Kajol unveils the teaser of Tribhanga; to release on Netflix on this date

Today morning, Kajol took to her social media handles to unveil an intriguing teaser of Tribhanga, her next film. The film will be released on January 15 only on Netflix.

The 20-second teaser of the film shows an array of emotions that Kajol's character goes through. The actress is seen as an Odissi dancer in the film. The film also stars Mithila Palkar and Tanvi Azmi in pivotal roles. Sharing the teaser, Kajol wrote, "Tribhanga, matlab, tedhi, medhi, crazy, but sexy. #Tribhanga, premieres 15 January, only on Netflix.”

Renuka Shahane who has directed the film, took to Twitter to share the video and thanked all three actresses for putting their soul into the film. "Dear Kajol,Tanvi, Mithila. Or should I say dear Anu, Nayan,Masha,to whom you've given your flesh, blood, vulnerability, strength, tears & laughter, making them more than I had imagined. A big thank you @itsKajolD @tanviazmi @mipalkar the heart, core & soul of Tribhanga.”

Tribhanga is a dysfunctional family drama that stars Kajol in the lead role. Mithila Palkar, Tanvi Azmi, and Kunaal Roy Kapoor will be seen in pivotal roles in the film. The film is directed and written by veteran actress Renuka Shahane. Ajay Devgn Films is the producer along with Bannijay Asia and Alchemy Productions.

A drama set in Mumbai, Tribhanga weaves a complex tale that goes back and forth through three generations of the same family, from the late 1980s to the modern-day. The heart-warming storyline looks at the importance of family in everyday lives.

From medical expenses to employment to funding education, the actor has done it all in the past few months. Amidst this, several times questions of the actor joining politics has been raised. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Sonu Sood spoke about his political ambition.

It’s not new for actors to join active politics. In the past, several A-list actors have entered politics and have been successful as well. So, when we asked Sonu Sood if he would like to be a part of politics, the actor said, “As an actor, I still have a long way to go. The dreams with which I came, those are yet incomplete. I feel it's necessary to fulfil that first. There is no particular time to enter into politics, there is no fixed period for it. Can join after 5 years or 10 years. I got offers 10 years back, I still get offers. But, I am not interested.”

“I think I should do things which I am an expert at and can do justice. If I am given a responsible position and I am unable to go to villages and towns to help people then what is the point. So, when I can become a part of them and live with them and serve them, then I will think about it. For now, as an actor there is a lot that needs to be done, a lot has to be achieved, there is time for the rest,” he added.

Revealing the title of the film, T-Series shared the audio teaser that has only raised the excitement around the film. Family Man goes international, to be dubbed into 10 international languages

If fans of Raj-DK’s The Family Man are wondering why they’ve to wait until so long—February 12 is the release date-- for Season 2, there is a reason for the delayed season.

“One is of course is Covid, that villain of every show in 2020,” informs a source close to the project. “But there is a bigger reason why The Family Man 2 was delayed. It’s because The Family Man 2 will be dubbed into various foreign languages by Amazon and released simultaneously across the globe, along with the original Hindi version.”

This is a marketing strategy Amazon adapted after seeing the response to the first season of The Family Man. “The Family Man in Hindi was received well all across the globe even in Hindi. To widen its reach, Amazon has now decided to dub Season 2 globally,” says my impeccable source.

The directorial duo Raj and DK have a reputation of doing the unexpected, whether is India’s first zombie film (Go Goan Gone) or a game-changing comic chudail film Stree which the duo wrote to super-success. In The Family Man they are on much firmer ground. The idea of a dull white-collar office-goer moonlighting as an undercover agent is not new. Arnold Schwarzenegger did it in James Cameron’s True Lies 25 years ago.

But it’s refreshing to meet a screen hero many sizes smaller than the larger-than-life heroes we’ve been watching all this year. Manoj Bajpai specializes in playing a cornered Everyman with a dark secret. It’s even more refreshing for the hero’s friend played by the very talented Sharib Hashmi, to get some of the best lines.

Since the time Vikas Gupta came out of the closet as a bisexual on his social media, he mentioned that his parents had disowned him for his sexual orientation and has mentioned it on Bigg Boss 14 as well. The producer is on the show as a challenger along with 5 other contestants, out of them, Kashmera Shah has been evicted so far. While Vikas’ mother did not say anything initially, she has finally decided to break her silence on the matter and called Vikas’ allegations a hoax.

Taking to her social media, Sharda Gupta wrote, “To think that we actually distanced our own (son) for his sexual orientation is equal to making a derogatory statement about my family. Yes, my son and I are not on great terms but that has nothing to do with his orientation. We had cut off ties with him much before he decided to come out in public, and we knew and have always loved him and accepted him the way he is. So the news about us distancing him cause of his choices is a complete hoax fabricated to one’s convenience. But sometimes, when you give too much love, you risk to be taken for granted.”

Elaborating further, she wrote, “Unfortunately we distanced ourselves from him but despite that, we maintained a silence because unlike him, we didn’t want to paint a bad picture of him in the media. This matter would have never reached this far had my son not decided to cast aspersions against us. We had decided to give him due respect, but he couldn’t allow us our peace, which as a family, is our defeat. This would be my first and last statement on the same as I don’t intend to carry on with this blame game and I would request everyone to understand and give us the respect and privacy we deserve. Thank you.”

Yoodlee Films to make a biopic on late music composer Datta Naik titled N Datta: The Untold Story

Late music composer Datta Naik's life will be narrated on screen by Yoodlee Films. The makers announced the film N Datta: The Untold Story on Wednesday. On Naik's death anniversary on December 30, his son Roop Naik collaborated with Yoodlee Films, the film division of Saregama India Limited to fill in the gaps of the story.

N Dutta, also known as Datta Naik was born in 1927 and began his career by assisting late legendary music director SD Burman. Naik got his big break in Hindi cinema in 1955 with Raj Khosla-directed Milap. Some of his popular tracks include, 'Yeh Baharaon Ka Sama', 'Maine Chand Aur Sitaron Ki Tamanna Ki Thi', ‘Pyaar Ka Jahaan Ho’, 'Tu Hindu Banega Na Musalman Banega', among others.

“The film will narrate why my father’s life was full of extreme tragedy and triumph, why a musical genius had to die in anonymity, how a heart-attack at the age of 32 blighted his success, his bond with Sahir saab, his tumultuous equations with producers and directors, his generosity, personal life, his inability to compromise and a lot more,” Roop Naik said in a statement.

In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Sonu Sood recalls the time he was addressed as a villain on sets and how tables have turned now.

Recalling the time he was called a villain on set for the first time he said, "I still remember the day I was shooting for my first South film with Mahesh Babu. The action director of the film was Peter Hein. There was a scene and he asked to call the hero and I was thinking that even I came here to become a hero. Then he said let's take the villain’s shot and I did not like that at all. I was playing the villain, but why am I being addressed like that. Then I realised that it is acting and both the hero and villain are equally important and then going forward I played both positive and negative characters. But when I started shooting now, and that roles have changed, I realised that people's perspective of you keeps changing.”

Sonu Sood made his acting debut with the 1999 Tamil films like Kallazhagar and Nenjinile. He was then introduced as an antagonist in the Telugu film Hands Up! in 2000. He then began starring in Hindi films, with Shaheed-E-Azam, as Bhagat Singh in 2002.

Aanand L Rai tests positive for COVID-19

Aanand L Rai, who has recently wrapped up the shooting for his upcoming film, Atrangi Re, along with Sara Ali Khan, Dhanush, and Akshay Kumar. The trio had been sharing pictures and videos from the sets and have left the fans excited for their first collaboration. However, shooting in these COVID-19 times is certainly a huge task and a lot of people so far have been affected by it. The latest addition to the list in Aanand L Rai, who took to his social media to announce the news.

He wrote, “I have tested covid positive today. Just wanted to inform everyone that I don’t feel any symptoms & I feel fine. I’m quarantining as instructed by authorities. Anyone who has come in contact with me recently is advised to quarantine & follow d govt protocols. Thank you for support”. The director had also attended the Atrangi Re wrap up party a couple of days ago and the people around him have been advised to stay quarantined.

1. Emraan Hashmi weds Sunny Leone and has a 20-year-old son?
According to Kundan Kumar, a 20-year-old Bihar lad, his parents are none other than Emraan Hashmi and Sunny Leone! That’s what was mentioned on his admit card from Dhanraj Mahto Degree College. Its screenshot went viral, not surprisingly. The flummoxed authorities promised action. However, what added to the fun was that Emraan Hashmi reacted to this piece of news by clarifying, “I swear he ain’t mine.” Sunny Leone, meanwhile, praised the guy and wrote, “This kids awsome !!!!! Way to dream big :)))))))) XO hahahaha”

2. Riteish Deshmukh, Lord Hanuman & Pakistani spy get Rs. 6000 under PM KISAN?
The central government has started a PM-KISAN cash scheme wherein a farmer is eligible for an income support of Rs. 6000 per year. Sadly, the fraudsters usurped money through this scheme but in an innovative way. They used fake Aadhar cards of actor Riteish Deshmukh, arrested Pakistani spy Mehboob Akhtar and believe it or not, even Lord Hanuman. The identities of these three were used to siphon off Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) instalments of Rs. 2,000, 4,000 and 6,000 respectively.

3. Times Now misinterprets Rhea Chakraborty’s ‘Imma bounce’ message
This happened at a time when certain news channels were just waiting for any excuse or opportunity to damage Rhea Chakraborty’s reputation. But this quest made Times Now news channel a laughing stock. Rhea’s chats had leaked and while accessing these WhatsApp messages, they came across a message sent by Rhea to her manager Jaya Saha. The text she sent was ‘Imma bounce’ which simply means ‘I am leaving’. However, Times Now interpreted it as Rhea Chakraborty referring to a bounced cheque. The channel used this assumption to further the belief that Rhea was in financial trouble and that’s the reason why she stole money from Sushant Singh Rajput’s money. Hence, Times Now aired this ‘Imma bounce’ fake news on their channel and the video went viral in no time.

4. Akshay Kumar accused of stealing Sushant Singh Rajput’s ‘game’
Many fake conspiracy theories were put up by netizens related to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. In September, Bengaluru-based nCore Games announced that they will launch a multiplayer action game called FAU-G, under the mentorship of Akshay Kumar. Suddenly, a narrative went viral that Akshay Kumar stole this game from Sushant’s computer just days before his death. There was no proof or evidence to this baseless accusation and yet, it spread like wildfire. nCore Games had to issue a statement to stop these rumours. It didn’t help much and two weeks later, the Bombay City Civil Court had to intervene!

5. Did Akshay Kumar & Shah Rukh Khan watch Sushant’s ‘murder’ live?
Meanwhile, another bizarre theory floated was Akshay Kumar not just stole data from Sushant’s PC, but he also saw live telecast of his ‘murder’ on dark web! Not just him, even Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan joined in, and so did the Thackerays. The one who spread this lie was advocate Vibhor Anand, who got arrested for cooking up many such stories without proof.

6. Spread lies and earn Rs. 15 lakhs
A YouTuber Rashid Siddiqui, who spread many lies about the death of Sushant Singh Rajput and Shiv Sena, got into a legal trouble earlier this year. When the police began investigations, they found out that believe it not, this chap earned a humongous Rs. 15 lakh in four months by sharing fake stories about the actor’s death. In May, a month before Sushant died, his earnings were a meagre $4 (Rs. 296). In September, it jumped to a staggering $8775 (Rs. 6,50, 898)!

7. MLA asks for Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli’s divorce
A BJP MLA, Nand Kishor Gurjar, was so angry with his morphed picture being used in the cult web series Paatal Lok that he not just filed an FIR but also advised cricketer Virat Kohli to divorce actress Anushka Sharma, who was also the show’s producer!

8. Digitally-created image viral as Shah Rukh Khan’s Kashmiri lookalike
Earlier this month, a picture went viral with the claim that a lookalike of Shah Rukh Khan has been discovered in Kashmir. But it soon turned out that it was a digitally created image of the superstar and that it was done using a mobile application called FaceApp. Yet, it went viral and even Jammu & Kashmir Youth Congress member Aabid Mir Magami fell for it. He deleted it, but not before it was retweeted more than 500 times!

1. Ranveer Singh: Technically he was not entirely absent from the screen in 2020. He made a brief appearance in Ghoomketu. That apart, Ranveer Singh went missing this year. 3. Aamir Khan: Even by Mr Khan’s picky standards this has got to be the longest gap between releases. Aamir’s last release was the disastrous Thugs Of Hindostan in 2018. Lal Singh Chadha, the desi remake of the Tom Hanks classic Forrest Gump was to release in December 2019. Aamir won’t release his film on the digital platform.

4. Shah Rukh Khan: No release in 2020, none in 2021. Has not officially announced any project after Zero in December 2018. Shah Rukh will be off-screen for at least three years.

5. Katrina Kaif: We saw her was as the sultry Surraiya Jaan in Thugs of Hindostan.Katrina is looking better than ever before and pining to prove her prowess as an actress. Her kajal-smudged act in Zero won her recognition, as expected. In India we always reward celluloid hysteria. Katrina is ready to strike with Sooryavansham. While the first is an ambitious sprawling sci-fi epic featuring Ranbir with Amitabh Bachchan and, ahem, Alia Bhatt for the first time, Shamshera is a dacoit drama in the grand tradition of the classic dacoit dramas like Mujhe Jeene Do and Mera Gaon Mera Desh.Both require an inordinate number of days from Ranbir . But now it seems Brahmastra requires even more time, thereby eating into the dates that were allotted to Shamshera.

Aditya Narayan reveals that his pajamas tore during the varmala ceremony at his wedding

Aditya Narayan recently tied the knot to his long-time girlfriend Shweta Agarwal and the wedding ceremony looked no less than that from a fairytale. The singer-host and his family had ensured to abide by the regulations of COVID-19 laid down by the government. While the ceremony was quite fancy, Aditya Narayan recalled an embarrassing memory from the day.

During the varmala ceremony, when Aditya’s friends picking him up, his pajamas tore and the singer was way too embarrassed. He had even tried on his makeup artist’s pajamas but they didn’t fit. Luckily for him, his friend Chinku’s pajamas fit him perfectly and he went on to complete the rituals in his pants.

Aditya said that this is the most embarrassing memory of his life so far.

Rhea Chakraborty to make a comeback in 2021 with film directed by Rumi Jaffrey

The lately beleaguered Rhea Chakraborty, hounded by the media in the Sushant Singh Rajput case, is all set to make a comeback in 2021.

Writer- director Rumi Jaffrey who was a close friend of Sushant and Rhea says Rhea is recuperating. “It has been a traumatic year for her. Of course the year was bad for everyone. But in her case it a trauma on another level. Can you imagine any girl from a well-to-do middleclass family spending a month in jail? It has crushed her morale completely.” Rumi says adding, “Rhea will return to her work early next year.”

Rumi met Rhea and assured her that she would be welcomed in the film industry with open arms. “I met her recently. She was withdrawn and quiet. Didn’t speak much. Can’t blame her after what she has gone through. Let the heat and dust settle down. I’m sure Rhea will have a lot to say.”

It is Hrithik vs Hrithik in Krrish 4; Hrithik Roshan to play both superhero and supervillain

Hrithik Roshan might not have announced any new movie after the super successful WAR but everyone knows that daddy Rakesh Roshan has been carefully putting together the next part of his pet project Krrish. While we earlier informed you that Krrish 4 will have a superheroine too, joining Hrithik's superhero avatar, we must tell you now that it will feature Duggu in a triple role and not a quadruple role.

Yes, you heard it right. Krrish 4 will be an out and out Hrithik show all the way. While the previous two parts had Hrithik playing double roles - that of Krrish and Rohit, the fourth instalment will bring back Jaadu and Rohit from the dead. As for the third role, a source tells us, "Hrithik will not only play the main hero but also the main villain in Krrish 4. The story has been conceptualised in such a way that both the superhero and the supervillain's role has been modelled on the superstar. It's Hrithik vs Hrithik in the finale."

Previously too, Rajinikanth's Robot 2.0 had used a similar idea where the megastar played three roles - that of the scientist, the good robot and the evil robot. Now, Rakesh Roshan seems to have decided to go down the same route for his next directorial.

SCOOP: Bobby Deol dons the antagonist’s hat once again for Ranbir Kapoor-Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film

Ranbir Kapoor recently confirmed being a part of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming action thriller. This is the genre where Ranbir has barely been seen and is more than okay to go ahead and experiment. Ranbir Kapoor was last seen on-screen back in 2018 and had been working on Brahmastra since then. Now, the actor has a few other films in his kitty and will wrap up Luv Ranjan’s untitled rom-com before beginning the prep for this one.

As per the latest reports, Bobby Deol will be seen donning the antagonist’s hat once again after Race 3 and Aashram in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s yet-to-titled project. While Bobby Deol was usually seen in the protagonist’s role or a supporting role, he, too, is willing to expand his horizons and has been impressing his fans by playing the antagonist. While the project is being said to be announced at 12.01 AM on January 1,2021, the star cast so far looks pretty solid.

There have been no further details regarding Bobby Deol’s role in the film so far, but it is expected to be massive nevertheless.
