a close friend, “It was nothing. Just laser eye surgery for the removal of a cataract. He was in and out of OT in no time at all. He will be home in the next 24 hours.”

Mr. Bachchan is no stranger to medical conditions. Some of it has been borderline life-threatening. Cataract surgery is, in the words of a family member, a child’s play for him.

Yo Yo Honey Singh is all set to get you dancing with Mumbai Saga's first song 'Shor Machega'

While the trailer of the gangster drama Mumbai Saga is making the right noise amongst the audiences, the makers of this John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi starrer have decided to drop the upbeat anthem of the year 'Shor Machega'.  This number is composed, sung, and written by the rap star with his protégé Hommie Dilliwala, for two days in Mumbai last year with John and Emraan.

Talking about the song, singer-composer, Honey Singh shares, "This has been one of my best compositions and I'm excited to collaborate with Hommie for this song. We kept the theme of the movie as the essence of our music and wanted to give audiences a song that is catchy and groovy. Thanks to Bhushan Kumar and Sanjay Gupta who understood the vision of the song and made it into a great video. It was a pleasure sharing the screen with John and Emraan. Rajeev Surti choreographed some cool moves & I am looking forward to know how everyone likes it.".

Bhushan Kumar says, “We have a long-standing equation with Yo Yo Honey Singh and I wanted a song that summarises the theme of the film. Out of the few songs Honey made me heard, this song I loved the most. I am glad Sanjay also liked it. The song is catchy and we’re here, releasing the song today.”

Sanjay Gupta, who has helmed the gangster drama, says, “I was in Khandala when I heard it for the first time; I played it on full volume. The song blew my mind. It was amazing and just what I was looking for. Yo Yo Honey Singh is one artiste everyone enjoys collaborating with because he has that vibe. Also, Bhushan should be credited here for picking this track and sharing it with me.”

Amitabh Bachchan hints at getting surgery for medical condition

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who is busy with the shooting of MayDay, maybe undergoing surgery soon for a medical condition. The actor hinted on his blog about the surgery.

Amitabh Bachchan took to his blog on Saturday night and simply wrote, "Medical condition .. surgery .. can’t write."

Back in 2020, Amitabh Bachchan had tested positive for COVID-19 along with son Abhishek Bachchan, daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and granddaughter Aaradhya. All of them recovered in few weeks.

Taapsee Pannu reunites with Thappad co-star Pavail Gulati for Dobaaraa; says this is a chance to mend his mistake

Taapsee Pannu is currently shooting for Anurag Kashyap's next titled Dobaaraa. For the film, not only is she collaborating with the filmmaker for the second time, but also several other members of the team.

On Sunday, she posted a picture with her Thappad co-star Pavail Gulati with whom she will be sharing screen space once again in Dobaaraa.

Thappad was released exactly a year ago on this day. Taapsee and Pavail played husband and wife in the film. Announcing their reunion, Taapsee took to her Instagram handle and wrote, "My last of the #DobaaraaSeries. Coz some collaborations deserve to be repeated. Since this man had some u finished business in Thappad so this is a chance to mend his mistake. @pavailgulati

In Dobaaraa, Taapsee plays a character caught in a time-travel situation. No time-travel film has been done in Hindi. Years ago in the early 1990s Shekhar Kapur started Time Machine with Aamir Khan, Rekha, Naseeruddin Shah and Raveena Tandon. But the film never got completed.

Dobaaraa is produced under Ekta Kapoor’s Cult Movies along with Sunir Khetarpal’s Athena.

As Kartik Aaryan resumed his shoot for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in Manali, the heartthrob was in for a pleasant surprise. The actor received the most unexpected surprise from his fans cum well-wishers in the land of hills, Manali. When the news was out that Aaryan is in the city and shooting in the whites of Manali, a group of local natives came to the shoot location to bless and honour their favourite star.

Just prior to the commencement of the shoot, the natives flocked with the 'Pahadi' cap and shawl to welcome the actor. They also conducted a small pooja on the sets to mark the auspicious beginning of the shoot and blessed Kartik for the success of his films and career.  An utterly blissful sight to witness the fans pour their heart out for their favourite actor in such overwhelming manner. Kartik clicked pictures with the natives and thanked them for their heartwarming gesture.

Rana Daggubati, Pulkit Samrat starrer Haathi Mere Saathi trailer to release on March 4

Earlier this year, Rana Daggubati officially announced the release date of his upcoming multilingual film titled Haathi Mere Saathi in Hindi. The film which is called Haathi Mere Saathi in Hindi will be released in Tamil as Kaadan and as Aranya in Telugu. Haathi Mere Saathi also stars Pulkit Samrat. The makers have now announced that the trailer of the film will be released on March 4.

The trailer of Haathi Mere Saathi will be released on March 4, while the trailer of Aranya and Kaadan will be released on World Wildlife Day- March 3.

Produced by Eros International, the film is directed by Prabhu Solomon. The film also stars Shriya Pilgaonkar and Zoya Hussain. Pulkit Samrat's character is played by Vishnu Vishal in the Tamil and Telugu version.

Sara Ali Khan and Inaaya Kemmu’s latest pictures is all about sisterhood

Bollywood star Sara Ali Khan shares a close bond with her siblings including cousin Inaaya, who is the daughter of Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Kemmu. Recently, Sara shared a couple of adorable pictures with her little sister in which the two are all smiles.

In the picture, the girls look adorable with the two seen hugging each other . Sara is seen in an olive green off shoulder attire. Inaaya, on the other hand, looked pretty in a frock.

Sara had visited Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan's residence two days back to meet the new member of the family. Post this, she flew to Rajasthan with her mother Amrita Singh to visit the Ajmer Sharif Dargah.

On the work front, Sara Ali Khan will next be seen in the film Atrangi Re which is scheduled to be released on August 6. Directed by Aanand L Rai, the film also stars Akshay Kumar and Dhanush.

Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi thriller with Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan to go on floors around June-July

Telugu film director Nag Ashwin is best known for his National Award winning film Mahanati that starred Keerthy Suresh, Dulquer Salmaan, Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Akkineni. Now, the filmmaker is getting ready for his next big pan-India project which will star Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone. The film was announced last year and currently Nag is working on the pre-production of the film.

The project, like many others, got delayed due to the pandemic. However, talking to a tabloid, Nag Ashwin said that he has been fine tuning the script and logistics. He also had his round of meetings with all three leads separately. He said that pre-production has been going on for a long time and that they will take the film on floors in June-July.

Ashwin will once again be collaborating with Spanish cinematographer Dani Sanchez-Lopez and composer Mickey J Meyer after Mahanati for the upcoming film. Veteran filmmaker Singeetam Srinivasa Rao has been brought on board as a mentor for this magnum opusThe film will be a sci-fi thriller and talking about it Ashwin said that he is partial to the genre as he has grown up watching these films. He also said that he is fascinated by mythologies and likes stories that involve magic and illusion.

The film will be released in 2022.

Netizens find a doppelganger of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Pakistan’s beauty blogger Aamna Imran

Netizens have once again found a doppelganger of Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Earlier, in 2005 during the release of the film Lucky: No Time For Love, the lead actress Sneha Ullal was in the news for her striking resemblance to the former Miss World. This time netizens have discovered a doppelganger living in the neighbouring country.

Pakistani beauty blogger Aamna Imran, of late, has been noticed by netizens for her resemblance to Aishwarya Rai. While in some of her pictures, Aamna seems to be recreating the looks of Aishwarya, she doesn't have to work hard on them as she looks similar to the actress.

Fidaai stars Elli AvrRam and Salman Yusuf Khan, directed by Saurabh Prajapati, sung and composed by Rahul Jain. The song was released on 25th February.

Irrfan Khan’s son Babil Khan called 'a girl' for using a face mask; he replies in a classy way

Late Irrfan Khan's older son Babil Khan is quite active on social media and never shies away from expressing himself. Babil has received his share of trolling for placing his unabashed self on social media. Recently, he was trolled and mocked at by certain people for having used a face mask.

After the trolling, including some where he was addressed to as a girl, Babil shared another post hitting back at the trolls. He shared two videos- one in which he applies the face mask and another one in which he shows his flawless skin. Can you believe some people STILL go, “Are you a girl?” when I apply face masks or make-up before going out?” he wrote along with the post.

"I never looked back after Dum Laga Ke Haisha" - says Ayushmann Khurrana, who credits the film as the watershed moment of his career

Ayushmann Khurrana is now called the ‘poster boy of content cinema in India’. He credits the 2015 sleeper hit Dum Laga Ke Haisha (DLKH) for triggering his journey to stardom with his unique brand of disruptive, clutter-breaking cinema.

The versatile actor, who has delivered eight back-to-back hits on screen, says, “Dum Laga Ke Haisha will always be one of the most memorable films of my career due to various reasons. It bolstered my belief that I was on the right path of selecting films that spark a conversation.”

He adds, “Vicky Donor and then Dum Laga Ke Haisha's success told me that audiences wanted to have a different experience in the theatre and that, their taste was changing.
